Cajun Bahamas Island Grill in Houma

Food was good. Service was short handed but working hard and doing the best they can. Id recommend them, and plan on eating there again.

The food is a refreshing change of pace to seafood here in Houma, however the service was a little slow. My son had a crab cake grilled cheese. He said it was good. I had the tropical spinach salad with grilled shrimp. It was tasty.

The spicy crab dip is so so good. The workers and servers were fast, friendly, and extremely efficient. They went above and beyond and made me feel like we were all family. Such a warm fun place to eat.

Wifes birthday today so we wanted something new. Decided on this place to try out. I had a shrimp and catfish platter and my wife had the same. Platter had 3 peaces of catfish and a had full of what looked to be shrimp bits and peaces with about 4 whole shrimp mixed in!! Had when waitress take the shrimp and and replaced it with more catfish. Waitress never brought our silverware till we were almost done eating. $52.75 later no very happy with this place well stick to out usual seafood spot! NEVER AGAIN!

Good food and decent service but I dont understand why you have to pay for "side" if all you want is the sandwich.

The food was good, a little pricey for the portions, service wasnt. Place was pretty empty so we sat to chat with friends for a while. The whole time our appetizer trash was never cleaned up and then the same with empty dinner plates. Only one other table in restaurant. Made it unpleasant to stay and talk.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!Not packed but service was extremely slow. We had a table of 3, all ordered burgers. The table next to us got their food about 10 minutes after we ordered, they ate, paid & left before we got our food. Im actually still sitting at the table, over one hour later, waiting for 3 hamburgers. I will not return here

First time there. Loved all the food only issue was our waitresses she seems really new and now one even tried to help her.

We dine here at least once a week. We normally come between 3::00 and 5:00. We take advantage of happy hour. We always order beer and water. Today we were charged for water. We always order steak nachos as an appetizer. Last week we barely had any steak; therefore, this week we informed the waitress. She said she would take care of it. She did ! They charged us for extra meat. We live in Morgan City and do not know if we will be back. I have no problem paying for food, but give me what I pay for.

Great atmosphere, great service, great food and great experience. The coconut shrimp was delicious. Everyone in my party of five were very happy with the food as well as the service. Cant wait to come back to Houma and eat here again!

They messed up our order 3 times . The waiter was awesome . We sat at the bar and the owner was bartending and they were short staffed . I gave it a 4 cause the overall experience of this place was good .

My family, wife and two children, and I went eat here last night for my birthday dinner. I really like the food here and the quality. Unfortunately last night was not satisfactory. While I understand the bar is open for anyone, we are a free speech country, I did not appreciate hearing the profanity, loud too, while we were eating. So be aware that you may hear some swearing while you try to feed your children.

Very good coconut shrimp. Friendly wait staff. Grilled Wahoo couldve been seasoned better but once I put it in the sweet heat dipping sauce it was great! Jerk Chicken was overcooked and dry. Thats why it got 4 stars. Good overall.

We love to go to the Cajun Bahamas! It is one of our favorite places. We always get the queso and lava burgers. The atmosphere is great, and the staff is friendly!

The snapper sandwich with jerk sauce and the shrimp tacos were awesome. So was the service. Nice place.

The food is fantastic, especially that thing they do when frying a pork chop. But itll take you a minute to get your food.... so just make sure you count how many Cajun Bahama Mamas you drink while you wait or youre gonna have to Uber home.Update: Went again today, worst service ever. There were 4 people in there. I had to go get beer from the Rotolos. And waited over an hour for my food. We took it to go and continued on to the Rotolos. Service was just terrible.

The food here is FANTASTIC, I highly recommend the nachos, and The Lava Burger on a Beach Bun. This is a new favorite place of my wife and me.

