Caffe Concerto Paszkowski - Restaurant in Florence, Italy
Caffe Concerto Paszkowski in Florence
Description
Privilege
Place was amazing with nice view, food options could be more veg friendly. But will visit again anytime
MoreAttention to the red/blond-bearded waiter who tries to distract you while charging you extra tip. The place was good and the atmosphere too, but the personnel is unfortunately not to be trusted.
MoreBest location to enjoy surrounding Florence center area.Good place for appertivo, lunch, drinks with very friendly staffs, easy for foreigner as well, as menu available in English.Premium price but worth it with good food and friendly staff overall.
MoreAfter a day of discovering Florence, take a break at this sheik bistro cafe, Staff is attentive and knowledgable.Have a Spritz or another cocktail and people watch on the piazza.Food is delicious .Strongly recomend
MorePaszkowski HistoryOne of the most famous historical cafés in Florence is the Caffè Concerto Paszkowski. It started as a Polish brewery in the 19th century Jewish ghetto, but when the area was redeveloped, Paszkowski maintained the same site and now has a place of honor in Republic Square.Born in the same spaces as Caffè Centrale, one of the first cafés in Piazza della Repubblica.in 1903 the restaurant took the name Paszkowski thanks to the acquisition by the company Carlo Paszkowski & C., pioneers of the beer industry in Italy. It became a brewery and refreshment point accompanying the Florentine evenings with the formula of "Coffee Concert".At the beginning of the twentieth century, Caffè Paszkowski established itself as a literary café, welcoming intellectuals such as D’Annunzio, Soffici, Papini, Montale, Saba and Pratolini.Inside, a simple coffee gives the opportunity to admire miniature cakes, pastries and chocolates in sparkling glass cases while expert bartenders prepare cocktails. The selection of beers that customers can enjoy as an alternative to one of the Signature Drinks inspired by the design of the restaurant and all that this place tells about is inevitable.Since 1911, Caffè Paszkowski stands out for the proposal of a musical orchestra which, with the formula "Caffè Concerto", accompanies the Florentine evenings by cheering up the outdoor spaces during the summer and the tea room during the months Winter.
MoreAn excellent experience and always worth a visit.I dine here every time I am in town and have never been disappointed. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
MoreI loved the atmosphereIt was a little bit expensive but the service is worth it.Thank you
MoreThe drinks, the location, the decor, the terrace with the mist, the food all fantastic. Service a bit slow. But would definitely recommend!
MoreWas there 2days ago and I enjoyed everything about the place . Good services that makes me wanna come back for my birthday in 2wks
MoreRefined and relax atmosphere.Higher price than other places but reasonable for such an amazing experience.
MoreClassic Paris style grand cafe ... in these touristy areas it always seems they struggle to stay on top of things ... stains in couches ... it is not what you expect when you pay Euro 6 for a Caffe freddo.
MoreLove this place. Service is excellent, location is awesome and the food is great. Super place to recharge after roaming around florence
MoreSlightly pricey cocktails, but otherwise a lovely place to sit and take a break from walking around the city. Staff were very polite and service was good.
MoreAn excellent alternative for the [in my opinion] equally superb Caffe Gilli when you’re staying longer in Florence…
MoreGreat place, with an amazing view. The staff is verry friendly and fast.
It was very hot 🔥,the homemade ice tea was Perfecto. Great location for people watching.
MoreMagic ambience every night. The best entertainment in town, impeccable service from Matteo and Angelica, and certainly the high quality of food and beverages.
MoreNice atmosphere and pastries , but it ends there. You wait to get served once, then no one ever checks up on you. Ive seen 5 workers sitting people, and 2 serving. Service is a joke . At night , nice entertaiment , same bad service though .
MoreTerrible service. Did not get the drinks we ordered. Asked for most things at least twice. Didn’t get served to order dessert. Had to find someone to pay the bill as they would not come to the table. The steak came out medium when asked for rare. The carbonara was so salty and congealed it was inedible. 2 stars as good location. Poor food and service.
MoreService was not good. Pasta carbonara had no flavor and high in salt. Cesar salad with barely any shrimp. Overpriced food.
MoreOne of our favorite place in city center, outside or inside is always very comfortable and the waiters and staff are all very professional and friendly. At the counter you have a coffe and cappuccino maestro, the pastry is all very delicious. When you sit they charge you additionally for the service but it is like a 5star level.
