Mexican-focused market with general groceries plus a juice & fruit bar, tortillas & prepared meals.
We shop there often and have always had a great experience. Helpful staff, delicious prepared food.
No longer MI Pueblo is now Cardenas. A lil racist towards whites . Unless you consider the employees not speaking English as their reason. Get passed over by others while waiting for service.
Hardens me to type this but I fell in this store accidentally about a month ago.. they had a cooler with meat leakingi n the middle isle by the butcher section.. I walked in between this cooler and pallet to view the meat selection and when I turned around to see if my daughter was still close.. I fell.. not knowing what was happening, I grabbed onto something and twisted my body falling again. The staff laughed and refused to help me. I picked myself up and hobbled to the Customer Service desk where I had to wait 15 minutes for the manager who needed a translator to speak to me. I have not received any apologies or phone calls back from this company regarding my incident. I decided to take it here because I couldve been an elderly person it happened to. To be laughed at instead of helped is very concerning.. but to not receive a callback as if to be ignored is bad business!
Some people are niceSome are notExpensive and quality it’s not 100%
Cant understand other reviews. But my experience was super bad. Price thats post is not the real price. $7.99 chilakiles end price $11 its fine when food is good but this ???
This place has improved the produce section better than Safeway or Raleys and cheaper than them. Fresh produce. Meat and seafood section cleaner than before and no smell. I start liking it.
We went to get sonething to eat, beef and chicken soup was good. And pkatanos fritos were sp good
Great source of Mexican food and fairly priced produce and meats.
Cardenas market is a very nice and clean store. Make sure if you go to the meat counter take a number as people will cut the line and go ahead of you rudely.
Great Latino store has a meat market bakery taqueria as well as a variety of Latino foods from veggies to tortillas its a great place to shop reasonable prices
Great prices and lots of stuff you cant get at other stores
Service was greatGuacamole was suppose to be good but this time it was watery...
I buy specific produce here and ALWAYS use it within a few days. pasillo peppers can be very inexpensive sometimes... if like me, you like making chile rienos.I buy large tortillas here. Always appear to be fresh.Update - quality of the produce is inconsistent. It appears to depend on when you shop. The staff are always responsive to requests.
I love Cardenas Market! Its decorated so nice and fancy..classy! There are built-in restaurants, bakery, meat and cheese departments, and a great seafood section This store is so clean, organized, best quality products at affordable prices, and every worker always has a smile to greet you! The best is on sale days where you can find bargains galore. Please try out this establishment!
Cardenas is a Mexican store . Whit a variety of items for all agesWhit fresh food 🍱 and fresh bakery 🥯Love to do a 1 time shop for all my family nice and clean store 🏬
Food us not fresh ? Dry. Dont like it
Will not return! Sold us rotten tendons for menudo. The guy behind the counter were the raw meat is was rude to my mother. She told him the tendons smell bad he confirmed they were good. All lies! Got home and of course they were rotten. Why sell things that are bad??
Last weekend we ordered 10lbs of carnitas and packages of tortillas. The carnitas were cold as if they had made the order a day or two days prior to my order. They were very bad. The tortillas had mold on them, i ordered about 20 packages and all of my guest were disgusted by the tortillas. Be careful everyone, the food is becoming terrible and disgusting.
Never enough staff, considerable wait times for service at the butcher counter and check out. God forbid you dont speak fluent Spanish, as you will get treated like you dont matter by most of the employees and receive blank stares in response to your attempts at stating anything in poorly spoken Spanish. (At least Im making an attempt, but I know my Spanish is horrible.)
My wife went in and items she bought were great buys. She was very happy about that and plans on going back again.
THE WORST soup Ive ever had! This place has no shame when it comes to selling quality Mexican homemade food, even though they have all the ingredients to do it right!!!!! I paid $12 dollars for a tasteless soup, dont waste your money there when theres better places in town.
I love this place, fresh pan dulce, fresh tamales, freshly made tortillas, and a great fully stocked fresh meat butcher department!
Always fresh produce, more then one cashier working, and decent verity food and brands. The hot food deli, plus pastries is a must.
They have Fresh Meats, fruits and veggies. Hot food tamales, frescas, fresh queso. I find what I need.✌🏽🧑🏾
My first time in this market. I am quite pleased. Produce looks good, meat and cheese counters, and a restaurant! I will be back. Only downside, no carts available--had to go out to the parking lot to get one.
Clean and well stocked store of authentic Latin brands and foods as well as American staples. Best guacamole and chips!
the food is not bad but the portion they serve you is very little for the price they charge you a lot and they give you less
Always fresh produce at fair prices.
Came early to shop. Picked up some fruits, vegetables, meat and of course; the aqua fruitas! Prices are always competitive.
Pleasantly surprised nice Mexican food store. Large selection, great appearing fresh fruits and vegetables. It is a busy store.
My wife and I went in there a couple of times the food counter people are friendly and helpful the people who work in the store itself are rude or prejudice I’m not sure which my wife is white and I’m half Latino they can’t speak Spanish. One of the male workers hit my wife with a cart didn’t say excuse me did nothing just kept going the woman who selling the cheese was rude she didn’t want to answer questions I asked her if she speaks English and she gave a Kurt not but no more than that.I’m not sure if they just want Spanish-speaking people in there and nobody else like I said customer service very bad
Love all the Mexican goodies at reasonable prices. Im rating the store 4 starts because they have horrible customer service, wait times are exceptional long when ordering from there food court section and often workers are available but opt to socialize rather than assist customers.
Last time I was there was 5 years ago. The food was excellent everything was fresh and delicious. I came back on 2021 and I was amazed on how bad everything was. Food was old and dry not what I was expecting.
