Restaurant drawing a loyal crowd with its American menu & genteel, Mediterranean-style ambiance.
Beautiful atmosphere. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a nice area off the bar that has sofas near a fireplace for relaxing before or after meals. The food was incredible. I had the trout with creamed spinach and augratin potatoes. It was a great evening with friends. I cant believe I live in the area and didnt know about this gem.Enjoy!
So here is my challenge…we had a full dinner which was lovely. However, once we moved to the piano bar it all went down hill. We struggled to get served. After the piano guy left we were asked for our next round..,(dimples). After we ordered, our next round was cancelled for closing. Then manager said you can only have drinks for cash because we are closing. So we said yes. Then we were told to get out after ordering. While I am pro sever, I feel we were told to get out because they were closing. So I am not sure I would sit on the bar side again. It’s millennial run.
Good food, liked fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and a sauce. Had blueberry pancakes were very tasty. I would go again. Also had lamb on a different occasion, they were excellent.
I brought some friends from out of town I LOVE CAPERS!!...Been coming for many years.. but the last few times I have come the food has been pretty bland and coming to the table cold... The sweet potatoes have no flavor and and one of the pastas came dry And room temperature and the creamed spinach tasted like it was out of a box... Dessert is always on point and as stated Above... I LOVE the service and the atmosphere!!!! But the food has taken a hit.
Went for a birthday dinner. Group of 26. Aaliyah took care of all of us like a BOSS. Total professional and very attentive. The food was delicious and the cocktails were even better. No one was disappointed. Lamb chops, Hawaiian rib eye, excellent, just to name a few of the items we had. I will go back.
Perfect! From the host standing outside opening the door to the manager Angel who checked on us everything was wonderful. Great food and service. This was my first time here and we will definitely be back.
Was there for my cousins birthday. Food was delicious
My glazed salmon with green beans and mashed sweet potatoes was delicious. Capers is a bit pricey considering the decor and atmosphere. The chairs we sat in didn’t match. I don’t think the ambience fits the prices. Just my personal opinion. But the food is great and our server was sweet.
I always have a great experience when I visit Capers. Their service was extraordinary, very accommodating to my seat change request (I wanted a booth). The servers recommendations were spot on and I loved everything about the experience (from the hostess to the seat selection to the server and the food was awesome!)...
The food was AMAZING! Our server, Maya, phenomenal! Top TEIR service
Great atmosphere. Great food. Awesome drinks made by our very own Waiter/Bartender, Derek. Excellent customer service from the entrance to the exit. A+
Cute, quaint black-owned establishment in the middle of kennesaw. It was great. The shrimp and crab pasta was DIVINE. The half portion was still a great size. The strawberry shortcake was sooo delicious and the lamb looked good. My friend said it was tasty. The fries green tomatoes were so addictive and fried perfectly. My cranberry vodka was amazing. 5 stars. Cant wait to return
Ive been here twice. Both times the food was excellent and served hot and fresh. The staff is very friendly. The times I went, the wait was not long. Ive tried Fried Green Tomatoes, Seafood Pasta, Fried Catfish, Lamb Lollipops, and Wasabi Mashed Potatoes and they were all delicious. There is plenty of free parking which is always a plus!
We visited this black owned establishment on Saturday, August 7, 2022. Upon arrival, the establishment was clean, lively, and a bit spacious. We were warmly greeted by the hostess who informed us it would be about a 45 minute wait. I would advise anyone to make a reservation in advance by calling. There’s no way to make a reservation online as far as I know. To avoid the 45 minute wait, we decided to take a small table towards the side and by the window for two. We were seated immediately due to us taking this table. Our waitress was Sydney who was extremely warm, sweet, and professional. She was also very attentive throughout our dining experience. Upon being seated, we were given paper menus which had the menu of the day, the regular menu, the drink menu, and the dessert menu. We ordered the following items: spinach artichoke dip, a cup of shrimp and corn bisque soup, half portion of herb crusted grouper, creamed spinach, wasabi mashed potatoes, half portion of parmesan crusted chicken, sweet mashed potatoes, blue envy cocktail, and toasted strawberry poundcake. I initially did change my drink from the peach Bellini to the blue envy, which Sydney arranged for me with no issue. The drinks came out a bit after we sat down and the blue envy was refreshing, sweet, and had an authentic tropical flavor. The server who brought over the drink also left the drink mixer on the table. I was able to have a bit more to my liking. The spinach dip came out right before the drink did and it was pretty tasty. I felt it could’ve been a bit warmer temperature wise, but it was a nice mix of spinach and artichoke. It was blended well and complementary with the toasted pieces of bread. Also it was seasoned well and hearty. About 20 minutes after our drinks, we received our main entrées. The grouper was seasoned very well and the capers on top were a great complement. This was along with