BREWERY SQUARE, 1 Dray Horse Yard, Dorchester DT1 1GS, Lai
Contemporary, white-walled chain Italian cafe-deli, with pastas, handmade focaccia and a kids' menu.
Disappointed as we went for special occasion and it was rather ruined by the very slow service. We waited ages to get drinks and food even though there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant. Food was mediocre and only luke warm when it finally arrived. Not worth the wait. Very disappointing. Would not go back. Given the number of bad reviews about the poor service, maybe this is something management should look at? Plenty of better restaurants nearby.
Great service, lovely food. Our waiter Aiden was excellent, making us feel very welcome.
Brilliant food, very friendly staff in a great location in Dorchesters Brewery Square. Couldnt recommend highly enough
Excellent food, good service and set lunch was good value
Went there for lunch after getting hitched at the registry office.Really friendly staff, the waitress who look after us was polite and good at her job, credit to your team.Food was fantastic, we had a lovely time. Thank you.
Not a good experience. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order and that wasnt even drinks. We had our starter which was lovely but it took a while before anyone came to take the plate when we had finished. Our mains eventually came and mine wasnt what I ordered. Went up to explain and then was presented with another wrong dish before I finally got the right one. As for the side dish it came when we had finished but was told we didnt have to pay. To finish it off when we went to pay the bill we were presented with there wrong bills. A disaster from start to finish.
Just had a full traditional breakfast and coffee with the wife, one of the best breakfasts I have tasted in a long time, highly recomend..
Lovely happy friendly young staff. Quality food and drinks. Perfect location. Spacious and well done interiors.
Food excellent. Staff very good.
Just had a lovely meal here and everything was brilliant. Got to give a special mention to our waiter Tiago who was brilliant with his humour and brilliant customer service. Will be back again soon to see him! Many thanks
Fabulous food and great service. Manager was amazing as i have a food allergy and they were so helpful!
Delightful setting, atmospheric ambience, good service, attentive staff, food choice limited but good range of anti pasti. Good wine choice, can recommend the Abruzza by the glass. A pleasant lunch and evening meal venue.
Not that happy. The service was great - but the avocado in my salad was not ripe and therefore didnt taste of much - a shame.
We asked for just cocktails and were shown to a table where the waiter tried to get us to order food. We then waited half an hour for our cocktails and half an hour after asking for the bill. The cocktails were expensive for what they were
We enjoyed a superb meal all enhanced by the manager Salvadore who is on the ball with both customers & staff alike, clearly a great asset to Carluccios I hope they appreciate him.Our waitress was Emily who was very proffessional & attentive. We also sent our compliments to the head chef Atilla as the meal was cooked & presented superbly. We absolutely wanted for nothing, a fantastic meal making the evening complete & fully enjoyable.
Atmosphere and food was good. The portions were a little on the small side for my preferences.Unfortunately, the service was slow and sporadic even though it wasnt busy in the restaurant.
Our server Emese was honestly one THE sweetest and most lovely people I have ever met. Even if the food had not been delicious, she made my night! But the food was delicious too.
Had an evening meal out here, food ok service very slow. Drinks never turned up with meal. And then they add vat to there advertised price list, a rather dirty trick as couldnt see that advertised anywhere. Last time they will see us.
Friendly staff, yummy food
Focaccia was soaked in oil and cold, however the Sea Bass was delicious, perfectly cooked and the garlic roast potatoes were perfect. Service was decent if a little slow. Overall its OK and without the bread maybe would of scored a star higher.
Enjoyed the food .very good service.
Had the lasagna, had little to no meat with it, very disappointing. The pasta & sauce was lovely. Very nice atmosphere.
Took ages for our order to be taken and even longer to receive any drinks. The whole experience was drawn out and painful. Staff brisk but not efficient. Then made a mistake on the bill...
Visited the Dorchester restaurant yesterday where we have enjoyed many good meals in the past, however on this occasion my Wife and myself both ordered tomato brushetta which was good and the cauliflower orrecchiette from the daytime set menu which was served minus the roasted cauliflower and breadcrumbs, this was replaced with some small pasta shapes which tasted like rubber, definatly not al dente or advertised as part of the dish. The waiter was good and attentive but seemed a little hampered by service from the kitchen which seemed slow for a restaurant with only a few tables occupied.
Oh dear, what to say? The food was great and good size portions. Our waiter was lovely, very attentive (but not too muchand helpful. The low star rating is due to the management not honouring a 20% discount code which I had checked the T&Cs about - valid all month, saying they couldnt accept it on a Friday as they were so busy (hmmm, about a quarter full I would sayI had even mentioned it when booking but wasnt told then, nor on arrival, that it wasnt valid. Wont be rushing back.
Great food, but service was a little slow.
