Café Schinkelwache - Cafe in Haselbachtal, Germany
This restaurant is not friendly to foreigners. I went with group of friends and showed vaccine from Canada, and she did not accept claiming it’s not original. I have been to many German restaurants and never had this issue. The cafe across the street is much friendlier and you should go there!
Small coffee place next to the museum quarter. It has a good selection of cakes, coffees, chocolates, cocktails and food. It is a bit pricy maybe due to its very touristic location.
The food was decent, the service was *extremely* slow (considering how few people were seated), the prices were incredibly high compared to what you can find in the Neustadt.
Menu is a bit poor, but the location is unbelievably gorgeous and interiors match it as well. The place is historic.
Nice place and tasty sweet ice creams
Very nice traditional cafe in the heart of the old city
Very friendly and quick service. Great selection of cakes and local specialties. Great view on the opera
Schinkel grüßt vom Bild an der Wand, wir danken ihm für diesen Bau mit Tradition!(Translated by Google)I was happy to come back today after 5 years, again received a friendly welcome and served! The Dresden specialty "egg pancake" is delicious to enjoy here, whether outside under large umbrellas or in the cozy dining room. Schinkel greets from the picture on the wall, we thank him for this building with tradition!
Love it
Very nice coffee, sat outside with amazing view of the opera house
Delicious cakes.
Good good, excellent service, perfect location. I recommend.
Great place for a coffe and cake after a walk around the zwinger. Its right next to the picturesque altstadt and feels like a mini palaxe inside too. Really great cakes. Commendable service. A little bit expensive but understandable for the location and interiors. They do have nice outdoor sitting with view of the Zwinger.
Very good food and wine, and great service!
One of the best coffees I have ever tasted. So good, we ordered another cup after the first one. The place is expensive but worth one visit. The staff could have been friendlier. The cake was okay.
8 months ago we went on a tour in Europe and visited 8 countries, the experience was amazing until we walked into this cafe. We said hello to the 3 waitresses and asked for a table but no one answered. Instead, they all walked away and went to the back. We stayed there for nearly 2minuts and they were talking to each other and act like we are not there. Then I thought maybe we just find a place to sit and thats how it should work in here. So, we sat and quickly one of them came over cleaned the table and took the menus with herself. I was totally shocked by whats happening. The kind of hatred in their eyes and the look on their faces was indescribable. By the way, this was my first visit to Germany, I thought to myself these people must be the *eo-*azi or something and at this point, I started feeling scared and my hands were shaking. The other customers noticed this and didn’t react or say anything, just watching. I quickly asked my friend to leave as soon as we can. We walked out and didnt look back!! We left Germany in the same day.
After a long walk through the town of Dresden, I discovered Cafe Schinkelwache. It was perfectly located within a courtyard with picturesque views and provided a great latte with some fresh apple strudel. The staff were friendly and the prices was very reasonable.
Great
Good Eierschecke!
В общем, однозначно советую это место к посещению!(Translated by Google)Very tasty and not expensive! Located in the historic city center. The cafe is very cozy, a real New Years atmosphere. Candles burn around☺️ prompt service and friendly staff. We ordered chicken soup, goulash and beer. The portions are actually very large. You can ask to divide the dish into two and arrange on different plates. In general, I definitely recommend this place to visit!
The eierschecke is good
Lovely place to enjoy a drink and soup on a cold day!
Super pastry
Nice and friendly staff, but take card if u buy more than 10 euro 😐
Nice restaurant with a solid menu. A lot to choose from. Staff was good and was able to get through my English. The only German I know is “Ein Bier bitte”. I had stuffed cabbage Saxony style which wasn’t as good as my Polish wife’s stuffed cabbage, but was quite good. I’d come back and bring friends and family.
Found this place to be rather good even though it was as busy as it was. Maybe it was because the weather was cold and rainy and it was my first time to Dresden? Good service considering how bust they were and I ate alot and thus enjoyed myself.
We enjoyed lunch here. Service was good and food came out promptly even though it was busy. I enjoyed the Baileys Iced Coffee and the Veal with Root Vegetables. My husband had the white hot chocolate (a bit sweet for himand the chicken crepe which was really excellent. The building was tastefully decorated and the classical music made for a nice atmosphere.
Sublime view of the Theaterplatz. On the other hand, the service was disastrous... the waitress was as physically disgusting as she was unwelcoming. Really unpleasant. When we left (because we had been waiting for half an hour for drinksshe MADE AN OBSCENE GESTURE behind our back... In short, I am so dismayed that I will refrain from saying more... Place to avoid.
The young waitresses are nice but the old meatless lady waitress in glasses is absolutely rude. She is definitely ugly and destroy my feelings of Dressing. They earn money more than provide good service.
We liked this place as one of the best in Dresden. Nice menu
Lovely environment and friendly efficient staff with alot of dresdenian options! Definitely a nice stop for a coffee and cake break after visiting the Zwinger
Nice and cozy caffe right at the Zwinger Palace. We were only surprised by the high prices of water - one bottle costs 7 euros!
Excellent cafe, very good tasting dishes. The apple shtrudel was delicious! Great service.
Very good products and cakes. Excellent service.
Ok
For a break in an original building of the famous architect Schinkel, a nice tea room with the local speciality Porzellantorte. Next to Zwinger and Semper opera.
Elegant decor and cakes and pastries to die for.Definitely worth a visit when you are in Dresden
It was all right, but we were surprised why the hell it is something recommended in a guide. It is nothing really special. The staff was nice.
Nice place
It was nice and the service also Good!! The cake and coffee are on point! I like the cappuccino ♡♡ the waitress also speaks English well so its nice for traveller ♡And above all the interior design is super fancy!!!
Now this one is some story, but to make it short. This was the only place open at a late night hr. The place is well designed, if ur into classic heavy. We were the only ones with no suit and tie and also the youngest of all (significantly younger). Saying that the place is very welcoming, nice vibe and reasonable coffee and 🍰 s. The prices are very fair
Good location. Free Wifi. Delicious Eierschecke.
Lovely place to visit...Food was delicious and yes...the place is so nice!!!!!!You will not regret indeed :)We had a bowl of soup, omelette (you can ask itand a german pork dish!Hope to visit very soon
Great spot to rest a bit with some sugar refilled
When you visit Dresden you would be a fool notto visit this wonderful cafe. Not only are you treated like an old guest. But I can guaranteeyou will put on weight just looking at thesedelicious cakes. They also have a menu tosuit everyone.
Dont go here. Waitress was very very rude.
Vera Good.
Very nice little cafe with great location and delicious food! Service was kind and quick! The hot chocolate is wunderbar!
Good coffee, charming place with good service, but way too expensive! 10e for two espressos?!
Very cosy café with reasonable prices. We liked both cakes that we tasted.
