Not a difficult trail, suitable for all ages, simply rest in between turns and anyone can make it to the top. Plenty of shade along the road as well. Trees are almost outgrown the tower and partially block the beautiful panoramic view.

A lot of stairs then more stairs when you reach the top. Would be fine if the view was great but my friends thought it wasnt that interesting. Wasnt sure what Grade 3 meant but even though it is a short walk -its not fun if you are unfit.

Was looking forward to these great views everyone on here raves about, but was disappointed after a fairly steep climb from the carpark to the top of the tower. Am thinking sunset would be the best time to go, if you want to go. Need to be fairly fit to do the steep climb. Is a Grade 3. There are seats along the way to rest if you need to. We were up the top of the tower when a large group of people came up. Could feel the tower wobbling and it was crowded up there. Went to McBride’s beach after this which was much more enjoyable even though that track is challenging.

One of our fav spots when in Forster. It’s a nice little hike up to the top with beautiful views of Forster. Definitely take mosquito repellent, sunscreen & lots of water!Just wish you were able to see the lake side. Would be nice if they built it up one more level!

Its a perfect lookout, however you need to be fairly fit as there are quite a few steps to get there as well as 4 flights up to the vantage point itself. Worth it for the views.

Must be able to walk a steep track from top car turnabout to access the lookout as both older view points have bush totally obscuring view these days

A steep hike up to a rewarding lookout tower. Seats are available every few bends up to rest and recover. Spray yourself with some insect repellent as the mosquito population will eat you alive.

A great lookout and hike. It’s not too long and they have seats every few minutes on the hike up. The views once there are great. Best part is the walk back is all downhill.

Quite easy path walking up to the tower but there is not much up there as the trees. You can literally see the ocean and a stunning view of the valley though.

One of our things to do when we’re in Forster. Having an expectation for the nice view from the lookout, I was a bit disappointed. It’s a kind of bush walk but all on staircases, roughly 386 and another 47 steps up the tower. If you have knee problems like me, you have to take this into account. The view from the lookout is just ok as the trees blocking part of it.

A pleasant but steep climb to top of lookout. Walking through bush. Wear sturdy walking shoes. Allow yourself 10 min one way. Not a long walk. Gorgeous views at the top.

Went in the evening to see the sunset. Good views of Forster/Great Lakes region. Make sure you bring mozzie repellant and prepare for a long steep walk (that can be a bit much for some).

View is nice but would love to have a map/ further information regarding what youre seeing from the top. Please note that you need to walk~15min up the mountain to get to the viewpoint.

Number one attraction in Forster. Less than a km.walk but steep climb. Resting Ben hes are avAilable. Too many mosquitoes, so take aeroguard. Choose a clear sky day to get the best view. Yes, over a period.of many years, the bush around the lookout has overgrown. If you delay a few more years more views will be blocked by bush.

Lovely short track, nice view from the summit. Easy track for different age, beginners or professional sportives. It has lots of benches for the rest on the way, so feel free to seat there and breathe the lovely atmosphere.

Seems like a very nice lookout. Unfortunately it was raining and the view was limited, but we enjoyed the place. After arriving in the carpark, theres a 400m track to get to the summit, which took us around 20 min return.

Nice walk up to the viewing platform. I’d certainly take some bug spray for the mosquitos. The view isn’t too bad from a distance. It’s approximately a 15min walk up to the platform the 46 steps to the top of the viewing platform.

If youre visiting Forster for the first time this is a great vantage spot to get your bearings. The walk up is relatively steep (expect sore calves the following days if youre a novice hikertheres approximately five rest stop benches spaced out along the path. The viewing platform is up ~three flights of stairs.Well worth it for the view.

Pack some insect repellant as there are mosquitoes 🦟 all through the bush that you’ll walk through until you arrive at the base of the lookout structure. If you’re taking little ones, you’ll need to move quick as there pace is too slow and they get eaten alive.Great view once you get to the top providing you 360 degree views of the coast and inland area, you should give it a go in your travelling through or camping on a long weekend.

From parking you have a 420m walk with a elevation of 200m so up hill all the way. There are three rest stops on the way. When you get to the top there is a furthur 50 steps to the observation deck. Is it worth it, yes it is views are brilliant.

Really glad we found this gem while passing through the area! The walk is marked as a 30min walk return but we managed to get there in less than 10 mins although we were power walking and taking short breaks on the many benches along the climb. Great views of the ocean and it’s serenity however some of the trees are a bit tall. Some visitors have started a trend of locking engraved padlocks onto the railing too so keep this in mind if you’re a romantic!

Good view to be had but not quite 360 as the trees have grown too tall for the platform. Note some level of fitness required for an uphill climb of about 500m and then a 48-step high structure... worth the trip if you want some exercise.
