Longtime hub with window seating serving breakfast items & sandwiches alongside coffee drinks & tea.
Nice place to have a quick American breakfast. The portions are just right and the price is not bad. Spent $24 for a ham&cheese omelet, pancakes, capuchino and a black coffee.
Great breakfast spot. Pancakes are so good!
This is a wonderful little spot, with great food and friendly staff. The atmosphere is nice on a quiet morning, though be prepared for disposable dishware/cutlery, thats charming too.It wasnt very busy around 7:30am, nice place to stop for a wonderful breakfast. The pancakes had a lovely texture, and the potatoes were crispy even if they might not look it!
A nice cute of latte
Really good coffee and awesome pumpkin muffin. This place has such a quaint old vibe, lots of character and great people. The food looked amazing and I think that we are going to have to go back for breakfast soon
Love the breakfast burritos and the americano these guys make! Great old school breakfast vibe.
Best breakfast place in Boston!
Great spot for a traditional diner breakfast. This was our last stop in Boston on our way to the airport.
I ordered an omelet and was expecting it to be thick and fluffy and it was flat. The omelet was very good.
Great little place right across the street from the State House. No frills (paper plates, etcbut good food at fair prices. We had breakfast which was very good. Someone seated near us had a sandwich that looked fabulous.
The best and the simplest bagel I’ve had in my life. Coffee is also amazing!
Great food, atmosphere and people. Thx
Fast service, space in the back to work, hot coffee, and most importantly - open early
Came looking for pancakes and was not disappointed, 3 huge chocolate chip pancakes for a really good price and good coffee too
Clean establishment and polite employees. Great location across from Massachusetts State House. Delicious hot caramel latte; perfect for my walk as I went sightseeing.
We had a great impromptu breakfast! The blueberry pancakes were extra good!!
My wife and I were in town walking around looking for a place to have breakfast. We stumbled across this place and boy am I glad we did! We love Boston and were big Red Sox fans in town for the Yankees series but weve only been to the more "touristy" places to eat. This place is straight up local! And man was the vibe cool! Simple breakfast food but it was really good and the hospitality was great and it was fun people watching and drinking in the local vibe.
Small place with single seating only. The omelet I ordered came with like 5 or 6 home fries, so I didnt like that. But the blueberry pancakes were awesome.I went back 3 or 4 days in a row for the pancakes. Plenty of blueberries, light and fluffy batter - just right. I got a ham and swiss(?panini that was good, too. They seem like they have their regulars and they have a good relationship with them, but I personally didnt get that "welcome" vibe that I like when I go out. As I left I thanked them but didnt hear any response. Thats not the kind of customer service I like, but hey, its Boston, and it seems thats typical of my experience out here. Im getting used to it a little more, but I still look for a little more friendliness. That goes a long way with me. The man who takes the orders seems to know the job pretty well, which is always helpful. Im not putting these guys down, its just my experience and my preference. The pancakes are definitely worth a visit if youre looking for a quick pop in before work or something. Theyll take care of ya and youll be happy with the order. I say check em out.
Such a great quaint shop in a great location! Stopped by to order a sandwich to go, but decided to stay. So great to dine where the locals do!
Perfect place for breakfast. Super authentic including the old boys at the grill arguing with each other in a mix of Italian and English - but super polite and friendly to the customers - local or visitors. Pancakes are amazing and everything is reasonably priced. And for tourists, a great view of the State House.
For three days straight they got my order wrong, and I go every single morning and get the same exact thing. They just seemed to not have a single care in the world about it when I would say something about it. Good food, terrible understandings and care. They lost a regular respectfully.
This place is a hidden gem!! I love this place so much and stop by here every week. This coffee house is ideal for breakfast, they have various menus and nice coffee. Plus all staffs are very welcoming!
First of all, after the reading the low ratings, I am laughing so loudly in the airport. This place has amazing French toast and the egg sandwich was delicious as well. If youre looking for vegan or Starbucks style coffee shop, Google those places. The gentlemen behind the counter were welcoming and friendly. The prices are within normal range. If you dont like the fact they use paper plates and plastic utensils then, again, Google somewhere else. If I ever come back to Boston, this will be my stop for breakfast. Great job, gentlemen!
We were in the city for a few days and we went to this place every morning since they offered curbside pick up. Excellent service and food.
A place with amazing service and a beautiful view. Everyone is friendly and the food is amazing
This is the cutest place Ive ever eaten at! Great food for excellent prices. Good views to sit by a window and people watch as I enjoy a lazy breakfast. Friendly atmosphere makes me want to come back. I had the Capitol breakfast plate and highly recommend it.
It good places to eat good people I have been going there for long time fresh eggs cooked front of you cant say it old school wicked good not to many places left like that
Delicious. Worth the half mile walk for breakfast. Caprese omelet great! Bacon, eggs over medium with toast ... great! Hit the spot!
You might feel like youve travelled back in time when you step through the doors here. The prices and the feel is fixed in the 1980s, and both cant be beat. Great place to come for an affordable lunch.Try the fries -- the are piping hot and excellent, straight out of your childhood.
Excellent service and really good coffee. The breakfast we has was spot on and the pancakes were done to perfection. Pretty reasonable price for city centre too
Looking for a breakfast spot that wouldnt kill the wallet. My husband found this place and I am so glad he did! The food is excellent and priced VERY reasonable. I had the Capital Breakfast special with ham, eggs, pancakes, and hasbrowns. Those pancakes were so fluffy! Its a small spot but worth visiting for a quick breakfast/lunch.
