Globetrotting Eclectic menu served in a lively, airy space with bar and all-day coffee culture vibe.
SOURDOUGH PIZZA (House made pork and fennel sausage, stem broccoli, tallegio, mozzarella, gremolata- deliciously good 👍🏼+ Sauvignon blanc (New Zealand)
This place may be better with a crowd but its a good venue. Interested mixed brunch menu with a selection for most people.Great location in city with easy access.
Great location and amazing food, like in all of their restaurants.
Incredibly reasonably priced for amazing amazing food! Love this place and I continue to come back. Super good food, healthy ingredients and really interesting flavours. The coffee is also 10/10
Busy place but sorry I did not enjoy it. Woke menu which I thought was limiting. The biggest thing was that they never had diet coke. They had some other brand which was absolutely horrible. I did advise my waiter who sort of just shrugged his shoulders. Was miffed that they never took the price of the drink from the bill. Cant say Ill rush back..... really not that great
Fantastic menu, even better coffee, I made sure to buy a bag of their beans to take home.
We had a lovely lunch here. We ordered everything in the small plates menu and a couple of large plates between four. Food was delicious. Service wad good but informal. I am not sure if that is the style. Not cheap but average for London.
Had a disappointing brunch experience here. I walked in, and had to wait for the maître dee, which was fine, however, I asked to be seated for one person, and the maître dee immediately said, "Were fully booked out" - I looked around the restaurant and there were a few tables empty, let alone the numerous empty tables outside, to which I asked if I could sit out on one of them. The maître dee then replied, "I can put you up at the window" - which had two empty seats; from being fully booked out to conveniently finding me seats in a split second, had already put me off.Ordering was relatively quick, after actively flagging staff down. I ordered the Chorizo and Potato Hash and an oat flat white - the brunch dish came out, what felt like immediately (like in a minute or two), which was quite surprising - as weird as it sounds, food coming out that quick raises eyebrows. I also noticed that I didnt get some table water - the couple to the right of me, received water, the couple to the left of me (who sat down after me, after the previous couple left), also received water. The dish itself was tasty, but to call it Chorizo and Potato Hash is quite misleading - there literally were only three bite size slices of chorizo, and it was full potatoes, not hash - also considering it was priced at £13.50, I was expecting more. The coffee served here was great, but given that its a roaster, Id be even more surprised if that were not the case.
Lovely place. We had a quite big gathering on Monday and they have accommodated us perfectly, even without booking. Our waiteres Vana, was super lovely and always smiling.I am going to visit again.Thank you!
We had previously tried other locations. This one has got a very nice interior with seats available outdoor as well, wonderful for summer times.I tried dumplings, not a fan to be honest. Fish was a bit spicy. Waiters were friendly and nice.
Great brunch spot. Ive now been to two Caravan branches and theyre both good. Reliable food, nice service and a chilled atmosphere/aesthetic. This is also very convenient to reach from the tube
Only brunch menu for Saturday lunch time, the lamb meatballs were way too sour with some tomato, aubergine sauce and sour cream under. Expected much more from the place after reading the reviews but it was very averageee
Very convenient location, just opposite Cannon Street station. Big outdoor space. The food was good (we had veg full englishbut a bit pricey for what it was when comparing with the local spot. The menu has lots of options for breakfast/brunch and the waiting time was not too long. The place can get busy on weekends for brunch so it is nice to visit very early to avoid crowds. Overall good experience and would visit again.
Ive been to a few cafes in my time, usually selling premixed sandwiches, or dishes. But I decided to give Caravan Citys brunch menu a shot. The service was really fast and smooth, there wasnt always someone at the front entry so I had to Potter around a bit till I was given a menu and a seat, theres sun seats, shade seats and indoor seats!I will admit thats the best fry up Ive had in ages. The tomato and mushroom were treated with care and tenderness , and Im not usually a bacon fan, but woah, best bacon Ive ever had. That was wild.
Had a great brunch. Special, delicious and varied options. Took the cornbread and the fry. Great coffee.
Comfortable & generally clean surroundings that also serve food. Friendly staff. But toilets need to be kept clean . Having some spare bags around would be helpful.
Really enjoyed the variety of food on offer here. Quality and portions were great. Super friendly atmosphere and service. Even helped us celebrate our friends birthday by bringing out a cake. Would visit again.
Wed come back particularly for more Sea Bass red curry and to celebrate mid-summer. Great fresh tasting and sophisticated combinations - we loved everything we had, Nduja & Goats Cheese Wonton, Mackerel with Mango Chilli Lime and crushed Peanuts and Nduja Pizza. These went well with the NZ Sauvignon.
I had heard nothing but good things about the food, drinks and atmosphere at Caravan City, but was simply blown away to experience it firsthand! Despite an exceptionally busy evening, our waitress, Halle, never missed a beat and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. We will be coming back and I highly recommend the smoked salmon grain bowl!