the very seasoned and delicious creamed spinach. These two items were very savory, hot temperature wise, and had a nice authentic flavor. I could definitely taste the wasabi in the mashed potatoes, but it was not spicy. This was the perfect entrée combination and I see why it is so popular at this restaurant. That was some of the best creamed spinach I’ve had and it was a great consistency. My boyfriend enjoyed his parmesan crusted chicken. He also stated this was his first time ever trying the sweet mashed potatoes, which was a great treat for him. He also enjoyed the creamed spinach, which he said paired perfectly with his chicken. He stated the entrée was seasoned very well and didn’t need any additions. I did use the restroom while I was here which was clean and appropriate. This restaurant was quite busy since it was a Saturday evening. I can tell many people enjoy coming here patronizing this black owned business. I did like some of the decor in the restaurant which appeared to have a slightly swanky vibe. I can also tell this restaurant has been here for quite a while. It looks like some of the furnishings need to be upgraded and replaced. About 20 minutes after our entrées, we received our poundcake and to go order of the shrimp corn bisque soup. The poundcake was simply delicious! The French toast was perfection. It included vanilla ice cream in between and handmade whipped cream on top. The presentation was so cute. It appeared to be a Georgia peach on top of the entire dessert. This was one of the better desserts that I’ve had. Their take on poundcake was extremely unique by using French toast. I ate the shrimp corn bisque soup the next day and it was simply delicious. It had whole pieces of shrimp, corn, and a creaminess to the soup which was extremely flavorful. This is some of the better shrimp corn bisque soup that I’ve had. I could’ve easily purchased a bowl instead of a cup of this. I would highly recommend this black owned establishment to everyone in Atlanta. They also have a sister restaurant called Fish Thyme in Acworth, which I also recommend. I have also written a detailed review about Fish Thyme on Google as well.
The experience at this restaurant got even better the second time around. Friendly and helpful staff is a great start to the excellent food you will be savoring over. Theres a lounge area, full bar, casual seating and outdoor seat. The live music is awesome and dont forget to tip the pianist, his performances are worth every penny!
Every time weve my husband and I have visited this establishment, its been a pleasure. The ambiance, service and food are very pleasing and relaxing. And if thats not enough the food and drinks are delicious. Never disappointed.
Went out for my mother in laws 75th birthday. The food was great. I had the pork chop and wife had the surf and turf.
Soul filling food in a great little setting! I’m so glad to try this spot, will be going back again. We tried an appetizer and two mains- all three of them were utterly delicious.
The food was amazing. I was in town and some friends took us there. I had the Lamb chops. They were the best I ever had and I am comparing them to Capitol Grill who used to have the best. The Wasabi mash potatoes were awesome, the side salad was excellent. I tried my wifes steak and it was perfect. I highly recommend it if you are in Atlanta. I will definitely go there next time I am in town.
Capers food is ALWAYS great, but the service has declined. The staff is young and we’re just standing around. When I went last week, there weren’t many people there, and it took about 10 minutes for someone to come to the table, and a couple of servers walked by without saying anything. That was disappointing.
This is probably the best restaurant / bar in Kennesaw. It’s got such a classy vibe. From the moment you arrive, the Hostesses are always so welcoming and also so beautifully dressed. Saturday night theres live piano, loud enough to hear but not interrupting your conversation.Cocktails are varied and imaginitive. The Peach Bellini got my vote this time. Theres a decent selection of British Gins and Single Malts too.Bar staff are always kept very busy but still keep their heads up, saying hi and keeping you updated on your order. This is a big plus for me. Major kudos there.I also love the Bruschetta appetizer. Hot and gooey awesomeness!Opted for the spicy pasta with blackened salmon entree this time which is perfect but theres so many other great dishes. The portions are big and I couldnt finish the half size. (Well I haven’t finished it …yet!)Can’t recommend Capers enough. It might seem pricey at first blush but I can assure you that everything is definitely worth it.
Ive never had a bad anything when I come here. The staff are great, the food is wonderful and the drinks are even better! I especially loved the blood orange margarita. Soooo yummy. The calamari is so perfectly seasoned and the specials are so inviting its hard to pick just one. Be sure to check the specials.
Excellent quality food, service and atmosphere as always. One of the most consistent restaurants youll find.
Finally came back here after so many years. Brought my lady with me this time. We sat at the bar on a nice Saturday evening. We had the crab fingers 🤌 absolutely amazing ! Highly recommend. Also had the burger and Hawaiian ribeye. Now all I can say if you had the Hawaiian ribeye at Houstons, then this one will blow you away!! So good and cooked to perfection. To top it off a nice glass of wine and the Paul playing and singing some amazing piano music. The man is a hit and makes your dining experience absolutely perfect.Highly recommend. Thanks Khendal!
