Café Zydeco in Bozeman

The food was good. My wife and I both had the shrimp and grits. It was a little different from what we have had elsewhere. The shrimp was fried and the grits were actually grit cakes but it was good and not too spicy. One of our sons had the jambalaya and the other had fish and fries and they were both good. They have a bar area but unfortunately no longer serve alcohol. Its counter service and you get your own drinks.

Up front cashier was very kind and let us take our time asking about the menu. The food was amazing!! We left feeling perfectly full! We got the grilled catfish taco and crawfish poboy!

You go to the front, order and they bring it to your table. The cashier was lovely and helpful. She recommendedThe po boy. I am not big on bread so I didn’t follow her up on it. I had the jambalaya. It had a really nice spice to it. It comes with piece of baguette. You don’t taste the spice right away, it’s more of a slow burn. I would come back here again.

It was ok. The food is great. Its so understaffed that the service is terrible. I couldnt get a glass of water or a fork without being pushy, which I wasnt so I didnt get either. If Im gonna spend $15 on a sandwich, Ill think twice.

There are so many options here, the atmosphere is great and the donuts are amazing!Great place to come for breakfast and lunch. 😃

Whoa on the food. We tried the Seafood Gumbo and Jambalaya. Both were very tasty. One suggestion: Adding tamarind to the Gumbo would take it up a notch!

The grilled cheese here is DELICIOUS! 10/10! If you get the chance, go there!

I’ve had their food in the past and it was okay. Yes, i said it. It was okay. It was food.Also, the sandwich in the picture is supposed to be a Reuben. In the description, they put it all on a French roll not Rye bread. It also doesn’t taste like a Reuben. When you first get it, it looks like all of the ingredients were mixed together. The put too much sauerkraut so the mixture is just watery.

Lunch special (gumbo w Philly chicken sandwichwith waffle fries were all fantastic. Better gumbo than most places in LA.

It is clear from the long line on a Wednesday at 11:15 that people think Cafe Zydeco is good. I’d have to agree! The food was fresh and service was kind. Sandwiches were loaded with meat and toppings. The fries were hot and came in generous portions, too. This is a great spot in Bozeman to eat.

How could you give this place anything but 5 stars the po boys are legendary.I will leave Bozeman if this place ever closes!

Simply amazing! The food is excellent and the decoration is incredible!You should choose and pay for your meal at your arrival, which may give one little time to choose among the variety of Food, but as everything is delicious, you wont make a bad choice. The meals are large, easily sharable.

After 20 years of visiting this restaurant, I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. This food speaks directly to my heart. Can I please stay here forever? I will work for food.

Cafe Zydeco!!! Oh my gosh! Definetly one of my favorite places to go to. The food there is always fresh, hot, and made with love, care, and passion. If soul food had to be labeled, I would give that title to Zydeco. 10 out of 10 would recommend the cheese steak.

Cafe zydeco is by far my favorite lunch spot in Bozeman! The food, the atmosphere are truly unique to Bozeman and executed perfectly.The aioli they put on their po boys and sandwiches is to die for! I always get a fried shrimp or crawfish Po boy and it always hits the spot. Unfortunately they dont come with a side of fries but most of the time I dont need them for a satisfying meal (although they are so good I order them anyways).The service is consistent and wait times are usually pretty short unless they are slammed. The only gripe I have with this spot is their hours, but in times like these its understandable that they dont have the staff to stay open later.

The best option youll get for Cajun in Bozeman! Always absolutely delicious - the fried green tomato BLT is my new hangover food favorite!

Great food but the woman at the register and serving the food seemed bothered and had a slight attitude. Will go back for the food though.

I always enjoy coming to this place between their poor boys and their shrimp and grits. It is the best Cajun restaurant a round.

I just ate here again after a long period of time of not eating at Cafe Zydeco. Not for any particular reason, just kind of forgot about it..Anyway, its SO good. I am now making this place one of my "regular eateries".

Who would have thought here in the snowy Montana, there is this authentic southern food cafe. We ordered a lobster roll, a seafood gumbo and a crawfish etouffee, every single one is 5 out of 5. Since We arrived 4pm in a Friday afternoon, there are only two other tables here, I can see how packed this place can be when its dinner time since the food is too good for its price. Highly recommended.

This is where I get my Gumbo on!! Always have to stop and have me a bowl when I come through town. Its the closest thing Ive found that reminds me of home and the best thing is they are doing the cooking.

The food here is so bomb. We keep coming back. Great service and such incredible flavor. The fried catfish is to die for! Yum!

This place is so good …. An elder lady who served us was really very nice and sweet and their sandwiches they all taste so good … I ordered shrimp PO boy the shrimp was grilled to perfection the crunchiness was so perfect ! And their homemade spread was super! The gut buster was delish too!Try this place you will not regret it :Too bad that they really need help though …. We weren’t able to try their coffee but we will be back this Saturday to try it :)

Always awesome. We normally do pick up orders and it only takes 15 minutes. Food is consistently good and the portions sizes are great (large has plenty for leftovers).

This used to be our favorite restaurant but in the past few year the prices are going up and the quality and quantity going down. I used to only eat half a sandwich and be full but now I am still hungry after eating one tiny sandwich full of lettuce.

Being from New Orleans I had to check this restaurant out. Their house salad was delicious and their Jambalaya was excellent. A hint of cumin took the spiciness to the next level. Highly recommend.

