Cafeina in Valladolid

Do not order drinks that the waiter proposed and are not on the menu. The drinks ended up being way too expensive.

The worst experience in Mexico by far !Really really bad !

It was slow during dinner time when my wife and I visited. We ordered the fish and chip, picanha steak, and a burger. We asked that both beef dishes be cooked to medium well. Both came out rare (meat was still red). We then asked to take it back and have it cooked well done. It came back the same and was cold. What!? We just paid and left the burger and steak untouched. Sorry, we’re not trying to get food poisoning in Mexico eating extremely undercooked meat. Their grill must have not been working. Their fryer was fine since the fish and chip was piping hot. The waiter didn’t speak English and we don’t speak Spanish but all communication was done through Google translate.

Eh... The menu needs to be updated add 50% to it.Tacos were nice but the pizza was just a basic frozen one.

Pizza was good. A bit expensive but nice place. We waited a long time for the food.

First time here, we ordered a pizza, it took a while and when finally came to our table, ir was not cooked well, all veggies were raw and cold. Music was great, but food was expensive and disappointing.

We were here on New Years Eve. Had reserved the day before via Facebook, the same day the reservation was confirmed again. When we got there, we had to pay 100 pesos per person (should have been pointed out to us via Facebookand there was no table reserved for us. Fortunately, we still got one as desired on the terrace. However, the bench for sitting was more than uncomfortable (shorter clothes should not be worn here). The waiters were friendly (one star for thatand very eager, especially when it comes to clearing the table, but they can definitely work on the speed of taking orders and bringing the bill. We sat on the terrace, which has a great atmosphere (for this the second star). Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio for the food and most of the drinks was not right at all. The third star is therefore only for the guacamole burger and the house cocktails, but actually you should only give half a star for this (but of course you cant). The guacamole was simply too little for the price, the sausage and cheese plate had too much blue cheese and too little Serrano ham for the price. The octopus was very greasy and for the price also just not as you would expect. The fries with the burger were also drenched in grease and totally soft. All in all, you can eat most things already, but for the price we would have expected more than an Instagram-worthy arrangement on the plate.

Saw some reviews on google maps so we decided to come here. My friend enjoyed his burger. I got the shrimp tacos or the "gringas de camaron" and my other friend got the cochinita pibil. I quite enjoyed the shrimp tacos, so did my friend who got the cochinita. Their lemonade with "yerbabuena" was also really good. Highly recommend.

Wonderful place for live music and mezcal! We danced to a great Salsa band and tried a bunch of delicious mezcals. Food was excellent too.

Huge disappointment! Drinks are of bad quality - the clericot tinto ordered was more like a apple juice with fruit pieces instead of a sangria kinda drink.It took ages to get the waiter’s attention.On top of that two different kind of music were played simultaneously - it really gave me an headache. Worst bar to go to!

We went to Caféine to eat diner. The place is nice but waiters don’t speak English and basic Spanish is not enough. If you are in the rooftop you hear 2 loud musics at the same time from the concert and the dj areas… the food was correct but arrived after a long expectation, one dish after another… we thought they forgot one dish and couldn’t explain to the waiter so we ordered a new dish and had to cancel it when the previous one was actually delivered to our table. So we had this awkward situation with other waiters coming to our table to try and understand why we wanted to cancel the last dish we ordered… really not a good experience. We tried to explain but apparently everything was our fault so we left.

Incredibly bad service and overpriced place. The patio is definitely not worth the price.First of all they have live salsa inside and a DJ outside, so you cant really enjoy neither.The pizza wasnt good at all and we ordered a beer to 5 different waiters and never got it!! And it somehow took them ages to get us our check.

Nice bar with great outside terrace, the burger in the restaurant is really tasty but pizza in the bar not.

We loved Cafeina so much that we visited twice in three days 😂 the outdoor space is beautiful. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. There was even live music when we came for dinner! The staff were able to translate the menu into English for us. As Americans, we LOVED the tacos called Gringos Camarones. We had them for dinner and then came back two days later to have them for lunch. We also had a mezcal mixed drink and a smoothie, which were also delicious. This restaurant has a great location, only a few minutes from the main plaza in Valladolid. Give it a try if you are in the area!

Beautiful Cantina just a few blocks away from the main square in Valladoid. Live music and a nicely decorated outdoor space with a DJ.

The food is delicious but the service was terribly slow. The waiter was great, but he needed help. Seems like he was the only one taking care of guest.

Great place for a chillout in the garden. Guacamole was OK but tacos delicious! Small choice of beers, but the draft is OK and in a decent price. I recommend :)

Good food, good drinks, good vibe.Only negative is that they had a live band inside and a DJ outside. Both were good and suited the vibe of the place BUT it meant a clash of two different sounds overlapping each other. Especially annoying as we sat outside so we could hold conversation but still hear the music, then the DJ set up next to us.

Nice place, cantina-style, for some beer, traditional Mexican snacks, and to listen to some music. They have a backyard that its very relaxing, and until 5-6pm you get free snacks like sausage for free when you order the cold beers.

