Cafe Ole - Mexican restaurant in Boise, United States
Food was good, drinks great and service was not bad.
The waitress, Stephanie placed a hot kids meal right in front of my daughter without warning of the plate being hot. My sons California burrito had no rice and beans, when mentioned in the menu that it came with it. My wife ordered the fish tacos and didnt like the Chipotle sauce paired up with them. Our server disappeared for 15 minutes due to being understaffed. When we asked for a new sauce the food was cold and sad by this point. The server had an excuse for everything and didnt reach out to management because we were clearly not happy. We let her know that we didnt like the fish tacos so she compted the N/A drinks which cost the company little to no money. She should have offered to recook the meal or comp the meal.... something. I paid, but I felt cheated, so I spoke to management to let him know how poor the service and food really was. I usually dont do that but this experience was terrible. The manager ended up comping my wifes meal and we left unhappy.
Wonderful service but the food was heavy and very so so flavor wise. They also messed up on the bill which we didnt catch until after we left. Just double check your bill before paying
Always good food and sevice most of the time. It was really busy the day we went so our waitress was hard to catch up with. But we still tipped her well. She was trying hard!
The food was good!!! I love their little mini chimichangas!!!!
The salsa! Go for the salsa!! Great Chimmis. Great enchiladas! Great service!!
Bad food, high prices and bad service, wont return!
Food was amazing and the atmosphere perfect.
Had the fish tacos which I usually love but they had a funny taste to them told waitress they said no one else has complained this week brought me my bill left my money and uneaten food . Had upset stomach for the rest of the day hope just a one time occurrence. I usually eat at the one on Milwaukee never had a issue.
The appetizer plate was huge and fed 3 of us with leftovers! They kept my cup full and food came out fast. Highly recommend!
Was very disappointed this visit and its sad as its been always one my favorite Mexican food Restaurants. It was a different location than we
$2 beer during happy hour, cant beat that! Food was great, service was great.
Fast seating. Delicious chips, beans and salsa. Everyone was happy with food and service. Its been a while between visits but glad i made it back. Make sure you go early because they arent open past 830 a lot.
Older feel to the restaurant. Not much ambiance. Menu prices are diffantly higher than our last visit.Ordered the nachos. They were yummy! . Service was good.....
The staff here is always so kind! Food is amazing and they make a delicious margaritas amongst all their other cocktails. One our favorite places to eat!
The waiter was very courteous and prompt and the food and drinks were good.
Weve been there at the first time. It looks like a popular place to have lunch or dinner. The food is tasty, the service is good
The people there are great great service but my rice and beans were luke warm and cold my beef was different in my tacos so i got just two enchiladas each and paid 19.00 for only four but the enchiladas were great !
Food was excellent and service was wonderful there was 9 of us and our waitress was right on top of everything.
Great place have dinner with the family or have a meeting. Theyre salsa and chips are awesome! Last time I was there great server too.
Great food. We had a very large group and they accommodated us without any problems. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs. I would recommend this place.
This is what I would call fresh mex.Servers are on point and very professional. The layout of the dinning room is great for privacy or joining lots of friends. The food is very good and quick to the table. Price is a tad on the high side, but well worth it. Clean and Fresh is Café Ole
Been here a couple times, great place to go with family. The last time I went I ordered the fish tacos. They were great! The waitress was a good sport and even took a pucture for us! If you dont want to have a long wait this is a place is Fabuloso!
Sticky table was rough out the gate tonight. Chips, salsa and beans were tasty as always with rd2 of salsa delivered without request, nice attentive service. Entrees were Vegetarian burrito and a seafood chimi, both very good. Grilled butterflied shrimp salad was real tasty.True rating of 4.4, gotta wipe down sticky tables with a clean hot rag or pay in rating.
Our server, Angela, was fantastic. She made it a fun experience. I havent been to a Cafe Ole in years, but the Street Nachos were just as good as I remembered them to be. Great spot for a casual meal, close enough to The Village but not right in the chaos.
Cafe Ole is our family favorite. The food is amazing and the service is so great. Our server was attentive, accurate when we requested anything special, and hilarious to boot. My meal was HUGE and delicious. I definitely over-ate because I couldnt stop, and I still had leftovers to bring home! Love it!
Fantastic service! Delicious Food. I had the Enchilada Azteca. It was a good sized portion. They were huge for the price! Definitely an affordable place to go eat!
Luv this place!!! Always fresh n really good🖤
Definitely a good experience. Our waitress, a woman with black hair, met our every need, constantly making sure we got refills and whatnot. The food was great, the whole family left happy.
Friendly server and staff. The place was almost empty when we dined mid-afternoon 1430-1500.Our food was served super fast in less than 10minsMexican food items were great but the childs menu burger wasnt the best.
