Nice bathing area but smaller than expected. The open steam sauna and salt room were disappointing.

We went to Baden Baden and as we are Spa enthusiasts, we could not miss the Caracalla Spa. It was overall a nice experience. I felt it was clean, it was big enough to keep yourself busy for 3 hours. I especially reccomed the upper floor and saunas (the naked part). One star off for while it was fun, it missed a bit of relaxing ambience.Oh and P. S. The people here complaining that you cant take pictures and have your phones inside - you guys are crazy. We saw a girl in the pool taking selfies and then arguing with the staff when they kindly asked her to put her phone away. If you cant be witouth your phone for 2 hours, you have a problem.

Spa pools were wonderful with good massaging effects. Went on a Monday morning which was a good thing as the human traffic was much less than a weekend and one can enjoy more of the peace that the baths and saunas can offer. However, I had a very unpleasant experience with my bath towels being stolen. Went with my own disposable bath towels at the start. They might have looked slightly small or lacking as a towel, but they were definitely good enough to cover me. Anyway, i was on the nudist level so who cares about the size of the towel. On level 2, the staff promptly suggested to my husband that we can rent towels from them, which we did. Went around exploring the spa baths on level 2 followed by level 1. I left the rented towels and my folded disposable towels on a chair on level 1 and went for the outdoor spa pool. And guess what, when we came back, the towels were gone. We approached the counter and a lady rudely and sarcastically told us that it was our right to look after our own belongings. I did not even get the chance to ask if someone might have cleared the rented towels by accident, along with my neatly folded unused disposable bath towels. All the lady did was to raise her voice and sound like we were irresponsible people. It was only after I mentioned that I had also lost my own towels that she stopped yelling. As we had no bath towels to dry ourselves, the counter staff had no choice but to pass us 2 towels so we could dry ourselves. When we came back, the same lady was yelling at us, insisting that we have to pay for the towels, that we cannot use them for free and sounding blaming. Until 2 other elderly people at the counter had to ask what happened. I really think she was being very mean and condescending. We had not mentioned anything about not paying for the towels. Come on, i lost my own towels too man.Germany is overall a very safe place. Even my expensive swimsuit did not get stolen when i left it at the side on level 2. I have difficulty believing that 2 wet blue rented towels, along with my own disposable bath towels were stolen. Was it a mistake that someone cleared them away and we were made to pay for the towels? Moral of the story - bring your own towels. I should have insisted on using my own towels and at least, I would not have felt the pinch paying 15euro each for some lousy towel. The way we were treated when we “lost” the towels left a sour taste. Towels rental are definitely overpriced.

Amazing experience and would definitely do it again. Really loved the aroma steam room. Our German vacation was a 20,000 step a day trip so a spa day was a welcomed joy!

