Camping Athens - in Kamaterón, Greece
What a travesty
We were very satifsied with camp when visiting Athens. Great place, shop with top fruit nearbye, superclean, helpful staff. We had a dog so we also used taxi to the city 12 eur one direction, back 8 eur so for 3 persons or more better and faster choise than public transport.
We stayed one night and thanks to the instructions of the receptionist we could see most of the popular attractions. Very well organised campsite. The noise from the busy national road in front did not disturb us at all. Pitches are broad and secluded. Facilities are well maintained and clean, although the shower rooms could use some modernising.
A beautiful camping not far from the city center. You can go to Sintagma square by bus and metro easily. The camping is clean, silent, in the shadow of olves , palms and other trees. The staff is very kind and they help you in organizing you stay in Athens
The woman from the campsite is very rude. We couldnt put our caravan how we wanted because of the rules. She smiles only when you pay. She said that Sikia Camping doesnt respect the rules. Sikia is more better than this one. We didnt find many campsites in Athens. We thought that here will be great because of the facilities but we regreted this. Is very expensive. For this price we could stay in Sikia for 2 nights. I dont recommend it !!
The only campsite in the Athena area.Decent, safe, neither cheap or expensive, clean (congratulations to the cleanerkeeps an old campsite functional.Ideal location to visit the city.
Im a farmer but i need work thanks.camp different people and no enjoy different life?no work only sleep and eat anything no good 👍
DO NOT STAY HERE. The owner/manager was both rude and arrogant as reported by other guests. The camping is located directly next to an 8 lane highway making it extremely noisy at night. The camping is also overpriced and expensive 10€/adult, 7€/child, 10€/car - there are many hotels are cheaper than this. We left after 15 minutes...very sad indeed.
For me the most important thing about this camping is that you can reach Athens city center by public transport. The owner is really helpful. The camping is perfectly clean.
Um just too triggered to write a lot and explain whats wrong with this camping, but its just bad...
No never more! I dont recommend it to anyone. Ill get the man down! We paid 108 EUR for 1 day !!! They explained that we left the "camping" after 14 hours! Of course, they don’t take into account that due to the unfortunate forest fires we have to have the windows closed, the ash on our outdoor table stood thick, the pins worked ridiculously if they worked. Just as they liked the water, the hofs were varied. However, it received 1 star because the transportation is relatively convenient. And Felhaborito has been to about 100 campsites, we havent experienced this! 40 km further sea full extra 26 euros pern day.
The most unfrendly stuff I have ever met in Greece. If possible, do not stop here.
Kind people. Very clean bathroom.Cost for one day, July 2021, 2 people and 1 camper wirhout electricity: 30 euros.
Shade, very kind people. We stay here to visit Athene. Bus nearby Camp, than metro to the centre.
Great city camping. Very close by city center of Athens.
I have mI have more than 20 years camping experiences on three continents and about 30 states, but this was the worst experience; i have never ever meet such rude, insulting and sublim manager as here. Her behaviur is just unbelivable, such person should not work with people at all. Later have talked to my campercars collegs who had camped here in past, and they all had similar experience.
They asked 40 euro per night for 3 people, a tent and a car without electricity at 7 km from the city centre. You are next to a six lane road and theres nothing good around. For that price we had a 3 star hotel near the city centre and we even saved 1 euro per night. They should review their prices because theres something that doesnt work. People go to campings to save money but if I have to pay more than hotels then you go there.
Can’t understand the negative reviews. The camping is a garden in the city and clean with good showers and friendly and helpful people working there. It is not loud like city campings that I went before and they even printed some papers for me without paying.
I get there some days before Christmas and the prices were much higher than the prices announced on the web site and by telephone. So it was really too expensive for parking in this empty camping in winter, better pay for an hotel room! Also the owner is terribly aggressive and really hate French people, she also refused that we pay just for a shower.
Excellent camp as close to Athens as you will get in this busy city. We walked just over 1k to metro station. But there is a bus stop just across road into the city. Just about 500 m walk up Around the corner to a shopping and raturant street. Grocery store just 1 block down hill.Park is super clean , safe secure. Lady operator speaks several languages including French and English. The price is a little high. But you get nice hot water, clean facilities. Greywater and chemical toilet disposal. I have stayed here twice now, and will do so again.
