Cambodia War Remnant Museum in Sisophon

I went there today (Feb 20, 2022), the place appeared to be abandoned. I wandered around, if there was an entrance fee, it wouldn’t be worth it.

I liked this museum it’s close to town and the vets that run it are interest to listen to..if your tight with money and think $6 is to much then maybe you should go travelling else where

Somewhat interesting, but not really worth the $5 entrance fee or the detour to visit.

Unfortunately, a lot of very rusty weapons poorly displayed. The explanatory texts were often sun-damaged. But quite good if you could read them.

Waste of time.$5 pp but given one ticket for two people so I think some money is kept by ticket person. Shame, as percentage of money supposed to be for injured soldiers.Not well kept. Photos faded. Little information. Lots of old ammunition, guns, missiles, launchers.....Location away from main city.

Its ohk ohk as per my view ,far from city , feeling like neglected by govt as no proper facility avilable with high amount of entry ticket ..as compare to the brave soldiers...thry fought for the country but no proper ..care of the old arms..who have given their life to the Nation.Things are good ...but only feel bad when brave soldeirs memories neglected .

5usd. All you see is and very unkeeped garden. Faded picture were you can hardly see what its showing. Guns and ammunition rusted to dust... In my opinion not worth a visit if it were for free

Using old metal junk to collect money. Dont waste time

This is a private museum which is all open air. At the end of a dusty road near outskirts of town. There are some pieces of equipment around. Didnt see anything we havent seen before or learn anything newSome exhibits might have been missing. Old dirty photos of the war.This is defintely a pass dont waste your time here. Go to visit APOPO for a land mine detection demonstration by rat instead for same price ($5)

W Muzeum Wojny możemy oglądać sprzęt wojskowy dosłownie wyrwany z Kambodżańskiej dżungli. Są to pozostałości po czerwonych Khmerach. Ekspozycja może szokować, sterty zardzewiałych niewybuchów leżące na ziemi. Pewnie wszystkie rozbrojone, choć nie byłbym tego pewny.

You will feel how much corrupted the administration and ticketing guys are.Not worth seeing it the plane open ground

It was worth the $5 but its quite low-budget and I wouldnt go too far out of my way or dedicate much of my day to it. We were in and out in about 30-45 minutes.

Somewhat dissatisfied. The museum was quite unkept and some of the photos were so faded you could hardly see them or read what was underneath - dissapointing if youre trying to learn about the history. Some interesting items but overall id say only worth a 30 minute visit. Admission is 5 USD.

It is unforgettable historical about civil war in Cambodia and it was so complicated war ever. It is a good place in town if you have time to visit this place. It takes about 10 minutes drive by car or TukTuk.Highly recommended place and war museum. Visit it if you are in Siem Reap.

Lots of landmines?

Important to never forget however this museum is a tad neglected

It’s worth the visit but I want to see more pictures about that. Some of the pictures have damaged, the indoors are very dirty. The museum must be checked I think.

Incredible experience. We came to the museum and were surprised to see it was quite small with lots of landmine and military equipment displays.At the end, we were approached by a man who informed us he was an ex child soldier in the Khmer Rouge until he stepped on a landmine in 1991. He sat us down and spoke to us in great detail about his experiences and the societal issues in Cambodia today. He answered all of our questions and was very grateful for the opportunity.An unforgettable and humbling experience. Definitely go to meet this man and see the work he does.

Everyone visiting Cambodia should visit this outdoor museum. Hearing stories from former child soldiers and landmine survivors was an emotional experience. It is built on the site of an old military installation and there are rooms with different landmines and weapons recovered from the local area. There is also a mass grave on the site.The museum gives most of the money to local children to help them learn English and there is a classroom in the museum.

Run by former Red Khmer - not big but worth visiting. Kiling field on property.

I cannot say its very good for tourists, since theres lack of story telling, and you need a tour guide to tell you the history. But it provides help to the victims in war and children, so you may visit here for charity purposes.Anyway, if you are in the city, its worth to visit. Every War museum in the world trys to restructure and decorate the image of the government, but this museum shows theres only pains in fire combat. No glory, no victory. Try to get close to weapons in this wild area, and pray for world peace.

Learn about the history of Cambodia, what happened before that cause what it is Cambodia today. Worth a visit if you are into history. Remember to wait for the tour guide to start.

Man bekommt hier eine tolle, sehr authentische Tour durch den Krieg geboten, erzählt von einem Veteranen. Sehr interessant gestaltet und auf jeden Fall einen Abstecher wert, wenn man in Siem Reap ist.Das Museum unterstützt außerdem bedürftige Kinder in der Umgebung mit Essen und zusätzlichem Unterricht.

Its difficult to describe this place as the significance of it is understood and felt through the stories and experiences of the guides, who are landmine survivors. Its a really worthwhile visit to gain an insight and perspective into what happened during the genocide from the perspective of the local people. It aims to support those people who are at-risk within the community, for example, landmine survivors who cannot find work. Just on the side in the field is the kitchen of hope、, set up to provide lunch to the children living in the nearby village. speak to the people who run this kitchen and again you will understand the remarkable work that is being done here to build stronger communities.

I went here because of the good reviews. But in my opinion its overrated. Its just a couple of guns in a rice field with no story.The guide who lost a leg when he was fighting on Paul Pots side, was really proud about the machine guns. And eager to demonstrate how they work. But I didnt had the feeling he regrets the killing in that period. In the end me and girlfriend paid 12 dollar + 3 dollar tip. For less then an hour... Phnom Penh has better museums for a quarter of the price.

Loved it! For only 6 dollars you can learn about Cambodias Civil War. The guides are veteran soldiers/landmine victims who can tell you in first person about their experience. And whats even better: the money from your ticket goes to helping the community: a kitchen to feed children, school help and helping victims of landmine accidents.

Worth checking out. $6 US, but it goes towards food and education for the children from the nearby village and landmine victims. The school and kitchen are actually at the corner of the property and you can see them. The lot its on was actually cleared of land mines and some of the items were found on the lot, as it was an area of conflict itself. Thom is a great tour guide and land mine victim himself. Cool collection of weapons from hand guns to AA guns. Was as hands on as you wanted it to be when I was there. Very knowledgeable about the history and politics, and willing to answer any questions. Tour takes about an hour.

It’s actually meeting former war veterans who are the guides that make this Museum very interesting and learning more about Cambodia’s more recent history and also their social commitment to helping landmine victims. You can also visit local cambodian house holds living around the museum and experience country living,so there’s a fair bit to do. Its ’s also conveniently located behind the AngkorTicket booth so a great stop on the way to the temples. Well worth the visit.
