Camp Elim - in Forster, Australia
Camp Elim is a wonderful place to stay with family and friends. We celebrated our sons 15th birthday with a few of his friends from school and we all had a fabulous time on the lake, in the ocean, playing basketball, using the standup boards, snorkelling and spear fishing. Plenty of activities to do for the whole family.
Had a wonderful experience staying at Camp Elim.. beautiful spot nice view of lake at the place and seven mile beach on just 400m walk. All other beaches in forster are approx. 10mins drive
Been comming here for 12 yrs. My Inlaws have been comming here for nearly 30 yrs.. its mostly pleasant and quiet. Usually clean and tidy, our kids love it here as the lake is very safe. Good for fishing also.Alot of RUDE Foreigners with a complete dis regard for others and Elim rules staying here this timePeople just need to be reminded of the speed limit and the No Smoking policies on site, no parking on camp sites and the NOISE CURFEW!!!The lakeside bathrooms have not been cleaned in the last 2 days which is very odd as this is not usually the case. There seems to be a lack of care in regards to the park rules from the managers this time :-(A Family bathroom would make life easier for families especially those with special needs children, my daughter also had to be showered in the mens bathroom one night due to someone un necessarily using the "disabled" bathroom....
What a loverly quiet relaxing place, this is a hidden gem of the North Coast of NSW. No alcohol means no nightly yahooing from undesirables and no TV is a great break from reality. If you want to party go elsewhere, however if you want to unwind and enjoy nature in peasant serene surroundings this is the place for you. I can’t wait to come back, thank you.
The Cabin can host max 7 guests. It is very spacious for two people. It is clean and tidy. Free Wi-Fi Internet speed is 5mpbs/1mpbs (download/uploadvia NBN FWB services. It can watch the beautiful Sunset and watch the enormous Sun Rise on the 7 miles beach side.
Great place to reset and relax.
Lovely spot to relax and rest. Really helpful staff.
Beautiful camping area !Noise restrictions after 9.30 brilliant !Had a great & relaxing time !
We have returned here multiple times. The position on the lake and the beach across the road is absolutely lovely. Great staff and clean new amenities. Love the sunsets over the lake.
Fantastic campsite. Great lakeside location. Short walk to beach. Family-friendly environment. Safe, drug & alcohol-free. Camp Elim is a real winner in my book.
Great camp site by the water good facilities
Camp Elim is in a beautiful location, and staff work hard to ensure everyone has a pleasant stay. The facilities are great, and maintained throughout the day. A great place to camp and reconnect with nature.
A fantastic location. Lake on one side, ocean on the other. Our kids had a great time, and we as parents felt at ease knowing they were in a safe and comfortable environment. The big swing was a hit, the kayaks too, and movie night was not to be missed. We have been going there for a few years now, and made lots of friends and memories.
Well, we decided to take a chance on Camp Elim because it looked good on the internet - nothing ventured, nothing gained as it is said. In this instance, all we gained was great disappointment and frustration at a packed and noisy camping area. We were crammed into the "lakeside area", which is comprised of 23 sites that only measure about 5m x 7m, (most of which were occupiedand not really at the lakes side either. We were surrounded on all four sides by other campers and were just metres from the basketball court. Consequently, it felt like the Hume Highway due to kids running around close to our tent and we were floodlit like the MCG until the lights went off at 9.30pm. Not relaxing in the slightest! Then, bright and early at 6.40am, we were awoken by the “doink doink" of basketballs on the court and shortly thereafter the campers next to us (as in a metre or two from our tent!singing a boisterous round of Happy Birthday. So much for a noise curfew until 8am. So... that was our experience and, suffice it to say, it will be our only experience with Camp Elim. We originally had two nights booked but left as soon as we could after our first night.
Amazing location, safe environment for solo lady travellers
Three decades of visits and counting. Elim is still a hidden treasure. It was once only known within church circles but now more broadly. Its quiet, people are considerate and the staff are tremendous. Good luck getting a booking in the school holidays though.
Location was beautiful just beside the lake, staff were very friendly and affordable price for good accommodation, very impressed and highly recommend!