MoreWe had a lovely lunch here. Very central. The food was lovely and service was good and very polite. We ordered shrimp Cesar, Burrata ravioli, dessert, fruit.. everything was great.
MoreCute place to chill after lots of walking and shopping. Slow service. But nice to chill on sofa seats and the water spray cooling us down !
MoreGreat ambiance and wonderful live music by local musicians (starting at 9pm! The other reviews are correct when mentioning a great bar menu.Sadly our service was horrendous, our waiter was cold and unkind. When asking about the specials I was made to feel unwelcome. I was able to look past that and enjoy my dinner, I had ordered the tuna special with semi-bitter onions, the dish was to my liking and well priced.Sadly the service fell through again. We asked for a bottle of mineral water which was priced at €4, typical of a place like this. The water was brought to us opened and lukewarm, it tasted just like the tap water in our apartment down the street. Curious, given that they seem to make most of their dinner money from their expensive beverage pricing (ie. My sister asked for a Fanta which was priced at €7).Then comes the check, which we asked for repeatedly (at 10 minute intervalsbut we didn’t get. What’s funny is as another waiter saw me writing this review they suddenly decided to start saying you’re welcome and responding to my thank you and good evenings. We paid over €100 for a terrible dinner and tourist trap experience. I hope their musicians find a better venue which would afford them the tips they truly deserve.I wrote this in English because this restaurant is obviously a tourist trap for American with no culinary experience, with inauthentic food, and Caesar salads with Caesar dressing (dressing which is not actually Italian but was invented in Mexico). I wish them the best, but trust me, your money can be much better spent on dinner in other regions of this beautiful and culturally rich city.I wish you a wonderful time in Florence :)
MoreService for coffee at the coffee bar is fantastic. Excellent coffee and the guys know what they’re doing. Pastries also excellent. The mistake we made was coming again and sitting outside. If you want to know how it feels to have servers who truly do not care, try this place. We ordered two drinks and an appetizer. Our drinks eventually came. The appetizers I think are still on their way. We asked for a bill to make dinner. That took over twenty minutes.Go to the place, have a coffee and a pastry inside. But please do yourself a favor and avoid the outside dining. I could have ordered a cocktail and appetizer from UberEats and flown home, and gotten it faster.
MoreLovely atmosphere, the drinks were refreshing and the staff was very hospitable and kind. Also gave us a free on the house snacks to go with our drinks. Their service made my day ❤️
MoreVery nice cafe, beautiful interior and great selection. Very good service.
I visited back in June 2019, the coffee was nice and the tiramisu was good too. The location of the cafe is everything!
MoreFabulous spot, fabulous food and excellent shops all around
Tourist trap! Their food is average at best. The service is consistently slow and the servers are not friendly. I asked 3 times for my check and been waiting for like 30 minutes. They forget what you ask them!
MoreExpensive and service is very, very slow - 40 min to take my order, another 30 to get one drink and the finger pastries for 22e. Another 20 minutes after I was finished and got the bill to take my cash payment. Wasnt in a rush so it was ok, had very comfy lounge chairs around the perimeter of the patio, and the cocktail was tasty. If looking to kill some time and people watch, enjoy.
MoreBest Friday night dinner and concert in Florence
Delicious cappuccino and pastries!! Everything was superb. Was recommended this place by a local and she was 100% right! Walk right up to the bar, order your drink, and off you go. Highly recommend the pistachio filled pastry. So light and fresh.
MoreWe did not have a good experience with this place. The food is tasty and well sized but the service is awful, although the waitress was polite with us and obliging. One of my table guests broke a teeth in a shell and the waiter and manager had no reaction.Plus, they brought us a wrong dish, we did not refuse it since we thought that it may be the ‘house’ will, of course we had to pay for that mistake.I would not recommend this restaurant since there are a plenty more places to visit in Florence. Nothing is special enough to deserve the risk
MoreOverall good experience. We didn’t expect anything crazy having picked a very touristy location. There was great live music on and the drinks were fantastic. Food was fine/good. We didn’t feel rushed and we’re satisfied with the service provided.
MoreClassic upscale cafe. Cafe freddo shakerato can be found here. Pricey because it is on the square, but authentic.
