Simple sandwich shop dishing counter-service Vietnamese banh mi & coffee in a utilitarian space.
The service was great - friendly and welcoming. The food was enjoyable and great value. Would stop by anytime Im in the area.
Cheap. Bready but plenty of content. Wide variety of canned drinks if you dare to depart from Coke or Pepsi. Takeout only. Almost no shade for parking
Update: Sadly, the service has become unpalatable. I dont mind somewhat rude service, but my last couple experiences were quite unpleasant. Being snapped at repeatedly for no reason is just not welcoming.Amazingly fresh and delicious bánh mi, spring rolls, Vietnamese desserts & drinks. Ive been coming to this place for years and its consistently fresh and yummy.
Sandwiches are cheap and fire. Quick too, and can call in.
Wow delicious and such good value!! I got the 4A grilled pork Banh Mi and panadan soy milk, both were amazing.
Great food, reasonable price owner operated by a really nice family.
Tasty, cheap, and quick. What more could you want? This is my go-to place for banh mi, and I would recommend the 4A Grilled Pork!
Good Sandwich but food are pricey.Customer before you head out countYour change and food that you bought.3x The cashier lady shortened my change & food so beware. 3 strike means out not heading back to this place. To business owner be honest to your customer "what goes up must come down"
Tried this place from the catering services. They are really considerate by noticing my special requests of not putting any cilantro. Catering usually takes lots of efforts, so I really appreciate their consideration. Plus, the sandwich, the spring rolls, and the mango desert are all great!
I love Bahn mi and all kinds of Vietnamese treats but this place is by far the most enjoyable experience weve ever had. It is just a small business with limited number of items (compared to other places weve been before). But they carefully worked on the taste of every single item they are selling. The host was very nice and attentive and helped us find things we like more. The Bahn mis were super delicious and juicy. We tried bbq pork and bbq chiken and they were amazing. The honeycomb cake is my favorite and it could not be any better. All in all, it was an absolutely amazing experience and we will be back there aoon :)
Place is amazing, family owned, customize anything you want. Will be back for lots more 😎
Ive been going to this place for awhile. Their Vietnamese sandwiches are super reasonably priced and you get a hefty amount of veggies/meat. Perfect everytime with no issues. Owner is nice. I would go here everyday if I could but we limit it to once a week. Everything here is good.
Excellent fried tofu bánh mì and very affordable.
Mann oh mann they got a good thing goin here. Soft crunchy bread. Derishus meats and the iced coffee ☕️ 😋 . Hands down best damn banh mi sammy EVER. Lees sandwiches better take notes, this place is setting the bar HIGH in quality 👌
I hadnt been to Cam Hung in what seems like decades. Somehow I thought it had closed. In the day it was never very busy, One woman working there with a baby behind the counter. When I went this weekend it was packed. Line moved very quickly and it was as good as I remembered. Bread much better than Lees.
Cam Hung is a hidden gem in Sunnyvale! Every time I go, I always have an amazing experience and service -- everyone is so nice and such sweethearts. I typically order the BBQ Pork sandwich, spring rolls, chicken leg, Vietnamese dessert (Chè), and Rice cake and pork roll. SO DELICIOUS and such reasonable prices. There is nowhere else in Sunnyvale that can beat the quality, taste, and price. I highly recommend Cam Hung!
This is a tiny mom & pop operation that is great for grab-and-go lunch/dinner. And I do mean go as its not the sort of place that has seating. They make an impressive array of desserts, canned/bottled drinks, and snacks for such a small place. You can grab papaya salad, already stripped hunks of jackfruit in a to go box, chả giò, bánh cuốn, gỏi cuốn, slices of pandan cake, freshly fried shrimp chips, and Ive even seen spam musubi in the mix.Thats before you even consider if youd like banh mì, or perhaps youd rather have bún thịt nướng. You can order freshly made cà phê sữa đá or various smoothies to go with it. Im sorry to report they dont offer nước mía, though. Also hit up this place if you need bags of ice!
During the early 00s Cam Hung was our local go to for Banh Mi, hasnt been quite the same since the change of ownership. My wife still prefers their Bun Cuon, so we would seldomly stop in.