I was in the meat department waiting to be help. The butcher was helping another customer it was only mr and that customer when a women came out the back at the same time another customer walked up. Instead of her coming over to me she walked up to the customer that was walking up at the same time and began speaking Spanish to her. I said excuse me I was here first! She ignored me or acted like she didnt hear me so I said it again she still ignored me and then the butcher and customer she was helping started speaking Spanish to her and then she came over to help me. Im a paying customer and felt that she wanted to her people first UNACCETABLE
Heres the scoop on this place. Yes it has a wide variety of Mexican products many authentic but some are better than others. For instance they sell a large brand of THEIR trademark goods like chips and tortillas and pan dulce. All of which are relatively good except if your chasing the BEST TORTILLAS on todays market buy the, LA FINCA BRAND TORTILLAS!!! This market carries that brand so often hard to find at most similar mercados. Absolutely tortillas to die for!!! Trust me when I say this food experience will change your life!!! And the chorrizo Centro Americano is by far the most authentic chorrizo to flavor any dish. Its sold by the pound here. This exclusive product of chorrizo is only sold here and trust me when i say...add sum eggs wrap it in a, La Finca tortilla and youll find the closest taste to authentic Mexican food you can find. Great bakery too and deli. Carnitas superb.Buy them by the pound, its more cost effective. And taste ur refried beans b4 you buy them. Sometimes they sit for awhile. Taste taste will ensure quality assurance.
Cardenas is one of my favorite Mexican stores. There cakes are great, the food court is delicious. They have so many cheese, spices, meats, fruits, and vegetables to choose from.
Super affordable produce and staff are great. Best bulk flour tortillas around that Ive found, especially the Sonoran style
went this morning for some caldo de res and when i began to transfer it from the take out bowl to a regular bowl i found a balled up plastic bag!! my husband went back with the soup and bag and the manager said i had to PROVE it happened and refused to replace the soup and/or refund my money. why would i not tell the truth?! i wanted the soup replaced and to let them know what happened so that it doesnt happen again! the manager could have handled the issue better but refused to!
This place had really gone downhilll. I used to love to pick up hot food. Today I was in line for 20 minutes. There were 2 women working. One came back from break and disappeared. The other one was busy and the 3rd one was messing around with the food on the front window instead of helping us. I had 5 people behind me. Mr Joaquin was the best worker. He is no longer there. Such a shame.
At the deli we ordered chili relleanos. They were excellent. Because we were in a grocery store with fresh produce we were able to purchase some fruit and a salad. The fruit was fresh and delicious. We selected plums, oranges, and pears. I also bought a cold bottled starbucks coffee. A very clean market for regular grocery stopping to a bite to eat.
I love their selection on all the different types of meats fresh meat cuts. Its very clean they have prepared food as well very good wonderful choice of produce I enjoy it because its in our neighborhood
Im only giving it 3 stars due to them having a lot of parking and the stores cleanliness, but when it comes to fruit? Youre better off skipping it here. Not sure if I came on a bad day but Strawberries looked dries, papayas looked like they were old.
Tacos are great for Taco Tuesday. They give a lot of meat for tacos.
Went in to purchase a few things so I could make my enchiladas for my children & 2 grandchildren who are visiting from San Diego. Its been almost a year. On the window sale price for boneless skinless leg & thigh at $1.99. handed me the bag & chicken priced at $2.79 I said no thats not what it says here he goes to get the other worker. Im getting ready to take a picture of the sale price & the guy rips it off the window & says that was yesterdays price. I said well thats not my fault you forgot to take it down. He.tells me to go up front & cashier will adjust it. The cashier is about to walk back & take a pic I told her he already took the sale pic off the window then she grabs the sale add & proceeds to tell me that the sale price is for Friday Saturday and Sunday. I know this is a long story but to get the run around from everyone just be honest & sell me my chicken geez. The outcome I did get it sale price but finished my shopping elsewhere!!!
I enjoy this place. Im here twice a week usually. They have a restaurant inside the store and good food. They have all kinds of goodies. Check out their beauty section, you section for the kids ,diapers, wipes and they even sell motor oil etc. Very fun place and environment to come shopping.
I loved the store and would go for lunch three times a week, but it has changed. I think acquired by another company and changed the name . Produce is less quality and more expensive. Workers are so nice but the warmth and excitement is missing. Hopefully will get better.
Its definitely not Mi Pueblo anymore, the quality isnt the same and it seems like the standard of quality & service has slightly diminished or become mitt lax. The produce isnt as fresh, its more wilted, looks old and I only found a few items to be automatically watered. The prices are okay but not quite the same great deals as before. Even with this criticism I would still shop here but only for the location convenience if I dont have time to make it to another store a little further away. I think it could come back and/or surpass its former glory by increasing the standard of quality and keeping the prices competitive
I do like the selection and prices on the fruits and vegetables. The dry bean and rice selection is good. Canned selection is more around the authentic cooking (if you are looking for canned fruit it wont be here). Love this store for the freshness and prices. Their vegetables dont taste like cold storage.
Food was not good at all... they told me no more rice. They mixed burrito with red and white rice, beans, and carrots. My sons quesadilla wasnt cooked right beans tasted brunt horrible service the cook couldnt speak good English which Im not against they dont need to throw anyone behind the grill thats doesnt know how to cook. Took 30 minutes to get my food and wasnt good at all!!! Horrible it use to be real good! Now its not tasting
I went there for the Mexican Sweet Bread, got there at 715 am. The store had just opened, so no need to rush. Items in store seemed fairly priced and employees were busy doing their jobs. Good selection for the Mexican Sweet Bread. Very tasty and soft.
