Me and my wife love coming here for Trivia…the Bartenders are always awesome always a great crowd any day of the week and always a absolute banger of a food truck whenever we go…so glad they are so close to our house!

This place is AMAZING!!! Great beer and the Employees are amazing. Customer service is top notch and the beer couldnt be better.

First time in this joint and I’m impressed by the cleanliness and staff - Morgan specifically who was a tremendous help tonight. She made me feel welcome and took care of my flight. I didn’t like one of the beers on my flight, so she let me try something different (watermelon sour). I’m very happy I stopped here, and would recommend this spot to anybody who is looking for a good brew. Blonde Ale & Vienna Lager had a lot of flavor. I’ve read other reviewers comments and couldn’t agree more…. The Staff is AWESOME!!! Thank you for a great time.

All the beers are good, and they have turned out good product since they opened. Ive been everywhere man, Ive been everywhere, and this is most consistently the best beer. The atmosphere is nice, and they have music, events, and food trucks regularly. They have changed brewers, and stayed the best beer on the peninsula. There might be other changes coming too, but the new things are being done responsibly, so I expect only good things.

Amazing bar, manager was super chill and helped with everything. Left before the live music, but the vibe was so relaxed.

Nice bar and lounge right off the main drag. Indoor seating was attractive and they have an outdoor area in the back of the building that is par for these new microbreweries. Will have to come back again and sample more flavors-lots to choose from!

Beer was great, atmosphere was great. They have a good array of beers depending on what you want! 10/10

Love the variety of events they host here! Theyve also got a small fridge for non-alcoholic beverages (juice boxes, sodas, sparkling water, etc.which is great.

Fantastic brewery option here in Hampton. Im in the area for work 2-4 times a year and always make sure to stop by. Their German styles are top notch.

Updating my review from a couple years ago. Capstan has done a great job refining their beers and always keeping something new in the rotation. They have also expanded their seating and many times have a food truck out back. They host some private events and have poker and game nights. There is also a bike ride from there on Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings during the riding season. It seems they are here to stay. 😁

My son and I went for the first time on a whim and it was the perfect and welcoming enviornment for us to enjoy a fun saturday night. BINGO was epic we won a round and that made our heart sing. I loved the staff there so amiable and kind. You guys nailed it!!! We will be back!!!

Bartender was inattentive. Walked away as I was ordering a drink to attend a regular I suppose. Didnt ask how our drinks were. No water. And handed the us the check after 1 beer. Place was filled with kids which is weird for a drinking area. As a person who comes from a brewery town this was a major let down. Not even food was an option.EDIT:In response to the owner, which thank you for reaching out so quickly! On your question of elaboration the counter top was filthy. We personally had to clean it ourselves which shouldnt have happened for a place not so busy. We werent greeted or directed to sit anywhere. As a small business its important to have workers who represent your family business and be welcoming to not just regulars but new comers! It was all very exclusive to new visitors. I hope this helps explain why this was a 1 star review and wish you luck on your business!

Good variety of beers, friendly staff, and fun events or live music most nights. There is a different food truck parked out back pretty much every day. Military friendly as well which is nice to see! Overall great establishment with a friendly and accommodating atmosphere. I’m currently enjoying a tangerine passionfruit gose. The kolsh is my all time fave.

Nice place, a bit off the beaten path. I would not have found it but my friend was playing here today One Eyed Jack. Flights are $10 today, my favorite is the Old School IPA.

A solid demonstration of the ability to craft beer. They have a good selection, and even the ones that not my favorite styles are well done.Enjoyed the Kolsch and the stout.

The best thing about this brewery are the employees! Yes the beer is good but feeling like youre a local when youre out of town, priceless! Morgan, the bartender, was exceptional, as was Adam, who is the general manager. If the apricot kolsch is on tap, get it!

Spacious, chill brewery with fun Bingo nights (Tuesday’s). Very yummy Oatmeal Raisin Brown Ale, Hard Apple Cider, and Coconut Delight Stout!

Had a fantastic time with my friends here playing beer pong! The beer is fantastic, you can even add glitter and different flavors! Really looking forward to their Mothers Day Event!Edited to add that they have outdoor seating that was very nice and they have free wifi!

I understand there is a mandate by the governor to where mask in all indoor spaces, however, I would never treat someone as their first time walking into a bar the way we where treated this evening. As soon as we walked in we are told if we did not where our mask we would be immediately kicked out. Apparently some other people who where with came last week and where not abiding by the mandate. As a first time visitor I was shocked to be treated that way. We had a great time but unfortunately will not be back because of the treatment we received based on other people who where not even with our party this time.

I cannot be more grateful to the staff of Captain brewing. Well I hate a mask as much as the next person I understand that its necessary for people like me who have an underlying condition and are trying to be as safe as possible and still want to get out and support local businesses. Capstan is mask friendly and mask enforcement and for people like me with bad health who are trying to keep some semblance of normalcy I could not be more grateful.

Capstan Bar Brewing Company is a great little spot tucked away over near Langley/Nasa. Servers are always friendly everything I go in there and the atmosphere is great. Plenty of different beers to choose from, no matter what style you like. Would highly recommend a visit here if youre passing through, or need a spot to hang out and throw a few cold ones back.

On our first visit we found the atmosphere to be fun, engaging and almost felt like wed been coming there for years. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. My wife and I very much enjoyed the trivia night, the selection of beers and general ambiance. We will be returning as often as we can to our new watering hole. I highly encourage anyone to check this place out and check their schedule of events as from the one we experienced it seems like they try to make the place fun and somewhere that you want to return to. The apparently have a rotating schedule of food trucks so you can get different food on the nights they have them.

