Contemporary, white-walled chain Italian cafe-deli, with pastas, handmade focaccia and a kids' menu.
Good food selection, polite and helpful staff
Food was good but service a little haphazard. Was presented with bill before my dessert arrived after a long delay. Was charged for an item i never had so had to ask for revised bill.
good food. sometimes service is very slowedit: went back for lunch and service is incredibly slow. took half an hour to just get them to give us a jug of water. surely hire more people or train the staff up more
Great restaurant, great atmosphere, great staff. I had the linguine it was Devine. Would definitely be going here again
We visit Carluccios in Richmond frequently. The food is good and the service quick. Unfortunately, theyre removed some items from their menu, such as the beef ragu pasta, focaccia with burrata and nduja which Id love to see back.
Walked by here several times today and eventually settled for dinner and Im glad I did. Entered and I was seated immediately with no nonsense I like that. I started with a bruschetta which was excellent it came unseasoned which I like because I can season to taste which is the way it should be. Next Chicken Milanese which was cooked to perfection. I wasnt going to have dessert but because the 2 courses I had already received were so good I was eager to try their tiramisu and I was not disappointed. It was probably the best Ive had. Really could not fault this place from the front of house to the kitchen. Service immaculate food very nice.
Wonderful atmosphere with delicious food - the foccacia is to die for!
The food was less than average and the service was appalling. One of the starters just did not arrive and we had to wait an hour for our main course. There were only two or three other tables occupied when we went in, so not as if it was busy. We did complain and they deducted our drinks from the bill with another 10% discount which was something. Not like the Carluccios I remember.
After a long day in London we decided to have a coffee and some food at Carluccios having visited several times before as we had really liked it but how things change. Waited over 20 to 30 mins before any waitress came to take our order and this was after we went to the bar to ask if we were invisible. When the food arrived it was OK, coffees were luke warm where they had been stood waiting to be delivered. Our Daughter had to wait another 10 mins after us for her food to arrive. We were not the only table that was experiencing the time taken to order food and for it to arrive. No staff seemed bothered that we had to wait for service. In a time when restaurants need business, this is not the way to go. VERY DISAPPOINTED 😞
I have been here for breakfast and dinner and both times it’s been great. The service is good and they cater for all - including gluten free. The five star comes as the service was really lovely, an elderly gentlemen dining alone was given special attention and the staff really engaged with the individual and discussed the food with him which I thought was special - whilst busy still making individuals feel special.
Grabbed a reasonably priced Italian meal. Dont expect any love in the food or service though.
Shocking service! The waiter forgot to bring our food out.. he just sat around on his phone. We waited 30 mins for some bread!!Never going to come Carluccios Richmond again!
Food is great but service was horrific.
Good Italian food, and good service. Shorter menu than before, but difficult times for restaurants. Outside tables under cover. Always good to eat out in a nice area such as Richmond.
Great friendly service, tasty good. Nice experience
Not as good as it used to be. No salad leaves so no salads available but 3 nearby supermarkets sell salad items.
Not a great experience. Not made to feel welcome or appreciated, and left with the impression the staff wanted us to leave so they could get away early. The menu was reduced with basics like salad and calamari missing. We booked a table for 7:30 to celebrate an 80th. At 8:00 they told us the kitchen was closing, and we had to order. By 9:00 they were cleaning the restaurant around us with the back door alarm making aloud noise for over 10 minutes. Spoilt what should have been a good evening.
lovely place fabulous food happy poeple.Well worth a visit
Great place to go for a nice meal with the dog. Plenty of shaded seating on a sunny day and lovely food.
Im really disappointed with how the restaurant has changed since covid. We decided to have lunch at Carluccios as it was my favourite restaurant, but thats not the case anymore. My daughter and I ordered our favourite dish, the penne giardinera. The pasta was undercooked and the sauce was too salty. My son chose the penne with the tomato sauce and it was too salty for him. We also ordered my favourite side, rosemary potatoes. Apart from the fact that it wasnt served until the end, it was not fresh at all. It seemed as if it was cooked a week ago, very oily and tasteless. Unlike before, the service has become very poor. I remember that we used to have to wait to be able to get a table on a Saturday. It was very quiet today with plenty of empty tables. All in all, I dont recommend this place to anyone at all and Im sadly not returning anymore.