Happy hour is our normal visit. Two Cadillac Margaritas, and two Coronas for $14.00 is hard to beat.We have gotten dinner a couple times and were impressed. The Pacifico Burrito and the Chicken Flautas were both great. We use the Eagle Rd. location, because who wants to go near the mall during rush hour. Overall a great place.
Inattentive service from server, manager was awesome and saved the day. Food was just ok. Cheese dip had masa or a breaded filler in it and everything was overpriced. They use cheap alcohol in their Cadillac Margaritas. We wont be returning.
Was craving some bomb Mexican food, so glad we stopped here for dinner. We hung out at the bar, which happily played awesome 80s music. Service was great, and of course the food was bomb. I had the carnitas, my wife had the enchiladas. Also the chips and bean dip and salsa were legit too!
This place was great!.. Mexican food with nice and clean inside. Food came quick although we got nachos. There was enough for four to five people easily and it was delicious!
Went there for my husbands birthday dinner and the food was delicious.
This place has an amazing happy hour. What a great place to stop off and have a beer and a delicious meal while the traffic goes bonkers right outside the door. The bartender, Cristian, is seriously fantastic. He never misses a beat on what your table needs and juggles 10+ tables at a time pretty regularly. My wife and I have been coming here 1-5 times per month for the past 6 months or so and he has taken care of us perfectly every time.
They were far from authentic Mexican food. A huge disappointment. This place didnt even use real cheese. They put this so called cheese sauce which tasted more water down nacho cheese and Condense milk 🤮.. My family n I will never return to this Cafe Ole. Hands down the Boise one is in every way better!
Tried this location for the first time. I thought the portions for the prices were very generous! And the food was tasty. I had the street tacos (on appetizer menuand it was more than enough for my meal. 4 for only $6.99, now thats worth going back for more!
We had lunch here yesterday. I had the blue corn tacos with grilled chicken. It was so bland and tasteless. I love Mexican food but this was just plain boring chicken. I am giving 3 stars because the service was good, we were seated promptly and food came out fast and warm.
Loved this place! Food was delicious, service was perfect!
My husband and I went in a couple of weeks ago and it was fabulous. No waiting for a table, awesome service. Love the salsa bar. The margaritas were great. We shared the street nachos with steak and they were awesome. We will definitely go back when we are in town.
Was our first time and we had a good experience. Husband and I shared the fajitas for 2. We got chicken and shrimp and really enjoyed it. The chicken was tender and the shrimp didn’t taste “fishy” it was perfect. My dad got 2 chicken enchiladas and he really enjoyed them. He also got a margarita and dang it was yummy! $7 was a little spendy for it but at least it was good.
Food is always good. Wait was a little longer today, due to a large group in for lunch. Manager made up for it with a little bigger portion for us. Great as usual. Server Diana is awesome. Always sit in her section. Dont even need the menu unless we want something different, as she remembers our drinks and usually our order. Highly recommend...
Perfect!! I was seriously needing myMexican food fix this week! Keep seeing this place, so despite not the perfect reviews, had to give it a try with my wife for a Friday night dinner. The food was great, salsa and chips awesome, drinks were well made! Happy hour rocks! Excellent and friendly service staff! We will be back!!
Excellent food and great staff. Fish tacos were amazing!!
Was the worst a month since I went last time and be longer until the next time was not busy food was incredibly slow and when it did get there was cold so done with that
Food is great and the service is good as well. Although the general feel of my experience of the restaurant just really didnt "Wow" me.Im not picky, I just think that maybe this isnt my "first choice" for going out; however, I did enjoy the food and the staff did well.I the 3/5 stars mainly just reflects my feelings on the overall presentation and the feeling I got from it.I would eat here again, and I would recommend people try it if they havent; Im just not their "Biggest" fan.
Our server Bailey as Awesome! But the Food was Horrible !! Kids burger tastes freezer burned and my husband got Nachos that were Cold and had so many Jalapenos he couldnt even pick them out we had maybe 1 ounce of steak over all of it I had a chimi and it was same size as my daughters kids bean burrito overall was not worth $50.00 !!
The food here was phenomenal. We had heard others rave about this place and finally decided to try it out for ourselves. Cafe Ole did not disappoint! While they have all of the typical Mexican staples, they go above and beyond with making the food their own.I ordered the Chimis del Pollo (I think thats how its spelled). This was not your basic Chimichanga. It was served with black beans topped with a specialty cheese. The Chimichanga, itself, was stuffed with cream cheese and came with a side of homemade habañero jelly that was unforgettable. Not really that spicy, but packed with flavor. The next time we come, well probably order a quesadilla for an appetizer, just for an excuse to order a side of jelly.Super nice staff. Only thing I wish was a little better would be a little more cognizant about drinks, but they were super patient with our children and made our experience pretty unforgettable. Definitely recommend.
Nice restaurant and bar. Food was pretty good... but they were appearently understaffed last nite. Took a long time to get our drinks and food. If they fix this... give em another star!!!!☆☆☆+☆