Place is absolutely amazing, service was completely awful, took forever to take the order of if drinks, the nachos we ordered were cold and to even pay I had to get up and go to the cashier, waiter was nowhere to be found, I recommend you go in, take a picture and leave, also the bathroom was nasty, smelled and some shady characters were selling. Not a place to go. At. All.

The pizza was just ok. Waiter and owner clearly were recommending the most expensive cocktails and wine. They apparently don’t have an actual drink menu with prices... do not order anything without asking how much it is. Also the owner tried to video us twice for promos and a waiter kept staring at my girlfriend. Creeps hiring creeps.

Excellent for the price! Great atmosphere, didnt give it a 5, because the breakfast menu was limited.

We visited for a meal, and returned for the friendship we created with the owner German (and more tasty meals of course). We sang and danced into the night. Whenever back in Valladolid, Ill be sure to visit Cafeina.The owner German is so very helpful and worldly wise. We talked with him for hours. Our trip around the Yucatan was better because of the advice we had received from German and his customers. German also offers accommodation almost across the road from his restaurant - which is super central.

Terrible service, staff was unwelcoming from the time we entered. Went there for coffee and it’s the worst service I ever experienced at a coffee shop. Coffee was like water so I didn’t even drink it. Much better places to go in this city

Food was average and the waiter asked us around 8 times if we were oké... well sorry I do not want to have 6 main courses... it is polite but this was way too much!

Exceptional service (served by a gentleman named Ericand great food. Good beer selection too. If you can, go and eat here later (after 9pmas the vibes get better and better as the night goes on.

Friendly host and waiter, perfect tuna, delicious hamburger and a nice table in the garden made it a perfect night. Highly recommended!

Eduardo convinced my hangry 6-year-old to stop for a pizza, and then took great care of us for the entire meal. The drinks were great, the pizza looked incredible, the duck tacos were delicious, and the papas fritas were among the best in North America. Such a wonderful staff and friendly locals, too-- definitely give it a try!

Live salsa music and dance floor from 21:30 Thursdays to Sundays! Food is nice too, especially the dessert. Waiters are also very friendly. You can sit in the restaurant or on the patio, and they have big spray if you need it!

Cozy place right in the hearth of the city, best enjoyed by having a beer or coffee at night, excellent food and beverages!

Just a lemonade with hibiscus drink to cool down

Terrible, we all got up and left. No delactosada milk, no light snacks, no hot chocolate, went down the street and the restaurant had everything and we were served with smiles.Cafeina lost out, there were 11 of us!

Wonderful restaurant in valladolid. My wife had the tuna and it was seared to perfection, I had a delicious personal sized pizza. The prices were low, the staff was amazing and the drinks were cold. Couldnt ask for more things to go right!

A good place to go after hangingaround the streets. Pasta is loved by children. Special recommendation to the PlayaPizza.

Good place, a little pricey for Mexican conditions. The pizza dough is not handmade. But the most unbelievable was, that the staff didnt eat the restaurant food. At 8 oclock they were running to the hot dog guy to buy their dinner in front of the guests. For some time there was nobody in service.

Watch your bartender make your drinks if you plan on ordering cocktails.Poorly run bar, poor service, rude staff.Ordered 2 cocktails paying 90 peso per drink, top shelf tequila listed as ingredient on menu, watched the man behind the bar use house tequila, When questioned he agreed to make two new cocktails, then watched him make the drinks again, the man poured about half a shot into the blender of the correct tequila on his second attempt to get the drink right, I was then served two half full cocktails.Either the bartender is incompetent or they have very low morals and ethics, saving a few peso for the business resulted in an unhappy group of customers leaving instead of spending more money and enjoying our time.The bare minimum that could have been done was replace the drinks correctly, instead I was served rubbish and felt the need to leave the venue and write my first ever bad review.Overall a nice little place, unfortunately a horrible experience.

We absolutely loved this place. Came nearly every day of our holiday for the speedy wifi, friendly service and spectacular food. Great place to get some work done with aircon and plenty of seating. A gem in Valladolid.

Very cool place, with a restaurant with excellent food on one side, a cool bar / dancefloor on the other side (used to be two different places I think), and a surprise outside, really worth peaking in!!! Staff is very nice.Has really good sushi on Fridays and Saturdays at time of visit.

Everything seemed to be OK; the food was good and the waiter was nice and attentive. But be careful with these people, as they are crooks. We ordered a few shots of tequila/mezcal. They were quite small (maybe 30ml each), but when the bill came we ended up paying 130 MXN for each single one of them. Never mind that in their menu tequilas were priced between 40-60 MXN. Apparently in this place "two tequilas, please" has "the most expensive you have" implied. Its just dishonest.

Excelent place to dinner with friends! Very good menu. If you stay at Valladolid or just passing by give it a try and you will be satisfied.

Not sure we got the full experience since peak time for this spot is after 8 pm. We dropped by for delicious Horchata, Limonada, and Hibiscus (Jamaicadrinks and an order of fries around 11 am. Service was friendly and helpful. Kitchen added a side of aoli to our papas fritas, a nice touch. Great location on a lovely walking street in Valladolid.

Great pizzas.. Better than most chains claiming to be pizza experts! Good drinks selection too.. Good music.. Recommended.