Selfmade Campingcars are not accepted
Only for automobile travelers you need a bike to go downtown or at metro station. The good thing is the bus stop is near the entrance of camping
Kind and helpful people. Very convenient to visit the center of Athens. Well cared place.
Only for a minimal stay. Showers and toilets are clean. Too expensive for its value and very noisy even at night, theres an 8 lane car road next to it. The manager lady is really unfriendly, smiles only when you pay and leave. Also the laundry is overpriced and that women is watching closely and directs you how to put your clothes into the washing machine. Its ridiculous. The place for tents is between the restaurant and the toilets so dont expect any privacy.
Please remember to email property if you want to stay.
Right in the heart of Athens with friendly, helpful staff
Upon arrival we were told to wait outside as they had some group booking that had priority. Then the manager was all stressful and unfriendly about our one night stay. After being parked in a tiny site, I inspected the site, discovering there was still sites available, I conclude that the management take preference on certain nationalties, ages and treats others with poor hospitality. Poor value for money, as prices are top end.
Definitely a good clean and tidy campsite. Tons of hot water. Very handy for visiting Athens and the local sites. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Would certainly recommend. Lots of greenery, brilliant for dogs.
Nice clean safe campground. Very nice and helpful campground hosts. They have helped us with our trip to the islands and allowed us to park our motorhome for €10 per day in a safe place inside. It meant a lot to us to know it was safe. It is a very expensive campground but i dont think its up to the hosts to determine the pricing. Very easy bus connection to anywhere in town. 30-40 minutes to both Athens and Pireaus port.Very affordable and safe transit for only €9 for a 5day pass that gets you on all buses and metro except airport i think. Best value compared to other cities in Europe.Athens was also very clean and safe to visit while we were here.
Very unfriendly and repellent owner!Doesnt want overlanders with trucks as guests. If you dont want my money, other people will take it.
Clean camping, ok situated towards the centre (bus takes still a long time because of traffic). But ridicoulus prices!! 49,50 we paid per night in December with a camper. This outrageous price does not match this camping.
Skupo, vrlo bučno cijelu noć jer je uz glavnu prometnicu. Gospođa s recepcije se ponaša krajnje neljubazno i neprofesionalno.Very expensive and loud place because it is located by the main street. Employee from the reception desk is extremely unkind and unprofessional.
I was staying by tent for close to one week. Well you get what you need: a shower, toilets, a place to stay. However, prices are high for what you get. The reception is doing as little effort as possible and shows their thoughts openly about their customers. So I consider the campsite a possibility to stay, but not comfortable, charming or as a nice memory. It must be mentioned, that the campsite is probably meant for caravans. If you come by tent, be prepared of very hard ground, and no privacy.
Nice camping but bossy woman from reception takes away two stars. Makes problems out of nothing and everything is difficult, from arrival to payment. Noisy from main road, lots of cars and trucks all night. Not pet friendly. Good for one night only.
Professional, well-established in-city camping, easy to access and within reasonable distance from downtown. Owner/manager with serious experience keeps order and helps where needed. Toilets/shower are very clean, the garden is nicely maintained. Quiet.10 mins walk from a gastronomical and shopping street. 7-10 Euro taxi to Parthenon
Close to the main points in Athens, basic services
Very clean place and great sanitair facilities. Access is alright from the city by public transport, closest camping at least around Athens. On the downside the location is close to a busy highway so it can be noisy. For 2 people bringing our own tent we spend €25,- , another €4 for electricity. Can set up your tent in the shade!
Receptionists very very unfriendly! They do pretend to have washing facilities. These are not on the campground and you have to go there with the receptionist and when she has time to. She controls every peace you want to wash and lets you only wash clothes!!! No for example stuffed animal or bed linen allowed!???? Do not stay!
Excellent campsite very close to Athens cityQuick taxi ride (which reception will arrange for yougets you directly into the city centre.(there is also a bus stop right outside)The lady who runs the campsite is very nice and very helpful and gave us good advise about what to do and see in beautiful Athens she will also help you park your camper van in the best spots, all the staff were wonderful the lady who checked us in was also very friendly and helpful and the cleaning team do a great job too, the showers and toilet areas are spotlessly clean. Also 24 hour security & reception which is very reassuring...All in all a great experience and 5 stars to Camping Athens
Very, very expensive, loud as it is on the 6 lane road, owner rude..Only good position for a short stay if visiting Athens..
