MoreExcellent. Fantastic informative guide. A great place to visit .
We had a great day here, very interesting tour and very nice people.
The mine is surprisingly intriguing. The guide was nice and helpful in understanding what you are seeing in the mine.
MoreWhat an adventure, for olders and younger.. amazing
We visited the Capelton mine as a family activity and we all enjoyed it.We booked an English tour (call ahead to arrange it. Our young guide Cole was knowledgeable and engaging and brought to life this little corner of Quebec history.
MoreGreat historical site...
Super cool. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed it. The guides are informative and engaging. Theres a lot of info on what the working conditions were like and how it impacted the miners. the ticket price seemed a little high at first, but its well worth it. I would recommend this visit for adult couples and families alike.
MoreGreat staff! I learned things I will remember for the rest of my life.
Great weekend visit for the kids and adults alike. The staff is very friendly. Wish the prospector tour lasted a bit longer but we had loads of fun and learned a lot about what it meant to be a miner in the late 19th century. Highly recommend.
MoreWhat a unique experience. There are tours in both French and English.
Our family of three were the sole participants in Coles tour group today. He didnt disappoint! Friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, informative and able to keep even our eight year old engaged for over an hour and a half! Protip- if youre able, take your tour in English for a more personalized experience. French language groups appeared to have upwards of 15 people each. Price is for completely justified once you understand the amount of labour that goes into the running the mine. Thank you for a memorable experience!
MoreFun, educational family experience, kids enjoyed the prospecting more than the cave. Pricey for what you get.
MoreThis place is totally worth the visit! Our tour guide Cole was simply amazing! Answered all of our questions made things super interesting!Definitely worth the visit!
MoreThe expérience was great, just a bit pricey in my opinion.
A unique and eye-opening experience
Great place to remember miners and their history. I dont recommend the gold exploration in a nearby river, its not worth it (theres no explanation or context or history given; you wear boots and look for gold - you can do that yourself, on your own time), unless you simply wish to give money to a local business! Fun visit of the mine. I enjoyed listening to the explanations and history! Lasts about two hours in total (including truck rides up and down to and from the mine entrance).
MoreGreat experience for the family! Definitely recommend it! My kids loved it! Excellent tour guides! A must see!
MoreVery interesting place!
Guides were great. Perfect for a family outing.
Great place to visit for the whole family! 1:40 visit in the mine, going 3 levels down.
MoreNice place to go with kids, nice souvenir also at cheap price
Amazing history, right in the middle of the nature, great tour guide, little on experience for entry fee but I guess its worth the time and experience.
MoreVery interesting minery/museum !!
Well organized tours with lots of information given by entertaining guides who were quite the fast talkers. We chose the visit in French as we are bilingual and wanted our children to practice but the English ones were also available. It really made the kids, and us, realize how hard the miners worked.
MoreVery nice visit; informative and fascinating, especially going inside the actual mine.
MoreCool!
cannot post without rating. closed on weekdays in the low season...check first!
Great excursion with our kids. Reservation is mandatory so be sure to call them.
Really great! Went with our 5 and 7 year old 5 year old got a little tired but 7 year old loved it Our guide Charles was fantastic. Interesting and informative. Recommended!
MoreAmazing kids friendly experience and very informative tour ...
Fun tour, would go again.
We are a family of 4 and went in a group of french tour with our personal guide in english. Awesome visit worth every pennies spent. Kids friendly, rain or shine as most of the tour is underground. Guides are well trained. High 5 outing.
MoreGreat adventure for all the family!
There is so much untold history about the mines, the Albert Mines of the Albert Mining Co. in Boston. The Albert Mines were key suppliers of copper to the damnyankees during the Civil War. The mines were abandoned and left as a scar on the side of a mountain. However, there were bonuses such as a playground for local kids in the 50s and 60s, a well-used lovers lane and acres of blueberry bushes which seem to thrive in cuprous soil.At one time the Albert Mines was a going concern employing hundreds of people
MoreNice organized tour
Since most of the underground was flooded, not much to see. We only visited the first layer of the mine cave, not very impressed.
MoreDefinitely worth going to. Fascinating tour of a historic mine.
What a great experience! The owner was sooo nice as we got ready for our tour and our tour guide was so knowledgeable and funny (all the more impressive considering it was all in English too!). I’ve never seen anything like this place, it’s a must see in all of Quebec!
MoreInteresting history, very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide Michel. Cool place to visit on a hot day.
MoreGreat place for kids 5+. The guided tour of the mine is really cool! You learn a bit about the history of the mine. The staff there is very friendly. Theyre happy to have you there. The snack bar has excellent soup and sandwiches, hot dogs for kids and desserts for everyone. Gift shop is very nice.We also did the prospecting tour, we went into a calm stream ankle high water and were taught how to prospect for precious gems.Must see for anyone. Great place and staff. 6 🌟
MoreA unique experiance, a little bit of nature ( gold searching in the river, and a tour in the mine that feels like a walk in a big cave . appropriate for ages 3.5 and up. They even provide boots and a sweater for the cave. Explanations are provided in both French and English, very friendly!!!!
Morewell informed staff
Worth the detour! Fascinating!
Great fun for the whole family. I would say ages 5 and up. We learned a lot about the region. Very well explained and super interesting.
