Nice environment with a good selection of beers and food

One of my favorite places in the city. Just a bit too crowded on weekend nights for my personal taste.

20 years ago the ebeling was already there. One of the few bars on Overtoom that keeps going strong.

Nice place to drink beer outside. The staff is super friendly!They have tables with electricity, so you can connect your laptop there

lunch here was lovely, really nice to sit on the street and the food was excellent. prices are good too

My favourite bar in Amsterdam, if you stay long enough the tables are moved to the side and the dance floor is opened. 💃

Good bar, good music, and very good barmaid. She made a coktail with Rhum very good 😁

Disgusting place for women security! I got insulted by a customer and when I told the bouncer about it the did nothing but told me that “there are two sides of every story “ this is unacceptable and disrespectful! Will never ever go to this place and I’d suggest you don’t as well. There are nice alternatives around!

Very poor security for women - sad that when you are assaulted staff tells you « this table has more money on » and does nothing. Extremely disappointing, extremely sad. Will definitely advertise this place as it should.

What a fantastic bar staff are great and the food I can honestly say is delicious a must to try is there loaded fries rendang unbelievable

I can only assume that the 4.1 comes from trendy hipsters with more money than taste or sense.The staff are rude, arrogant, unhelpful. The food is banal, often badly prepared and served and mostly tasteless.They do not clean the beer pipes.The drinks are in general, small, expensive and worst of all they put tables everywhere but as soon as you put your drink down, they sneak up and take it away - clean table policy I was told. Just stealing.I hope this place goes down the toilet.I am giving up the group of mates who rate this place, rather than be peer group pressured into going ever again

Busy and loud, but have great cheerful and youthful vibe. I like coming there for early dinner to eat their great flammkuchen. Then, the tables are put away and the party starts. If you don’t mind the crowds and loud music, you will have a great evening!

Good atmosphere, a bit different post covid, less busy. Looking for food? Try the flamkuchen, they are all as delicious !

Located on the Overtoom and a quick walk from the Vondelpark or Marriott, but also a quick walk from the non touristy areas further west or south.This place has huge potential but it’s also more of a hipster, chill place then something tourists may want to call home.I enjoyed our visit here. Good beer and adequate bitterballen. We even got some sunshine in the late fall afternoon. The location is awesome. On a busy street so great for people and cycle watching. Larger space inside too. I’m sure they get very busy and the Dutch don’t deliver the food as quickly as they do in the US. Since you’re in Amsterdam, just try to relax.

Quite possibly one of the best Burgers Ive had, even the chips were Banging! Which is very rare for restaurants thea days.. lovely house beer also 👍👍👍👍👍

What an experience. A place worth visiting with friends. It is worth the time to spend. I really want to advice people to visit this place. Cozy but i hope the workers will have more interpersonal skills. I ordered a drink with my friend. But it seems that they didnt gave us the right order. I hope the management will recalibrate their workers and enable them to be competent to handle order and not make things hastily.

Lovely place and good atmosphere. Have been there a few times and their staff (although most of them friendlyseem very chaotic and uncoordinated the last few times. Three different servers at the table asking about drinks and still ending up waiting for half an hour for the first round (when the place is half empty). It was exactly the same the last time. In the end we got double charged for the first round. Food is good and place is nice but I hope they put some sort of system in place.

Nice place for drinks and eat after work (if you find a table, better to book). Nice place with nice service and quality. Not a place to go you want a quite drink/dinner. Its usually packed with lively people... Me included 😁

The best cafe in Amsterdam. We stopped in twice over 2 days. Super friendly staff and great food! Make it a point to stop in for a burger and a pint.

I had 5days in Amsterdam in September , as fate would have it .I had to eat almost every meal here.I was really lucky , de Ebeling is just wonderful . A large amount of patrons were locals , a good selling point . All the staff spoke some English , and very nice to deal with . Right down to helping explain the menu for me . Try the Amsterdam Hotdog , never had I enjoyed a hotdog so much . Tried different meal each visit , never a complaint all tasty . Try the pizza its Dutch style , so different so nice .On top of all that the prices , are well below the rest of Amsterdam Ive been too .Turns in to a popular night club later in the evening . Plus super clean 😊 .

