Cafe Kif-Kif - Restaurant in Marrakech, Morocco
First: Name is now Café Medina. The food was tasty but smal portions and a bit more expensive, but that’s what you are paying for if you want to eat in this touristic area.
Chicken couscous and taijin were the most delicious one have ever got in Morocco( been in 6 different cities in morocco and ate in many different resturants).
Me and my family visited this place upon reading good reviews on Google. It took us long finding Cafe Kif-Kif as it has been renamed to Cafe Medina 2 weeks ago. So I was told on arrival that it has changed owners with the last newest review I can see is 3 weeks ago. So maybe thats why the food is not as good as other reviewers have mentioned. We have been eating at different restraunts for lunch and dinner for the past 6 days. So been to 12 different restraunts around Gueliz and Medina. The food here was the worst tasted food we have eaten. Small expensive potions. The first retaraunt that did not come with fries with the sandwiches. We have been given bread to eat at every restraunt, even the bread was the worst we have had, it was very hard, so Im not sure is it left overs from the day before which was used for our ordered sandwiches too. The tagine was small potion with barely any veg and did not taste good compared to other restraunts. We have eaten at restraunt that is higher and lower priced, this has to be the worst..You are basically paying higher priced food, for not so good food just for the good views of the mosque cause we are tourists.
It was a great experience to try this awesome Moroccan cuisine. Great taste and friendly people. This place offers a beautiful Arabic atmosphere with a great view opposite the Koutoubia Mosque.طاجين جيد جدا وشعب ودود
One of the best nus nuss ( cafe creamin Marrakesh, right around the corner from the square on the corner!
The view was so beautiful. The caffe decor was so rich in moroccan culture. I will definitely revisit this place soon.
Its a very cute restaurant with a nice view of the Koutubia mosque, nice atmosphere here but wish the food was a bit better. Limited vegetarian menu, and the vegetable tajine was very bitter, though partner said lamb tajine was good.
Very well located in the center, with view of the boulevard and the palms. Well decorated, friendly stuff. Coffee was good.
The restaurant is small , spread on first and terrace. Food is good and service is great. They also have cute kittens who want food all the time.:)We ordered tajine with kefte and sardines, both were delicious. Also avocado milk shake was delicious. And best part was the starter with 3 type of snacks. I forgot the name but check out the pics. Its located at one end of the main food street of Medina. Definitely worth a visit.
Most delicious Gazelle Horns they got here. We have been to a lot of restaurants in Marrakech but Cafe Kif Kif had the best food. Also the Ambiente was very nice. They have a beautiful roof terrace where you can see the big mosque. I would recommend to make a reservation if you want to save a seat on the roof terrace. The staff was very friendly.
Excellent food and service. The best Tagine Ive had so far. Friendly people and good prices.
PROS. beautiful views, cheap prices, decent food. CONS. They gave us a used bread basket (bread had bites in it), they gave us a dirty unwashed spoon, they laughed both things off but I was NOT amused, full of tourists definitely not an authentic experience, quality of food is average, service is kind but very distracted due to understaffing and overcrowding.
Heard a lot of good things about this restaurant so we were pretty excited to try it for lunch today after visiting the Koutoubia Mosque. The service was good but the food was quite disappointing. Restaurant was small and felt very touristy.
Really friendly staff, great views from the rooftop, delicious food, reasonable prices. They do accept credit card.
Nice place. The samusa (a starterwas really good. The chicken in the chicken salad was dry and tasteless but the rest of the salad was ok. The tajin Kufta with egg was nice.
Food was OK. The samusa was the best dish. The Chicken salade was bad. No spices/olive oil or any flavor...
The food and drinks were really good and the service as well. The terrace is pleasant.
Definitely worth!!Just the perfect place to have dinner, super central, nice staff, good food for not too expensive prices... Definitely something hard to find in Marrakesh, so absolutely recommended!!The view from the terrace is also lovely and they have a nice system to keep the whole place cool (with some humidity vaporizer)We spent 17euro for one thuna salad, one tajine with prunes and drinks. Both dishes were delicious.Problematic are only the seats, which are not exactly big or super comfortable. So dont expect to be in a restaurant with much room for yourself. This wasnt a problem for us though.