I know its a chain but I love it here . Always had great service. Lunch with the girls - evening meal with fire ds or a hot choc and cake with the kids . Thumbs up from me
Less than ordinary. Really nice building. Clean, nice design in old brewery. Quite noisy inside. Ordered a cafe latte, arrived luke warm, as did my friends cappucino so we sent them back. Staff immediately agreed to replace and bring new ones but when they arrived they were only slightly warmer and one of the worst coffees I have had in a while. Staff were neither friendly nor attentive. Looks really nice from the outside but I would not recommend it. Although they were fully booked for lunch so maybe their food is better than their coffee.
Visited the restaurant around a month ago, was looking for a gastronomic experience....sadly lacking and overall very disappointing. Large portions but just bland & boring food!....will not be rushing bac again.
The food here is fantastic, service was fast and friendly. I would book if you are going at the weekend as its very popular.
The pasta dish was good, but the chicken in breadcrumbs was slightly overcooked, making the breadcrumbs dry and crunchy. The Espresso coffee nearly had a teaspoon of coffee in the cup. Not impressed at all.
Terrible service, we booked in advance and still ended up waiting nearly an hour and a half for food, it took 30 minuets for bread sticks. Currently sat waiting to have our table cleared and we are being completely ignored, groups of people have come and gone whilst we have been sat here
Lovely restaurant, clean and modern, staff service excellent as well as the food, no complaints at all
Stopped off for a Brunch after travelling up from Devon, Clean well run and good standard of food although on the pricier side I felt it was worth it given the quality.
Went out for breakfast, greeted by a very pleasant member of staff and shown to a tableOrdered eggs Florentine and a coffee, the waiter said that there would be a slight delay getting the coffee. The food and coffee were both excellent and reasonably priced
Really nice place with lovely food, portions were a little smaller then average for me personally and also the service was a little slow.
Good food but unusually the service was very poor. This was not the normal standard of service from Carluccios, we are longstanding customers and much surprised . 10-15 mins for drinks after arriving, restaurant manager was oblivious and sailed on past even when the table was full of empty plates. Blonde waitress likewise. I had to go and find them whilst they were cleaning the Deli. just so they could clear our table.Other waitress was working hard but not covering our table unfortunately. The bill was for £200 and we were pretty dissatisfied. The point was not raised at the time as it was a family celebration and we didnt want to spoil it.
Wanted to give the breakfast food 5 stars but as usual the Dorchester restaurant had no skimmed or semi skimmed milk so we had to have lemon tea and we wanted coffee. Come on carluccios get some semi skimmed milk or we will go else where
Just came for a pj breakfast @carluccios with friends and it was amazing cant wait to return with the boys for lunch on our next trip to Dorchester. Staff were attentive and extreamly polite . Food was faultless
Great food and great service with lovely friendly staff
Carluccios in Dorchester, Dorset has excellent food and fantastic sercice. The staff were extremely helpful. I am coeliac and lactose intolerant and the staff could not have been more helpful! The chefs prepared me a special dish as I was unable to have what I originally wanted due to the allergens it could potentially have contained and it was absolutely superb! I could not fault the food or the service we received in any way whatsoever! If you enjoy good food that is well prepared and served in a relaxed, informal environment where you dont feel rushed with your meal, I highly recommend you visit this restaurant! Enjoy!
Ate here a while ago, and the food was oily, bland and no where near the same standard as other local Italian restaurants!! When we complained the person that served us could not have looked more disinterested!!
My fiancée and I were removed from our table immediately after being directed to it by another member of staff. The lady who welcomed us was friendly and inviting, whilst the staff member who refused service coldly stated that they were "awaiting bookings" and said that we can "eat at the bar instead".Aside from the terrible service, lack of communication and being forced out into the rain, Carluccios is a lovely-looking restaurant in the heart of the Brewery Square development.
Sadly this was a not a good experience for us took family in for breakfast as we do most Saturday s left nearly an hour without our order while people who arrived after us had been served and had eaten and left.will never go again .Andy fooks. Very dissatisfied customer
Nice location with standard Italian food offerings. Service is always patchy especially if you sit outside on the terrace. if they can improve the service then it will be 4 stars
Place is good for families. Its slightly on the expensive side.I would recommend a more varied menu specially for the vegetarians and some of the old favourites back on the menu.
Last evening was enhanced with beautiful weather. Meal good and friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Tonight inside less people staff friendly. Await meal
Stunning coffee and breakfast, not eaten lunch or dinner there
Have previously enjoyed eating here and while the food was still enjoyable, we were disappointed to find some of our favourite options no longer on the menu. The service however is still excellent; the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Went in for a light snack, fantastic, friendly, and non patronising staff, they appear to be genuinely pleased to be serving you. Finished our awesome flavoured snack, paid, left, went for a walk then went back about an hour and a half later for afternoon tea with desert, this was the first time my wife and I had been and we ended up going twice in the same afternoon. Thank you ! Well be back.