Tourist beware, they will try to falsely overcharge you. I would give negative 5 stars if I could.*Review edited and reposted*The dishonest management informed me in their reply that they are trying to have my review removed because it featured a photo of their employee. However if you look through at the thousands of photos, there are many pictures that people have posted with their employees in them. And in those responses, they praised the reviewer. So they only try to report and remove those reviews that are not positive. And in response to their reply, they didnt care when I made the complaint at the spa, so the only reason they care now is to look positive to anyone reading the review.--------------------------------------------We went here expecting a nice relaxing spa day, and it turned out to be anything but. When we first arrived, the unkind woman at the front desk told us we could not pay with credit card, because the machine was too difficult to work.So we paid cash, no problem. They also would not accept my guest card they gave a discount from hotel Rathausglöckel. She told me they did not accept those cards. Then she told us we could not use our own towels that we brought, she told us we had to use their rental towels, according to her it is the spa policy. We didnt have any more cash on us and I told her that all I had was credit card, which she then said was fine. This is completely contradictory to her earlier statement that the credit card machine was too hard to work.Anyway, we went to the changing room, then on to the spa.We had purchased the spa and sauna package, but the spas were only halfway open at 11:00 a.m.The main indoor pools were reserved so we could not use the indoor pool. The 100° f pool was shut down for cleaning, so the only pools we could use were the outdoor pool or the 60° f pool. After soaking in the outdoor pool for about 30 minutes, we decided to go to the upstairs sauna.Despite having already paid for the spa and sauna package, we still had to pay an additional 5 euros each to go up to the sauna. The upstairs sauna area was nice, with a large indoor sauna, there are two outdoor saunas as well that were quite nice. After spending some time up there, we went back down to the indoor pool, which still had a private event going on, there was some trainer doing water sports with clients there.I feel they should have disclosed to us the fact that we could not use the pools due to a private event. After we left, spending approximately an hour and a half there, we turned in our towels and paid for the towel rental which we were told were 6 euros each, for a total of 12 Euros. This time they accepted credit card.. they could not provide me a receipt, because the printer was not working allegedly, so we left. When I later checked my credit card statement, they had charged me $126 Euros, which equates to approximately 126 US dollars at the moment.Confused by the amount, since the cashier told us it was a charge of 12 Euros for the towel rental. I called to speak to someone, but no one was willing to explain in any way shape or form how 12 Euros went to 126.Keep in mind, we did not make any purchases other than the forced rental bath towels. We did not eat there, we did not rent a locker, nor purchase anything else, and the main entry fees with paid with cash.Fortunately American Express has my back, and took care of the fraudulent charges that Caracalla charged me.After reading other reviews, its apparent that similar issues have happened to other people as well.

I would not recommend this Spa. Especially the sauna area was disappointing: very small, not much choice in sauna options, restaurant looked like a school cantine and the area is cold and not cozy.Me and my partner often go to the Dutch thermen Bussloo and Berendonck. Compared to these, this Spa is really a disappointment.Coming back from this Spa we smelled like chlorine all over. This is definitely not the case coming from other quality spas we often go.Also, the pictures from the Spa make it look like its classical old. Being there it is just plastic and old rather than classical. On top, the personnel at the entrance did not make us feel welcome. It is really a cold business transaction rather than a warm welcome. In summary, I cannot give this place more than 3 stars just because the swimming area was okay and then I am still being generous.

Worst spa Ive ever been in.The changing room smelled like a public portable toilet, it was quite disgusting. There was a man taking pictures of us, we complained to the staff and they laughed about it, and told us not to worry so much.Picture taking is a violation of the spa rules, but they dont enforce it.The same man who was taking pictures, followed us up to the sana area where theres no bathing suits allowed, and tried taking pictures up there. We complained again to a different staff member, and she told us there was nothing she could do.My sister and I felt very unsafe there, and would not recommend it for any other solo women.

Wonderful Thermal bathing with or without Romanesque sauna and spa options. My partner and I really enjoyed our afternoon here at Caracalla Spa. The venue is extremely busy with lines of about 30 folk waiting for entry due to over demand of lockers. But the wait is worth it. Remember you will be charged for the time you spend in the venue (including showing and time changing clothes). Lockers are provided with your entrance fee and are open and closed using a wristband housing proximity detectors (just remember not to forget your locker number). Lockers are available in big and small; some the size of a small shoeboxs and others large enough to fit a suit in.You can hire towels and pay extra for the Romanesque sauna and spa. There are so many wonderful saunas and spas to try in the Romanesque area but they are to be accessed without swimwear attire. This Romanesque area is unisex for all items including toilets, showers, spas, saunas, solarium, bathing, relaxing, and sunning areas. There is no hot saunas other than in the Romanesque area which is upstairs from the cafe in the main indoor pool area via the spiral stair case. This venue is enormous and will take you a good two hours to really enjoy all it has to offer. There is also a “Wellness” fitness salon which you can book their services. In every area there are cafes and you can use you wristband to order and finalize the bill on the way out. There are hair driers, heaps of showers, toilets, and bathing hot and cold pools. You can catch a train to Baden-Baden station and the the 201 bus which delivers you close to the Caracalla Spa and work the 200 meters the reset of the way.

