Canyon Lake Park in Lead

Very nice park with lots of playground equipment for the little ones.

This is the perfect park to walk your dog. Pretty lake setting, easy loop to walk and good amount of parking. Stumbled upon this after Chapel in the Hills (another Rapid City mustbecause the dog needed to be walked. Highly recommend stopping!

Very clean park to let kiddos explore the outdoors! Has some decent fishing once you figure out the tricks of it too that was fun for us as fishing was our purpose to the park!

It was 8pm. Still hot outside. The lake stunk badly. Other then that. It was okay..

Canyon Lake Park is one of my favorite places to walk. The path all around makes it easy! My wife and I also live to stop near the creek and listen to the water. Other awesome things are the open spaces for picnics and gatherings, playgrounds for the kids, swings for the kids at heart (shoe throwing contest anyone?), and shelters for groups. Thats not even mentioning the lake, the bridge, the fishing, the boat rentals. Love me some Rapid City parks!

Loved the serenity and the beauty of the setting

Took great granddaughter to play on playground near dam. Great time not crowded at all.

Great for the family lots of out door activities for all ages including fishing and multiple playground areas. Has shelters for rent at rapid city parks and rec. Plenty of hibachi charcoal grills for use.

Very awesome experience, the staff went way beyond to make are adventure enjoyable. Highly recommend anyone to come out and see for yourself.

We happened by the park on our way to the little chapel on the hill. They had several good trucks in the parking lot so we stopped and got wonderful meals. We had food from Good Stuffed and Philly Teds. We were extremely happy and full. Also the park is beautiful, we got there with about a half hour before the trucks left so we didnt get to enjoy the beautiful park and its surroundings.

Sprawled out with multiple water features playgrounds and picnic areas. Ducks, fishing, popular wedding site. Memorial site as there was a neighborhood here before the big flood in the 1970s.

My favorite park in Rapid City. Beautiful scenery and plenty of playgrounds for the kiddos. The park is well taken care of, never see any trash laying/blowing around. There is plenty to do for any age!

Very windy today but , the baby ducks were super cute and took my mind off of the wind..lol

Mothers Day BBQ... a lot of families in the park. I was struck that for all of those people there was no trash anywhere. Seems strange to call a park "clean" but it was. Bathrooms clean, in working order. Unusual for an unattended park. Good job, Rapid City parks!

My grandfathers house is near here so I have had the pleasure of visiting many times over the last half century. I moved away for a while and it was a pleasent surprise to see improvements and still see the diverse wildlife. I also enjoyed the lights and decorations thoughout the holiday. The park during the summer has activities for all ages and lifestyles.

Beautiful park year round! Lots of places to walk, bike, take your pets, and skate. Ducks and geese are always out and about, all around a very nice, scenic park!

Beautiful spot. There were flowers, ducks and fish when I visited, not to mention the geese and the beautiful trees. Also, families having their professional photos taken, artists painting, children playing, families celebrating, people fishing and many others just enjoying the day at the park.

Beautiful place for daily exercise, fun with family. Only downside is they do not have swings to accommodate special needs kiddos. My 8 year old is 13 months developmentally and he loves to swing. He is getting to big for baby swings.

I love this park for walking my dog, almost year round. Likes to take a dip in the creek.

We had an absolute blast. Water was shallow enough for the kids-it even had a makeshift border made of rock so the kids wouldnt get close to any deep water or the current. Loved it

Was pleasant to walk around. It also have many trees and fishing. I think everyone should have a visit and enjoy nature and sunshine.

Tranquil, peaceful, calming surroundings, playgrounds for children, Barbeques interspersed with picnic tables. Lake and waterways for the fisherman or fisherwoman. Bike and foot trails.

The spacious waterfront area is pucturesque with trees and waterfowl. Walking trails and footbridges going over the water and around the lake are perfect for (almostany-season strolls. I found gaggles of geese and maintained public restrooms near a small garden.

Awesome park for all ages. Plenty of clean park benches and tables around. Well groomed and maintained walking trail along side the lake. Small fishing docks are well kept and in good order. The gazebo on the island is clan and well maintained. The play ground equipment is in good order. Be warned that there is plenty of duck and goose poo around the lakes grassy areas and trail.

Great campground and cabins. On small lake closer to Rapid City and convenient to Black Hills attractions.

This is a really cool area. Great place to walk your dog or to just go for a walk. I really liked watching the bald eagle flying around.

Great little park in the city. There were lots of picnic shelters inside the park. There is a picnic area that’s accessed from outside the park above the dam that is quiet for those that want to find an option without the people around. We had breakfast up there and walked the pups on the other side. Great stop!

Very pretty a little sad you cant go to the island you need a reservation to go. Bathrooms are well maintained and it looks like a great place to celebrate a birthday party! Over by the bathrooms the had a really cool community bike repair station. Ill be coming back when I come to Rapid city!

A great place to visit when staying in Rapid City. This park is awesome with some really amazing views. A great location for picnic or a walk or even just to relax the day away. My family and I always visit this park when we vacation in Rapid City. You can also rent paddle boats from the lodge and go around the lake.

Stranded in Rapid City during a Thanksgiving blizzard. Visited the park while waiting for the roads to clear. Great in 6-8 inches of snow. Hope to stop again in a different season.

This is a beautiful park, the weather is perfect, and is great for walking / running / biking.I wish there were reasonable bike rentals nearby. $30 a Day is ridiculous. How about $30 a week?

Very clean and taken care of. A lot of room and wasnt crowded when we were there. There are fish docks, paddle boats to rent, fly fishing areas, playground and more! We will definitely be here more!

Beautiful park that I really enjoy walking around at. The lake is crystal clear and the scenery is beautiful. I would recommend checking it out at sunset or for a walk in the evening