This little gem is kind of tucked back off the main but once you find it youll definitely come back. Great place--dog friendly and following all the Covid protocols for your peace of mind, Capstan has awesome staff, live music, and a great selection of local beer, with some low ABVs for lightweights (meand some a little meatier for those want something a little meatier. Check it out, you wont be sorry.

Best beers in Hampton Roads! Fantastic brewery near NASA-Langley. Authentic, true to style flagship beers, and some outstanding specialty brews. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the taproom is always clean. Games, food trucks, and entertainment! Capstan is one of Hamptons little gems. What are you waiting for?

I just got out the army a month ago, originally stationed in Fort Drum, NY. I have been to breweries all up and down the east coast and I have to admit, THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF MY TOP 10 BREWERIES! I absolutely LOOOOOVEEEEE how military friendly they are. Their beer is quite lovely!!! I’m a huge stout and porter fan, I love the fact that they have 3 different stouts to choose from. The atmosphere= LIT, The staff= LIT, The Beer= LIT. This is definitely going to be my go to spot!!!!!!! THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE A FOOD TRUCK NAMED DD214 IS A GOOD REASON TO COME HERE!!! There’s events that they have posted on the wall like omg this brewery is awesome!!!! Capstan Bar Brewing Company, I salute you. This is literally love at first sight. IM DEFINITELY GOING TO BE A REGULAR HERE. ❤️❤️ The brown/blonde hair girl in the grey leggings that poured my tasting is lowkey cute 😉😙

We love Capstan! They have made us feel at home ever since we moved to the area in July. All of the employees really care about their customers and it shows. Our dog Juno also loves her time at Capstan! Fantastic events and very community involved. Great beer too!!

Capstan has quickly become our favorite brewery and "go to" spot. The staff is awesome...so friendly and welcoming. The beer is great! There is always something going on there. Highly recommend you check it out!

Capstan is a great place to come and make new friends and have a good beer. On Tuesday they have bingo night and it so fun. They have the funniest host call Sean Cornelius. You have to come out they have amazing gifts.

This is my 2nd time here and I really enjoyed both my visits. Great place to bring your dog and relax and play some bingo on a Tuesday night. You should definitely try it out.

Capstan is our go to place. The beer is outstanding, the beer tenders are all amazing and make you feel at home. It has a great atmosphere, come as you are vibe. Not to mention all the activities planned by a awesome event coordinator. You can find us there every week for bingo. Every other week for bingo with dogs!! It’s an awesome place..

Visits to CBBC are always worthwhile. With several taps featuring Kolsch to IPAs to Stouts, there is a delicious beer for every style of drinker. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and clearly interested in ensuring the customer has a positive experience. Last but certainly not least, the variety of events further ensures that positive experience, whether competing in trivia, singing along during music bingo, or getting lost in a song at a live performance. If you’ve yet to visit, you need to. And if you have, you need to go back soon.

Found this place with a google search, otherwise I would never know it was here. Very poor location for business but I’m glad we found it. Beer selection was great and they had live music. I prefer IPA’s and thoroughly enjoyed their Hazy IPA. Definitely will be going back again during one of their numerous specials/events.

Great place to go for a very tasty beer. Their Munich Dunkel is my current favorite. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. I highly recommend going over there on Friday evening for music bingo.

Im no beer expert, but Ive had a beer or two and these are GREAT. They have an awesome place if a little out of the way. Very laid back bar, not loud, has great bar games, local guitar players and the bar tender is awesome! Shes a great lady and the company is definitely mixed. Young professionals, roughnecks, GIs, Cross-Fit nuts (gym next door), but its a really cool place! Ill be back for another growler of Double IPA (not overly bitter or citrus-yand have my normal two pints of Old School. Well done guys!!

While its very unassuming from the outside, inside its a great time. Simply named and great tasting beers, fun themed week nights that gets everyone laughing, and fantastic service from everyone that works there. This little brewery 100% deserves your time!!

My friends thought the beer was outstanding.I went for the Burlesque show. That was fun and unusual.They have fun activities each week. The place is in an industrial park and off the beaten tract.5 stars for having some diet caffeine free things for me to drink. They have some packaged snacks.

Super clean place with a really relaxed atmosphere. I tried every one of the beers on tap and they were all a hit. I was a big fan of their brown ale. Like some of the other reviewers I’ll agree that there’s a level of quality here in the drinks you can appreciate. While they may not have a restaurant of their own, they have no shortage of awesome food trucks that roll through to offer patrons some good eats. Highly recommend giving this place a visit.

I got the flight of beers and enjoyed them all. Even the IPA(which I normally don’t care forwas good. The porter was my favorite and I hope they have a stout on tap soon. I liked that the beers were named “IPA” and “Porter”. The lack of cutesy names leaving me wondering what the hell kind of beer it is is appreciated. I can finally say that the peninsula has good beer.

Very nice facility! Great, friendly staff! They let us bring our dog inside and offered him a biscuit and a water bowl. Dog-friendly breweries are my weakness, so I’m sold. Loved the brews and the live music was so good! Duo called Blues You Can Use... amazing!

GREAT beers and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Experienced brewmaster of this family business knows his stuff! Roomy, comfortable interior away from the madding crowd. Great place for an after-work beer, an informal company get-together, or to just have a really good craft beer at a very reasonable price. A MUST for Hampton Roads beer tours. Try a flight of all their beers - you won’t be disappointed!

A little weird of a location. Its on the side of what looks like a business strip. The place is decorated simply and beautifully. Lots of seating! The beers surpassed my expectations. Great family owned business. Im excited to see this places future and especially excited to taste further beers. Great place for a group of friends or a date. Theyre going to start having local food trucks parked outside as well.Only gripe is that I wish the signage was better to direct you to the side of the building. Idk I might of missed it but I didnt see anything.
