Casual restaurant & sports bar serving beers, burgers & comfort food in Western-style environs.
Had the Bacon Queso Burger with green chilis. World class bar burger and terrific service. I’ll be back next time I’m in Lubbock!
Love it! Coldest Blue moon ever!! Service is the best!! Only one issue...they ran out of my Blue moon!😳😑.*update *Ummm service is average now. Beer not as cold like before, dont get me wrong still cold but not as cold as the many times I have been there.***update ***No Blue moon- BOOOOO only in bottles today I hope it changes.... Still no Blue moon 🚫
Wonderful food and friendly staff!! Best burgers we’ve had in a long time…
Noisy, crowded, and mediocre food. I imagine the skimpy outfits go a long way to overcoming the poor service for some of this establishment’s clientele. I’m not much of a drinker so I can’t judge their drinks, but most people here seem to come for beer anyway, plus appetizers and the crowd — and maybe the outfits? I don’t want to sound dismissive, I just have eaten here several times and nothing is at the level of even most local diners, so I don’t see the appeal. Sorry, I really would like to like it because other people seem to be enjoying themselves.UPDATE: the reply to my review cribbed from a Yogi Berra anecdote, which both shows their cheeky, fun attitude, and ignores what I thought I made explicitly clear several times, that people seem to be having a good time but not necessarily because of the mediocre food. To each their own, always!
Its a Hub City Classic. I had their Green Chili Cheese Burger. Nice heat and lots of taste.
We ordered drinks, no problem. We ordered chips and queso, no problem. Placed our order and didn’t think there was gonna be a problem. My wife had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and it was good as always. I ordered the ribeye(steak of the day at market price which she said was $22.99). She brought me chicken fried steak with gravy and French fries and Texas toast. I had to tell her it was wrong and she said she grabbed the wrong plate. 15 minutes later she came back with the ribeye(thin cut, not a regular ribeye that has a market price of $14.99/lband the same fries and toast that were on the previous plate(you can see the bit of gravy on the fry). The steak was fresh, the fries were fresh from the previous plate. Very disappointed with this visit. They are usually great in all aspects. We will be back, but it won’t be for a while.
It was amazing... Great food... I tried to make a healthy choice with the Power Bowl and it was amazing with the Ribeye lol, I Tired... Either way it was great and Cold A$$ beer, love it...
The food and drinks were good as well as the service. But it was definitely a restaurant for college age patrons. The bass was deafening, and there was no real chance for conversation.
Its always enjoyable when I go in there the patio had a fly issue but it didnt really bother us as far as eating. And the service is always good.
Pretty disappointed. Atmosphere was cool and all I guess. Every open table was dirty af. Would be a decent place to get a cold beer, but its a touch pricey, and their drinks are deceptively small for how large the glass appears. The salsa was red water, zero texture and zero taste. The nachos were what you would make at home in a microwave. The bagged pre shredded cheese had hardened before my third bite. The chicken quesadilla tasted like a spoonful of cumin and chili powder and nothing else, including any taste texture or visual cue of cheese at all. The kids cheeseburger looked like a boxed microwave burger from your local grocery (think fast bites). Also, the cheese sticks were just the regular bagged cookie cutter sticks, not whats pictured in the review. The "spicy" ranch was alright though. Spent $80 just to scrape my food into a box and leave.
Awsome food. Awsome western sports bar atmosphere. Biggest none projector tv ive ever seen.
I absolutely love this location on 34th Street! The owner always visits with me and the wait staff is pretty great! The food is so delicious and the music isnt half as loud as the one on 82nd street!!! Much more enjoyable!!!!
Great food and atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive. Prices were reasonable
The best food thus far i love their mash potatoes and gravy plus their chicken is bomb
Caprock Cafe has a cool country sports bar atmosphere with a lot of menu options. The Pecos Queso was really good and had a kick to it, I loved the chilies in it. The garlic broccoli was also very good and flavorful. The meats had good flavor, although I anticipated a little more chicken in the chicken sandwich. Its definitely a place Id return to. The prices were right, food was good and satisfying, service was excellent, and our waitress even offered us drinks to go.
Garbage!!! Will never eat here again. Ordered their famous burger only to find they are now using frozen pre-formed burger patties. Horrific! Left most of it after 1-2 bites. Will advise friends and family to avoid!!! Manager didnt really care to hear my gripes!
