Family-owned Italian bistro serving a traditional menu, beer & wine in a warm, brick-accented space.
100% the BEST meal Ive ever had. Perfectly cooked midrare steak, lasagna was divine and the linguini was amazing. Hands down the best place to eat in STG by a mile! Staff always friendly and welcoming. Love Cappelettis!
Incredible food, unique dishes, great service, reasonable prices. Try it, you wont regret it.
Great atmosphere, friendly service, and INCREDIBLE handmade-daily Gnocchi 😍. Seriously, try everything—it’s all delicious. I got the gnocchi bolognese and it was so decadent and comforting. I’ll be back for sure!
Is this really a business? Our second time visiting this restaurant. Last time was so so, but this time was the last. We were seated around 7:00 pm and servers walked back and forth, with an occasional glance in our direction. Finally, around 7:15 pm, one of the servers who had glanced our way came to take our order. She was not friendly to begin with and being in the fine dining restaurant business for over 15 years, I told her she should smile more. She grinned and said is there anything else you want me to do different? My partner said being a little quicker would be helpful, to which she replied “this was as quick as I could get to you, I even skipped taking another party’s order even though they were here before you and if we had any other complaints , we could talk to the owner”. She had just taken an order at a nearby table with four people and certainly, they were there before us and we understood that, but the only other party near us had just been seated next to us, long after we had been seated. The owner or manager happened to be at the table behind us and my partner asked, “are you the owner? “ to which she replied “yes”. He told her that our server has an attitude. She said she was aware of the situation and had reassigned our table to another server and that he would take care of us and if he didn’t, to let her know and she dashed off without an apology of any kind. I became upset and decided to leave. I stopped by the kitchen area and told the owner to cancel our order that we were leaving, to which she replied “okay good!”. Okay, good? Are you kidding me? Is that how you treat your customers? I walked out and she approached my partner and said “if you disrespect one of my servers I am not apologizing for that” and stormed back to the kitchen area. What???? If there was any disrespect, it came from the server and the owner. One of the keys to management is getting both sides of the story. We have no idea what the server told her and she didn’t care about the truth or her customer. How do you treat customers like that and expect to stay in business?
Started with a salad... lettuce, small tomato wedge and a tiny bit of onion. Chicken marsala was tough and had no sauce on it. Angle hair had a watery sauce and I counted two small slices of mushroom. They wanted me to wait twenty minutes longer for more sauce. Walked out.
The food and the service were both incredible. If you like fresh made from scratch Italian this is your place!
Came in and was seated. Had a host? I think? Slam down waters then walk alway. My husband and I unrolled our silverware to place the napkins on our laps. And both of our knives were extremely dirty. Not like.. a couple spots dirty, but like globs of food dirty.Wasn’t greeted for a solid while:So we left.
The best restaurant meal weve had in a long time. I had the Chilean sea bass and my husband had the flat iron steak. Both were superb.
Came in from out of town for Tuacahn. We were able to get a reservation the same day for a couple hours later. I got the sea bass special with gnocchi, my wife got the rib eye. I have had fish all over the world including Mama’s Fish house in Maui. This was one of the best. My wife’s was also amazing. The service was great. Other reviews noted that the service was a bit slow. That was not our experience. They knew we were in a bit of a rush and got the food out reasonably quick. We would definitely come back!
We had lovely dinner! Food was very good and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. Make a reservation or you may have to wait. We will definitely be going back.
The restaurant was short staffed but I can say our waitress was great and service was good. The calamari were like thick steak fries, however the table next to us had small round ones. I ordered the mushroom ravioli but they had to do cheese ravioli from being out of mushrooms. It was very bland, no sauce and I had to load it with salt to taste anything. My partner ordered the lasagna and overall it was tasty- but very greasy and oily. It was sitting in a puddle of oil. Would not eat at this place again- however it could be due to the staff shortage. They were out of a lot of items on the menu.
👍👍 it will make your eyes roll in the back of the head good. I got the special blackend bass pasta. Wife had the chicken marsala. For appetizer we had the French onion soup, the three years I spent in Europe had a few french onion soup and this one dominated them all, and hazelnut encrusted prawn, awesome!