Definitely visit at least once, good food, great view (reflected in the prices).
Beautiful restaurant. Good view on the third floor. I recommend getting the iced coffee and Briwates.Servers are friendly and funny.
Nice little spot near the main square. Good view point from the upstairs terrace of the hustle and bustle below. Not an amazing view but nice chance to get away from the madness of Marrakesh and reflect.Service was great and were very happy to stop and chat about life in the city.Photo is the view from the terrace.
This is a really good place to eat! Waiters are really nice food is delicious! The owner is really nice as well and you have a really good view from the terrace! Will definitely go back!
Great service and awesome view especially at night. Loved the Moroccan pastries after dinner too.
Cute little cafe on two floors, right across from Koutoubia Minaret. Friendly, crowded. Reception downstairs welcomes you with traditional mint tea. Moroccan and western dishes (burgers). Some drinks but no alcohol. Some salads too. Burgers are tasty made with local spices, a welcome change after so many tangines, and served with some very good fries. No air con. Prices are average. Cash and credit cards.
A pleasant little spot overlooking Koutoubia masjid. Ordered the chicken pasty, chicken burger, and vegetable tagine. All of the dishes were delicious. We cannot fault the service. I would highly recommend this place if you are stopping in Marrakesh. Price is very decent too given the location.
Eating at this restaurant on the terrace was an absolute delight. Friendly and kind service & exquisite food. My favorite dish during my entire week in all of Morocco. The chicken tajine with prunes was so well made and the chicken just melted in your mouth. Loved the lime and mint drink as well. More expensive than Street food, but you can’t beat the atmosphere, quality, or deliciousness of the food.
Great view of Koutoubia Mosque with classic Moroccan dishes responsible priced. The mojitos are divine even without alcohol. Go youll enjoy yourself! 😊
Nice restaurant, seats are very small but that gives it a cosy feeling. For us it was the best local food we had in Marrakech and for a super reasonable price, the owner is french so the restaurant stands up to European standards. If you wanna be sure you have a spot, make sure you reserve! Would recommend this place to everyone whos in for quality local food.
Very cute little cafe we stumbled upon late at night after walking around the big square. I had nutella pastilles for the first time - wow! The service was great too and it was nice to sit upstairs and watch the street. Really lovely
One of the few places in Marrakesh where you can get a vegetarian pastilla. It was good (not the most fabulous meal that you can have here thoughand the view on Koutoubia is beautiful especially at sunset. Staff was friendly and speak several languages. A safe european-touristy-yet-tasty restaurant in the area.
The terras is really nice with a beautiful view on the Koutoubia, especially at sunset. The food is good and so are the drinks (no alcohol). The service is bland.
Beautiful restaurant with great local cuisine. I had the lamb tajine with apricots and walnuts - very tender and perfectly seasoned. The coffee is good as well. Went there twice during our 3 days in Marrakesh.
Had dinner here. I had the lamb couscous and my wife the veggie couscous. Both were delicious. The best part of this place, though, is the atmosphere. Its a hip, bohemian cafe on a busy street corner. We ate on the top terrace and had a great view of all the chaos below us and the Koutoubia tower. Highly recommend a dinner here.
The place is great! The food and drinks are so good, that I couldnt get enough and been there a couple of times during my stay in Marrakech. You can also get a beer in this place (which is not that obvious in Morocco! The décor, menu and service is a bit more European than in other places, but it still preserves the unique Moroccan style.
Vegan friendly spot that serves fresh Moroccan dishes at a moderate price. The lime/ mint juice was amazingly refreshing and the view from the top floor offers an aerial view of the city :great for pics
Overall the food was OK, tajine was good, salad not so much. Nice view, friendly staff.Mid-range price level
Great place to grab a cheap evening meal and watch the sun set over Koutoubia Mosque. Delicious chicken and olive tagine, and Im reliably informed that the vegetable pastie pie was to die for! Would have been five stars if the tables hadnt been so cramped together on the terrace with people smoking on either side 😷
One of my favourite places in Marrakech, when Im back Ill definitely go there. The owner is an extremely nice and talkative Frenchman with a cute dog, and the food is typical from Marrakech (toned down a bit for the upset-stomached tourists), delicious and not expensive at all.The best place to sit would be on the third floor, with a 180 degree view to the busy city and the Koutoubia square. They also make delicious juices and cocktails (virgin of coursethat are worth a try.