Food was okay. The weight staff spent more time complaining about other staff members then serving tables. In the process of that distracted the bartender rustling in poor service at the bar. Manager on duty couldve took charge but just stood around to listen and watch instead of manage.
EDIT:: I dont know why the pickles would be changed from spears to chips but they arent enjoyable. Not nearly as crispy, only a handful for $8-$9. Beyond disappointedFormer home of Lubbocks Best fried pickles. They still have really delicious burgers, only complaint would be the higher prices but most of the menu is worth it
Food was prepared as ordered. Fast friendly service and always on top of it. Parking is okay as long as its not to busy as usually no matter where you go. But with its location it may be a bit more crowded. Great atmosphere. And the outdoor patio is nice
Had good service friendly most definitely
Okay. I was not happy. I ordered supreme nachos and the works nachos. Can you see what missing. The cheese. They are dry and got one very small container of guacamole and sour cream. They werent cheap either
The waitress said they were known for their burgers.....sadly they were the equivalent to mc donalds...on the other hand, the power bowls were awesome. A little pricey over all.
Just driving through Lubbock on our way back to Colorado and found this Cafe. The food was good and plentiful but the best part of the evening was the service. It was a bit chilly under the fans so the hostess and our server very happily moved us to another table. We ordered the Supreme nachos and the Works Grilled Chicken sandwich, which was excellent! Fun atmosphere and will have to come back some time as there were many things on the menu wed like to try!
Music was a wee bit loud.Im 68 and prefer to hear not feel my music. Lots of ambiance and TV screens everywhere. Food was solidly above average and beer was cold. Friendly service and food came quickly. Good value! Definitely going back next trip.
Stopped in for a late lunch. We ordered the supreme Texas sized nachos and there was more than plenty for 2 to share. (We got a take out container for basically a whole nother serving or two of nachos! 😆The Fresh Margarita was amazing and the best Ive ever had! Service was phenomenal as always.
My husband and I had lunch here, and it was great! I had the Philly cheese steak, and he had a steak salad. The atmosphere was very lively, and the waitress was very attentive. Wed definitely come back!
Good food. Just too noisy. Probably too pricey for lunch... That said hadnt been out in a while and things might have just gone up so I really dont know how to gauge the price anymore. Price paid for lunch would be appropriate for dinner that said the portions were very good and worth a dinner price.
Took my family and we all loved it. It was the best experience with a great waiter. Will definitely be back soon! Thank you guys!!
I love this place, BUT today I ordered a pick up order that I originally called in as 3 separate orders which it was all charged together, the waiters ignored the fact that I was waiting at the front gate door to pick up my food I was on lunch break which only gives me 30 mins which most was wasted waiting on my food, I finally decided to go In to the bar area just to get my food because nobody came to help me up front,,, 2 waitresses just kept walking past me! When I got back to work we realized our order was wrong... then we got charged for the works nachos but nothing was on It but meat and cheese definitely could of order the basic nachos for less!!! Ive never had the service I had today! Definitely disappointed!
Looked up from Google and read reviews...Ubered to spot and was greeted by an amazing bartender...Savanah...she talked to all her customers like nothing...Oh and it was her BDay...Happy Bday and good luckMaybe see ya in future...Wings where awesome also
Great local Lubbock spot! Had the Supreme Nachos and Ribeye ends sandwich. Both amazing!! Prickly Pear margarita lacked any trace of tequila. Service was great as well!
The food is good, but inside it is a little too loud you have to talk over the TV blaring in the background. The waitress was attentive at first, but then gradually her attentiveness and interest was with talking to men. I do understand she makes a living by earning her tips. I have came in a total of 7 times and I will not come back again due to service each and every time it is poor. Im glad to tip more than 20%, we are nice to the staff, we clean up after ourselves, and do not make trouble. I will give 2 stars for service and 3 stars for food.
We ate here twice when we were in town for the Caprock Classic. Once with a large group of parents and siblings of our players and once just me and my husband. Great service, great food. Very welcoming server even when we came in with about 20 of us. Several had food allergies and special requests and it was all handled with ease. Thank you!
