Worst coffee ever had! I went with a friend after wanting to try this place for a while, I ordered a macchita and I got a small version of a cappuccino.. I am used to people not knowing what a macchiato is, but I wouldnt expect that in an Italian cafe.Beside that, it was undrinkable, I felt bad because my friend paid for it, and he couldnt even drink his. Never going back there!

Great coffee & tasty Italian style snacks, opens nice and early, catches the sun if there is any! We sat outside for breakfast & watched world go by through their glass screens. Very practical as it kept breeze off as the sunshine warmed our faces.😊👌

Was not impressed with this place at all. You have no choice of paninis only what is made in the morning so if you dont fancy anything in the cabinet they will not make anything fresh for you. It took an age to eventually get my toasted panini which was burnt. Cappuccino was only okay, way too much milk, its only because it was Lavazza coffee that it could be classified as a cappuccino instead of hot milk! Staff was more interested in talking to her friend than dealing with customers.

Ordered an English breakfast, wasn’t great. 3 small mushrooms , a slice of 1/8 of a tomato and they wouldn’t provide toast with the breakfast as apparently that’s not standard.

No fuss selection of tasty Mediterranean dishes at reasonable prices. Nice coffee, tasty salads, friendly staff.

I paid 4.50 Pound for a piece of cake. It was dry and didnt taste good. For this price I expect something good but this cake wasn’t worth 1 pound…… don’t recommend. Coffee is also overpriced for the thing u get it wasn’t good at all..

Popped in for cake and a coffee.Made to feel very welcome.Delicious cakes, the like of which Id not seen before. Excellent coffee.Oddly my favourite was the Bakewell tart.It was fun trying all the others though!

The first time I went here I enjoyed a croissant breakfast and the waitress was nice.The second time I went the lady at the counter (blonde hairwas so so rude, like she was trying to cause a problem for no reason? As in no greeting, dirty look, and just staring at me as I was ordering and not replying. She had this smug look on her face as well and genuinely looked like she was on something...I only ever leave reviews on things that are either really bad or really good. Food and milkshake was nice but the atmosphere of this cafe is so weird.

Delicious coffee!, they have the most gorgeous little pastries, and a great selection of sandwiches, cakes. Its a tiny place, a few tables inside but most seating outside, undercover and with heaters for cold weather. Very popular with locals and visitors. Good location, near the Dome and Theatre Royal, and the North Laines. Quite a steep step at entrance, need to go in to order

Excellent coffee with some delicious Italian snacks. The outside space has just had some glass panels erected around it so you can people watch whilst protected from the wind. There are also large canopies overhead to keep off the rain. Very central, opposite the Dome and just near the Theatre Royal. Really enjoyable place to chat and watch the world go by.

The waitress was taking orders and handling the food with her bare hands without washing them. Given the current situation it’s important to wear gloves and a mask when handling food so it totally put me off. She was also eating whilst serving a customer. The customer service is questionable and not once did I feel welcome.Sitting on the inside is uncomfortable because when they heat the food up in the toasting machines and ovens it tends to get quite smoky and beyond hot in there.

Lovely, friendly staff, great coffee. Ideal spot for people watching.

The most miserable server and waitress Ive ever seen in a cafe.....drinks werent great either, wont be returning as lots of much better great cafes around....

Would rate 0. I went in to buy a coffee and the woman at the counter was looking through some photographs, (she looked preoccupied), so I asked her if they were still open to which she shouted at me "Of course were open!" It was literally just unprovoked rudeness. Sorry for bothering you, Ill get my coffee somewhere else.

Not much food to choose from at the time we arrived but had a tasty panini.. lovely fresh orange juice and staff were very friendly

Coffee was brilliant, BUT i ordered 3 nutella bites as well , 1.50 £each and was so dry , old and hard .I just left them at the plate.Its a shame , i love this Italian desserts and i couldnt taste them 😣

Coffee and pastry were okay but the staff was disrepectul beyond belief, with the girl at the cash machine rolling her eyes because we named a pastry different than what we mentioned beforehand and with the girl who served me and my friend the coffees getting annoyed because my friends asked for sugar (which wasnt brought to us). Honestly poor service and wont ever go back again. A piece of advice to the owner, find new, better staff.

They make probably the worst coffee in Brighton. The sweets were not fresh. With the wealth of outstanding coffee shops just around the corner, I wonder how they survive.

The staff were rude and did not apologise when I pointed out they had overcharged me. I had to throw my Americano away after one sip as it was completely burnt. Had no idea you could make coffee taste so bad! This place is for gullible tourists only. Avoid.

Serves the best coffee in Brighton. Friendly team, delicious toasties & cakes. Great location with outside seating & dog friendly, where the locals come to catch up. Treat yourself and watch the world go by....

Lovely coffee but service could be more pleasant.

Nice coffee and location.....hard poached eggs and cold hard panini. No condiments or sweeteners and cleared plates before we had finished

The best Italian coffee in the world, the service and food is excellent, very friendly welcoming lady Yola is gives you beautiful smiles . I travel the world and I can tell you come over here and you will be coming back again.

Lovelly place, good coffee and food.

I really like the place and visit for a cup of coffee regularly which I enjoy outside - rain or shine - while busy city is passing by. Yesterday I decided to try those mini cannoli they sell and bought one of each for my afternoon tea with friends. To my despair they were very very old and rancid, with hard and dried out shell difficult to bite, and the cream partially hardened on edges. Disgusting!I feel cheated and betrayed and most likely wont be coming back.

Really cute cafe, so glad we stopped by here! Its not right in the heart of the busy areas which is nice.. they had a huge selection of different stuff which was amazing. The girls working were so nice and friendly as well. Had eggs on toast - my GOD it was everything I had hoped it would be and more.. so tasty! Double bonus points for having free Wi-Fi with a password readily visible for anyone to write down.. lose half a point for the most encrypted and complicated password in history.

Really nice street cafe with a great outdoor seating area got The Lanes. Had a great latte and caramel slice, reasonably priced and served by friendly staff (with food and drink brought out to the table).

I hate sitting indoors for coffee, in any weather, so this is my fave place to drift to. (you can sit inside too!Perfect place to watch the world go by, from silent disco to general hubub, or to just have a read ... Friendly, helpful service ... Best flat white in town... Staff surly & dismissive. I asked for the sugar and it was plomped unceremoniously on the table next to me without a word of reply. Sitting in the morning sun was is only upside. I cant imagine going back.

Rainy day so the tables inside were crowded, but even so the staff were lovely.Excellent selection of pastries, including horns of croissant (whatever the Italian is - canoncinistuffed with a variety of flavoured butter including chocolate, pistachio, vanilla and lemon (not all in the same one, of course), and good coffee.However by 4pm they felt past their best (its a time when most cafés in Brighton are closing anyway - perhaps Café italiano has a second life in the evening).Would go again if near the pavilion

I go here everyday before work. Their lattes are perfect, food is delicious, prices are great and the staff is amazing and friendly. I absolutely adore this place. Im pretty picky about my coffee having been a barista previously and they are spot on every time. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Alma and her staff are so welcoming. They have a wonderful selection of coffees, soups and meals - perfect for that day off or lunch time away from the office. Its a regular visit for me now, and a great location too.

Bought some pastries here for the office. Bought a selection of items and the woman tossed in one for free, which was nice but totally unnecessary. People at the office loved the little pastries - exactly what I was looking for.
