Calicut Paragon Restaurant - Indian restaurant in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
Situated at Al Nahda 2 near Zulekha Hospital, Dubai. Went there to have a breakfast with my family. The delivery was super quick. Not much crowded. Dishes are reasonably priced. The Porotta was hot and fluffy. Paid RTA parking is available. Clean and neat washrooms. Staffs are very friendly.Overall a great experience.
If not u r a keralite and want to eat the fish which is cooked in traditional way with spices then its must place.
If you want to taste Kerala - malabar food then this is one of the first place to visit. There is a wide variety of food. Excellent place with the options of veg and non- veg options.
Best in the business when comes to South Indian food, especially Kerala cuisines.Being a vegetarian I too find a very good menu options.
I was invited to paragon for their cake mixing and it was a very thrilling and fun experience. Out of all the Malabar Restaurants in the UAE,Paragon is the only Malabar Restaurant that hosts such an event. Thank you Paragon for inviting me and I had an awesome time and your hospitality was through the roof and so was the food. Thank you 🙏🏻 Chef Roy for making such a scrumptious meal and I was honored to be invited to such an event.Thank you 🙏🏻 Mr.Sumesh -Gem of Paragon, a very friendly & Down to earth person and Mr.Shankar -General Manager of Paragon,Mr.Manikandan and the staff of Paragon , I would like to thank you all for their warm welcome and welcoming mind. The food was awesome and Once again Thank you Paragon for your warm invite .
Calicut Paragon was a perfect fit for the 24th Anniversary party of BLUEBIRD GROUP. From appetizers to desert, amazing food and always on point. Service is perfect, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They make the whole planning process easy, and were flexible in personalizing our need and left each & every guest talking about how great the food was. We feel delighted for choosing them as a part of our eminent event.
Nadan food spot! Amazing taste and well preserved authenticity! Crowded even at 3pm! Al Nahda branch
We really enjoyed the food and the service given to us at Calicut Paragon. The food was superb, worth a try! The manager, Mani was very helpful, thank you.Razzak from Srilanka
Branch of famous Calicut Paragon Hotel. You can find varieties of aunthentic calicut dishes, both veg and non-veg. Evening snacks are really good too.You may feel its a bit expensive option, but generally the taste justifies it.
One of the worst restaurants to eat from. Half of the dishes in the menu when enquired for are always unavailable. The washrooms is possibly a nuclear zone. The washrooms have the most putrid smells and the cleanliness is most definitely the breeding ground for Hepatitis A through Z. Despite repeated reminders to the manager about these things, the management is lethargic to improve even after I witnessed this SEVERAL times. Worst attitude from the managements side and extremely unwilling to change. Don’t eat here.
My first time trying out a South Indian restaurant I have to say everything was so amazing. Their paratha, curries and fish were on point. Mutton biryani was not the best I had but still quite good. Services and staffs attention was really great. Thank you Mr Sinudeen for being so hospitable. Overall a great new experience
Quality food and service. Best Kerala/Indian cuisine restaurant in Dubai. Fantastic service and smiles from staff. Praveen specifically, very helpful and humble made our dinner more delightful.
Must try the "Spicy chicken grilled". boneless tender chicken pieces marinated with spices and garnished with green chilly and cocunut pieces.
A no go to again on our list. If youre looking for good food with authentic Southern Kerala flavors at a reasonable price I would recommend Wide Range or Aaramam over this Calicut Paragon without a second thought. What we had: Mutton Varatiyathu, Beef Ularthiyath, Prawns Tava Fry, Porotta, Chappathi, TeaPros: Quality of service, cleanliness, family-friendly, fair ambienceCons: Extremely small portions, bland food, significantly higher prices for the portions, actual food isnt as shown on the menuOverall, would recommend you to go for another restaurant if possible
The food is excellent, and in my opinion its the best branch of Calicut Paragon in Dubai. Service is also top-notch, with friendly and helpful waiters. Special mention to Sinudeen who took great care of us.
Excellent food and ambience. Employees are very professional and courteous. Susanth was fantastic and very active in assisting us. Definitely a must visit place for authentic Kerala cuisine!!