As much as I would like to give this restaurant five stars, the reality of the place prevents me from doing so. Is the owner friendly? Yes. Is the wait staff professional? Yes. Is the food good? Weve been here twice. Both times for their homemade gnocchi. Its definitely a crowd pleaser. But what isnt is the restaurants absolutely impossible ambiance. Which is to say there isnt any. The lighting is not soft or diffused or designed in a way to bring comfort to each table, but instead, there are can lights high up in the ceiling with an odd combination of LED and incandescent with a mercury vapor lamp or two thrown in for good measure. Not only is it visually unappealing, the noise level is obnoxious. Thats the best way to put it. We sat by a window at the front of the restaurant and could hear kids crying in the rear of the restaurant some 40 feet away. My wife and I couldnt carry on a conversation. It was like some culinary Tower of Babel with voices coming at us from all directions. Would I recommend it? If noise and lighting are not an issue, go for it. Or you can try to get a seat in the kitchen area where the noise level is somewhat tolerable. Other than that youre better off buying an Italian entree at the supermarket and having a quiet candlelight dinner at home.
Great Italian wines and home-made pasta. The decor is fun and the staff very pleasant. It can be a bit if a wait so make reservations.
First time going to Cappelettis after living here in St. George for about 2 years. My wife and I had a date night and I made reservations for dinner. I highly recommend getting a reservation or you may not get a table. We started with the Empanadas as an appetizer and they were very tasty. My wife ordered the Chicken Gorgonzola and I decided on the Gnocchi Bolognese. I ordered based on our waitresses recommendation and I was very pleased. Always wanted to try it but never pulled the trigger and I am glad I did as the Bolognese sauce was excellent.Overall a good dining experience for both food and service. My only complaint was the fact that it was difficult to carry on a conversation as it was very loud where we were seated.
We have been disappointed the last two times we dined here. The quality is not what it was 3-4 years ago. Not sure why, but we will not be returning. The chicken marsala was dry and the sauce was tasteless. We have had the sea bass previously which was small portioned, not seasoned well: basically bland. It was our favorite restaurant in St. George. Emphasis on WAS!
everyone was very nice and professional! I like the very generous portions of spaghetti we were served and it tasted incredible, the spaghetti sauce was great. We had enough to take back to our place and had a filling breakfast the next day before our long car trip ahead.
We were looking forward to some Italian food on our recent trip and the reviews were good of Cappelettis. We were somewhat disappointed with our meals. Let me say this, the staff was delightful and always made sure we were taken care of. The location was on a quiet street with parking easily available. The restaurant had lots of atmosphere and you could easily talk. No wait, as we had a reservation. The bread was not very good. Actually, the bread tasted stale. We had the calamari appetizer and the portion was generous but they came served looking like a french fry not like a ring. I had the mushroom ravioli with bolognese sauce and the dish was just okay. I ate a little of it and fed it to my husband the next night. He had the lasagna and he said it was served nice and hot but the taste was average.
Everything cooked to perfection. The sear on the steak and fish was perfect. Caesar salad was delicious, the best Ive had in a long time.
Amazing, great food, excellent service. They were a little busy so things were a little slow getting out to us. However the food was handmade and does say it could take up to 45 minutes. Overall great restaurant I would good back again
Cappellettis was a nice Italian restaurant away from the business of Zion. We found out that parties of 5 or more need to make a reservation, so we had to wait a bit. However the wait was worth it! Chicken Marsala, Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken (with a side of marinara), Spaghetti with Meatball. We were also thankful they had a Gluten Free menu, which was super exciting since it is, well…Italian! Service was great and food enjoyable, especially after hiking.
We moved to southern utah recently and we hadn’t been able to find a good steak restaurant. I mentioned to my chiropractor and he asked if we’d tried Cappelletti’s. So we gave it a shot. It definitely didn’t disappoint!! Everything we ordered was amazing! I got the iron steak and my husband got the ribeye. We loved them both!! And the tiramisu was divine. Ask for JAMEE… she is knowledgeable and friendly and will make your experience even more special. We can’t wait to go back!
Excellent seafood and noodles, generous portions. Stellar service from Megan. The quality is what other places would charge more for.
This place left SO much to be desired. After waiting 10 minutes for our drinks, we ordered the calamari as an appetizer. It came out relatively fast however, the pieces were so big, and not in a good way. Half of the piece was eatable, the other half was stringy and tough. We received bread for the table 20 minutes. 45 minutes of waiting for our food we almost left, then the food came out but we were missing an entree. We ordered the chicken parm (chicken was similar to the calamari in toughness. Even the steak knife provided wouldn’t cut itthe lemon salmon salad was probably the best thing we ordered, and even then it needed more dressing (our waiter didn’t show up again until the salad was gone so we couldn’t ask for more). We had to flag another server down just to ask for our other entree to be canceled and ask for the check. Extremely disappointing experience.