Lovely staff and venue but the garlic and cheese focaccia was dry, the white wine sauce was tasteless and cold on the chicken dish I had and the bread and butter pudding was the size and thickness of a small slice of bread cut in half which for £7 I thought was quite expensive. A couple of details that left us feeling disappointed when we left. Won’t be rushing back in a hurry anytime soon. 👎
I just had the worst dining experience with the worst waitress I have ever encountered. She was rude, surly, left us for neay an hourly after we had clearly finished our meal. We knew we were in trouble when we asked for a red wine recommendation and she said "people just order the house red" she seemed annoyed we even asked. There was no one else in the restaurant at the time - 9pm! -when had to wave her down to ask for the dessert menu. She rudely said "the kitchen is closed " despite the resta urant being advertised as open until 10.30pm. We made check. Then she threw the dessert menus on the table. The whole experience was a disaster and I begrudge spending £125 here I can only advise dont ever eat at Carluccios in Richmond
Staff were friendly and starters were very tasty and some unique, interesting menu choices. We were disappointed with the main course though (chicken saltimbocca). Smallish, not much flavour and I feel like I could have cooked it better myself at home. Next time I would just order all the yummy starters!
This was my first time dining at Carluccios, the food and drinks were great. The staff were helpful with advising on what was suitable for me due to my allergies, and they have a selection of dishes that are suitable if you cannot eat nuts or gluten.
Very dissapointing. Dont be fooled by the nice interior. The beef ragu papardelle was flavourless, and the sauce for the bocconcini was ice-cold. Save your money and eat at home.
Very good food. Service was a touch slow, however the staff realised that. The staff tried their best remedy the impact. So, I would recommend padding some extra time to eat.
I popped in for a quick lunch before a meeting and Im so glad I did. I was hoping it would be the same great quality food as it always was at Carluccios and it exceeded my expectations. The service was attentive and efficient and the food did not disappoint. I opted for a salad but absolutely love the spinach balls that are in the gardiena dish and the waiter was happy to oblige. The spinach balls were lovely and the salad perfectly balanced, the avocado was perfectly ripe and as you can see, it wasnt simply a pile of leaves! The photo doesnt do it justice because Id already started to demolish it!No wonder this place is buzzing, I will certainly be back!
Cold food, most of which had been waiting on the pass for some time, no one seemed to care much, but offered to replace 3 out of 6 meals without checking on the others which were also poor standard, the only saving grace was not being asked to pay for the drinks and garlic bread we had ( although I did offer), shame that such a big chain seem so careless about customer satisfaction
Midweek lunch deals are excellent value and high quality cuisine. 2 course lunch @£14, and there is a good choice of dishes. They also have a heated patio which is nice to sit outside and eat in good weather. For the calorie counters, each dish is labelled too. Fast friendly service from the crew. Highly recommended a visit.
Great breakfast served by friendly, attentive staff. A short distance from and ideal starting location for a day in Kew Gardens.
Good and rapid service, tasty steak and fish. Just a bit surprised that no pizza in the menu other than this five star deserved
Mediocre and patchy service, main course was dried out, was probably sitting on the counter for 20 mins. Just poor all all round but the waitress was trying her best.
Excellent service, very nice food and reasonable price.
My partner and me went for a Saturday lunch.I ordered spaghetti carbonara that was very poorly cooked to the point of being inedible. My partner ordered pasta bolognese and was equally disappointing .The staff was apathetic and one of the ladies seemed to be picking on one of the youngest member of staff. Not a very good experience.
This isnt just any Carluccios. Situated across the road from Richmond station it is run by Italians. Spacious contemporary interior and pleasant outdoor seating available. Excellent menu and small shop where you can purchase oils, pasta etc. Lovely staff.
One of the finest Italian restaurant. Nice food and ambience. Service is also great. We had a birthday celebration with our family and it was pleasant dining there.
