Very rude staff im a doordasher and happend to have 1 order then another 1 popped up and I accepted it well the staff was very rude and told me I canr accept more then 1 order for the restaurant and was also told there is so many other dasher that can take it so unprofessional and rude

The food is always great, but everything tastes very similar as if theyre throwing the same seasonings into every sandwich.The beignets are one of the best things on the menu outside of the cajun fries (as well as the rest of the fried veggies). The Bayou Poboy is another go-to as it is always fresh and light tasting. However, be warned if you go on a busy day theres a chance your shrimp and crayfish items can get to you a little tough in texture.The front staff never seem friendly or as though theyre warm in any way. Every single time Ive eaten there they look as though they cant be bothered. The never ceasing grimace from the lady up front is the only thing keeping this great place a star shy from being a 5 star experience.

I would not suggest delivery from this restaurant. Not only do they not care about the food you order from them, they were rude to me when asked about the food I was waiting on for 25 minutes. When the man came out with the order he threw it in my face and told me to not come back and was going to report me to the company I deliver for!!!

I get that you guys make everything from scratch and your food is wonderful. On the other hand being a door dasher and having to wait 30+ minutes for an order is ridiculous. If you cant keep up with the demand of delivery then you should rethink having delivery.

Staff was so very helpful in explaining the various dishes. So good!!! Actually took some jambalaya as a takeout to have the next day.

Good food at a reasonable price. Minimal staff, but food arrived fairly quickly. It is a "get your own beverage" type of place. Plenty of food to eat though!

The best Cajun outside of Louisiana and a top contender for my all-time favorite Cajun restaurants.

Catfish Po’boy was breaded lightly, and the fish was crisp and meaty. The Chicken & Sausage gumbo has an awesome tasting broth, and has plenty of chicken and sausage.Thanks for a great dinner!

Excellent food! The seafood gumbo is a must and the Big Easy po boy is tasty as well. I highly recommend this place. 5 stars isnt enough.

It was great! I had lunch and got the seafood gumbo to go for dinner. Was on a business trip. They brought gumbo out just before I left.

Great cajun food, my husbands catfish po boy was amazing. I had expected my Bayou Po boy to be a bit heavier spiced like his but all in all it was great and the seafood flavor was there. I will be returning.

Very casually laid back, with, plenty of spacious seating available for a smaller establishment.The food seems to be made fresh and always smells enticing.

Totally authentic Cajun food. My husband absolutely loves it and he grew up on the Louisiana border so he knows good Cajun.

Honestly, its okay. I lived in the deep south for many years and was excited to try this, albeit skeptical given the strong "back the blue" vibes that made me doubt if they were going to really honor the cultural traditions theyre profiting on. Unfortunately I think I was right; it seems sort of watered down to meet a more northern, homogenized clientele which I really wish restaurants would stop doing. The spicy food is spicy, but still somehow underseasoned for my taste. Everything is just kind of okay, but missing the soul I missed from southern food. The restaurant itself feels like a chain-style commercial parody of Louisiana kitch with no authenticity or heart behind it, like it was decorated by people whove been there maybe but didnt really understand what it was all for. Really hopeful that the new influx of out of state residents will bring us some more authentic food options, but this sadly isnt it.

Best food in all of Helena. Flavorful, delicious, and friendly service. I’ve had about 1/2 the menu and loved it. Portions are big enough to share or have leftovers too.

On a road trip driving through, so thankful to stop here..one of the BEST meals we had on a 10 day road trip & we picked high end restaurants in Jackson WY etc.. this place beat em! Friendly service & again such TASTY food! I had some shrimp & grits & my husband had catfish étouffée I believe.

All anyone needs to know is they have the best cajun food in montana! we WILL be back next time we are in helena. Nice atmosphere too!

This is Louisiana Mississippi combined up here in Helena Montana I cant describe how much I love the food here especially the seafood gumbo and crawfish po-boy combo oh my gosh it is good. The staff is very likable and the atmosphere is very congenial. And they sell incredible coupons during Christmas time,

Food is amazing. I had hushpuppies and gumbo, and having grown up in Louisiana the flavors were homey and wonderful. The only thing that I had a problem with was how much political back the blue propoganda they had ALL OVER their restaurant. I did not come to Cafe Zydeco to be barraged with pro-police Republican political beliefs. I came there to eat good food, no politics at all. I will probably not be going there again as the propoganda was just overwhelming and everywhere. Which is too bad because the food really is good.

Oyster po boy was good, as were one order of the fried green tomatoes. The other order of fried green tomatoes were not nearly as flavorful, tasted a bit like they sat for awhile, and looked much less appealing. Red beans and rice were not traditional or very good, basically just whole beans on rice, not the typical mix of puréed and whole beans per NOLA. The beignets were very light and tasty.

Absolutely loved this place! Wasnt expecting to find such a gem in Helena MT. The most authentic flavor of cajun cuisine Ive had outside of New Orleans! I truly enjoyed the seafood gumbo and my husband loved the " something? Cobb salad". Although I would have liked a bit more zip to my dish it was still very yummy! I would highly recommend making a stop here if ever passing through!

Being from Baton Rouge, my expectations of cajun cooking are very high and Cafe Zydeco delivered. The food and atmosphere is great,, the service was exceptional and I had a great time with my family in this establisment.