Had Breakfast with family .Authentic Kerala cuisine. Amazing food and service . Nemat was outstanding and went out of the way to take care of us and our satisfaction. Mutton nalli i a must try
Ordered a idli vada sambar plate for takeaway, So sorry 😞 to let u know but breakfast was Salty, Oily, Very bad in taste. I cant eat it. Ive just Eat idli as it is. All chutney sambar was very bad in taste. I feel like puking. All was cold..Thanks but no thanks 🤨. This was the first and last time we buy anything from here. Totally not recommended 😑 😕
It was a very good experience for me with calicut paragon. I wanted to give a surprise for my parents on their anniversary and with the help of team calicut paragon I have done it beyond my expectations. Even dinner was really good, a perfect venue for family celebrations.
Food was amazing and best customer service received from Sinudeen
Excellent good, prompt service & great value for money. The staff are super helpful especially Sinudeen who helped us choose the best dishes from the menu.
Good South Indian food, njoyed the chettinad chicken, Kids loved the battered fried prawns. Staff is very friendly and kept checking on us from time to time. Excellent service delivered by Mr Sinudin and other memebers of team.
good place to eat with satisfy food taste is really good
Had lunch today. Im very disappointed considering Calicut Paragon branch. Meals, Porotta & fish mango curry was below average. Service also disappointed ☹️.
I went again there with my family for dinner, the restaurant was fully packed. But really impressed by Guest relation executive Parveen Das who accommodate us with in few seconds & make our evening special with Delicious food. Thanks Parveen you and team doing amazing job.
Calicut paragon is an amazing restaurant and I would certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to try some authentic Kerala cuisine . One of my favourite meals there is lamb shoulder with ghee rice . Its mouth watering and really tasty . The overall service at the restaurant is top notch and the staff are really friendly.
A visit after 7 long years still felt a lot more satisfying with a sumptuous chicken & mutton biriyani from Calicut Paragon.. and I can guarantee there is no Kerala restaurants in Australia which is remotely comparable to these guys or Malabar express .. there is huge market for good authentic Malayalee food in Aussie land due to sheer lack of competition and just that people there haven’t been to good restaurants like this which could provide mouth watering biriyani
Please consider this feedback from a well wisher of Paragon!!!For food, Calicut paragon Nahdha branch has been my second home. I tried all the restaurants in Qusais and Nahdha area when I shifted to Dubai two years ago.Almost everyday I have been having my breakfast and dinner form Calicut paragon. If Im around, during afternoons, I prefer my lunch also from Pargon. Many of my friends or clients meetings i do in Paragon over a meal here. Even If I go to any other part of Dubai, during mealtime, my first search is "calicut paragon nearby" or "Salkara nearby"Food quality is really great and a special mention to the gentlemen who serve me .. Professional and Friendly.Mostly Thahir, Dennichan and Samesh take care of my breakfast, Manoj ettans special morinja Appam without centre needs a special applause. When I come in the morning when they see my car they start preparing my food as they know my preference based on the weekday. I use to carry empty big bottle they fill my ‘Pathimukam’ water (An indian Ayurvedic rose colour water which they serve as freeready. Its like how your family members treat you when you are at home.Sainuikka, Sreerag , Swapen, Mukesh, Sushant serve me at lunch and dinner. Awesome people!!!!Also if I want something other than in the menu they will try to cook for me.As a business consultant I tried to study the success formula of Calicut Paragon. First is their Fresh Quality food and the second they serve not just food they serve food with Love and care to their customers. I am sure this is happening because of drive and value systems of the owner and the way he takes care of his employees. I remember a famous quote " Keep your employees happy and they will keep your clients happy". Even-though Im regularly having food from here I did not have the opportunity to meet him in my last two years, but I should congratulate the man behind this for creating a wonderful team and ensuring the quality of food. Not to forget the hygene and cleanliness - flawless. All in all, a very well managed ..All the very best team.Sorry for a lengthy note, I could not help expressing myself.
One of the best kerala food places in Al Nahda. Tasty food at affordable cost. Great for family dining. Staff were friendly and food was served fresh. Appam and fish curry is delicious.
I got a very good experience from Paragon. As usual food from Paragon was awesome and delicious. The varieties of food and service from staff amazed me. There I found all staff are very friendly and polite to customers. Especially I found Satheesh one who from Service department gave care and personal attention to all customers. He is very helpful in terms selection of right Course and suggestions of food. All the best to Mr.Satheeh and The Team Paragon.
Had their dum biriyani multiple times and non veg meals today. The taste was average and the quantity is just right for one person. They are trying to accommodate more people than the space is designed for. Thus we dont get enough privacy and couldnt enjoy the food we ordered.