We had booked in advance for dinner, and when we entered they told us we would only have our table for an hour and a half, and we agreed (no other choice). However the entire time we were trying to enjoy our meal, different staff members continuously approached us reminding us of our cut-off time, even when nowhere near that time yet and having already acknowledged that multiple times. We were completely unable to relax and enjoy our time there. I will not be going back. It seems theyre prioritizing overbooking over providing hospitality.Food was pretty good and so were some of the cocktails. But the second round of cocktails was completely tasteless. Not worth the bad service.
Absolutely love this place! Been here a few times, both when I wasnt a vegan and now that I am and honestly you cant go wrong when it comes to food here. Drinks are also way up there in quality too, so I highly recommend getting a cocktail or two when youre there. Staff are amazing as well! Always fun, happy and professional. The vibe of the space is really nice too. Overall a nice place to go for food, drinks and a good time. P.s. Elina, one of the managers there, is amazing!
So my experience with this restaurant was... less then stellar. We had a party of 8 that arrived just after 1.00, but there was no lunch menu as the brunch menu was on until 5.00. Not the worst thing, but still irritating as the options were very limited. The food arrived and the portions were all on the small side. I had the Fry, which is just a full English, but a very small version of it. Not exactly what you want for lunch. The bacon was excessively burnt, the mushrooms were undercooked and the whole thing was rather tasteless. The poached eggs were quite nice, but like the rest of it, were only luke warm.We all had a similar experience so I asked our group if we were going to say anything, but in true British fashion we agreed to not make a fuss. And that was where I was going to leave it, but then the bill came with a Discretionary 12.5% gratuity included. My friend asked why that was there and the waitresses told him that its not actually discretionary, but compulsory. That was the final straw for me. I always leave a tip, but Im not accepting management dictating the amount I give. Especially for the extremely low quality we received. At this time I could absolutely not recommend this place to others.
Overpriced for what they offer (standard brunch without unique menu items). Poached egg was cold and the white was raw still.
Really great atmosphere, food, coffee and staff. Went for a friends birthday and the staff / manager went above and beyond to help make it special. Only reason why I dropped a star is the container that I got to take away leftovers was tiled in the doggy bag and so the food leaked and stained my clothes and shoes (despite the container itself being fully closed).
Reliably good food. They have added calories next to each menu item. Great! Makes you aware of the sometimes shockingly high caloric content of some plates. Certainly helpful in making a mindful decision.
Gorgeous brunch location in the city. The service is fantastic and brunch was very tasty.
The food was nice, the staff was wonderful but the vegan options were really limited. Potatoes with side-dish of potatoes (with butter! we had to ask for ones withoutetc. There just wasnt enough variety. Cake was definitely too sweet. But the tofu dish? It was AMAZING! (This whole opinion is about the "feasting menu")
Really great atmosphere and loved the interior of the place. Nice and chilled on a Sunday. Staff were very attentive and bought water to each table even if you were just ordering a hot drink. They also were friendly and have great customer service. Excellent hot and cold drinks menu with fresh ingredients like mint and turmeric.
Gave this place a second chance. The first time me and my partner waited for the food for a full hour. This time for lunch - 50 mins. Half an hour for drinks after ordering. I think something needs to be fixed there for sure, it’s not great service at all.
Lovely view, interior and location. However, the staff could be more attentive to the details. The chair we was sat had large visible staines on it, one which was from a drink the previous customer spilled. The table was not really cleaned either. Overall the place was disorganised, maybe it was because we was there on a Sunday. Not sure, but the service definitely needs improving.Otherwise the food was good, no major complains there.
Went for a brunch today with my friends and had a lovely time. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The coffee is wonderfully fresh. The food is decent size and delicious!
Great venue inside & outStaff were very helpfulGood selection of beers 🍺Food was ok. I had the meat 🍕. It was a little tasteless sadlyUnisex toilets 🚽…
Ordered salmon with scrambled eggs on toast. Food is already cold when served. Worst scrambled eggs I’ve had by far this year. They’re served within 5 mins of ordering so highly likely to be pre-made and stacked together. Coffee and sourdough is not bad though.
I would give 5 out 5 for everything at Caravan, food atmosphere, service, cocktails location and interior design.Plenty of vegetarian options and all are amazing.I am definitely going to go there many times in the future.
Really nice place for lunch. Quick service and great food.Would be great if they will also expand their menu (i.e burgers)
Great pizza. Really nice staff members. Negative points for being hipster heaven not having real coca cola. I mean I understand their ethos of sourcing zero impact. But I love coke with my pizza. Not some karma Cola. Ive already got good karma. And Ill know what youll say. Im product placed but I also love it and it is shame not to be able to enjoy a sip of cold one with such a good pizza. Pizza dough was so fantastic and proper Italian style. Ive commended the chef because it was so good. In general I recommend it for people who like Christiano Ronaldo and dont drink coke.
Beautiful bar and restaurant with great, attentive bar staff who worked hard, quick and looked after clients well. Very impressed! Also they cleaned our glasses in a timely manner! Thanks Adam for the tasty Cosmopolitan. I only want from him from now on.
Came in here on Saturday morning mainly because nothing else was open, and Im so glad we did. The atmosphere was buzzing, really happy and chilled vibes. We only had a coffee, iced mocha and a cappuccino which were both lovely. But the food looked great as well.