Let me tell you,If you decide to eat here, it means you are on the right path in life.Ive eaten their food on a date, with friends, with my dog on the river, in the grass at the park, and in their parking lot. I even went through airport security and ate a sandwich on a flight.Anywhere, anytime with anyone these sandwich can be eaten.Warning: It can be messy with how animalistic you will want to devour the food.Good prices, variety of choices, great service.

Catfish goujons were on point!!!! I can’t wait to go back and get some oysters, and try a po-boy! Sorely needed southern-food fix here in SW Montana. Service was quick, and the food was served piping hot with a smile. Well done!!!

Our family has been going to Cafe Zydeco for several years and they never disappoint! Authentic cajun/creole food and atmosphere, excellent service, topped off with an order of bread pudding or the famous beignets! We love Cafe Zydeco!

Delicious! So many options, it was hard to choose. Consoled myself that wed come back for lunch the next day, but for some reason the Saturday before MSU starts back up for the year (when all of us out of town parents and kids are here to eat but the out-of-town kids havent started their back to school jobs yetthere was an hour wait and we were too hungry to wait that long. Oh well. Next summer Ill be back to try more options!

Hardy delicious food. Family says always stop here after the ride from the airport. Had Red Beans and Rice, Fried Catfish Cajun Taco (think giant wrap), and then I had the 🌱 Veggie Pita Wrap. All were huge and delicious.We also each got an order of fries, which is large, and can definitely be shared if you want to finish your main meal.

I was looking for something special to try in Bozeman. Google recommend me the lobster roll, and Caffe Zydeco was the closest on the way.Very tasty! Fresh and soft. It might be a little too salty for me, but not too much.I was craving this roll for the next three days in Yellowstone. On the way back, stop again.

The food was okay. We were traveling through and love cajun so I was super excited to try this place considering they ranked so high. I was bummed out. I have definitely had better cajun back home and across the country. The cashier was super unhelpful and not welcoming at all. Overall I gave it a 2 bc it was okay but everything else just made it eh. It also was a bit expensive. Just a heads up. A large is a LARGE. When I asked about sizes I didnt get an answer. Lol Im so bummed!

Was traveling and looking for good food at reasonable price. This is both. Got Cajun pasta with shrimp and crawfish. My son & I could have shared a large portion. Took lots of food back & had a second meal. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Its where I wanted to go for my birthday. They even have gluten free bread and served me a special dessert for my birthday. My whole family comes back here again and again for the food and for the hospitality. I cant speak highly enough of this place.

Absolutely amazing! Tried the new item, their take on a lobster roll... And I was blown away. I couldnt even see the bread underneath, it was a huge mountain of deliciousness.

I had not been to this cafe for a decade, but still craved their food. I drove 3 1/2 hours to Bozeman, visited the museum of the Rockies, and then headed to Cafe Zydeco. I had my heart set on the oyster poor boy, but it was not on the menu board. I asked if I could get it anyway, and they said, "Of course." It was delicious, just like I remembered. I also got jambalaya and seafood soup to have after the 3 1/2 hour drive home. Totally worth it!

Great food at a reasonable price. Cant wait to go back for lunch again soon. Building has a lot of charm and is decorated with Cajun music paraphernalia. Staff is warm and helpful. Great place to stop by or just pick up to go.

I have eaten lunch before, and enjoyed that, but a friend recommended their beignets (french doughnutwhich was delightful! They are like a scone, hollow with a dusting of powdered sugar. The breakfast sandwich I got was packed full of delicious flavor. This is one of those places off my beaten path and then when I get back in there, I wonder why I havent been back sooner! I recommend everyone give it a try!

The Pasta Zydeco is absolutely amazing! I own a fine dining restaurant and I am absolutely going to steal this for my place. My girlfriend had the fried green tomato BLT which was also delicious. It had a nice combination of smokey and spicy to top off the fried green tomatoes for this fantastic twist on the American classic.

Holy cow, this place was an "accidental find" for me but am I ever glad I did. The food was amazing (if a bit messy in the best possible way). The atmosphere and dining room were comfy and fun with a pot-belly stove warming the bar dining area and spacious tables and booths without the place feeling "empty". Now I need to find another reason to get back to Bozeman sooner than later just so I can stop back by.

After reading all the positive reviews, we had pretty high expectations for our lunch here. There was a super sweet lady who took our order... She was a doll. Prices were extremely reasonable... Everything was nice & clean. BUT, the food was “just okay”, in our opinion. I had the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo and the Hubby had a Reuben Sandwich. Maybe it’s us, because from looking at the reviews of others, the food is usually raved about, but we thought it was very mediocre, at best.

Love the fried bayou po boy with sweet potato fries! Red beans and rice is also good. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend!

Amazing food. Place does a lot of take out so the dining area was pretty empty. We sat in front of a fire place on a chilly night. Personally I haven’t had much cajun food, but the food was seasoned perfectly. Also all the food is cooked fresh as they were able to remove sausage from my dish.If we return to the area, we’ll definitely be back!

This place is by far and away the BEST Cajun food Ive ever eaten. The atmosphere is fun and funky and the food is to die for. We havent had anything on the menu we didnt like. Theres something for everyone, even my picky kids LOVE Cafe Zydeco! Spicy food isnt my favorite - but their "swamp sauce" is the perfect blend of spices. This is it guys, dont miss it. Its INCREDIBLE!