Top! Great thermal swimming pool area. Different pools and great vibe. No photos allowed inside spa area.Parking onsite - first 2 h reduced rate of 50cents per hour, don’t forget to stamp your ticket at the cash desk.Shower cabins are separated, hair dryers are very powerful.Be sure to come earlier and avoid crowds. Not visiting saunas, 2 h was not enough to enjoy pools, try to get at least 3h.Sun terrace is nice and spacious. One of the best thermal areas I’ve been too.Drinking water zone just next to the entrance in the main hall.

The bath is not thermal. The waiting line is very long regardless of having an online ticket or buying a ticket at the counter. The waiting time might take more than half an hour. The personal are not friendly. The sauna area is only accessible for naked people and no mentioning of this before buying the ticket.

No idea what the last reviewer is on about, we had the same front desk lady with the red hair and the bright lipstick, on the same day, and she was absolutely delightful and charming. She helped us very well and made our stay all the more pleasant. The baths themselves are good and comfortable and offer everything one hopes for in this kind of place.

Such a wonderful experience! Definitely bring your kids above 7 if you want to spend a great family moment.Infrastructures (locker rooms, showers, indoor and outdoor bathsare absolutely amazing, and we will definitely come back!On the downside, we had a bad experience with the first agent we met, who had a very condescending attitude when the credit card terminal refused our Visa for an unknown reason. She directed me to the ATM downstairs who was out of order, so I had to take a 10 min walk to find one outside which finally worked. When I came back, I was fortunate to meet Eugene, who also kindly informed that we could get 1 hour free when we pick 2 or 3 hours until end of July (another thing that the first agent forgot to mention). And he even offered some snacks to our kids! Some people are just better than other when it comes to customer service 😉

We were actually really disappointed by the facilities, the whole thermen (including sauna welt upstairsfelt old and not well maintained. The lounge area did not come across as relaxing at all, and the overall experience resembled spending time in an old fasioned bathroom than a world famous spa. But on the bright side customer service proved to be really helpful, and did return our money when we decided to leave the place after 15 or 20 minutes of stay.

Visited with my wife. Clean area plenty of places to chill out. Restaurants is ok not amazing but enough for a place like this. Lots and lots of saunas both indoor and outdoor area. Staff are ok and they will help if you have any questions.Upstairs is naked only. Bring 3 big towels. One for your shower when you are done. One to sit on in the saunas and one to dry off in the sauna area.Outdoor pool is so nice. Was raining when we were there which made it even better. Swimming in the rain 👍

We waited for 15 min at the queue for the lady at the register to tell us they only took cash. She pointed out a small sign which said “no cash”. That was the only sign that had that information at the register at the end of the queue. The woman at the register was quite rude too.

Fun experience. If you are wondering which bath is better, then if youre looking for fun and variety and modern, this is the one to choose. One can easily spend a full day here as there are reading areas, restaurants and bar available. however, I prefer the Roman Irish bathes because I had no one to make out with nor girl friends to chit chat with. at the Roman Irish bath it is strictly prohibited to talk, here you can still hear people talking and making out in the big pools. Theres a lot of pools to choose from. For 5 euros more you get the naked sauna upstairs which is worth it just to experience one. For me the saunas upstairs were too hot and I didnt take my necklace off which was burning my neck. Every hour on the hour theres a "show" of the staff changing the scent of the speculum sauna room upstairs. She will personally fan you hot air and explain what she is doing in German. She will also call you out if you are wearing any piece of clothing and if your feet isnt covered by the towel. It felt like a concert although it was too hot for me to stay for the whole show. The lukewarm pools downstairs felt wonderful after the sauna upstairs. The steam room downstairs is also nice. Lots and lots of people so I wouldnt call it relaxing. Great for couples (maybe not for a first date upstairs naked at the sauna??And groups. Hotel guest card gives you an hour free here.

A very unique experience. It is very relaxing. The place is not too busy. I went to experience a thermal bath and it was very much worth it, they have a very hot pool, very cold pool, main mineral pool, outside mineral pool and outside heated mineral pool. There is also a sauna but that you pay separately, prices are good and its very clean. The water gets tested as well. The coned roof of the main pool looks amazing. I spent about three hours there and it never got boring and apparently its very good for your skin. I Dont have pictures since obviously you were not allowed in a pool/bath.Right now its quite hard to reach by car because of a road closure so it results in a 700 metre walk.

