No-frills outpost with a military & emergency-personnel decor featuring hot dogs & outdoor dining.
Neat place. Lots of choices for hot dogs. Had the regular dog. Pretty darn good. Will have to try one fried next time. Lots of outdoor seating or to go. No indoor seating. Owners super nice. Definitely worth a stop for your hot dogfix.
A solid lil hit dog stand! A quaint spot to stop in for a laid back quick bite. Fries are fantastic!Murica!!!!
Awesome place that supports and honors Emergency Services.
Amazing variety of Hot dogs and a really cool decor
Will definitely be going back! Food was great, everyone was friendly, prices were reasonable!
This is a hidden gem in Lawrenceville; great casual place for hot dogs, sandwiches and ice cream! I love all the creative and unique combos with hot dog and sandwich toppings. I have not tried the ice cream yet but definitely want to in the future. Theres military and firefighter decor and memoriabila and a beautiful outdoor displays of flags and patriotic wooden cutouts, including The Statue of Libertynear picnic tables. It was great to sit outside and enjoy a delicious hot dog topped with baked beans and potato salad. Theres a beautiful outdoor patio with wooden cutouts of very realistically painted dogs( that each have a nameand lots of people were enjoying the delicious food, beautiful weather and.relaxing atmosphere. What a spectacular find; I will definitely be coming back and I would highly recommend a visit here!
Tried this one day for lunch with a colleague. Unfortunately to order fried food was a 40 minutes wait. The ice cream was good . Im sure the fried dogs are much more tasty but I was unable to grab one
Always a great meal. Staff is very friendly. Sitting outside in the fresh air is always nice.
Hot dog was barely warmed, boiled maybeReally not very appetizing
β€οΈπ€ππ½πΊπΈ First visit and loved it!Coast Guard Fries were delish!
Was really pleased to find these guys have a veggie hot dog available! Large menu of assorted hot dogs, sandwiches, snacks and ice cream. Shoestring fries were hot, crispy and perfectly done. Owner and staff were friendly and food was served quickly. As the Terminator is famous for saying.. "Ill be back".. ππ
Best hot dogs in town and a very friendly staff too!
When we get hotdogs π we only go to 2 places and this is one of them. I guess Im biased in my support of Mom & Pop shops. Great service, friendly environment and real milkshakes!!!
Excellent customer service. Hotdogs are 100% beef with many options of toppings. Funnel cake fries with the powdered sugar on top are delicious as well. Plenty of parking. Outdoor dining as well. Ice cream is served there too with many options of toppings
This place is fantastic for its patriotism - and the food is great too! A great treat!
Captain Pauls brings hot dogs to a whole new level. If you havent gone yet, be prepared to take some time to look over the many ways they serve hot dogs. And then be prepared to get hooked on the many ways they serve up hot dogs lol.
Wonderful service! Ive been here numerous times and Ive been very satisfied every time. If you want a great tasting hotdog with all the trimmings, this is the place to go.
I liked the food and the patriotic spirit of the people. The buffalo chicken sandwiches are great.
Great place and the owners were friendly food was awesome. Every Tuesday night they have a cruise night, it was great seeing some of the old classics.
I was in the area and my partner hyped up Captain Pauls for the longest time and Im so glad they were open because this is somewhere I am willing to drive HOURS for because of how great the food was and how amazing and genuine the atmosphere felt inside!I ordered the Thin Blue Line hot dog with a side of Sweet Potato Fries and a kiddie cup of their swirl soft serve ice cream and WOW it was amazing! The Thin Blue Line had a good balance of BBQ sauce and ranch with bacon bits that brought a nostalgic taste to my mouth that I never expected! The Sweet Potato Fries were the BEST Sweet Potato Fries Ive ever had! They didnt taste like any other fries Ive ever had before and that alone made my day! Im normally not a fan of them but these fries they served were enough to change my stance! The soft serve ice cream was really good as well! We started dipping the fries in them and it made the experience even better because it was a combo that worked so well!Definitely will be coming back here to bring my family because this place hit a warm spot in my heart and I love supporting local businesses that loves to help others with not only food but volunteer work!
I love everything about this place. The food is excellent and the family that runs it really puts in the effort to make sure that everyone has a good experience. They are a huge asset for our local community.
