The sign said be back in 15 minutes.....we waited 30. Nobody came. Im upset.

Food was okay nothing special about it !service suck lady was rude an didnt want to do her job dirty tables all around we got a Togo order an never told us anything when she wasnt doing anything she wasnt friendly

Pitiful and pathetic! I will NEVER return to this place. The service was horrible. Thr taco I ordered sat for 10 minutes in a counter before the cooks or cashier recognized. The Hispanic cooks didnt help at all.

Loaded tots with brisket:. Tots, brisket, a little bit of shredded Cheddar. Disappointed by what was considered loaded. Also ordered sopapillas, pretty sure I got cinnamon sticks and they were so dry they were completely inedible.

The place is amazing and has a relaxing atmosphere to it. However $9 for a taco with no sides….. make it make sense.

Tried to order food and was told that I had to be there by 730, told them I could and was told they were locking the doors…very nice

Place has gone down hill over last couple years ... tacos were over fried, meat was spicy, just not the same it was a couple years ago.

Great little joint. Original Cali taco was good, stuffed full of beef. Bean dip was unique and tasty. House margarita on tap way better than the typical, it actually has alcohol in there 🙂

Did not disappoint. Great prices, great food, great service, great margaritas. We had a toddler with us, no options that we knew of for a high chair or booster seat. But luckily our son behaved and loved his food like we did! The brisket was tender and outstanding. Definitely will recommend to friends who visit the area.

Tried a few things, the enchilada was so plain, it reminded me of the white people taco night song.. so went everything else we tried. Including the fried taco. The steak in the taco was not seasoned. It was made in a room that had spices but none especially the salt touched the meat. Place was mostly clean. Perhaps I’m unfair being I had high hopes coming into this place, but I was underwhelmed.

I remember coming here and the food was awesome and atmosphere was fun. Its dirty and the steak tacos were nasty under cooked the rice was hard and flavorless the rice with cheese use to be my favorite. 😢

Definitely worth a stop.Great dive tucked in close to all the downtown buzz. Get the famous taco. We went old school and stayed with the ground beef. The host was amazing and brought us all sample of their pulled pork and brisket (newer on the options list for tacos.Most definitely try the brisket taco . That was amazing. So moist and great flavor! Thats some fall of your fork goodness right there.Salsa is fire. Homemade heaven that kissed with heat. I personally preferred the salsa Verde over the red. Red is safe for you who like to keep the spice tamed.Great group of guys working it here.

Well first time coming to this restaurant.. not to impressed ordered when we arrived the wait was kind of long but to be expected during lunch payed $35 for 2 side a pulled pork sandwich Nd hald a rack.. drove right up the street to eat our food was barly warm. The flavor wasnt bad but deff would say come here for BBQ.. the baked bean we didnt try they were the only hot item but had a wiered smell and an unappetizing textur to them... I will probley go again to try the taco menu since its close by but never for bbq... will update after I return for there bbq menu.

Went to California Tacos after watching the movie Everywhere Everytime family brought some good food we always get full when eating here.

Found this on triple D and was hoping to go down to flavor town. Boy was I disappointed! It all started with the salsa: unbelievably bland and not hot at all. Cali tots were basic tater tots, not sure why the special name. Beans have zero flavor. We havent even gotten to the world famous Cali tacos yet. Well, one try was enough. Youll do better with a chalupa at taco bell (which is what it looks like). The fish was totally devoid of flavor and the shrimp was ok. These folks are nice, but the food is not worth the trip.

This place certainly caters to the local college crowd. Seems more focused on being able to turn out food that goes along with the drink than on quality food. The deep fried taco is their thing, which is ok. If youre in the mood for Mexican food there are better alternatives

First time trying this place. Staff was friendly, the wait time for food was about 15 minutes. Food was great! Had the shrimp taco and jalapeno poppers. Really tasty! Will definitely be back.

I love the food however it’s pretty pricey. I paid $15 for one taco, tater tots and a small drink. And if you want anything extra it cost. My friend got a taco salad and ended up spending like $5 to get some extras. A small side of ranch is $1. Like that should be free, especially with how much I paid for my meal.

Months of hankering for Cali Taco finally came to an end last night. Washed 2 tacos down with a pitcher of margaritas. Along with the bonus pleasure of complimentary brisket sliders!! BBQ coming to Cali Taco?! Cant wait til next visit!

The chicken nachos and house margaritas were SO GOOD! I ordered the small portion of nachos and still had half leftover! Will definitely return again!