The main area is really just one big warm pool, you only need about 10 to 15 minutes in there before you wonder why you’re still there… Definitely pay the extra five euro to go upstairs, be advised it’s all naked, that’s where the good sign is and hot tubs areDefinitely not a bad experience, but wasn’t anything special.

Pleasant experience. Was served by a staff called Anila. She was trying her best to explain to us what to do while in the spa despite her limited English. It was very sincere and we appreciate it very much! The spa area itself is very clean and well maintained. There was an emergency alarm which went off suddenly, staff were calm and composed and advised us what to do next. Recommended.

Good place to relax: inside and outside pools, 2 hammams, saunas from 60° to 90°, restaurant and bar. Confortable and clean, stuff are respectful, besides one receptionist (with red hair and black glasseswho literally yelled on me because I touched a hair dryer at 10 pm. After that the manager promised me to talk with her but I still dont know if Ill come back...Anyway, if you go out before 10 pm, its a good, friendly and relaxing place.

First of all, I must say that I am very impressed with the service here. We had a very good sauna experience as well as food that was better than I expected. But what you should be careful of, especially women with very long hair. The hair dryer here doesnt have a cover at the end of the hair dryer so it sucks in my hair. If I had noticed and had been more careful, it probably wouldnt have happened. However, I have informed the staff.Anyway I love it here !!!!We will definitely visit here again 🤍🤍🤍

Caracalla Therme in Baden Baden is one of our favourite places to visit and spend a whole day there soaking in the hot water, relaxing under the jets, or in the hot tub, sauna + steam room. We are longing to get back there after the pandemic. There is a great choice of pools, hot and cold + a lazy river for a bit of fun. The restaurant has tasty meals.

I went there twice during my 4-day visit in Baden-Baden. There is a spacious pool (not so many people during this corona-crisis), outdoor whirl pools and warm bath. For me, the best part is actually the sauna (Spectaculumwith various kinds of essential oil every hour and the outdoor sauna places.Although the choices are not as many as some of the Thermen in Germany, it is still worth visiting to have a relaxing time here.Because of the current, they tried really hard to fit the government’s regulations. I appreciated that, but there is simply too much chloride added in the pools. My skin, hairs and my eyes were a bit irritating when I went there. Besides, some places are not open, but I would definitely visit again when this crisis is over.

First of all, was not able to find any info about what to bring etc. online and offline. Paid €16 per pax just for the 2hrs Caracalla spa. The spa facilities are clean. There are 3 sections of Caracalla spa, 1 indoor and 2 outdoors. Was not impressed at all, can get a better quality in Asia clubhouse. But keep in mind the water temperature is only 34’C (do not expect it to be japan hot springRenting a towel is €6(€15 deposit). This whole place is overrated, I guess it was a must-do experience but definitely will not go there again.Tips for others:-Bring your own swimsuit- bring your own towels- bring slippers- lockers are free(lockable with the key/watch)- if you stay in a nearby hotel, bring the bathrobe over- don’t bring your kids over after 8pm? The childcare facility close around 8?- please book for the spa, no walk-in because it’s all full

I been traveling for 26 days when I came to Baden-Baden, my last stop on my journey before going home. What is better ending than going to a spa to get all travel dust off.Caracalla was the right place to goto, located close to the city center, it offer both indoor and outdoor pools. The water in the pools rang from 18 Celsius to 38 Celsius something for everyone. The changing room is unisex, showers are separated men and women. There are also Saunas, steam room a few other spa services. This was a great end to my journey.

I have seen many SPA centers, but this one definitely has its own spirit. The level of services is definitely satisfactory, and the choice of baths is huge; thus, everyone is able to find what he or she needs. As for me, the Blue room is perfect for relaxation and mindfulness. Also, the outside swimming pool is great to feel the contrast with nature during the German mild winter.