Delightfully simple casual, in a gorgeous natural Godly environment...love it 💦👍
A favourite place of ours, we are regular visitors to Camp Elim. The location is stunning, the staff super friendly and helpful, the cost is great and there are no rowdy groups partying into the small hours.
Staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. At the rear of the camp you have the lake, across the road out the front you have Sevin Mile Beach and you also, for a group, have access to the climbing tower.
I wish i could give it a 0 rating !this is so shameful that we spent our money and waste our time by going there !First they didn’t let us know about the rules of the camp ! the stuff members were so disrespectful and racist !!!They had such good managers but the stuff were so rude that the managers wasn’t even able to stand in-front of them !!Also as it was included in the international law and the basic laws , no one should be treated differently by their race or identity or culture.I would recommend to people who would like to enjoy their time at camping and enjoy the breaks that they are getting from work and life is not to go to elim camp !!I believe people go to camping to take break from reality of life and enjoy their time with mother nature !They are supper religious and i think people should keep their opinions to themselves and not to disrespect others .its shocking how people can’t put their nose in their own job and life and not to judge the story by what they see with their eyes .👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
After an 8 years in bush and many camping areaThis is only a place I hade a bad experience because of to many checking stuff inside my tent and my car to find my drinksThe staff just looking everywhere to bothering people and makes headache for themNever ever go this place ever egain000000ziroooooo
I first time go camp elimThis area nice place and good access to lake and beachBut not good stuff talking to my familyI book 3 nights but after one night cancell because every time stuff come check around tent inside carI don’t know whyI don’t have good memories about this campThis is not good
Please, DO NOT pay attention at the 1 star reviews left recently. It has nothing to do with staff being rude, let alone prejudice against different races and cultures! Its shocking to see how they are not being honest with their reviews and not really telling what happened. They got in trouble for simply not wanting to follow clear rules set by the camp staff, which was being followed by everyone, except for them. Camp Elim is a free ALCOHOL AND SMOKE camp. Youre not allow to drink and smoke on the camping site and this is a condition youre made aware at the moment of booking, there are also signs everywhere in the camp reminding people about this. These people clearly didnt their job reading about the camp and were drinking and smoking from the moment they arrived as I was able to witness myself. Staff warned them about the rules and instead of simply following it they started being loud and abusive, disrespecting not only the staff but also the other guests who were following the rules with no issues. Guests are also asked to be quiet from 9:30pm until 8am, a very welcomed rule for all the families camping here with young kids who sleep early. It happens this is a perfect spot for families as the lake is extremely safe for little ones, with the no alcohol and smoke rules making it even more perfect for families just wanting to spend some good and relaxing family time. In all my interactions with staff, they were nice and courteous. So if youre wanting to party, drink and be loud, this is not the place for you and instead of abusing staff and refusing to follow the rules imposed to everyone, leave and go somewhere else. Id like to leave here my thank you to all the staff for creating such a wonderful place for families. I felt in love with it and will definitely be back!
One of the worse camp that i have ever been to ! The workers are so rude and the way that they treat you is so disrespectful and bad , they put diffences between the races and different culture.I recommend whoever is coming to this camp they are making big mistakes because the workers treat you like victims and they check your tents And tell you to be quiet as soon as you start to enjoy your day and night a little bit . What a waste of time and money!!!!!
oh god its horrible place rued staff and they check out every minutes even they look in side your tent.we never back here again
I wish I couldve given 0 stars...Ive had the worst camping exprience in my life... Very rude staff memberIf youre truly looking to have fun and enjoy the nature without distribution THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU
Beautiful and quiet place. We loved no TV, no smoking and no drinking policies. There is no aircon and your sheets may feel damp, otherwise it was all perfect.
Camp elims is great! Heaps of beaches and good camping area, for its boring but only because I have come here 11 years in a row, but other than that its great, I would recommend 😍
Our kids wake up at camp Elim and disappear for the entire day, only returning for meals. We have never holidayed anywhere that feels more safe or friendly. If you want your child to experience the freedom of the eighties, this is a perfect destination⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely awesome place to go camping! We have been a few times and always love it! The staff are always amazing! The lake is simply stunning! We will be back many more times.