Breakfast Review PARAGON AL NAHDA 2-I always felt like writing review about their breakfast but left it...Everytime i convince people to come over here i feel sad when i leave this place coz its never up to their mark as compared to Karama Paragon.Food Delivery to the table:- The worst ever always amoung all other restaurants of Paragon Group. It exactly took 29 Minutes to serve the below items during an average traffic inside the restsurant.1 Masala Dosa1 Ghee Roast2 plane poori without Baaji3 Appam with Veg Stew2 TeaAll the food served, especially Appam was cold.. I didnt respond nor requested to replace coz i knew it would again take time to replace and I would starve..Poori was surely cooked 15 / 20 minutes earlier as it just had not cold not warm mode.Doosa was also not the ghee roast.. It was dfntly roasted 10 minutes back.So whos fault is this..??The supervisors Or The suppliers, OR The Cooks, OR The kitchen supervisors OR The eaiters serving OR The Management..?It is a collective effort which needs to be shocased to comeup and fill the gaps here..Paid- 50.25 ||Is this Worth the time of wait and quality of food.. NEVER.Quality of Service :- Very Average and Not keeping an eye on all tables proactively.. After oir food we waited for anotger 10 monutes for tea we ordered first. Did not even ask if it should be served with food or after food. And after all the food and washing our hands delivered it 10 minutes later.Quality of food :- Very Average. Dfntly not worth the money we pay for.The Hygiene :- I would reiterate main hygiene at Al Nahda Paragon in not enoigh efforts taken to curbe or find solution to reduce the flies inside the place..Request management to kindly do the needful and bring betterment for tbis outlet in Al Nahda 2, Dxb.
Sometimes we feel pity for the people who make the dishes, I mean the chefs. We were in D2 Sports Academy to watch our college mates shuttle tournament and after decided to have dinner from this restaurant as it is very much on the other side of the venue and a name synonym to food lovers dream. But very unfortunate..We checked the menu and found all cliche names and nothing to attract a frequenter. Then decided to go for a salad. Colour full pictures of Caesars salad and rosemary salad attracted me. Order placed for Caesars salad. My dinner got spoiled. If they do not know how to do a salad, atleast let them Google for the recipe. Immersing the lettuce in to an ounce of mayonnaise is a very poor standard. Immediately, when they delivered the item, I told them. If you dont know ask, or dont do it.Please. Dont spoil someones dinner and charge them.
This is the dubai al nahda branch of calicut paragon restaurant chain. Yesterday we had dinner from here after a long time. The last time I visited was before covid. This time we had only parottas , appams and a chicken tikka masala curry. All of these items very delicious. Only concern is regarding the price which is a bit expensive for parottas and other breads and also the portion of a full chicken tikka masala does not justify the price. But considering the quality and taste of food, and the fact that we only visit this restaurant once in a year or so , this can be ignored. The service after the order is a bit slow, hence expect some time to be served(i didnt mind this as the parotta and all were hot and fluffy). Paid RTA parkings are available in front of the restaurant.
A really good place to enjoy authentic Kerala cuisineWe have tried chicken which was decent spicy and flavour was really goodParatha was best of the menu we triedAdding to this their Indian tea was really good
Calicut Paragon has been an all time favourite since a very long time.So today I ordered the breakfast combos :1. Appam and Veg Stew : 3 soft appams and the curry was perfectly spiced and in good quantity.2. Idiyyapam and Egg Roast : This has to be my favourite...the thinnest and soft string hoppers...Egg roast was perfectly yum! Both these combos are priced at Dhs. 10.50 and its reasonable for the quantity and quality they provide. The delivery was on time. The packaging of food is simply perfect. Food is placed in transparent plastic cover and sealed so its spill proof and then delivered in a different carry bag.
This review is for breakfast only -The breakfast from here was one among the worst we had recently considering the exorbitant rates for which we expect good quality & savour.1. Egg roast, poori bhaji, kadala curry was poor not as we expected from a great restaurant like this, with much better if not very good & economical options available nearby. The tea too was substandard.🥴2. Subsequently about the hygienic conditions of the tableware’s used, gotta say it looks like age old & haven’t been changed since years 😒. A good restaurant like this should keep their standards.3. Finally about the pricing & quality, they both are miles apart. 🤷🏻♀️No offense meant but this experience was disheartening from a reputed brand. Hope they make me change my mind for this review for the next visit!