Beautiful view. Specially in the sunset with a cup of Moroccan tea. Tasty food as well.
Foodie instagrammers paradise! Huge windows with nice light coming in, food and beverages here are excellent.
By far the nicest place to eat. Myself and my mum went here 3 times on our time away.. for 2 dinners and a lunch. Generous portions. Clean food. It is very small and they do try to pack in as many people as they can within reason. Nice views. And a cool vibe. Tagines are by far the best we had. And the nutella pastilla was incredible... highly recommended 😊
Fantastic food as well as a great view of the Koutoubia mosque and surrounding chaos. General Morrocan cuisine on offer such as cous cous, tagine and grilled meats but much better than most places we ate at. The view from the top floor is perfect for watching the world go by. I recommend the Kefta tagine with egg (Tagine kefta oeuf I think). Minced lamb meatballs in a delicious tomato sauce with an egg, its awesome!
This place is so tasty! We were in Marrakesh for 4 days and came here twice because it was so good. Its a great mix of vegetarian/vegan dishes as well as meaty tajines and couscous all in the traditional moroccan style (despite it being owned and operated by french expats). There are 3 floors here, but be sure to grab a table on the top floor for a spectacular view of koutoubia square (go during sunset!). Very convenient location to eat before/after braving the Jemaa al-Fnaa square and souks!
Great little place with good food and good views. Staff were lovely and helpful in explaining the menu. Kofta and egg tagine was delicious as were the briwates for the starter (filo pastry parcels, like mini samosas, with a selection of fillings - cheese, spinach, meat and veg). Would definitely recommend it and suggest going up to the terrace for the view!
I thought it would be one of these touristy place, it kinda is but actually the food is really really good! The prune chicken was so delicious. And you can enjoy the terrasse or the middle floor with the big opening on the Koutoubia mosque is its a little chilly.Stop by you will not be disappointed.
We used google maps to find this place. The reviews were all on point. English speaking staff. Lovely view. We had the sardine tajine and the chicken burger for mains. The trio of Moroccan salads and the briwates for starters.Total for 5 people eating was 575DHM. Reasonable and the food was good. Everyone enjoyed it.Highly recommended.
Nice cafe with helpful, friendly staff. The roof terrace has some nice views of the city and the mountains in the distance. I had the burger which i didnt expect to be anything special but it was delicious!
I took a rest in here on the random after walking around Marrakech. Honestly I was going to pass up the place until one of the staff standing outside endeared me to go in. Im glad I did.The interior was comfy and lovely, plus the staff were very nice. I sat on the second floor but you can also go up to the terrace. I only had a drink here, but they also serve food like cous-cous and sandwiches.
Great food, nice location, the best staff! Take a seat at the roof terrace and marvel the mild chaos in the street downstairs while having a coffee or mint tea in the morning, a lemon and mint juice with chicken sandwich for lunch and definitely the chicken pastilla (photoand (alcohol free - of coursemargarita cocktail at night. When you heard the muezzin of the Koutoubia mosque - which you can actually touch from the roof terrace if youre brave enough to lean over the edge that far - more than two times during your visit of KifKif, only then did you get the full experience. Did I mention the staff is great? Extremely friendly, they remember us when we came back after a few days. But that might be the result of the fact they adored our baby boy (seriously: we could enjoy lunch or dinner and lay back while they entertained our 1,5 year old toddler). Long story short: when on this side of Marrakech: go to Kif Kif!
The roof top view over the street at night is interesting. Food is tasty plentyful and fairly cheap and mostly Moroccan. Have a desert as well. Staff and friendly and attentive. Diffinatey worth a visit.Second visit this time in the cosy upper floor laid back music, candles tagines what more could you want. Just visit!
