Outstanding! Had our first trip with Captain Wayne 11 days ago and we enjoyed it so much that we booked a second trip. The first trip was amazing. Lots of birds to see and lots of information provided by Captain Wayne. We were lucky enough to see whales. The second trip surpassed the first. Not quite as many sea birds, but we saw eagles. Then we were treated to a small pod of 5/6 whales. One of them was having a lot of fun breaching, waving his fins and slapping his tail. One of the most incredible sights I have seen.

Puffins, eagles, seagulls and murres, so many birds on Gull Island!And of course, the whales!Captain Wayne was awesome. Smaller boat so less people on board and captain Wayne is great to talk to. Hes very patient and makes sure your see what you came for.

Just ourselves, the captain and his son. Smooth, no rush, and full whales and puffins.

Wonderful size tour...only 9 guests total. Captain Wayne stayed out until we got the whale tail shot . Then we "chased" a pod of dolphins to see them. We were able to look the puffins in the eyes! Captain Wayne is knowledgeable and funny. Great trip and well worth the money!

It was wonderful! Very pleasant man and knowledgeable about the coast. Provided very large warm life coats. We seen a whale! Worth the price!

This tour is heavily weather dependent and we were informed by email that the date/time we booked was cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions but were given a chance to reschedule to another operating date/time which was great because our itinerary was packed.When we arrived, it was a small group (which we preferand it was straight forward to get sorted out and prepared. We were given special PFD coats that would keep us warm and provide the necessary safety. The coats didn’t smell and were a welcome piece of equipment as it was chilly on open water. Kids get a regular PFD to my recollection so if you have young kids, I would suggest to dress them in the appropriate layers or double check with Capt. Wayne.The boat is a comfortable ride and I felt very safe despite the open ocean trek to the island. You will get wet. Captain Wayne is knowledgeable and a good guide in providing lots of details and background about marine life and the surrounding area. You will not be disappointed. We did not see whales on our trip but we were probably nearing the end of the season so it wasn’t surprising but I bet it would have been fun to get close to them in the water. Despite that, it was a trip worth doing and I would certainly do it again.

Just an awesome captain. Nice sized tour with only 5 people including myself and my partner. Willing to change up their plans based on the interest of the group.

We spent a spectacular afternoon with Captain Wayne today, getting superb pictures of a pod of Whales feeding on Caplin in south Witless Bay. As he promised, we had whales close by virtually 360 degrees - biggest challenge was which way to look/point our camera! His smaller boat was able into the whale feeding areas the larger boats cant. Thanks for a memorable tour, Captains Wayne!

I had the pleasure of taking my parents on Captain Waynes today. I had never gone whale watching before, but some Captain Wayne came highly recommended from some friends. We could not have been happier! Its a smaller boat and they had good jackets for everyone as part of the trip.Captain Wayne was very personable. He had a wealth of knowledge on the all the different variety of birds, whales and the iceberg we saw. And he was genuinely excited to show us the wildlife. He spent just the right amount of time letting us get plenty of pictures.I would highly recommend Captain Waynes Marine Excursions to anyone that wanted a more intimate wildlife experience. THE BEST!!!This is by far the best tour company for Whale and Bird watching tours. Captain Wayne and crew with their 50 plus years of experience are the most knowledgeable we have ever encountered. Our tour was very intimate as we sailed by thousands of puffins we had clear unubstructed views of the whales that were swimming and playing all around the bay.If you are lucky enough to visit during peak whale season I strongly recommend going on Captain Waynes. Thank you Captain Wayne! Our goal was to see and learn. You and Deb helped us do exactly that. We were lucky enough that it was a slightly overcast and quiet day and were able to book a private tour. No whales, but we have a whole new understanding and respect of local geography, the fishing industry and birding. Youre right, the puffins are so cute! Awesome tour!! Small guide companies are the best...super knowledgeable, friendly, safe and very happy. Had a great time and great trip! Saw a few whales, puffins, eagles and an awesome iceberg close up!