We Love When We Come To Eat Here,The Hosts Are Absolutely Amazing, But Most Of All The Food Is Aways Delicious And The Presention Makes You Feel Like Youre On Vacation. Dont Forget To Try The Strewberry Short Cake.
First time dining at Capers & it was a delicious experience. Our server, Kaysha, was great! She was very helpful in explaining the menu & very attentive. I ordered the lamb chops & they were tender & delicious. I ordered them to be cooked medium rare & they came out medium. I ordered the full order, which was supposedly 8 lollipops but I only received 7, unfortunately I didnt notice until after we left the restaurant (check your order when ordering the full order). The au gratin potatoes were very good but the green beans were lack luster. We all ordered the green beans, which were suppose to be crisp & crunchy, but they were soft & soggy. We ordered the bread pudding & creme brulee for dessert, both delicious. I would order the entire meal again, minus the green beans, but the next time Id make sure Im getting what I paid $31 for (lamb chops). Its not close to my house but if I were in the area I would dine there again.
Our food was delicious & service was great! I really enjoyed the crab finger appetizer.
This place is exquisite. From the atmosphere to the service to the food, everything was on point. We absolutely loved everything we ordered. It was all fresh and perfectly prepared. It’s a little pricey but worth every cent. Get the crab leg appetizer, it will be your new favorite!
Portion sizes were great. Waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable. Food was good, although not what I expected after seeing them on Atlanta Eats some time ago. Still great ambience and value. Ill be back.
Went here for the first time with my dad on Saturday and it was a straight 10/10!!! The food came out reasonably quick, but was HOT AND FRESH! I started off with the Coronado Margarita & Fried Salmon Fingers as an app. Salmon fingers were sooooo good and they give you a lot. I got pretty full off those before my entree came. The margarita was pretty strong as well! I ordered the Crab and Shrimp Pasta and my dad ordered the Grouper Sandwich with Fries. His sandwich was a really good size, according to him the fish was fresh. He really loved the homestyle cut fries! My pasta was hot as well & loved the crab fingers in it! DEFINITELY have to come back in for brunch. Friendly staff as well!
First time eating at Capers. I was very impressed. Food was very good, excellent service, fast food preparation, and good prices for the quality you get. Lots of options on the menu. We had Parmesan crusted chicken w/ lemon caper sauce, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and fried jumbo shrimp, French fries, mashed sweet potatoes. Will definitely go back.
The Sunday brunch menu is everything!! I would recommend the food taste amazing. The service is great, with a nice calm environment.
Went for dinner with my husband. Seated promptly which was great. The service was good not great. However we really enjoyed the food. It was flavorful and delicious. We had the grouper fingers to start we shared a rack of lamb with wasabi mashed and cream spinach. Was impressed with the quality of the food but not the atmosphere. For an expensive restaurant, the decor and atmosphere was confusing and generic. Several of the booths had ripped fabric. The chair I was sitting on had ripped fabric and the chair my husband sat on was literally on its last legs. The paper on the table was ripped & crooked and the paper menus had food stains on them. Paying these prices I expected more. The restaurant is definitely in need of a makeover. Fortunately, the food was good which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. I’ll just sit outside next time.
Where do I even start here! I called on Valentines and asked to reserve a spot but they were full so I thought, what the hell lets go try to walk in and see how long the wait is. Well they said if we sat outside there is no wait, so thats what we did! They have heaters and everything out there too because it was a little chilly, but they made it comfortable for us! The drinks were good, and I was undecided on the Hawaiian Steak and the Lamb Lollipops, so I said what the hell and got both! I ate every bit of everything I got and its probably the tastiest food in the entire area! Maybe my favorite food in Georgia! Its that good folks! The food I ordered is a must try. I will HIGHLY recommend this place if out in a date night or just want to treat yourself. Food=Awesome, Service=Awesome!
Looking for a chill and relaxed setting for some dinner with family… This is the place!! Great service at the bar! She was on point with the drinks and great service! Once at the table our waitress was and informative of the menu and great service! She was on point with dessert! Pound cake!
Was told there would be a 30 minute wait. Manager saw us discussing whether we would wait that length of time and came up, greeted us and sat us immediately. Waitress was nice and attentive. Food was hot, fast and delicious! I ordered the crusted grouper. Will be returning!
I would like to start by saying thank you for being open on Valentines. I was excited that I would be able to have dinner for my daughter and I. This is her first one without her dad who passed n December and this was their day. We ordered our usual along with something new for me, a side salad.I give them an A for effort checking the order before we left, but what I did not realize until I got home was her kale salad was missing. She opened her trout it was missing the capers and sauce. I was excited about my salad and immediately became disappointed. My lettuce was dirty you could see and feel the dirt.I called up there and explained to Jillian what happened and she seemed shocked and dismayed as I.She took my number and ask if someone could call me back I agreed since I know they were busy after all it was Valentines. I expected a call back today at least since no one called. I still have the salad and will return there tomorrow. I offered to send the pictures of the lettuce she said she would call me back. There is no excuse for the improper food prep especially lettuce since so much bacteria is in soil. For $83 I expect better. Maybe they should have stayed closed yesterday.
