Its not open for public ,one who need to visit they must get permission from HOD of botany. Its maintained well .

This was a very well maintained butterfly garden. So beautiful and peaceful. But have some restrictions on entry i guess.

Very very nice ground...............Ground is one of the best ground ...Ground is very expensive for running🏃🏃🏃🏃, spirit, football, 🏐🏐🏐🏐 volleyball and other games....

Students who studies in the Calicut university campus must visit the botanical garden..such a calm place , variety of plant species can be seen here.

Botanical garden is one of the key place in university. Different kind of plants here.public not allowed to enter the garden. Even university students need permission to enter the garden. Well maintained place

Calm and Beautiful place . Very helpful garden staff .Actually this 16 acre botanical garden is for collecting specimens for study purpose . Vide variety of plants are being planted and taken care of .One can get permission to visit this beautiful place upon getting permission from the HoD ( Dr V V Radhakrishan sir or from Dr Santhosh Nampy sir ( Garden in Charge ).Normally permission is restricted to students with request letter from their parent institutions and with a fee ( just 10Rs.No food intake allowed inside the Garden . Plastic restricted .

One of the largest botanical gardens in the state. It is inside the main campus. Established in 1971, the garden has around 20 ha of land area. It has a green house, ginger zone, Victoria pond, northern gate, bamboosetum and rockery. Has wide variety of bamboos, gingers, medicinal plants, cacti, palms, spices etc. It is beautifully arranged and well maintained. Entry is allowed to students and public with permission. There is a touch and feel garden for the visually handicapped

Not much trees and Flowers, all are maintained for simply to name in site... bambusetum , orchidarium only have less than 10 number of species or varieties.May be due to work in progress...But we got some strange flowers of family zingiberaceae and melastomaceae .Need much attention ...

Its looks good but they closes the main entrance to the botanical garden...so now we could not get enter to it

The University of Calicut, also known as Calicut University is a state university in India run by the state of Kerala. It is headquartered at Thenjipalam in Malappuram district. Established in 1968, it is the second university to be set up in Kerala after University of Kerala. The university is affiliated by the University Grants Commission of India. The university has off-campus centres in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad districts, and in Lakshadweepislands. It conducts courses and examinations for the students of the affiliated colleges. It has 30 post graduate departments and 426 colleges.

Established in 1971 in the lush green panoramic, undulating, lateritic hummocky land of the Calicut University Campus, the Calicut University Botanical Garden (CUBG), has developed into an excellent centre of biodiversity and ex situ conservation of tropical Indian flora and exotic species. The Garden, inaugurated in 1972 by Prof. R.E. Holttum, the then Director, Singapore Botanical Garden.In 1985 the CUBG has achieved international status when it was recognized by the International Consortium of Botanic Garden and Centre for World Conservation Strategy.

It is a 14 acre garden with a wide Verity of species and its very useful for a botany student at it is open for other people by the by the permission of the HOD.

Botanical garden of Calicut university is not open to public. If one need to enter the garden, he/she should get a permission from the HoD of Botony department. Still one can enjoy the garden view from outside nd can walk around it. The garden contain several ponds and lot of big trees. Cactus garden and several other attractions are present here...

A very good place to walk through the valley in the university of Calicut.The name is great but no botanical values are get important here. Like a book some pages decorations made artificial but no botanical keeping of plants and animals are there.There occur a lot of doctors from the University in the specific science. But I cant a research operation on the park at glance.Best wishes for the future development of the place.