Delicious food esp the hot dogs with Cole slaw. The nicest most generous owners to the community as well as to their customers. Really appreciate them always giving back to others as well as their food.
What a place for dogs. Like a million different ones. I really injoyed the one called the Green Beret . He has a ton of military, fireman , and first responder patches, helmets, etc. the place is packed with stuff. Love the place and the owner is a super nice guy. Ross
First time here. Food is amazing. Service is excellent. Experience is awesome! Would deff come here again. The name for this place fits perfect. This place is Lit! π―πππ₯
It sucks to recieve your order and its not prepared the way you asked for it. Asked for a fried double dog peppers onions No mustard. I received my double dog that wasnt fried, bread was soggy and it had mustard on it. Way to many peppers that was also soggy. Why are the peppers and onions steamed or boiled? Bland. Never again, Waste of money.
My husband Jon is also a retired Captain from Trenton Fire Department. π₯ We went for the first time to eat at Captain Pauls Firehouse Dogs. It was absolutely fabulous. Everything you would want for toppings. We both had the Signal 22. Jon called it an " Italin Hot Dog π, I called it pretty damm good. They have ice cream π¦too.
First time trying. I will journey very far for a good hotdog. This was a good hotdog. My wife had the rueben. She couldnt finish it because it was so big. Very reasonable prices. Would go back again.
A MUST-VISIT spot in Lawrence for the whole family! Clean and delicious hotdogs, a popping fun menu, and their Italian ice and ice cream options are perfection. Weβve been going there for over 10 years! Youβll keep going back for Paul and Janice for sure β€οΈ they make sure youβre taken care of at every visit
Five out of five for food and service! The owners are extremely kind and the food was perfection. Its a cool little spot with great souvenirs decorating the inside and small service counter to place your order. There is plenty of outside seating and umbrellas so if its a gloomy day you can still enjoy some good eats.My girlfriend loved the hot dogs, one was called the Mike Day with tater tots, cheese, chili and bacon bits and the other was just a plain boiled dog and she loved them both. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich with Buffalo mozzarella sticks and Bleu cheese and that was great as well. I decided on this place for the fact that they had other options than just hot dogs so if you have a picky eater in the family or want good atmosphere but not in the mood for a dog this is a great little spot. Thanks for the great food and great service! We will be back again soon!
Never once been disappointed in the food OR the service! Captain Pauls is one of my absolute FAVORITE places to be. My daughter is also very much obsessed! We will forever choose captain Pauls as our go to for hotdogs, fries, sandwiches and ice cream! π
Paul and Janice Tweedly have the perfect place for the best Hot Dogs around. Having gone there too many times to count I can always count on great service and great food. I always look forward to saying hello to Paul and Janice who make your stop there the icing on the cake. I love Captain Paulβs Firehouse Dogs and I highly recommend that no matter how far you are you should stop and grab a bite. As I wrote this I am enjoying one of their hot dogs. Delicious
Highly recommend! Outdoor dining. Plenty of options on the menu. Everybody in my family enjoyed their food. I got the EMT, chicken tenders & mozzarella sticks on a long roll with marinara sauce- very good. Fries, tots & onion rings were super crunchy! We even saved room for ice cream. We had regular sized sundaes which were the perfect amount. Sundaes came with whipped cream, cherry & sprinkles. I was impressed that they put fudge in the cup first, then ice cream, and then added more fudge on the sides. It was a perfectly made Sundae! Will go back again soon.
Starting our work day at 6:30AM, it is a testament to how much we love this restaurant because we talked about these hot dogs all morning until we grabbed lunch at noon. Awesome and wide variety of unique hot dog combinations. Iβm a big fan of the Chris Kyle as well as the FBI and Coastguard Fries. One of my favorite places to eat in NJ and the best hot dogs in the area.
This is my go to hotdog spot. Its a piece of America at its best. The owners are very welcoming and the food is old school road side grub. They also support firefighters, police, and service men/women...so go get a dog! They also have a great selection of ice cream and shakes.
My first visit here and I had the brownie sundae. Honestly, it tasted ok. However, the service was very friendly and the location seems like a great spot to hang out. Ill return for a hot dog next visit. I noticed another customers chili dog looked good.
