This will take you many visits to explore each trail just once, let alone several visits. Need to get away from all the noise? Go here, bring a camera/phone, water, and just enjoy. The caregiver is EXTREMELY helpful and friendly as well, fantastic experiences.

Really well marked trails. More of a terrain challenge than a vertical elevation. Nice relaxing trail. Great views

A nice hike- almost exclusively level ground, scenic streams/bridges/ponds, and a field to watch swallows swoop around. Well marked trails make it easy to navigate, as well as having several full maps located on the trail. There are several trail options that can increases or decrease your walking time, marked with different colors. *Ticks* Make sure to wear long pants and high socks, as we did find a tick on my son after our hike.

Such a lovely, clean and well maintained place! The last time I was there it had snowed recently so it was very easy to observe animal prints and movement through the preserve. I saw the prints of deer, coyote, fox, and a bobcat. I think if you were to get there early in the day and walked very quietly you could probably spot a lot of these animals, but all it takes is one noisy group to clear animals out of the area. The parking is free, the trails are beautifully marked. No dogs allowed.

An amazing experience! The caretaker was like a long lost brother, as he tenderly guided us away from muddy patches. The paths were well maintained and plentiful. Bluebirds added pops of color and life upon the winter landscape, whilst clubmosses, lichens, and the laughter of children warmed us during our chilly December walk. All in all, this unassuming park in the middle of Seekonk gets a 10/10 in my book.

I have called Caratunk twice for information about not feeding/feeding our wild birds. I was concerned about the odd illness stretching from the southern states up. They answered the phone promptly, no 15 minute waits or rudeness. I spoke with a woman who was friendly, and informative and shared what she knew about the illness. When to stop using our feeders and when it was safe to restart. I am appreciative and relieved about the information given.

Members night at Caratunk was an enjoyable escape from every day. The staff was well versed and eager to share information about animals, birds, bugs, astronomy and local wildlife. A 2nd food truck would have been a good addition. If you get the opportunity, I suggest a visit. Its close by and on the walking trails, you will not realize how easy it is to forget the city is only a few miles away.Stop by and become a member.

Lots of wildlife and natural beauty for young and old to enjoy. The muskrat pond loop floods during rainy seasons. its about 90 minutes if you take the longest trail.

Free and plenty of parking. Trails are impressively marked. The park and trails were immaculate with no trash noted. Surprisingly there was more shade than I had originally expected but I was still happy that I brought an umbrella for sun protection as there are some wide open add exposed parts to this trail. This park offers a perfect opportunity for a beginners hike for families and children. No pets allowed. This park is located on private property. Educational opportunities available. Cool rock formations throughout. There were a few bugs but nothing biting. Select few trails were closed off for habitat restoration. The pond white trail appeared to have a detour due to flooding but again clearly marked. I saw many birds and frogs but no other wildlife but I did go mid afternoon on a 90° day. All in all this is a well-kept and wonderful place to explore.

Great trail for beginners. My 10yo son and I use it for practice hikes before heading to NH. However, it really is a great spot. Lots of beautiful views.

I LOVE this place. It has become my happy place. Bridges, brooks and birds! A little bit of climbing is necessary for the perimeter but plenty of different biomes to experience on the walk.

Loved the birds here. My friend had her binoculars. We saw two hawks, and all the little swallows. It was cool hearing the peepers too. The trails are marked nicely. Parking lot fills up quick. Id stick to coming during the week. Its peaceful inside their woods.

This is a hidden gem. Wide and well maintained trails with pleasant variety in scenery, from woods to open fields to a small lake. In the summer there were lots of birds and we think we saw a muscrat in the lake. Great for a leisurely afternoon walk.

On a recent sunny Sunday afternoon I decided to tape the Patriots game and drive over to the Caratunk Wildlife Refuge on a beautiful early November day and it was one of the nicest days I have spent this fall. The trails were all well maintained and the fall colors were spectacular. I went in the early afternoon before most of the wildlife comes out, but the fall colors were breath taking. If you are looking for an area with a variety of trail types from flat to slight hills this is your area.

If you havent been hiking here in awhile, you will be pleased with the new trail signs and cleaned up walkways. The beautiful Stone wall alongside the fields has been exposed as well after being overgrown by Vines and trees for years.

I love Caratunk. Went there a few weeks ago and there were a bunch of people redoing the parking lot and building new walkways from the parking lot. They were super friendly and assured us they would be going out to the trails to maintain them (it was a really muddy day). Cant wait to use the trail all winter now that I know how much they maintain it.

This a great family friendly spot to hike. They are currently renovating the parking lot area and some other space for improvements for guests. Be sure to grab a map as some of the trails can be long for younger kids. Also - keep an eye open for wild turkeys - Ive seen groups of them on the paths!

Ive been wanting to hike here for about 2 months now, and I finally got my chance today! Perfect weather day for this lovely place. I was there for about 3 hours total. Walked the Perimeter Trail in its entirety, as well as the Hemlock, Observation Trail, and Muskrat Pond Loops (saving Coles Brook for a subsequent visit). All trails were fairly easy (just watch your step around protruding stones and tree rootsand very well marked/blazed. This lovely Refuge ranges from the outright beautiful to the sublime. Well worth a day visit, and I strongly recommend (after liberally dousing with insect repellenttaking ample time to revel in the sights/smells/sounds (barring civilization noiseseverywhere. Everything from the miniscule and humble to magnificent is on display here. Cant wait to go again!

A great walk with the family. We were looking to get some exercise in the shade and this place was perfect. Although there are trails that take you through sunny fields, the majority had plenty of shade. There is so much to see! The perimeter trail is 1.8 miles but there are add on loops that will allow you to hike for as much or as little as you can handle. It is a quiet serene place to enjoy wildlife, so not for louder kids or adults. Use insect repellent and still check for ticks. I found 1 dog tick and 2 deer ticks. Even so, that will not keep me away. This place is too wonderful!

Took small group of scouts on an hour long hike, the manager of the space opened the main structure to our group and gave us a few minutes worth of conversation on our experience, and some interesting facts regarding the wild life, trail conditions, and opportunities for the next visit. I could not have asked for more from the visit.

Not worth going out of ones way to visit, but for those in the area the trails through the woods are worth exploring. Expect mosquitos. Detailed maps available free of charge, and the trails are well marked. Free parking on site.
