Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course in Cape Girardeau
Description
Privilege
Course is in great condition. Tough greens.
Great service, very friendly and accommodating. I live and play golf in the Pinehurst NC area. We have and are known for some of the finest golf courses in the country. Tobacco Road and Pinehurst #2. Just to name a couple. They are beautiful courses one private and the other public. But neither one is in better shape than this course! The fairways are like carpet and the greens roll trueYes it is a public course and shame on those who do not repair their ball marks. But for the money I would dare anyone to complain. This is a jewel of a course and my only complaint was I couldnt hang around and play it everyday for at least a week. Hats off the ground crew and staff for a wonderful round of golf!! I would give you 10 stars if I could.
MoreThis was the second time I’ve played the course. I enjoyed it both times. Nice people!
MoreGreat condition and friendly staff
Absolutely beautiful golf course! Well maintained. Great greens. Cart paths in good shape. Senior discount!!! Course itself is 5-star, but signage is lacking. Easy to get lost 🙁 and no distance-to-green markers.
MoreNice course thats well maintained.
Great course with good prices! I co.e here all the time!
Great service. Well kept course. Reasonable cost.
I love playing this course. Have been playing here for years. Nice hills and scenery.
MoreCourse was in pretty good shape considering all of the rain weve had over the last couple of weeks. Friendly and helpful staff.
MoreIt’s not at its best this time of year, but still a fun course.
Great local golf course
Cart would shut down before you got to the white stake at some of the green areas.
MoreFun, says you are open, can you change it?
Great course layout. Perfect amount of hills and hazards
Course was in wonderful condition. I was started on the back 9 and breezed through got to #1 and hit a road block, front took twice as long as the back had. Marshall stopped by and apologized for the slow play, his job is to correct these things not apologize for them.
MoreOne of my favorite public courses in the area! Love the layout and the challenging greens. Staff always helpful. Was on hole 16 and the rain was setting in, they came and got us and said the course was closing and gave all of us an 18 hole raincheck.
MoreThe course "Marshall" was extremely rude and disrespectful. We were playing a foursome starting at 5:30. We were on hole 15 by 8:20. Which if you conisder 18 normally takes 3 and a half to 4 hours we were on pace. When the "Marshall" dedicded he wanted to go home. Even though it was still light outside and others were on the course playing. I can only assume its because of the incounter we had earlier. On a hole earlier in the round we were hit into by a solo player. He teed off and drove the ball into the woods then he re teed and hit another ball into us. As he drove up to where we were he fliiped us off and cussed us for not letting him play through even though he never had to wait on a tee box. The "marshall" oversaw all of this and did nothing. We asked the "Marshall" to please speak with this man to which the "marshall" said he was a regular but he would talk to him. Fast forward to hole 15. The "marshall" drove right up to us as we were teeing off and told us it was time to be done. "Hey guys its time to head in... sorry you didnt finish one of you must be playing slow...." when we got to the parking lot the "marshall" was even more confrontational waiting for us there to continue being rude and told us to get our stuff out of the cart and leave. The course however was awesome and very well kept up. The staff especially the marshall was rude, disrespectful and unprofessional.
MoreIf I could rate my experience I would give it less than one star. I am a student athlete at at Semo and I have been to Jaycee 3 times and I was refused the opportunity to play. I tried today and about 5 o’clock and they told me it was too late to play when their website says they close at 8. The sun was not even close to being down and on top of that they replied to me asking if I could play 9 with “absolutely not” was very disappointed on not playing and also a bit offended with the attitude and how rude everyone has been to me every time I have went. Will not return and will advise others not to go.
MoreAs a senior in high school, I am on my schools golf team. Jaycee Golf Course makes it possible for us to come and practice whenever we want to, and they give us the privilege of using this course as our home course. Very friendly staff, and very nice course to relax and play on. I recommend this course also because the price that you pay is very fair and affordable for a membership.
MoreIm a novice at best, but I have played on a fair amount of golf courses since I began playing. Jaycee is a great course for people like myself who are still learning our games but want a challenge. Being a college student on a budget the price is more than fair. I would recommend this course to anyone, and I enjoy bringing family from out of town to play the course.
MoreSince the remodel, the greens and fairways are much better. However, because of the dislike of Hole 11, they revamped the entire layout of the back 9 which in my opinion did it more harm than good. Par 5 Hole 11 easily reachable in 2 to anyone who can hit a 260 tee shot, Par 4 Holes 13 and 14 are both under 300 and easily drive-able, and Hole 15 tee shot has a landing area that includes the green for 14, tee box for 13, and green for 12. A slight fade or slice could easily injure other players. Playing on the weekend is less than desirable with the weekend hackers taking 5 hours to play their round. With the course being so short, scoring opportunities are available, but an experienced golfer will have more enjoyment elsewhere.