As soon as we walked in side the restaurant smelled delicious. We were greeted by friendly employees and were sat immediately. We tried appetizers and multiple entrees. All of the food was bright out quickly, seasoned well and was exactly how we ordered it. Our server was new but so awesome.
It was a great date night with the husband. We ordered the Spinach artichoke dip to start and it was amazing! I ordered the Alfredo and it did not disappoint, one of the best Alfredo’s I had. But, my husband wasn’t as satisfied, he ordered the ribeye- we were charged for the ribeye but, when the server brought his food she place the steak at our table and said the flat iron steak (which was much cheaperthen walked off fast. When she came back around to check on us, we asked her which steak it was (she then looked at what she wrote down when we ordered and she said uh, the ribeyethen the table next to ours received their meal and he ordered and received the flat iron steak and you couldn’t tell the difference.
My husband had the pork chop and I had the chicken Gorgonzola. This was literally one of the best Italian places I’ve ever eaten at! I felt like I was eating at an Italian restaurant in the east coast. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu, it’s our new favorite!
The restaurant atmosphere of Cappelettis restaurant was top notch. It was overall a good experience with lots of free parking in the parking garage across the street. I got the Gnocchi and I felt the food and bread was just okay. Taste is subjective so I’ll leave it at that.
Best Italian cuisine in St.George. Food was beyond delicious. I had the special which was sea bass over homemade spaghetti 🍝 with olives 🫒 the bread pudding for dessert topped off a perfect meal.
Cappelettis is a wonderful, beautiful restaurant! It has a homey feeling and the food is divine! Everything tastes like heaven, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. My husband and I go to St. George just for this restaurant! This food just cant be beat! It brings such joy! The owner is almost always in the kitchen. Try the specials cause its never the same twice.
I’ve always heard of this place and some work associates took us there. The ambiance is quite nice. Service is excellent. And the food is amazing! I had the pork Bolognese Gnocchi and I can’t get enough! I order the same thing now. Their French Onion Soup is also delicious! Reservations are a good idea and there are no “take outs” on Friday or Saturday.
This place is Fantastic! The onion soup is the best I’ve ever had and in a very large bowl! The rib eye steak and garlic potato’s were world class! The cannoli was also fantastic! The Tiramisu is the best! World class!
Great atmosphere, great food, excellent staff. I had clam chowder and seafood linguine and was very happy with my meal. Recommend!
Definitely I recommend this restaurant. It was delicious. We went for lunch I ordered the spaghetti and added mushrooms on top. It was so good. The other two people I was with ordered fettuccine and one had chicken on it. They both loved it. In fact it’s their favorite restaurant and I was taking them there. It was my first time but definitely not my last time. Thank you so much
Incredible food with the most beautiful service! Lovely, friendly and attentive staff and some of the best food we’ve had in a long time! The BEST Mushroom gnocchi appetizer, perfectly cooked flat iron steak with Gorgonzola sauce was to die for and such a great & flavorful lasagna!
Great Italian restaurant. I enjoyed the Margherita pizza while dining outside. I topped that off with a delicious tira misu. The service was excellent and prices were reasonable. There was a large, nicely decorated indoor dining area as well.
Food was delicious but the server was S-L-O-W!!!! In my opinion, she had more tables than she could handle, from the looks of it she had 6... At a place like this she should have 4 tops!! It was busy, but we ordered med rare steak and it took us over an hour to get our food. Then another 10 min just to get our check.... :( We went about a week ago and our server was Tevin. He was amazing! Enough about that... the French Onion soup was HOT and delicious, highly recommend.
We wanted to like this restaurant, but the food was very disappointing. The staff was helpful and friendly enough but our food just wasn’t that good. I got the chicken marsala and my husband the alfredo pasta. The chicken was over cooked and bland, and the sauce was so thin without much flavor-though the vegetables were good. The pasta was very soupy and seemed to be missing something. We did enjoy the empanadas as an appetizer. We’ve dined at this restaurant a few times over the years and have very much enjoyed it, I don’t know if it was just an off night or this is typical.
Ryan was a superb waiter and super hot with those tattoos. Definitely enjoyed the eye candy. Food was amazing as usual! I had the cannelloni with bolognese sauce and it was delicious! The type of bread served has been improved. The tiramisu was great. I enjoyed the calamari. I would say its really good, but not the best Ive ever had. I love the atmosphere. Definitely my favorite Italian style restaurant to go to. We also had the flat iron steak and the Gorgonzola chicken and they were both perfect! Tried the mushroom ravioli. I suggest asking for alfredo or Gorgonzola sauce with it.