This is the first time Ive had their food; they did not disappoint. I love new foods, but am cautious to new seasonings since I have a sensitive stomach.Their food is flavorful, not over seasoned, and was perfectly cooked. Everything paired together perfect. I was iffy about trying the aioli sauces but super happy I did! Plus we had plenty left over for a snack later.Order:Caribbean Gumbo Soup - different, but delicious, and loaded with seafood.Black bean soup - smooth and mildSmoked fish dip - light smoked flavor, perfectly seasoned.Chic Arrones (chicken cracklin- most of the pieces were perfectly crunchy and some a little softer (expected when delivered)Mix or Match tacos (mojo shrimp, mojo fish, and jerk chicken- the mango was amazing on them, perfectly cooked, tried each aioli with each taco and they all went good together, excellent flavor.Crab cake grilled cheese on beach bun with avocado and cheddar cheese and a side of street corn - (his wordscheesey goodness surrounding a perfectly fried crab pattie and corn was sweet, juicy, and perfect flavor.Summary, if you are on the fence about trying this place, go and enjoy, you wont regret it.

This place is so cute!! Love the beachy vibes. Very pretty inside and also appreciate that it was super clean. We had the snapper sandwich and the salad with the seared tuna and mango. Yum! Big plus: the avocado on the salad was perfectly ripe. Loved the key lime cocktail with the graham rim. Soo delicious. Made me wish I was wearing my bikini! Lol. The server was sweet, too. Two thumbs up!

Good burger. Tropical salad was very good. Smoked fish dip was great. The grilled cheese crab patty was outstanding. Service has greatly improved.

Our waitress Essance was great! She was very nice and attentive. Food was good. The chicken club was bigger than I expected. Overall good food.

Food was great took the family for a little Cajun Bahamas, and they all loved it! Step out of your comfort zone and give it a try. We will be back!

Schooner Tuna salad is the absolute best of its kind in town!! Love the creative element and vibe at this location. Service on point as well (and food was fast). Great place for lunch and/or to bring family on weekend.

We went there for the first time tonight. It was great! The vibe and style of the restaurant was awesome. Waitress was great. Its a fun theme and mix of food. The nachos app was great and I had the crabcake sandwich and street corn - both were amazing. My boyfriend got the weekend special - blackened shrimp over alfredo pasta. The shrimp was really good! The alfredo pasta was okay - not bad, but nothing amazing. It was $17, which seems a little expensive to me for a special and for such a basic dish, but everything else was a reasonably priced. Overall, good restaurant. Definitely will be back.

First time and definelty will not be the last. They have ruined me for any other restaurant. The wait staff completely attentive. The food exceptional the atmosphere authentic. The prices were extremely appropriate for the amount of food. And everyone must try the conch fritters!!. Love love love. Will be back soon!

I had the Bam Zing Pow shrimp and it just was not good or flavorful enough. just basic. and i ordered fries that I guess were okay but not even a bit of salt or flavoring. The lemonade was pretty watered down. I had tried about 3 different sauces with my food and 2 of the 3 tasted like asian style sauces. not carribean. JERK SAUCE does not taste like a sweet and sour sauce. 1 sauce was supoosed to be curry and had no curry flavor whatsoever. this place was a 2 out of 5. the staff was indeed very friendly and helpful. I did appreciate their efforts and effeciency. but the food was sub par. You can barely call this carribean cajun cuisine.

I ordered a jerk fish sandwich and shrimp and fish tacos it took about 30 minutes to get to my table so it is not a good option for work lunch but the food was fresh and delicious and the service is excellent!

The food was AWESOME! We ordered the Ultimate Nachos as an appetizer. You could have this as a meal as it has so much on it. We had to take it to go and we ate it later. I had the 3 tacos - 2 fish and 1 jerk chicken. The flavors of these tacos are on point. You get enough spice that says cajun without too much heat. The best fish tacos I have ever had. My husband had the All American burger and it too was very good. It is on a sweet type roll which gave it a distinctive flavor. The beef was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back for more! We went right at 11 so there were no issues with service either.

Service was good. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. I had tacos that included fish, shrimp, and chicken. The shrimp tacos were delicious. Perfect. The fish tacos were a little dry and chicken was ok. Good but nothing to drool over. My husband had the lava burger which he really enjoyed. I had a bite and it was delish. The bread was sweet, which was different. Fries were your basic restaurant fries, nothing special. We had the bread pudding beignets for dessert. It was ok. A little plain, I think the dish would be more elevated if they would include some ice cream. Overall satisfactisfying meal for us.

Long wait, but great staff, awesome vibe, amazing food, and awesome service. My drink was never empty and the food was some of the best I’ve tasted in a long time. Definitely try their bread pudding beignets.