All I have to say is this place gets it. From the food to the service. It was so nice enjoying everything about this place. Im really happy I decided to drive up and give this place a shot. Im about 40 minutes south of Capers and I will definitely be driving back up to enjoy again. I started out with the fried salmon fingers......Lawd have mercy!!! Fried to perfection. Comes with citrus tartar sauce. Ask for hot sauce with it....youll thank me later. Then I had the half order of the lamb but wish I would have gotten the full order. The apricot glaze on the chops was amazing. I also tried the stuffed flounder which was a special for the day. I really could not find anything to complain about when it came to the taste of the food. The Wasabi mashed potatoes were perfect with the flounder. You can definitely tell someone is in the kitchen cooking with love. It reflects in the food. Cant wait to return to try other items on the menu. Wish I lived a little closer.
We had a small birthday celebration at Capers last night. The service, food and ambiance were extraordinary. Thanks server Leslie and the Capers Crew for a beautiful experience. The 1st timers in our party will definitely return!
Ive been here a couple of times in the past few months with friends. Fellas birthday dinner in Oct with 5 guys. Most recently with a friend for her birthday. The food is always on point. The service was great & recommendations are always spot on.
Wow. What an excellent experience. Great service. AWESOME delicious food.My favorite COLD beer. Actually the food was sooo good I could stop to take pictures before everything was just about consumed(see photos 🤦🏼♂️🤷🏽♂️). Calamari Lobster, Crab cakes, Jumbo shrimp, Sweet potato fries & steamed vegetables just to name a few things. You wont be disappointed dining here.
Excellent food and awesome service. The fried green tomatoes were some of the best Ive had in a while. The Dijon salmon was crispy on the outside, moist and flaky on the inside. The green beans were sweet with a snap to them, and the wasabi mashed potatoes were creamy with just the right amount of heat. Well definitely be back.
Wonderful wonderful place. I first ate here at their old location and this is my third time at the Barrett Pkwy site. Capers has never disappointed! Great food, always neat and clean, tables are not too close. A elegant place but not too full of itself or stuffy. Consistent food. I had the catfish this time with the Wasabi mashed potatoes. Great stuff.
Let me just say that in a time where I have noticed all businesses are failing greatly in customer service standards Capers GETS IT RIGHT!!!!First, the high quality of the food never falls short. Drinks are amazing, ambiance even better! Always an enjoyable meal — and I’m a TRUE foodie! Second, I’ve noticed on a few occasions staff members that were not my server offered to clear plates and bring side sauces without hesitation; oftentimes without asking. It’s as if they anticipated my need which is the gold standard to good customer service.Love, love, LOVE this spot! Kudos for getting it right EVERY-TIME!
We had a private room for 14. It was clean, ready and the decorum was exceptional. The food was delicious, large portion and perfectly priced
Awesome!! The crab finger appetizer was delicious. Make sure you ask for extra bread! The watermelon martini was off the chain!!!! Looking forward to my next visit.
We absolutely enjoyed every moment of the Capers Restaurant & Bar experience. The food, the service and ambiance were amazing! Dinner at Capers was the perfect way to end a wonderful vacation❤️
While visiting family in Georgia, I was referred to Capers. The service was great and the food was even better. The blackened salmon and bow tie pasta was flavorful. And the portions were plentiful. I look forward to visiting Capers again.
Capers is a great casual local steakhouse with some flair. The staff are super friendly, and it has great atmosphere. The food was quite delicious, and the cuts of steak were great. The Hawaiian ribeye was exceptional, and th lamb lollipops were drool inducing. I would also like to highlight the brussel sprouts with bacon hollandaise, they were phenomenal. For the constructive criticism, I will say their potatoes au gratin could use some improvement. Ours were less au gratin and more of a mash. I was also hoping for the hot cheesy layer traditional for a gratin, but it was absent. Although a minor thing, I do wish they knew what a proper Pittsburg rare was, I give the chef kudos, for the attempt, but it needs a little smoothing. Now onto dessert, the strawberry shortcake was absolutely delicious and most definitely shareable, and the chocolate intemperance was nearly a death by chocolate for us, in a good way.Definitely a great family friendly local spot, next time youre in the Kennesaw area
I was very impressed with the atmosphere inside and out. I decided to sit out side. My server was on point and assisted me with the questions I had. I ordered the lamb chops but had the chef to change the apricot sauce to a lemon caper sauce. The wasabi potatoes were creamy and good. The green tomatoes good also. They say if you come later in the day you may want to do reservations.