Loved it! Wonderful authentic experience of American State House goings on - police, suited State House workers, locals, all at the counter chatting. Dedicated staff - bacon, eggs (easyover), French Toast and maple syrup to die for!
This place is amazing! Good old fashioned hole in the wall restaurant. Their croissant breakfast sandwiches and coffee are amazing! My family got the french toast and blueberry muffins, and they are great as well! Highly recommend if your in Boston!
Amazing food at an amazing price. Their coffee is good as well. Friendly people and quick service. My brother in law wants to visit Boston again just to get another one of their croissant breakfast sandwiches.
I love restaurants that provide good service and good food. Unfortunately, if you are commuting in to meet a colleague for a meeting, this isnt the place for that. I was meeting a colleague and made the mistake of entering with an empty drink cup in my hand from earlier in my hour commute. This caused the owner to yell very loudly at me- twice - for bringing in an outside cup (it was empty- just in my hand), refusing to take the cup when offered to him, my actual drink order to be missed, and being sent across the street to use the bathroom and then yelled at again when I returned. Maybe the owner just needed to unleash his bad day on someone, but why bother risking it if you are meeting a professional colleague?
I love this hidden breakfast shop! Its been here for a long time and has very good breakfast food and coffee. Its so close to anywhere downtown.
Good breakfast at a great price. Service was quick, and it tastes like fresh homemade food. Paper plates and plastic forks, nothing fancy. Perfect place to grab a quick bite and get on with your day.
Outside of my son..,, my favorite guys in Boston! My son went there for breakfast several days a week when he attended Suffolk University ... he graduated in 2013 and when we go back for breakfast they still remember us and treat us so warmly… Love this place!
The food was okay. Not bad, not great. The waitress was very nice and perhaps the only highlight. But if you care about the environment, dont eat here. Its all waste. Paper plates, plastic utensils, paper mats, plastic foam cups, etc. The amount of waste generated for my family for one meal was ridiculous. Multiply that by hundreds of customers a week and its pretty disgusting in this day and age with all the awareness about reducing waste and why it matters. They even have corporate propaganda on the plastic foam coffee cups about how each cup generates less landfill "by weight" than paper cups and sleeves. Missing of course is that paper decomposes relatively easily and plastic foam doesnt- about 500 years to decompose, or that its made from fossil fuels and has harmful styrene in it, a toxic chemical that can leach into your coffee in small amounts. But the frosting on the cake was when we finished our meal, drank our drinks, and my 3 year old daughter and I needed to use the restroom. Thats when they inform you - NO RESTROOM (they dont have the space, evidently). Nice!! And nice setup since its not mentioned anywhere visible on the front door as you come in. No public restrooms nearby either, especially on the weekend. Unless you want to use the one in the park. Overall, this place was a huge disappointment and their practices unacceptable as far as Im concerned.
Wonderful service and even better food! You also get a pretty view of the city around you, italian omlette is my first try here and currently my favorite. And the potatoes are killer!
was kind of drab and depressing on a Monday morning. The italian omelet was Good, so maybe OK if you just want to eat and get on with your day. Not a place to linger with friends, etc.
Cute little diner with beautiful views of the State House. Though they originally charged us too much and gave us bacon, egg & cheese breakfast sandwiches when we ordered egg & cheese, when they realised their mistake they gave us the difference back. The bagel sandwich was really good, and is served all day. Other breakfast items are only served in the morning. They have lunch items available in the afternoon.I was also impressed with the coffee; being a local diner, I feel coffee can be hit or miss. I got a double cappuccino and enjoyed the quick service and cocoa powdered espresso drink.
This place provides awesome breakfast 🍳 and their pancakes 🥞 are really super. The seating area is small and it’s very crowded. The staff was charm and provided excellent service and the food came really fast.
Food came out really fast! I was super impressed by that. I was a little turned off by the fact that their pastries look like they were from Sams Club. But overall, had an okay experience.
Food was great, but service was not. Everyone was friendly, but the waitress had a hard time understanding our order and the three of us that ordered the sausage, egg & cheese croissant didnt get sausage, but were still charged for it. Had good potential, but didnt leave us with a good impression.
quick in and out, breakfast food is exactly as you would get from a long standing diner - so good! staff is awesome you can always here them having fun with each other and they may look busy... but youll be in and out as if no one was there these guys are awesome!
Great little breakfast place. Nice people, good food. Its small and it was crowded when we were there on a weekday morning to get out breakfast to go, we had good, freshly prepared food in about ten minutes. Stop in if youre in the area.
Quality is good, however it is on the pricey side especially for the portion sizes. This is coming from eating here main for breakfast. There are plenty of places close by that have a better price to portion ratio. If you are looking for a short wait and good quality this isnt a bad place.
Steak and cheese omelette is awesome. Vegetable panini is tasty. The meatballs are Italian home made. Staff is great. Full table service on Saturdays only.
Delicious food! I tried a special panini--chicken pesto--and was well rewarded. Solid prices, especially for coffee/espresso made this well! You can sit at the breakfast bars or at tables--or just grab it to-go. Definitely the little shop on the corner you frequent with coworkers or when you just need something delicious for lunch!
