Good stuff

Nice place with very friendly service. Price and portions were quite normal for the area, food was decent overall. The gnocchi wasn’t great (spongy pasta), cordon bleu was fine, and the mushroom dish with rice was good. Despite the place being quite crowded, the servers were attentive and happy to help us. Would visit again.

Souvent complet pourtant on vous trouvera toujours une petite place. Tout est bon, produits locaux. A ne pas manquer, la mousse maison au chocolat noir😍😍😍

Toujours une bonne adresse ce Café du Simplon. Patron et équipe courtois, bonne cuisine, fraicheur des produits, un peu comme les bons bouchons lyonnais. Jai pris longlet car il est très rare den trouver en Suisse. Très bonne bière artisanal. Le dessert nétait pas trop sucré (excellent pointet très aéré (mousse au chocolat. Never happened d to me before that staff doesnt let me go in, because I wanted only cafe and not to eat.They have Cafe in their name and had free tables in that moment.

Simply a perfect experience. Staff was friendly and effective, food was delicious. The theme (the train journey through the simplon passwas nicely expressed through the menu. The athmosphere was lively! I would recommend this place to anyone that visits Lausanne 10/10

Edit: I’m editing my review after a recent negative experience here when I asked for a glass of water and was told rudely by an older man serving that they do not offer glasses of water. I’ve been here and ordered water dozens of time, but he just wanted to push a sale even though it was not a busy time and my colleague had already ordered coffee. Rude.They have a set menu as well as rotating specials so there is always something new to try. Nice atmosphere. Vegetarian friendly.

Usually around main line rail way stations one finds ‘greasy spoons’, Cafe Simpson is a diamond in the rough. Friendly bi lingual staff( possibly more( this is Switzerlandknowledgeable friendly, swift but not in one’s faces. Wide menu ranging from Flammerkuke, pasta plus vegetarian and meat dishes Macedonian in origin and a rosy bee & frites to die for! Prices are very average for the town’s restaurants with voice of local wines beers and cocktails. The space is rudimentary but one is not eating the table linen. Outside eating when weather pleasant on a road which is almost traffic freeWell worth a visit & even more. AE😎🖖

Such a beautiful place!! This cute corner cafe (now with its newly opened bar next to itoffers a vivid enviroment on the cutest paidestrian street and AMAZING food!! The Best beef tab I ever had, no kidding!! Staff know their job and they are very eficient and kind!! If you visit Laussane and especially if you are staying near the train station you HAVE to visit!!

Un bel locale che si trova vicino alla stazione di Lausanne, ottimo per farsi un aperitivo in tranquillità, la sua posizione strategica fa in modo di essere un piccolo porto per chi parte e chi arriva, ottimo il cibo, il personale è cordiale e disponibile, ottimo anche il fatto che nel locale parlino sia francese che spagnolo, questo aiuta un po chi come me non conosce alla perfezione entrambe le lingue, ottimo anche per cena pur non essendo un ristorante.

Really friendly staff. Quick, polite and in a good mood. Cozy atmosphere, music has a good volume not to jeopardise the chats at the table.The food was good. It is not mind blowing but good quality. The mousse au chocolate was great though.

Je descends du train à Lausanne. 12h, j’ai faim. Je déambule pour trouver un endroit pour me restaurer. J’aperçois une terrasse comble, à l’ombre. Je me laisse tenter et tente ma chance, c’est en quelques secondes qu’on me place en terrasse. J’ai passé un moment agréable, avec un serveur charmant, serviable malgré le rush. Bref, parfait pour une petite escapade citadine. Moules-Frites délicieuses et les plats chez mes voisins avaient l’aire alléchant!

Casual café train stations next door

Nice place to grab a drink or have a casual meal out. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Great coffee and beer place next to the train station. They have a very pleasant outside seating area, that make you feel a little bit like having a drink in a busy, trendy major European city. I really love the atmosphere of this bar.

The crowd is quite lively in the evening, especially when its warm enough for the terrasse to be in operation, which is most of the time. The menu is simple but good, as is the south-eastern European wine. I usually get the vegetable tajine.

I love the atmosphere and the mix of old and young. The owner is great too. Food is good for the money and it has excellent loose teas and coffee.
