Hidden place to forcibly see and enjoy as must when around cape point in Gambia, crocodiles 🐊 could be seen from your spot in the place , monkeys all over the place gives it another charm...

What a wonderful place to enjoy the beach, eat delicious food served by fantastic staff always smiling and happy to help ..... MY 1 STAR IS FOR THE SILLY AND INCONVENIENT RULE OF HAVING TO LEAVE THE SUN LOUNGERS BY 5 PM !!?? THIS IS GOVERNED BY MANAGEMENT WHO WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO SPEAK TO AND THE STAFF WOULD BE IN TROUBLE IF WE WERE ALLOWED TO STAY ???? HAVING JUST FINISHED A HUGE MEAL AND DRINKS WE WERE TOLD WE HAD 5 MINUTES TO LEAVE THE BEACH BEDS AS MATTRESSES NEEDED TO BE PUT AWAY ?? THE SUN IS STILL SHINING AND HAD HOPED TO ENJOY A COFFEE AND LIQUEUR BEFORE GOING HOME !? BAD 👎 MANAGMENT IDEA ...PLEASE REVIEW THIS TREATMENT AND I WILL EDIT MY POST !?

This place has got worse for its food. I decided to have spaghetti bolognese. It was not proper spaghetti, it was those wiggly Chinese noodles found in Gambian shops 15 - 20 Dalasi a pack. The meat / sauce had the taste of cheep tomatoe ketchup!

I love the ambience, the surrounding are wonderful, peaceful and well done , herons round the pool though I missed the Kingfishers this time so will be back. Good service.

Calypso is a very quiet beach, and I always go there to hangout

Great quiet place to stay for a lunch, have a swim, and observe monkeys, crocodiles and monitor lizards.

Had a lovely lunch at this nice and quite place near the sea. If you are lucky you will see the crocodiles in the pond and the monkeys in the trees.

Nice , clean , friendly and good food .

Personally didnt really like their food. No accommodation was made for that I just wasted my money. However hospitality staff was great environment unusual interesting. Surrounded by nature monkeys crocodiles birds etc beautiful trees and plants. Would recommend but be very careful about what you order especially if you have an American pallet some of the meats do not taste the same. Overall the place was clean beautifully situated near the ocean prices are a little high for Gambia however you may find it to your liking.

Good food, great service. Lovely place to relax and watch crocodiles and other wildlife. We saw two crocodiles, a Monitor Lizard passed us and a whole family of monkeys! Nice tree house area and gardens etc.

The environment is really nice and unique, as you sit among nature and next to a pond full of wildlife. The food has been really good each time weve eaten here.

Nice atmosphere and good live music. Love the way the property was built around the trees and integrates them in the design. Good drinks too

Good customer service and a nice quiet place to chill out. The fruit sellers nearby are funny as heck to watch and the hotels nearby are not intrusive. Could do with being a little less expensive for food but nice for a weekly treat if you want one.

What an amazing place, little touches like mosquito burners and cloth place mats, we went for our last night of holiday evening meal and it was fab, staff very smart and attentive, definitely try the king prawns or calypso streak, see you next January.

Lovely place very relaxing. The food was a bit of a let down. Ordered a panini and got a dry overpriced toastie sandwich.

Well worth a visit food very good service excellent and monkeys come down to see you so bring bananas to feed them

Over-rated. Over-priced. Variable service. But on the plus side, we saw lots of beautiful birds while eating our meals: pied kingfishers, kites, ibis, heron, huge terns etc. Nice spot, but I feel sorry for those poor wee crocodiles stuck in that artificial pond. I assume they just kill them when they get too big.

Relaxt place, nice for chilling, beer for a decent price. Food is a bit over priced compared to other restaurants. But nice atmosphere. There are a few small crocodiles and a few monkeys. Furthermore you can chill either in the sun or in the shade

A little oasis of paradise in what is basically a very run down area. Excellent food and service. Real attention to detail.

This is one of the best choices in The Gambia. The food is very high quality with quality ingredients. The staff are friendly and attentive and the setting is really spectacular. There is a beautiful tree house to enjoy a drink or scenic gazebo tables for a private meal. The monkeys and crocodile pool provide additional enjoyment and add to the authentic feel. Highly recommend.

Hidden treasure along the beach. 4pm feeding the alligators and watching the birds and maybe a monkey or two. Relaxing with a drink.

Lovely food just a shame the service is slow waited an 1.5 hours for our lunches not if you have children.Beautiful wildlife around

Burgers / grilled Caesar salad delicious. Bit pricier than some other places. Beautiful location, crocs fed at 4, or 5 on Sundays after the music. Great if youre staying at Ocean Bay Hotel. Long wait for food and make sure you are getting the right change.

Perfect place for coffee and lunch combined with the opportunity to watch crodiles and all kind of birds.

Stunning views , Ate here 3 times. Lots of choices on menu. Pricing is good. We will be back. beautiful place.

A delightful restaurant on the mouth of the River Gambia.The menu is very extensive and so small and large parties are guaranteed a wonderful time looking out to the Atlantic Ocean whilst enjoying delectable meal.Right in front of the restaurant is natural lagoon with fish, Herons, number of other birds and yes real live crocodilesThat is far better than watching an aquarium even though I love aquariums

The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and efficient. The food is excellent as is the beer and wine. A wonderful place to chill out and be amazed by the numerous beautiful birds and wildlife right by your table. One of the best restaurants /bars in The Gambia.Just returned from another 2 week trip to Gambia, visited the Calypso every evening and dined there 9 times. Although very quiet (it,s off seasonthe same very high standards are being maintained and the food was wonderful. Definitely worth a 5 star rating

Really cozy place. There is a treehouse where you can go and there is a small lake where there is about 10 crocodiles and there is a good view for them too.

Lunch in a very interesting setting, overlooking a waterhole teeming with crocodiles (and some interesting birds too).Very friendly and attentive service.The Calypso Burger was great!

Fab food, great beach, wild crocs they feed at 4pm. Lots of birds, monkeys too. Pretty restaurant. Loved it here. You will not be disappointed.

Good location, delicious food and best fresh juice in the town

It is out of the way, but the immediate location is great. It is not a cheap place to eat at. But they key virtue is the brackish pool where at least a dozen crocodiles bask. The staff feed the crocs at 4. There are a good variety of birds to see there too. The staff are not intrusive. You can see the sea too and its right by the beach.

Nice but expensive compared to others. You pay for the ambience. But nice.

Always good service. Most helpful staff. Fatastic for relaxing and watching birdlife right by your table.