The service by Kaden <sp> was great she was attentive and friendly but gave you have time to enjoy your meal. I had the Green Chili Chicken Fried Steak. The green chili sauce was excellent. The steak appeared to be was prebreaded frozen cutlet. IT was still very good because of the green chili, a combination I would not have thought of but worked well. The pinto beans we good, the potatoes and gravy were excellent, just the right amount of seasoning to smashed (not mashedpotatoes with just enough chunkiness and skin left on to add additional flavor. The atmosphere was spot on, I sat near the bar and it was full but not too noisy. Meal was 4 stars and experience was 5 stars overall about 4.5 stars. Recommendations: If they were to change to a hand breaded tenderized cutlet and adjust their seasoning for the beans (they had jalapeno and bacon in them but the seasoning overpowered their flavor), this meal and experience would be 5 stars.
Great atmosphere!! I was passing through and discovered this place through Google maps. The wait staff is very attentive. I asked Missy what is her recommendation for lunch to which she replied the Philly and Chips with Queso are very popular. I had both and was pleasantly surprised at the explosion of flavors from both! I will definitely go back!
Fast and friendly service. The food was great. The waitress was attentive. The atmosphere was nice...music was a little too loud. Definitely, we will be back!
Excellent staff and great food. I look forward to returning to try some of the other dishes. On this trip had the chicken strip. The batter had a very good flavor and chicken tender and moist. The potato salad was just good old fashion comfort food
Good atmosphere. Quick service, nice servers. Food was good.
Went here... its all hype and paid social media advertising. Its cafeteria style food. Assemble your own burgers with sysco packets and poor veggies to top it. CoVID season, so limited workers. Slow service to be expected. More rich people sticking it to everyday workers
Amazing food. Used to go when I lived here from 07-11 and even 10 years later when I come back its still amazing. Green Chili chicken fried steak is life changing
The service was great here and the food was just as good. You definitely get a large portion and everything came out fresh and delicious. The appetizers are huge so make sure you come with an empty stomach. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and it was tasty.
Great juicy 1/2 lb burgers. Friendly service. Cold beer and nice atmosphere!
Cheese sticks were on point and the chicken fried chicken was the best I have had in Lubbock
Ordered the twisted taters and nachos with grilled chicken to go. Twisted taters had burnt cheese and little bacon for price. Nachos were the worst part with no chicken and only a handful of pickle jalapeños (10.99?!?).Left two stars instead of one due to the fact it was delivery on a busy night but still very disappointed.
This place was very eh unfortunately. Our waitress was super sweet and she always came back and made sure we were taken care of. Some of the best service I’ve had.We got some Chips and Queso, Fried Pickle Spears, and I got a hot chicken sandwich of some sort (can’t remember the name). They were very eh. The chips and queso were lackluster, the fried pickle spears tasted as if they came frozen from Walmart, and the sandwich was just a sandwich. It didn’t have much flavor and I had to drown it in ranch.I guess I could say it is what I expected, but I just wish there was more to this meal than what I got. Great for if you like to eat while you watch a football game, but even for bar food, it was very uninspired.I always give places a second chance, so I’d definitely like to come back and maybe try something else. Everyone raves about this place, and I’d like to see why.
Service is not good. Our glasses were empty and when we asked a waitress for our waitress, she said that she would find out - when she returned she said that our waitress was on the phone and would be with us when she was off. Very poor service. However, the drinks are good. Definitely try the strawberry daiquiri.
Well it all started with a day trip... Mom took me out to a must go to spot... The rest is history this place was everything promised and then some! Enjoyed everything that was set in front of me... Lets just say i was able to cut the chicken fried steak with a butter knife!!
Came for the first time to caprock cafe and this place is awesome, I got welcomed right off the bat and that makes a big difference, had a few ice cold beers and literally ice cold. I had asked the bartender what she recommended and she recommended the philly steak sandwich and I give it 👍👍 thumbs up. Thanks, will be back.
The queso bacon burger was the best burger hands down. Staff was friendly, sweet and helpful. The jalapeno poppers were spicy and yummy and cooked to perfection. Happy hour was a good deal. The pork skins were a huge bonus for me 👍😎
Awesome little gem! Food is amazing, definitely get the queso!! French fries were super good. Lots of TVs if you’re watching the game. Wait staff was friendly and on the ball. Will come again when back in town!