We were very hungry walking around the city and stumbled upon this restaurant. The gentleman at the door seemed professional but didn’t seem very nice. I’m not sure if he’s just having a bad day. Customer service is a bit so-so. Some were great, some were not very nice and we have been served by maybe 4-5 people altogether. It’s not a bad thing for us but it’s just more room for getting someone not too great.Cocktails were ok, food were ok too. We ordered two cocktails and they’re not bas. We also ordered two dishes, one has the kimchi pancake and pork belly which was nice but would be nicer if the pork belly was more cooked or caramelised (this is just a personal preference). The other dish had potatoes and sausages which are ok too. I think this place could do better. The food ideas are great and creative but maybe just a tad more polishing.
We booked Caravan to have our last meal before the lockdown. It turns out a huge disappointment. We were seated at 7.30pm which is a perfectly normal dining time. But half of the menu options was gone and there’s no even French fries. After we ordered, the waiter kept coming to us, saying the food we ordered was gone. Then nearly 2 hours later, our pizzas finally came - well, 2 of the 4 pizzas we ordered and guess what - half of the ingredients that were supposed to be on the pizza were gone too! It took more nudging to get the remaining 2 - in the end we had “Eggs on bread”!Although we didn’t need to pay for the pizza in the end, this is incredibly bizarre. In waiter’s word, there were too many people dining at 5-6pm. I find it absurd how awful the management is.Why do I need to book a table when you couldn’t even buy enough groceries to cater my dining experience? The restaurant could have just refused to let people in - so those who booked the table can order what they want. Shame on you, Caravan.P.S. waiters were in great manner.
Slightly unusual menu options to most other brunch places. Also a bit more expensive than most London brunch places. But everything tasted delicious and the cafe decor is lovely. The City location is very quiet on a weekend.
Phenomenal food. Wow, honestly the chef took me on a journey. Service was on point too. Cocktails were great too.If I have to be super super picky, I didn’t like the vegan dessert. But in their defence when I mentioned it, they took it off my bill. So all in all A PERFECT EXPERIENCE
Good spot, although I like the location in Fitzrovia one more. Their pizzas are great, and their brunch spread is good! Conveniently located near Bank station.
Very interesting and broad menu with various influences. We had burrata salad, seabass crudo and pork schnitzel. Cocktails are also nice. And desserts a bit simple. Overall a nice place but so loud sadly. Difficult to have a proper talk.
Had a leisurely brunch here and was delighted. Unlike other Caravans, City has a relaxed weekend vibe with extra cosiness. Food is well portioned, and beautifully tasty. Great range of teas, coffee, ferments and juices although there isnt an especially wider range of baked goods available on the weekend. Service is friendly and attentive, without being rushed. I imagine it can be Considerably busier in the week given prime location near Bank tube and Cannon Street rail and underground.
Great new place in the City. Good food and friendly staff. The asparagus and eggs was delicious! I would have liked more fresh salad options.Nice outside area as well for the warm evenings.
This is a great place to have brunch, lunch, or a coffee whether you are alone or with company. I love that they have a high table with stools and papers laid out on the table as it reminds me of the cafe culture in Melbourne, Australia. The food is creative, tasty, and satisfying. The coffee excellent, and ambience perfect. As a side note, I much prefer the City restaurant to Kings Cross. There is more light (much larger windows), it feels more spacious, and isnt as massively crowded as Kings Cross (for Sunday brunch).
*Top pick* - Ginger cake with poached pearLively place in the new Bloomberg building complex. We were on the hunt for some late night pud and struggled to find anything open. After being halted at the closed doors of the Royal Exchange cafe, we were glad to find that Caravan was still open and serving dessert! It has a good selection of tea and cake. We had the pumpkin cheese cake and the ginger cake. The cheese cake was the healthy kinds with pumpkin seeds in its base, however it was too heavy after a few bites. The ginger cake on the other hand was extremely delicious and paired well with the poached pear 🍐UPDATE - Went there again today for a quick bite and were greeted warmly by the staff. Their allergen menu was very elaborate and impressive (they even labelled dishes with sulphur dioxide!?). Being a cod fanatic I decided to take my chances with the curry style cod served with chaat masala dal and lime pickle. For £19 a plate, I was disappointed with the fish as it was quite chewy and the portion size was rather small. The poached chicken salad and the pizzas were definitely better value!⭐namobytes ~ little bytes of insight⭐Their bathrooms have a shared sink area but whats cool and unique about it is that their hand wash is a scrub! Instant mini hand spa for clean and exfoliated hands 👏😊
Food is undoubtedly tasty. But portion sizes are on the smaller side and its quite pricey for what it is. Service was reasonable until we asked for the bill, at which point they took forever to take payment. "Its OK" is probably how I would describe it.
The latest branch from Caravan and one of the first restaurants to open at Bloomberg Arcade, it serves Australian cafe style sharing plates and mains. Inventive dishes combining ingredients that you mightnt think would work together - but they mostly do here. Friendly service and excellent coffee as always. Light-filled, relaxing dining room, though it was a bit too warm when we visited. Will try their famed pizza next time.