This seems to be a popular restaurant but Im not sure why with high prices and food that was fairly bland, I will not return. The wait for food was very long which they tell you about in the menu but Im not sure why. My plate was supposed to be a seafood dish and it was missing two of its ingredients and Im not sure what one of the ingredients was supposed to be, I think I had some fake squid pressed fish or something like that. I guess I shouldnt expect to have good fish food in southern Utah. My salad came with barely a teaspoon of dressing on it and when I asked for extra the waitress said there would be an extra charge. What? I have never encountered that! The waitress was attentive and no complaints on the service. It also is a nice atmosphere.
This was our first time here and I will say it was a hidden jem.we will definitely be back. The plate I had was a bolognese lasagne it came out hot and it was very good. The wifee had a fettuccine alfredo and she said it was very good, also we had two beers a glass of wine a bomb appetizer three salads and a spinach strawberry salad. The only thing that was a downer was it was very loud in side of the restaurant I think its due to the hardwood flooring and hard walls. When we go back we will sit out on there street side seating.
This is one of the better restaurants in St. George and one of the only places to get Italian food. It has a friendly vibe with lots of energy. It can range from casual to formal. Great outside seating. The server was friendly but not great. Missed offering bread and taking away plates in a timely manner. Large portions and good value. Lots of flavor. Will go again.
Visited for the first time tonight and will definitely be back! The food was great, nice homemade flavors. We didnt wait long for our order and brought home leftovers to enjoy tomorrow.
Bottom line: some of the best lunch in townCappelettis is such a great restaurant, it has an old town vibe, homemade pasta sauce, and fresh salads. Lunch is a great time to swing by with great prices. Pictured here: Lemon Salmon salad, Fish and Chips, artichoke dip, fettuccine alfredo and the steak saladStaff: friendly and prompt Price: $$ Yummy? Go find out 😉 .
Having never been here, all weve ever heard is good hype! Overall the flavors and dishes we had were tasty, we were just disappointed with the proteins in both our dishes. The chicken in the Gorgonzola pasta was overcooked and dry. It was almost as though it had been prepared in a large batch, and then reheated for the dish. The prosciutto wrapped shrimp for the nights special was very overcooked and rubbery. The prosciutto was tough and leathery rather than supple. It was a shame because the sauces on both dishes were outstanding. The homemade bread was delicious and we liked the dill butter to accompany it. The service was fine, we found that our waitress was very short and though she asked questions to check on us, she was uninterested and actually hearing our responses. The individuals responsible for cleaning up felt like they were always rushing to get plates off the table and our waitress felt like she was rushing between service. overall the atmosphere wasnt a slow relaxed pace; It felt like we were trying to be rushed out. Perhaps well try it again? Maybe things have been strained due to the pandemic. Hard to say.
Awesome food and good atmosphere. Being in one of the older buildings in town. Almost every dish can be shared by two people. We split the classic chicken Alfredo with two dinner salads and the calamari appetizer. The blue cheese and cranberry vinaigrette dressing were full of flavor. The wine is a little bit pricey if you ask me.
Cappellettis is amazing! Best ribeye in town by far!!! The crust on this ribeye will have you yearning for the next visit. The food is fantastic and nearly everything is homemade. Highly recommend treating yourself to this hometown favorite. Family friendly or a great getaway with your favorite person. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Shout out to the chefs for the incredible play on flavors!
I absolutely love this restaurant! It is a mom and pop shop with truly authentic Italian cuisine. I had the Steak Chim-chiry with butternut squash puree and roasted asparagus! It was absolutely delicious, fantastic, killer, flavorful and amazing. The wait staff know their menu and what goes awesome with what!!
Great service, delicious bread and fantastic French onion soup. The Chicken Gorgonzola was beautifully plated but is a little on the rich & heavy side. The atmosphere is quite nice too.
We came here specifically just for desserts. Hands down the best chocolate cake I’ve had in my life no joke! I would take a bite and just let the cake slowly dissolve in my mouth, then break it up with a bite of strawberry, then repeat again and again until I finished the whole dang thing! I even had a bite or two of my wife’s creme brûlée and it was amazing! We sat outside which was a nice classy feeling with all the plants. Indoors was nice as well, but this restaurant is a five star gem. Get their dessert you will be in love!