I went on Sunday to have dinner with my friend and we loved the food and atmosphere. We wanted to leave a good review for Dominika who was an absolute delight, she had been treated unfairly by another customer and we felt that such an amazing employee who sticks to her double shift despite having been shouted at deserves a good review. She gave everything to her shift on Sunday.
Pasta was very good, but service very poorWe ordered a starter, 2 pasta main dishes and some water. The starter came quickly but After 30 min they had never brought the water. We got a main dish and 15 minutes after finishing it, we got the 2nd one….
As far as ‘authentic Italian’ goes, they’ve certainly nailed the complete lack of good service. Except they also add incorrect orders, poorly cooked food, apathetic staff, obvious rift between front-of-house vs kitchen, and weak management. Never, ever dine here.
Love this place. Best focaccia
Amazing quality fresh foods, from pastries to full course meals. Feels like an Italian cafe, the food is amazing, the staff are lovely and the interior is relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. They have a gluten free menu and many vegetarian and vegan alternatives which are all as tasty as the main menu items. The cocktails and mocktails are great and also reasonably priced. Overall a really good experience and will be returning.
Visited on 13/07 on a lovely sunny afternoon when together with my wife we decide to seat on the terrace at Carluccios and have a couple off drinks, but soon we feel the smell off fresh cooked food we get hungry instantly we grab the menus and order food. The waitresses they where very attentative and served us promptly and professionally,We first get our starters which we enjoyed and we were looking forward for mains which they come in a good timing after the starters where cleard,(kalamari where fresh and fantastic taste, focaccia cooked fresh on site and bruschetta very tasty)the mains they exceed my aspectations as myself I worked long time in an Italian restaurant and I was fascinated about my Beff papardele being first time to try this dish,my wife enjoyed extremely her seafood linguine and the desert wass fantastic (a homemade bred and butter pudding/ a giant homemade profiterole)for a Tuesday 13 which wass going wrong from the morning the Carluccio restaurant MADE OUR DAY,defefentley we will comme back.Thank you for the excellent food, good service and also I have to mention the lady manger wass visible around tables giving support.
Nice, welcoming staff. Great place for non-pizza Italian cuisine - pasta, risotto, antipasti,... Great value for money. It also has a nice little shop where you can find a great variety of true Italian products.
Such a lovely, calm ambience here. We booked dinner for NYE and although it was busy, service was still impeccable. We had a wonderful time. Thank you.
Very nice atmosphere with kind and helpful staff. The food is well cooked and and the portions are big enough. You can also find very tempting offers for in-store use mostly (check their website). Also, you can find many Italian ingredients to buy like pasta pesto etc. As well as books by the branded chef that cover any type of cooking maestry. There are many vegan options for those that desire. The location is very nice and easy to access with public transport.
Very nice atmosphere and delicious food.Staff very smiley, attentive and helpful. But service was a bit slow.
lovely ,helpful, professional waiter, waitresses, services, quality mealsUpdate.4.Febr.2019. Weve been back to celebrate my partners birthday. We had wonderful time again, starters, mains, wine, drinks, the services...everything just perfect as allways. Big thank you guys for your special kindness for my partner.
Nice atmosphere, tasty food and beverages, friendly service and most importantly of all...they are open for dinner on Sunday night while most nearby places are not. The starters were dynamite, the entree salad with chicken was good but served cold and the desserts were fabulous.
They say Reading is a dump but the more time I spend here the more cool things I find, one of them being Carluccios. Its a large Italian restaurant that also functions as a coffee shop, delicatessan and cake shop. It does all these functions very well. The place looks beautiful and its been superbly designed; lots of big windows and space and the lighting is superb.I didnt have a meal here but we had cake and it was delicious. The way the food is presented in the shop is very artful. The only thing that wasnt ideal was the service, which wasnt particularly friendly. The Romanian guy was very friendly but the others werent, not that they were rude or anything. Its ideal for big groups, with big budgets, couples, kids and singles. I say "singles" as I am single and Id feel comfortable here because its big and relatively anonymous.
Excellent and delicious meal this evening. Friendly staff, fast and efficient service. The manager came out in person to help me with my ordering (I have a garlic allergy). The waiter brought out a dish of water for our dog. Excellent gents (according to my husband!Lovely experience, couldnt fault it!