Super awesome local stop. Great family restaurant. Kids enjoyed eating outside. Plenty of picnic tables.
Just great hotdogs plus other good food. Excellent service and staff.
This was my first visit. The staff was very friendly and there was a huge variety of dogs and sandwiches. And, the whole idea behind the place is fantastic! Oh, and they have ice cream too!
The menu has an interesting variety of hot dogs plus chicken sandwiches, the ice cream is yummy and the patriotic theme is great. The best part, though, is the staff and owners who are always friendly and go out of their way to make customers feel like family.
It was our first time there. I ordered milkshakes, and they were delicious. Very small inside, but theres more seating outside. Next time I go, Ill try the hotdogs, they looked good. Quick service, the staff and owners are friendly.
Awesome place. Very friendly, fast service, and good prices. Most importantly the food is great. Big menu to select from and can get hotdogs made to order if you want something specific. If you live in the area or are passing through you should definitely check this place out.
Captain Pauls is a MUST VISIT! Great food, great staff, great all around. Ive tried at least a dozen of their great specialty dogs and cant wait to try more. Support an excellent local business and enjoy a sweet milkshake to wash down a hot dog or two!
The atmosphere is great, the hotdogs are great. NOTE: if you want a nice crispy dog you have to order it fried. The menu is awesome so many choices. The ice cream is worth every calorie.
Have been driving past this place for years and decided to stop in the other day for lunch. Staff is over the top friendly and the decorations celebrate the Military and First Responders. Their menu items have sandwiches and hot dogs with names like "The Gunny", 2 Alarm" etc. Food is cooked fresh, served hot and very tasty. Would be a great place to take the kids and sit outside and see all the lawn ornaments. Basically a fun family dining experience. When you go, be prepared to eat outside as the inside counter only seats 6 or so.
Paul and Janice are great. Every time you walk in you are treated like family. After years of fire service, Captain Paul still finds ways to give back to the community. The food is the best around, its hard to come up with a favorite. You just have to try something different every time you go. They are always coming up with new menu items. If you have room after your meal, you have to try the ice cream. Paul thank you for your service and patriotism.
Ive been coming for years and have never had a bad experience at Captain Pauls, the food is great and prices more than fair. This is a true family establishment where young and old will feel at home. I cant suggest it enough. The owners of this establishment arent shy about celebrating the men and women of our armed and emergency services, and are very active in the community. More often than not it seems they are playing host to a fund raiser, or taking collections for local groups and charities. If Im going to spend a few dollars on a quick lunch, Id rather it go to a business that takes pride in their community and country than some faceless fast food chain, and I suggest you do as well.
Listen, The place is great they really aim to please. Great menu, great concept. BUT... I really wish u guys had some good beef snap dogs. You know natural casing dogs. So much better tasting. Its what you expect at a real hot dog place. Just my opinion but Im sure real hot dog lovers would like them. How about trying them on the menu? Sabret makes a great one. Im sure a local butcher has the product also. Thanks
This is one of my familys new haunts. The owner and staff are super friendly, the dogs are great and the ice cream is delicious. The large basket of fries is a big hit with my two little girls and we are destined to be there about once a week. Their dedication to police, firemen and members of the armed services is awesome. They have patches and badges from hundreds of different precincts and fire companies. Their military flags make you proud to be eating there and while the place always has a steady group of customers it seems well planned out enough that theres always places to sit. The owner even let my two little girls behind the counter to put the soft serve in their own cups. Cant speak highly enough about it. With all the extras added bonuses you get by being here Id highly recommend swinging by and partaking. You will become a regular too !
Great little Roadside restaurant that specializes in hot dogs. They offer a wide variety of hot dog toppings. I was a little disappointed because the hot dogs were boiled and I prefer grilled hot dogs but if you like boiled hot dogs you will really enjoy this place. This place is always crowded every time I drive by. The staff Is very friendly. This was my first visit but it will not be my last.
Great little spot for hot dogs, shakes, ice cream... everyone who works there is always very friendly, the food is tasty, and there are a lot of different options for hot dogs and sandwiches. The water ice is also very good. Theyre typically only open when the weather is nice, since all the seating is outdoors. Great place to go for a low-key tasty dinner!