This place is amazing. The food is out standing. So far weve had the gumbo, pasta zydeco, All That Jazz Po Boy, fried green tomatoes and best of all the best tasting alligator bites. The staff is very friendly too.

Absolutely 💯Love their food and their Beignet!!!Unfortunately one of the ladies who works there recommended the Bread pudding...I most said "it should be illegal to serve that" Im sure it has 1000 calories in every bite and once you try it you can stop eating it😛

Depends on the day, or cook of the day. Take your chances. Not consistent. Atmosphere is fantastic. Staff are friendly and professional. Sadly, Ive had a few five star experiences with the menu, Ive also had one star experiences. Thus the three star review. I keep going back in hopes of another five star experience!!

I ordered a big easy sandwich for delivery, and when I sat down at work to eat, I found a sandwich with sausage, tomatoes and lettuce with vinaigrette. And while that makes for a pretty good sandwich, it was neither what I wanted, nor what I ordered:/ this is, however, the first time I have encountered this issue Cafe Zydeco, so I dont believe it will be an ongoing issue. Other than this mixup, the food is good and well portioned especially for the price...

Me and my boyfriend were visiting helena and wanted to try something new. We both were happy we came and visited this place to eat! The staff are awesome and treat you like family ; youll leave this place feeling better and grateful! They have some pretty cool signs and decor ;in other words the atmosphere is enjoyable for sure .Portions wasnt too little but just right !!!

Great food with great customer service! Gumbo is my dtrs favorite and we can not pass up the shrimp and grits!! Both are amazing!! I love the hush puppies and the cajun fries with sauce are fantastic!!

I enjoyed my first meal here! Tried the chicken gumbo and half of the All That Jazz Po Boy. The sandwich was served at a room-like temperature but was still really good. I also had hushpuppies. I left full. It was all good flavors, nice staff, and a unique decor, so I will definitely be back! ^_^

They moved to a new place dont know about their old place but this place is great pretty much one of a kind in Helena Montana I wanted a sandwich they recommended All that Jazz it was great loved it, loved the shrimp and sausage the sandwich wasnt dry or to much bread. My fiance ordered a small plate of the Jambalaya and if thats their small plate would love to see their big plate because it was a lot for a small plate and delicious and the spice was something I could handle had good heat but not too spicy for us Montanas, they have so much more that sounds tasty and am going to go their again and again and I will post some pictures. A little bit of some New Orleans or deep South in Montana maybe not quite like the real deal cause Im sure you could only get that there but still very tasty and different from any other place in Helena love it! Their Cajun seasoning fries are amazing as well.

Hands down one of the best lunch places in this town. The food is full of life and flavor. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is clean. I usually get orders to go from here and I love the way they package my orders with care. I wish they were open for dinner!

OMG, this place is the best! Everything we have tried is delicious. The employees are great, the atmosphere is inviting and the signs are hilarious. My only wish is that there was a Cafe Zydeco in Great Falls. Remember - get a jambalaya to take home. You wont be sorry! Oh, and dont forget to get the beignets for dessert!!

What an amazing place! Great food and great service. I am lactose intolerant and they mistakenly told me that the seafood gumbo has butter in it. I ordered a sandwich. She realized it didn’t have dairy in it and brought me soup so I wouldn’t miss out on a delicious gumbo and refunded my meal! Outstanding service and yummy food!

The place I go when Im craving crawfish etouffee! A bit on the spicy side, this may not be for everybody. The portions are large, enough to gorge yourself, have leftovers, or share with a friend. Their decor is uniquely theirs, and I think they did a fine job on it! Still other things I want to try on the menu, definitely worth checking out.

This place is a Helena gem! Great authentic Cajun food and a large menu to keep you coming back for more. Super friendly staff and funky atmosphere. Take away is a good option for solo customers and is pretty quick. Don’t miss out!

This has been long been a favorite place for us, but the last 3 trips have been disappointing. Food as always fantastic, but service has really dropped off. Within the last 3 visits, once they just forgot to make our food. We waited 30 minutes and then went back to the counter and they acted like it was on me. They did comp us a free meal on our next visit. Went back, and they got our order wrong, and had a dismissive attitude about it. This last visit was today. We ordered and paid for a side of hush puppies, and they forgot to bring them out. When I questioned them on it, they said I hadnt ordered them. Had to show them my receipt and have them recheck their copy before they took care of it. Service used to be so good, not sure what happened, but it was our last visit.

This food is amazing, I have never ordered anything i didnt like! There is outdoor seating, and they offer Big Sky sodas! Service is always great, and portions are well priced and big! Dont forget to order the hot, fresh, sugar topped beignets (pictured)! Also pictured are Cajun chips, a French dip sandwich and jambalaya.

Food is decent. I wouldnt go so far as to call it great as it isnt quite up to par with other restaurants of the same type. It seems most of the food is prepared in advance, but they do fairly good at keeping it tasting fresh for the most part. Amazing service for military customers, and they offer free soft drinks for all past and current service members. Would recommend for a quick bite.

I wanted to like this gumbo but half a bottle of hot sauce later I could still barely eat it. It needs way more spices and flavor!! It was alright but so bland. The service is excellent and very friendly. Willing to give this another try if they step up their flavoring.