Food was garbage. The staff didnt know how the food was made. Way over priced for the extremely small portion. Just an overall really bad experience. Dont waste your money or time there.

Ive been coming here for years so Im disappointed to have to write such a bad review. Ordered fish taco salad. Someone thought it was a good idea to chop up my fillet of fish like ground beef the display was horrible. Called and went back no apology. Last time visiting. Horrible customer service.

Amazing food. If you are after authentic Mexican this night not be the place but fried tacos and flour tortilla nachos are amazing! The service was great. The portions were huge. I can’t wait to get it one more time before I leave town this week!

You have to order the Cali Taco (add guacand a Fanta in a glass bottle. The well stocked condiments bar of fresh toppings is a little scaled back because of the pandemic, but it still has as much salsa as you want!

This place is amazing, Covid got the fresh toppings and the squeeze tubes, but can’t take the goodness. Still 5 stars even though the green salsa used to be better, and my wife can’t take 4 lemons worth of wedges from the topping table. If you haven’t been here you’re missing out on a true Omaha original. Take someone with you, they’ll thank you for it.It’s called California Taco, not California Enchilada, not California Burrito… Order accordingly. Get what you want, but don’t leave without at least one thing they named the place for.

Was not real impressed the food was dry and it was expensive $60 for 3 people

This is a decent place to go when you need to eat but arent very picky about the food. All the meat options are very bland. Ive never had a taco taste better after adding ketchup but here we are. The menu has been trimmed down and the only thing I absolutely loved has been removed. They used to have the best fish tacos in town but now they only offer them on those large fluffy shells and give you a hard time if you try to order them on a regular soft shell. Ill gladly pay the same price to not have a nasty shell.

Tasty fry bread tacos. Not sure if its because of covid, but the sour cream comes in pouches and sometimes those pouches are found under the taco. 🤦

Food was excellent! Service was TERRIBLE. “Lydia”, working the register gave me an awful attitude and the WRONG order. Once we received the food incorrectly I approached her politely and she told me I was wrong and it was my fault I didn’t “correct” her once she re-read my order. She NEVER re read my order because if she DID myself or my boyfriend would have corrected her. She sighed and said “well what do you want me to do about it” and rolled her eyes. How about you refund my incorrect order Lydia because I am more than happy to pay for the food we ASKED FOR. Food was pretty good but we were super disappointed in her customer service. Will not be back.Very dissatisfied.& in response to your response, what you’re trying do to is called extortion for a Yelp review.I disputed this with my bank, have a great day Lydia.

I want to give them a higher rating, but $8 for a taco that has meat with very little flavor is disappointing and overpriced. The green salsa was tasty, though. Oh, and they charge for fountain water! Ha! Overrated. Sorry.

We ordered the Chicken Cali Tacos, Vegetarian Nachos, and the Chicken Quesadilla. Food was delicious, price was right, and food was served fast and hot.Highly recommend to anyone that is looking for great tasting tacos and needing to feed a family. Beware the Pico de Gallo and Guacamole can be a little spicy.

First time visiting and it was outstanding! Staff was friendly and the food came out quickly, which was great because I was on a short lunch break. Prices were reasonable and the food tasted fantastic!

Not gonna lie, the classic California Beef Taco is one of the better things that I have had in Omaha. I cant wait to go back and try something else. The prices are reasonable and the staff was great. Definitely like the feeling of the place, there is a lot of old meets new. Also a solid place for people watching.

Cool environment, great staff, food was great, even if the shell on the California taco was doughy, (however we understand it was certainly an isolated incident).

Generous portions, not healthy food by any means but taste great.Their signature California tacos are big, deep fried flour tortillas.Nachos were really good, wish they had guacamole and sour cream with them.Condiment bar is nice.

Stopped through on the road trip... definitely worth the stop!The line moved pretty smooth and the food!!!!!! Friendly staff and food was delicious. Preferred the steak or chicken taco to the ground beef. My only suggestion would be to add a "spicy sauce" option as both the green and red they have are rather flavorless. Will definitely be back!

This is a good cheap eats spot. Their taco shells are fried and taste fantastic. The toppings bar is stocked with all the goods. Its a good place to go after hanging out at the zoo.

Excellent steak and chicken tacos. Great homemade salsa, hot and mild. Great friendly staff. Fast fresh food.

Always a great experience and delicious tacos and tots. I recommend the tots with a side of nacho cheese. And maybe pour a little nacho cheese on your taco too.