I do recommend this place (no dine ingenerally has been a positive experience ordering and the many food or beverage choices offered such as sandwiches, egg rolls, and many varied choices.Unfortunately a cross fit (gymopened up (as of March 2022leading to issues with parking and getting in or out here.I wish they (businesses/complexhad a few parking spaces dedicated to each in the parking lot. I hope the parking situation can be improved especially if it effects
Super delicious for a great price!! I recommend getting double meat on the sandwich to get a good ratio. If youre not familiar with Vietnamese sandwiches, make sure youre prepared. I saw a one star review complaining about how its very little meat but "too many" veggies/pickled veggies. This is expected. They do the meat, bread, cohesive flavor and balance really well. Neither me nor my bf expected to finish the giant sandwich but it was so good we had toHe got the ham, double meat, with pate. I got the sweet pork, double meat, with pate. Both really delicious but i think we both like the ham. Im not an American ham type person but i thought this was really good. I suppose its more similar to spam but better and much less processed.
Discovered this small, easy to miss place, by accident. But what a great discovery! Great tasting sandwiches. Very reasonably priced. Great staff as well. Would definitely go again.
Im no expert in banh mi, but the sandwich was pretty good! The bread was soft, meat juicy, and veggies had a refreshing flavor and good crunch. The staff were very friendly too. This is a nice place for a quick and cheap lunch. You can also pick up some fun Asian snacks while you are here.
Best banh mi in south bay.My family eats here every time and also gets some snacks or other dishes to (the rice stick aka vermicelli type dish is great). We get the ham with extra meat and it comes with pâté which is so delicious. There sandwiches are great. You can order/call ahead since sometimes theres a long line. There is a small parking lot here too but sometimes its pretty full. They accept cash and card. Enjoy!
4a pork delicious. Bread perfectly crisp exterior with tasty fresh fixins inside. Thought this boba was quite tasty as well.
Not very cheap yet they cheap out on the ingredients for their banh mi. Little meat, way too much sour vegetable filler. They dont even have a special combination number one like most banh mi places have. 1/5 stars would not recommend, theres so many better places out there.
These are the best Banh Mis around, good variety and flavors. The BBQ chicken thighs are so tender! And the shop staff are very friendly. We go there on average once a week.
Dear Owner:Please help me understand since when is it allowed and acceptable to mix JALAPEÑOS in your vegetarian rolls!!? I have never experienced any unknown spicy ingredients in the Vietnamese vegetarian cuisine before. I am still trying to recover from my swollen lips and numbing tongue as I am severely allergic to spicy ingredients!! Please think twice about ASKING IF THE CUSTOMER WANTS CERTAIN INGREDIENTS. You put my health at great risk. 🤦🤦
Great for quick lunch for takeaway. We ordered pork omelet and beef banh Minh. Was really good. Big portion. They also have Thai iced tea and the strong Vietnamese coffee. The rice paper rolls look fresh and yummy.
Came in on a weekday mid-afternoon on a 1st visit because of the 4.6 rating. The woman at the counter had zero customer service. She looked and acted as if I was disturbing her. The ambience of the store is zero. It looked to me as unclean. Food stacked on top of each other and crowded into a small space. I wont be coming back and food was not that special compared to other places Ive gone to. Dont know what the hype is about this place.
Amazing mom and pop shop for a quick vietnamese banh mi. Sandwich was as authentic as it gets, and service was fast.
Solid sandwiches, if you like a lot of Vietnamese pickles in your banh mi, youll like it here. I personally dont as much, but its definitely a matter of taste.Theyve got the regular lineup as well as some vermicelli bowls, Vietnamese canned drinks, and egg rolls.
Love a quick inexpensive yet very good vietnamese sandwiches. And they also have many other small lunches available. They also open at 8am. If you like silken tofu and other vietnamese desserts they do have it and vietnamese coffee of course.
Absolutely legendary bahn mi store, their sandwiches are always cheap, delicious, and come out quickly. The bread they bake has just the right amount of crunch- it doesnt scratch up your mouth and yet it crackles and crisps as you bite through. You have to try these bahn mis.
lemme just say if ur looking for a quick bite for ur lunch that’s quality enough for u to be full, get these banh mi’s!!! so delicious for an affordable price! crispy but soft on the outside baguette, fresh veggies n meat. they had other snacks as well, i bought red bean custard hopia! will be coming back!i got the grilled pork banh mi (pronounced BON ME for all my non-asian folks)
Sister restaurant Joy-Wok in Sunnyvale serves pho and Chinese food. Here, a very small, spiffy deli-style eatery ideal for To-Go foods with many sandwiches on fresh, crunchy french baguette. Jelly, bean, coconut and slithery smooth tofu drinks, egg rolls, all kinds of authentic Vietnamese pre- packed foods that is unavailable in most Vietnamese restaurants. Its almost like a do-it-yourself tasting menu, but without the price tag. Cash only if under $5.00. Go ahead, be brave and try out some new dishes.