Great place to stay, plenty of availability. Be aware of particular camp rules, no smoking and no alcohol.
Great place to stay! The staff is helpful, the toilets are cleaned, the lake is wuaw, we love it.The only thing that it wasnt great were the showers.
A beautiful place where wonderful family memories are made, the facilities are great, the location amazing and staff very helpful
Such a beautiful spot. Lake one side and beach the other, nestled in the rainforest. The lake is shallow so kids can play safely, basic but clean amenities, and very friendly staff. Only 15 mins to Forster.
We had such a great time and amazing place for small kids, the water is clear and warm and shallow enough for the kids too play endlessly safely. But don’t tell anyone.... it’s our little secret getaway spot!
Weve always loved Camp Elim because of the location- Lakeside with beach across the road. Now the amenities are updated, fresh and clean. One in twenty days there is no breeze. That was the day we canoed. Beautiful. The staff are all young but experienced and very helpful. Refreshing to have a smoke and alcohol free park.We highly recommend Camp Elim.
Great place with excellent facilitys for camping. Lake one side beach over the road, cant beat the location.
Great spot to chill out at! Beautiful lake, views and sunsets! I would definitely recommend if you happen to be driving past!
What a hidden gem.perfect.its not only for church Gowers, just been there and nearly had the place to ourselves.hot showers clean amenities.oceanone side 200mtrs,lakes at your feet.off season 2 adults p/w $28.or night.
Great location, wonderful staff. We even got free wood to do a fire in our barbecue to cook some corn! Definitely a great chance to enjoy Foster!
A Fantastic place to camp .Met really good people.Amongst them member of family who started this fantastic camp.Good clean utilities.!!!Great safe lake for kids and adults.!!!Kayaking a must at 8 dollars per hour.!!!Fantastic staff.!!!Top camping areas.!!!DefinitelyGODS CAMP!!!Even saw godly vision over the lake!!!No kidding!!!Just exercise caution when using beach across the road not for the novice swimmer.!!!
Great campsite! There is everything that you need at the campsite: clean toilets, showers, a place to eat, a playground. There is a beautiful lake with shallow water, good for kids.
Rustic. Durg and alcohol free camping with cabins. Its between the ocean and the lake .the beach is unpatroled and ruff but good fishing. The lake is clean salt water, shallow, sandy and great for kids .good fishing and sailing for small boats.we have been going here for over 30 years for family holidays.
Great service from staff members and they are very accommodating. Facilities are in good condition, though not all of them have air con. Showers need a bit TLC but are OK.They have food preparation area and laundry area. Great for families with young kids.ots of things to do.Easy access to lake.Lots of parking and camping ground.Could be 5 stars if kiosk had more food options and faster service.
Amazing place to stay. Very friendly staff with lake one side and beach other side. Short drive into town.
Place is Nice. Has toilets, showering facilities. Nearby lake.Cabins, powered campsites. Activities if you arrange groups with the facilities.Great to bring young kids.Speak to Alfie, his a legend. Also beware of local Goannas
Amazing camping location, best of both worlds, peaceful and quiet. Always look forward in returning each year for our annual holiday.Recommend to any family for a great holiday. Excellent staff who always go out of their way to accommodate any needs. Cant wait to return soon.
Camp Elim is under new management (as of Mid 2015and there seems to be lots of little improvements to the facilities. I particularly appreciate the food served in the dining hall when I was there in July 2016.Its a great site a week away with a large group of friends. Lake on one side, beach on the other, lots of space. Awesome.
We stayed over Christmas and new years. Location is beautifully presented next tp the smith lake and walking distance from the beach. We hire canoe (good price). Sand deposit and shallow water allowed us talk few hundred meter inside the lake without any canoe. Common amenities can be improved. There’s nothing worse than camping where there’s a mossie & sand flies infested! its not easy to stay outside after sunset. They should do something to control the mossie & sand flies. Bites start itching and stay for few weeks.