MoreWicked touristy. This is a more Americanized restaurant. The atmosphere is pretty cool they have live music and comfy chairs. The service was not very good at all. We got a bottle of wine and then it took over a half hour for our waitress to come take our order. Ultimately we didnt order food and went elsewhere. I understand theyre busy but the service needs to be better. Id recommend a more local restaurant over a tourist spot.
MoreRelatively expensive, but totally justified for the killer location, chic setting, friendly service, and menu quality. The food ranges between decent and great, but the drinks are stellar. For context, I take my daughters, who are 4&7, on a lot of “dates” while my wife is working (she is a professor and we are living in Florence since she received a Fulbright Fellowship). We can be a lot to handle! So I really appreciated how the servers treated us with not just respect, but genuine joy. They sat us in an area with couches and treated my girls like royalty. My girls also claim they have the best fries and chicken nuggets on the planet. My specialty house spritz was the best drink I’ve had in Italy and my avocado toast was really good too. Thanks to everyone who works there for a lovely experience!!!
MoreStopped here for a gorgeous coffee after walking around the sights of Florence. Ambience excellent, location very good and sat outside under shades. Great place to stop and people watch as the area is very affluent. A place for us to stop on visits to Florence in the future.
MoreNice and cozy cafe and resturant, we chilled at it after sunset time while its raining. We had a coffee as well fried zucchini flowers
MoreThe place is cosy and warm, and the waiters are very professional yet friendly. The cocktails are very good, and the sides we ordered were delicious. I recommend the "passion likes negroni" ans the cheesecake, which are both super good.Cocktails prices range from 12 for the classics to 18 euros for the revisited ones.
MoreBeautiful fancy, don’t use the bathroom!Came for an inbetween coffee and snack, and did not have to wait to long to enter the popular establishment.Very lovely waiters and a delicious amount of options to choose from! The inside is beautiful, and the outside is covered so you may enjoy the view over the plaza while staying warm and dry.Only down side to it all was the bathrooms. For such a beautiful luxurious place, I was caught by surprise when asked to wait in an increasing unruly line to go to the bathroom downstairs. The Corona rules flew out the window as everyone started piling up close as the line was passing the pastry bar at the entrance. Some young boys started an argument with the bathroom attendant. The bathroom itself was dirty and smelled of urine regardless of wearing a mask. This was right before we left, so it really did leave a bad aftertaste of the place.
MoreOutstanding place for a coffee, drinks and some fresh break under the hot Florence sun. Service is perfect.
MoreVery nice food and service.Location excellent in the center of FlorenceI really enjoyed the culinary experience with interesting and exciting food dishes. The cocktails were amazing 🤩Just find the price a little to expensive, but probably because of the location
MoreThe food is amazing! Absolutely No issues about the taste ! BUT the service, the one important Thing - get the order right just not working.. check you order before eating..But otherwise its good 😊
MoreA very nice place to have a coffee or something sweet in the centre of Florence. The staff was very polite and professional, the quality of service was excellent. The prices are a bit higher if you sit down but I think its worth it. Highly recommended!
MoreThe best thing about this historically-rich caffè is that despite its grandiosity and elegance, the people who work there are all very friendly and kind and everyone can afford to have a coffee at the counter, and everyone should! It’s a Florentine tradition.
MoreA nice spot for a coffee and a treat. If you stay at the bar, you will pay regular cheap car prices. Sitting down can cost quite a lot. The outdoor covered room is beautiful. The guys who served us us were very nice and professional. The bar area is quite big so therefore it has plenty of space for distancing from other guest and also divided with plexiglass.
MoreNice place. We only had drinks, i.e. a couple of cocktails. My signature cocktail of a “botanical” negroni was very flavoursome, a nice variation on the classic Italian cocktail. As often in Italy it came accompanied with nice little snacks. Good location in the center piazza della repubblica. The water mist dispensers gave a bit of cool on the terrace as it was a very hot August afternoon.
MoreFancy place. Live music at nights, great food including American style breakfast in the morning (eggs, bacon, omelette and more). Outside terrazza is only for a restaurant menu. If you are looking for a cappuccino and a pastry or sandwich - take a look inside. Great varieties of sandwiches and pastries. ☕️ 🍸🥐🍝👌👍