As per the food I had from calicut paragon on the day of my visit, I would say its just an average kerala cuisine restaurant. I had appam, which was fluffy and good; prawn masala, paragon chicken 65, hot neyypayasam with vanilla ice cream, tender coconut pudding, and sea food malabari soup. The sea food malabari soup was a disaster, it tasted more like a curry which you can have with appam with mustard and curry leaves temperings and coconut milk added to it.The best out of all the food items I ordered was tender coconut pudding, which was not too sweet. I would say its up to ones personal taste liking or disliking the pudding, and I liked it. I also bought peanut jaggery balls from their sales counter, which tasted good. As per the salesperson, it is made of jaggery alone and has no added sugar. However, much to my dismay, there was no label on the packet that said about the ingredients.Price wise, the dishes are reasonably charged.
This restaurant offers one amoung the best kerala biryani here in UAE. This place ia mostly crowded. You may have to wait for 10 to 20 mints for getting a seat on weekends.Food is great
Mother of authentic malabar cousin in Dubai....a trend setter, rest all malabar restaurants are simply followers from my experience...its a branch of Calicut Pragon restaurant in Karama...
Calicut paragon is one of the famous names in South Indian restaurant business. They have branches in Dubai, I visited Al Nahda branch many times. You should expect rush on weekends there, hence plan your visit accordingly. Enough food choices for normal South Indian people, taste also good. You wont normally find difficult to find a parking in front of the restaurant.
You can’t go wrong in choosing to dine from Paragon. “Paragon Quality” is expected and delivered.Dining area is spacious, service is attentive and leaves no complaint. Menu is typical Kerala-cuisine with bits of Chinese and Continental offered. Most people are at Paragon for any of these three dishes - Chicken Biriyani, Fish Mango Curry and Vellappam (or Vellayappam for few), Lunch Meals (Fish Curry). Paragon has a notorious reputation and fan following for these combinations. My personal favourite and a strong recommendation is the Fish Mango Curry with Vellappam or Kerala Porotta (please do justice to this curry by ordering the Maida Porotta and not the Wheat one), Chicken Dry Fry with Flakes of Coconut sprinkled, finished with chilled Elaneer Payasam or Pudding (if Payasam is not available).Rest of the menu is also equally good, and by “equal” in Paragon-terms means exceptional! We have had their Porottas, Beef Pepper, a really spicy Chicken Curry (which I guess is the Kanthari Chicken Curry), Veg Kadai and few other dishes which I don’t remember. All were good.Prices are reasonable and the experience will leave you more than satisfied.Recommended for family/friends dining. Solo would do as well, but I’d suggest dishes as great as these are better enjoyed in company.
Can’t say amazing or delicious food as the authentic taste of basic South Indian cuisine is been altered with too much of coconut in everything and highly priced menu.I don’t understand why people are so eager to have food from here when there are so many other places in dubai which is better than PARAGON.
Purely comes in the top for the best food for the malabar cuisine. The food is exquisite and gets a good decor overall. The service is also rated the best. I tried beef olathiyath and garlic chicken with porotta. But expensive considering the other restaurant but worth it.
We had wonderful Malabari breakfast here! The pratha was super soft and the fish curry was yummy. Appam and chicken stew were great. Putu and chana were good too. Price was so reasonable.
Calicut Paragon branch is famous for their Kerala foods. I love Appam here... Soft spongy fluffy appam... The best in uae i ever had... in curry for sea food dishes dont miss to try Crab Tushar, which is coconut fried gravy of crab curry. Compared to other branches, here Qusais branch is less crowded than other branches.. So come here with family and friends 😍The Review day i had beef fry and appam.. Let me eat..
I have always been so delighted with food from here, but not this time. Beef kuttichira and roasted grilled chicken was suggested by our server. The beef did not feel fresh and the chicken had too much of charred portion. They have the potential to do much better. Appam and porotta was excellent as usual.
Authentic Malabar food. Satisfy your taste buds if you like coconut oil cooked food. I love the herbal water as a complementary drink.Food-4/5Ambience -3/5Service-3/5Value for money-4/5
Ambience was bit uncomfortable. Table was bit sticky. But food was really wonderful. We ordered for chicken Biriyani, Meals , fish fry, Porotta and Beef fry.Chicken Biriyani had great smell at it was luscious.Beef fry was dry, with kondattam and really spicy and delicious .Porotta was soft and good.I would like to conclude saying its really best food.
Very reputed restaurant chain of South India (Keralawith multiple outlets in UAE. This outlet has only muncipality paid parking which is free on Fridays and public holidays. Very spacious and good for occassions. Bit expensive in pricing though food is good. I had Lagoon Pothi biriyani today (wrapped in banana leafand taste was just ok.