Weve been there for the first time. the card is in dutch but still easy to find the things you like to eat. the vegan burger (with extra cheesewas delicious and i had the best crispy fries ever! well come up again :oh and try the homemade ice tea with jasmin..mhmmmm

Nice brunch/lunch spot. A friend who lives nearby visits all the time as his go to place.We had a traditional dutch, possibly German, style pizza, a burger with the lot and a vegan bowl. All very delicious. Coffee was great too and the staff were very helpful. Each meal was about €10 each so quite reasonable.Would visit again

One of the best places in Amsterdam city to have a decent meal for great price! The Flammkuchen was amazing!!! The staff is very friendly and proactive. There is very little waiting time, but you can sit outside and chill with your friends while waiting. The place has a lot of space for seating both inside and outside, so it can host large groups as well.Tip for spicy lovers: Go for the spicy Flammkuchen 😉

Nice spot on the overtoom. Good for after work drinks for groups and lunch in the sun too. I had the pastrami and tryffle mayo flamkucchen and the smashed avocado and egg (with baconopen sandwich. Both very tasty. The staff were really nice and the tunes are tyypically good. Really solid spot for me and my work friends.

Great bar; decent prices, good amount of snack food and several variations of gin and tonic. Atmospheric lighting and friendly bar staff offer an all round enjoyable experience.If you fancy a drink and are near then go for it, also theyve got a decent amount of outdoor seating.

We loved this restaurant. We rarely go to the same restaurant twice on vacation but we went to this restaurant twice! The drinks are great! I had the burger and my husband had the tuna melt both were amazing! Great service, friendly staff, & delicious food!

Always very busy. 2 years ago i made a reservation for my birthday for around 50 people 3 months ago, and the place they provided was for like, 20 people max. They said we could expand as other tables leave but whats the point of a reservation then? All in all, overrated, much nicer places are there.

Super fun place for a night out in Amsterdam! We were lucky to stay in hotel right opposite Cafe de Ebeling which became our night cap! Great music albeit super packed. Good spot to dance your dinner away!

Had our first meal here after arriving in Amsterdam and continued to do so regularly for the almost 4 years we lived there. Burgers are amazing. Staff is nice. Loved to sit outside during summer and have one of their delicious Flammkuchen. Keep it up!

Yummy food - decently priced.

Nice little local bar. Great burgers and a good beer selection. Outside seating on the pavement, and its got a lively atmosphere. Really good for a quick bite or an evening drink outside.

I had an amazing burger here with a prawn patty and kimchi. Its really good to see something a little different and creative on the menu as far as burgers are concerned. Also had a G&T here which was very good. The gin selection is this place is pretty good btw. Staff were friendly and service was relatively quick. Also, they have tables outside which is great on a warm day.

Decent cafe/pub to go for drinks and/or food with a lively atmosphere in the evenings. They serve a nice selection food and also pints (which seems to be rarer in Amsterdam)! Large choiceof alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks, lunch and dinner food. Although there isnt a translated English menu available like most other places in Amsterdam, you just might need to use Google Translate! Other than that, its worth a visit if youre looking for somewhere nice outside of the centre.

Nice chilled out pub/cafe. Nice selection of drinks. Good pub grub menu and really nice atmosphere with friendly staff. A good choice to visit if you are in the local area and a nice place to have a lazy Saturday lunch.

Amazing place to go out, very lively, great music, 2 bars one big and one smaller, wide selection of cocktails, gins & tonics, you can also order various snacks. Very gezzelig! Truly a Dutch place to hang out. Good for birthday celebrations, you can book a place.

Good!!we had steak salad , burger and salmon toast.all was really good and the price is really worth it! each around 10-12 €!the staffs are cool and friendly! really recommend it to stop by!the only issue was my mon didnt like smoked salmon and prefer warm sandwich and they didnt have any english menu and the girl translated it for us, so we didnt know it wasnt warm! but they didnt change it and just tell her it smoked and raw ! ( normally in US they will change it specially if they didnt have proper menuany way, she ate and like it even she doesnt prefer it . :)

Stumbled across this place by accident on our first day in Amsterdam. We were given an excellent recommendation for a Dutch beer to try, and tried a delicious cheese platter. Excellent service in impeccable English.

A great casual restaurant, one of my favourites in Amsterdam. Some good beers available. Nice outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. Reassuringly busy without being uncomfortably crowded. Menu offers a good selection of very tasty food, and everything we have ordered was cooked perfectly. Portions were generous. Prices are very fair. A great place for dinner and a few drinks.

Having outdoor seating, this place is buzzy on warm summer days, especially after work.The food has consistently been good here. One of the best burgers around and the fries are done properly crunchy on the outside. You dont have dig for those delicious little crispy ones, because even the full sized pieces are perfect!The beer selection is full of the nicest usual suspects.. Wines are also very nice.

My buddy and I both enjoyed our flatbreads which were pretty huge in size to be a "late night snack". We sat at the bar and befriended the bartender who was friendly, made good recommendations for beers and food. Fun atmosphere and good enough volume to hold a conversation. Definitely would go back!
