Cafe Las Marias in El Palmar

When my friend ordered “parilla” the waiter said that they don’t want to prepare parilla because it takes time and effort to prepare charcoal. Maybe they should not keep such food in the menu in the first place. Or states that “weekend only” etc.

Recommended by a friend who visited this cafe 5 years ago and let me tell you, It did not disappoint. I had the Moka Espresso Frappe and it was just what I needed after time out in the sun. The views from the cafe are gorgeous. Cafe Las Marias is accessed through a tiny side street slightly off the main road. Definitely worth the visit.

That waffle was wonderful! The pork tacos came with a good amount of guacamole. It was a good view of the lake on a rainy afternoon.

The coffee is so good here!!! There is a lot of good coffee in San Juan, but this might be my favorite.

A place where the owner is very friendly, and you can experience drip coffee of various methods and equipment. The interior was very unique and I was impressed with their own atmosphere.

This is gem, the food , the coffee , the views are all espectacular. They roast the coffee right there in the restaurant, and feels so fresh. And most of all , Maria is a special human being , she will make you feel like you are part of her family.

The best coffee we had in Guatemala! The actual place itself is so unique because it’s inside a very narrow two story building. We ended up buying coffee grounds to bring back with us too since it was so good

If you visit san juan you have to go to this cafe. We took two iced coffees that were really great. The cafeteria is really really cute, it put a smile on my face. the vista is great. I wish i had one more day to san juan to visit again the cafe and enjoy the sunset

Super café restaurant, trouvé par hasard en errant dans les rues de San Juan. Notre meilleure trouvaille depuis notre arrivée au Guatemala. Des pâtes succulentes en quantité, une hôtesse souriante et adorable et une vie à couper le souffle. Attention par contre, il ny a que 2 tables ! Allez y les yeux fermés !

Hands down best cup of coffee and breakfast I’ve had in Guatemala! Maria is the sweetest, most dedicated woman and is truly passionate about coffee. Small batches, always fresh, service with a smile. Please please if you’re in San Juan do yourself a favor and check this place out. Beautiful views, and supporting a local artisan makes it that much more beautiful.

The cutest smallest cafe. Run by a family who brew all their own coffee right there in the cafe. Only 2 tables with incredible views of the lake.

滞在中、4回も行きました。Cold brewを何人もの人から勧められて飲みましたが、本当に美味しい。ワインのような、ブランディのようななんとも言えない芳醇な味わいと香り。チーズケーキも注文したが、それも濃厚で美味しかったです。

Best coffee and lakeside view in San Juan

We stumbled by this coffee shop by accident after noticing the sign on the road. It was such a hidden gem. The coffee was great and the view was even better. Is is a super small, 2 table Café serving coffee and food. We didn’t have any food but the owner, Marco(?was very helpfully.

Tomar un buen café es un privilegio que todo Guatemalteco tenemos en esta bendita tierra del Quetzal, y mejor si es un café de alta calidad producto del trabajo de gente de corazón como el que sirven en Café Las Marías en San Juan La Laguna, Solola. Buenísimo, lo recomiendo, admirando el Lago de Atitlan.

こんなアイスコーヒー初めて飲みました！友達にすすめられて注文したのは、Cold Brew！ワインみたいに香りがすばらしくて、そのフルーティーさに驚きました！僕はコーヒー通ではないですが、明らかな違いに本当に驚きました。値段はQ20、約300円、グアテマラの街では、Q10ぐらいなのを考えるとすごく高いですが、サンファンに来たら、絶対飲んで欲しいコーヒーです！ちなみに、たまにデザートも用意されていて、僕はチーズケーキも食べました。Q15です。うまかったです。値段が高いからかお客は少なく、静かでのんびりできます。二階からはアティトラン湖が見れて景色もよいです！大絶賛ですが、それぐらい感動しました。

A beautiful tiny cafe. We sat upstairs and were able to admire the stunning view of the lake while enjoying delicious coffee that the owner grows, roasts and prepares himself!

Es un lugar con una mística sin igual. Muchos negocios se preocupan por tener la mejor vista al lago mientras se degusta de una comida o bien una bebida sea cual sea ésta. En este café a pesar se tener una vista excepcional hacia el lago, cuando uno visita el lugar, es tan acogedor que uno prefiere conversar y disfrutar del lugar. Ver la maquinaria con la que se tuesta y se muele el café para prepararlo según el método a elección, se lleva la sorpresa de un tueste ligero con el grano honey minuciosamente clasificado y preparado para todos aquellos que quieran disfrutar de un método de preparación de café llevado a la perfección. La comida tiene ese toque casero y sabor natural donde no se abusa de los condimentos y en donde los condimentos químicos han quedado excluidos.

One of those most enchanting spots on Lake Atitlán! Marcos es un maestro con el café . His family grows their own coffee and processes everything right there in their home. His techniques and coffee preparations are amazing, especially the hand press espresso. The café turco and cold brew were fantastic also. Gotta stop by if you are visiting San Juan La Laguna. Hay que visitar Café Las Marie’s cuando están en San Juan la Laguna.

Marco and his family have created the most amazing coffee experience. Top quality coffee, incredible views and the hospitality at Las Marias make it an unforegettable place.

what a lovely place! got here for breakfast which was amazing. the owner explained everything about the coffee production. his process uses far less water than normal coffee which makes it even better :)

This place is awesome, tiny little coffee shop. Great coffee, very tasty. The owner and his family do everything, from putting the seed in the soil to making and serving your coffee. This could very well be a trending coffee shop in Sydney! Loved it

Wonderful owners, excellent coffee and original recipes for some cool drinks. Oh yes, the view and music are also perfect. You can see the lake with some chill tunes.

This café is amazing. A really special experience since the owner really knows how to produce coffee, prepare it in different ways and show you how to do it. You can learn a lot and enjoy the family own coffee and roast. The cookies are great as well and the scenery is amazing. Definitely worth visiting and enjoying!