OMFG, these bahn mi’s are banging! Super fast, super friendly , delicious, and definitely doesn’t break the bank. What else can you ask for. We were worried that they would be closed on a Sunday afternoon (during Covid-19), but the bahn mi gods blessed us with good fortune!
Great local place. You can place an order in advance for pick up. The grilled pork sandwich is my go-to. We usually get an order of the spring rolls as well.
12A - 12D are vegetarian bahn mi sandwiches! Vegans, decline mayo (they ask when you orderand youre good. Tried 12A fried tofu, 12C Mixed Veggies, 12D vegetarian (has mock meat), and tofu spring rolls (3 rolls in each order— all delicious. Tip from another reviewer: decline mayo and add your own at home if youre vegan. Place is small and can seem crowded, but the line moves quickly and food is ready in a few minutes. They now accept credit cards.
Trying Bánh mì for first time and we had it at the best place for it. Crispy baguette with right flavors in it. Ask for extra jalepenos and sriracha if you are a spicy person. Had grilled chicken and fried tofu versions and both were too good.
This is a great, authentic place for a quick meal grab and go.Its a small little shop that sells mostly banh mis but also other Vietnamese food and a variety of prepackaged snacks/desserts.We got 2 banh mis, the 4a grilled pork sandwich ($6.50and the 4c BBQ pork sandwich ($6.75). The sandwiches were ready in ~5 minutes and the BBQ pork sandwich had a good amount of meat but the grilled pork sandwich could use a bit more (maybe ask for double meat!). The bread also tasted fresh and crispy!
Simply incredible. Cam Hung has a small grocery section with snacks and drinks along side banh mi sandwiches and other hot meals. The food is excellent and service is friendly. I recommend the taro dessert if they have it. My favorite sandwich is 4B: sweet pork.
I came to buy plain baguettes to make my own Vietnamese sandwiches. I appreciate that they let me buy them at $0.75 each. I could buy five baguettes for $2.49 at an Asian supermarket in San Francisco near Pacifica where I live, but this is convenient.. I dont think they wore gloves though when packing my baguettes, which is typical of mom and pop places like this. They also sell pickled shredded carrots and daikon. Ill find out whether its too sweet for my taste like most places. I bought their pickled mustard leaves discounted also.
A fantastic sandwich shop. Definitely try the iced coffee; its delicious! It is an easy to miss, hole in the wall restaurant, but a must. Great prices all around and lots of fun snacks to try and explore.
Love their sandwiches and Vietnamese coffee. Try the 1+6 (both meat offerings in one delicious sandwich). The sizes can be slightly inconsistent sometimes but always tastes great. They wear masks and have lines taped on the ground for Covid.
Taste BBQ pork banh mi. The lady almost overcharged me $6 but later corrected her.I hope it was accidental.
Best Bahn Mi in south bay, only for around $6~$7.Spring rolls are amazing as well and the service is nice.Definitely visit once you are in the area. You can never be here only once. You will com back for sure.
I love the grilled pork sandwich. I sometimes add an additional egg if Im feeling super hungry. Good food, good process, good speed.the food was fresh with lots of green vegetables service was fast. sandwiches were delicious. the pork dish was very good
Cam sung has great everything from sandwiches to spring rolls to any snacks you want. Its kitchen is very fast, and extra meat is only a dollar! There are a few tables inside that you can move around to accommodate your family and friends and it always feels homey and welcoming here.
Banh Mi was the origins of this place and it has transformed into an all-in-one market. Sandwiches price has gone up to Silicon Valley rate unfortunately. It is still good and you can still get desserts , rolls, rice plates, and egg rolls. Thai is also a major offering. Please institutionalize this place... it so good. Veggie rolls are tight with white dry noodles ( vermicelliwith lettuce and an assortment of veggies-carrots, celandine, tofu. Served with dipping sauce -fish sauce and chili paste. Sandwiches are warmed and filled with cilantro, cucumber slices, pickled carrots and daikons, shredded beef is warm with a soft texture.
Great Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches at a great price. I love both the pork hash and BBQ pork sandwiches, and theyre very reasonably priced - around $3.50. They have a good selection of canned and bottled juices and sodas, both American and Asian. The only downside is the physical space. Its cramped and theres not much seating. Its no problem at off hours, but at peak times you may not find a seat.
