Cantina Vasca in Montevideo
Description
Privilege
MoreExcelente lugar, comida extraordinaria, buena atencion.
MoreExcellent food
The food was incredible, Id dare to say one of the best meals Ive had in the last years. A hidden gem in downtown Montevideo!
No volveremos.
MoreNice Place...
MoreGreat place to eat euskadi food. Prices are reasonable, great variety of dishes and drinks.
MoreExcellent Basque food in the old town. We had paella and tapas - super good. It feels like a tavern, and seems like it has been there forever, even though its only 11 years old. Best to book ahead: we went on a Friday night and every seat at every table was full by 9 pm. Prices are great: all included, it cost 700 pesos per person. Great value for money! Be aware that the paella usually takes about 40 minutes to prepare. Highly recommended for a fun, casual meal in a lively atmosphere.
MoreFood was wonderful and the sangria was magical. The decor is really cool. I gave it 4 stars because the bill was a little steep compared to other places. My brother had La Lengue (2nd photowhich was surprisingly excellent..tender and flavorful. A perfect place for a special occasion dinner
MoreGreat peek at Basque cuisine, very different from Spanish dishes!
This is one of my favorite places in Montevideo, it just never fails. The food is amazing and the service is great. It does get pretty full so its better to make a reservation first.
MoreUnprofessional customer service attitude.
Great place
The place is nice, looks very cozy and invites you to spend a night with friends, the food was not bad but could have been better. It was full so the service was a little overwhelmed.
MoreVery good taste and attendence
Amazing food and place, you can enjoy a different experience there!

MoreHighly recommended. Beautiful meal of grilled haddock and pear salad with a bottle of Chardonnay. Excellent service. Our waiter Matias was friendly and helpful. He suggested the glazed pear and ice cream for dessert and it was delectable. Very fine evening and wonderful food and service.
MoreHad an excellent fish stew. Nice cosy atmosphere.

MoreA foreign girl Recomended me this place that was Recomended to her by the locals, they dont charge you for the table service as in other nice places, prices are good, great service, good wine from the house and the meals are good, fresh sea food, a lot of older people goes there upper class I would say but still amazingly goodThe salads are great
MoreIncredible food. Tasty and beautifull! Not a romantic place though.
Ok
Great place to eat. Not to expensive
Excellent
The food was delicious, the portions were big and enough. We had sangria to drink and it was fresh and with a lot of fruit. I recommend to order the shrimp salad and the fried squid, we had them as entrees, and we were very happy with both. We had some issues with a dish and asked the server to took it back, and they charged us for it anyway, we were very disappointed by the managers decision, but there was nothing that could be done about it.
MoreVery nice place to eat out, set up in spain bar
Awesome home made food from this Spanish region. Big servings fair prices.
Loved it!
Great Basque food at a reasonable price. The place is a bit hidden but the inside is cozy and hardly ever full.
MoreBest place to eat Basque food in Montevideo. This is not an upscale place, but a really nice pub with excellent food and not so crazy prices. I cant compliment these guys enough. Their appetizer platters are perfect for groups, and you can get nice drinks too. One of my favorites dinner places in the city.
MoreBest restaurant I visited in Montevideo. Great fish dishes and they have craft beer!
MoreGot to come and try the paella!