The only campground in Athens. Located about 8kms from the city centre. Not cheap at 15 Euro a nite for 1 person/1 tent. Showers and toilets are very clean. Negatives -- its located next to a busy highway so dont expect it to be a nice quiet place. However, its well-located and very easy to get to anywhere in Athens including to and from the airport by bus or metro. Helen, the owner/manager is very helpful and will give you all the information you need to get around.
Security risk! Our camper was broken up by some thieves. We left the place for 5 minutes.
Pay attention and dont take a place right side of the camp site entrance. Insist on a usual place. The lady is a great story teller why it is not possible to get a place between usual campers.
If you get a place right side alone I recommend you to take another campsite in athen.
I would expect higher security level in that area of the city.
I cant recommend this place. Incredible unfriendly and rude. We stayed there 10 Minutes till we decided to go, cause we felt so unwelcome and unhappy there. I really understand, when you are no morning person, but shouting and arguing with customer for no reason, is not going to work.
There was nobody at reception when we came, so we set the tent and came back later. They made us move the tent cause they didnt like were we put it. They gave us a small pitch all rocks. No wi-fi, very noisy place because of the cars on the road near the camping site.
Worst camping i ever saw ...few grass and rocky ground...not nice for tents ....i do not recommend
There are some + and - :+ Great location. Easily accessible from the Athens city center. There are two more campings in Athens but, to my best knowledge, it takes much more time to get to them.+ Nice staff. They are helpful. We nicknamed the cleaning man "Mr. Good morning" since he greeted everyone, everywhere, at any time :People working in such places should always behave like that man.+ Very clean place. We were traveling through the Balkans and stayed in a number of campings. This one was the cleanest. Mr Good morning took care of every square inch.- Lack of common kitchen and fridge. The second one is especially uncomfortable since, if youre a backpacker, you cant buy anything bigger to eat because you are not able to store it. And the temperature in summer doesnt make it easier.- Very expensive. The price is way too high for a camp with no pool, no kitchen and no fridge.- Very strict rules as to cleanliness and organization. Youre not allowed to prepare your own food on the common tables, youre allowed only to 2 different ones. Sometimes they are both occupied and there might be a problem if a third group of people wants to eat.We asked the staff to store our sandwiches with cheese in the fridge in the restaurant kitchen (we were going to leave the next morning and spend 2 days on a busbut they claimed it was forbidden. Forbidden or not, in my opinion it is just kind and very helpful to let someone put their cheesey sandwiches into the fridge when there is no common fridge in the camp. The temperature didnt allow to have it fresh and not melted the next day. There were barely few people in the camp when we arrived. We were showed to the area for tents, we put up our tent. Then we were asked to move our tent a meter away because it was "one the walking trail" then. No walking trail was visible, also no people crowding towards us were visible. All in all, the camp is worth recommending due to its location and cleanness. There are a few points the owner should think through, like the common fridge. The price conditiones the fact that such facilities should be provided.
Not too bad. Not to far from the city center. In order to go there youd better take a taxi to Aghia Marina metro station, which only costs 3,50 euro and then its 5 stops to Synthagma square at the cost of 1,40 euro. The camping provides very clean bathrooms with toilet paper, soap and hand dryers. The showers are free with hot water. There is a laundry room. The mini market is a bit expensive. Its very very hot in July. If you go by caravan, I advice the use of air conditioning.
Unfriendliest camping weve ever been. Lies on a huge street on the outskirts of Athens, sanitary complex pretty old.
The best location for a big camper in Athens. Everything works, polite personal, clean place and everything is working. We have a dog and he was allso very satisfied. No problems at all. The prices are allso ok.Thanks to the personal!
You can be Happy when water runs out of the showers, because of the lime. This cp is really bad for tents because the underground is hard and without gras. Also cats run around and try to destroy your tent and no one cares here. They take 9,50 per person and 6 per tent. Plus 3,50 for motorcycles. So expensive for a pretty bad camping site. Not to forget its horrible loud here because of the nearby mainroad.
