Cafe Frei - Espresso bar in Budapest XX. kerület, Hungary
If you need a good coffe, this place is definitely one of the best
The coffee that I had from this lovely café was impeccable and full of flavour!
excellent coffee, even better cakes, very friendly staff......absolute recommendation
Absolutely stunning selection of cofe from around the globe. Stylish unique atmosphere i side. Definitely recommend
This place (and chainwas recommended by several people. We have seen branches around Budapest but never in the timing for coffee until our last trip day.So lucky we managed to get in before heading out or we would have missed a fantastic coffee experience. We love our coffee and personally I am addicted to it (10 times a day seems about right). This is a temple for coffee like no other place. Almost every type, every style and each made with Max attention and love. The atmosphere of this branch was calm and quite. The inside was dark but still inviting. We asked for frappe latte and beduin coffee. The taste and presentation of both were just beautiful.Probably a little too hard to choose from the large catalog but... just gamble as my guess is everything here would be great.Amazing coffee shop.
Probably the best coffee I’ve had in Budapest. They have a variety of coffee beans, what works for me was the medium roast. Always in the mood for Lombardo cake that brought childhood memories. Thank you
Lombard cake blew my mind! Coffee smells and tastes like it should. Very friendly staff.
What a great idea for a cafe! Definitely stop by to try one of the so many varieties of coffee they serve from all over the world. The coffee is delicious and not expensive at all! It was great to try coffees from Bora Bora, Japan and Rio. If we went there on our first day of the Budapest trip we would be going back there every day but we only tried it on the last day of our trip.
On our second Coffeetrip through Budapest, we tried zhe Café frei. The interior was Special, many plants and Green colours. We ordered some Espresso and water and tried the Sandwiches, which were really tasty. The Espresso was good, but i believe, that there are better ones in Budapest. Gut nonetheless five Stars, because it was cheap, delicious and the staff was friendly. Because of the self service you wont be interrupted, the atmosphere was nice and comfy. It is worth a visit!
Fantastic coffee, so many choices and professional baristas! Beautiful place to sit at.
Love visiting Cafe Frei and drinking coffee. They have a great variety of specialty coffee from all over the world. I believe it’s the only coffee chain in Budapest with such a wide choice!
Very nice place, super huge choice of coffee drinks. Coffee are really good
This is something new. So much better than S*arbucks! Huge selection, excellent taste. I’m sure the coffee beans they work with are average at best, but the way they prepare the final product is exceptional.
For people who loves coffee, this place is a complete dream! The menu is huge and its kind complicated to decide which coffee to try. From different places, different combinations and for every taste. I asked for an Arabic Coffee - Gahwa, and it was completely amazing! The Saigon Apple-Caramel was the perfect match. The place is cozy and colorful. A great experience.
The best discovered capuccino in town. Large variety types of coffe and flavours. Cozy inside and outsode.
Exceptionally good coffee, with a wide variety of different tastes. I can highly recommend the "dohány kávé" (tobacco coffee). You can also buy packs of grounded or roasted coffee.
I have never seen such a great variety of creative and delicious drinks & cakes! One of my favourite cafés in Budapest.
I came here for a coffee. I have never been here before so it was a bit difficult for me to choose among the coffees and types. The lady at the bar was super friendly and helpful, so I chose a frappe. It was very delicious and nice taste. The coconut and the lemon flavor were not too much it was perfectly enough. I am pretty sure I will be back to taste more coffee.
Great coffee from all around the world! You have to come here 🥰
Lovely service, a very large choice of coffee, which is very pleasant
Fantastc selection of coffees from all around the world, pleasant, clean place, friendly staff, great price
Such a lovely coffee place. The variety of beverages from around the world is just astounding. Weve ordered five very distinct coffees and each one was tasty and aromatic. Oh, and they have delicious croissants as well! I can highly recommend it 🧡
This place probably has more coffee selections than a Starbucks Reserve. Quirky, chill, friendly, and not very busy. Perfect place to hang out with a book or a date. Very reasonable prices too (700-1000 HUF).Recommended: flat white, Ethiopian ice caramel ginger latte. Not recommended: Casablanca cream mint latte (watery).
The taste of coffee and service are 5/5... only wish is that coffee cups could be bigger :)
Lovely place to have a breakfast at./Dont expect full Irish/English./
We discovered this place by accident and it’s probably the best coffee place in Budapest. Concept of this place is that they offer coffee variations from all of the world with authentic ingredients and preparation - for instance beduin coffee made on a hot sand. You can select from Italian, French, Latin-American, Arabic and more. Non-coffee drinkers can select hot chocolate variations or some loose leaf tea.The place has very cozy atmosphere. I strongly recommend Nicaraguan tobacco coffee which is really specific. You can also buy some whole bean coffee - flavored or single origin.
Beautiful place, very cozy and colourful ambiance. The servers are super friendly. We ordered a white hot chocolate and Arabian coffee (gahwa), which were both very tasty. Probably one of the nicest Cafe Frei-s I have been in Budapest.
Love the coffeeselection from all around the world. This place is definitely recommended for all coffeelovers
Beautiful café, with lots of varieties of coffee from all over the world.
Check out the Armenian orange coffee here. It’s a Turkish-style coffee with orange peels for that extra kick and zest, truly a unique combo
Coffee from different continents with very nice desserts and fast service with nice staff , what more to ask ? Loved it !
Very big choice of coffee. Dubai spice cappuccino is highly recommended! This is a cozy place right near the walking area of the city
cute place to hang out. It is quiet corner near the Parliament.
The serious art of coffee, I recommend first go to a table and start reading the menu book, so many wonderful choices. Not for in a hurry times, slow down and enjoy.
Best coffee in town. We came here every day during the week we were in Budapest. Interesting variety of coffee from around the world most of them for 600 ft a cup.
I definitely recommend this place! Very nice staff which is willing to help you. Delicious coffee and many options to choose!
This place has the most extensive coffee menu Ive ever come across. It has literally everything one could think of. If you want an espresso, prepare to choose from various options (there must have been at least five different ones). When it comes to cakes, the choice is quite moderate but still has something to offer for every palate. Very well done, guys. Service is spot on, too.
Ran in here simply to get out of the torrential rain, but was pleasantly surprised by the selection available. Definitely something for everyone on offer, and the Spanish Macchiato was amazing. Very busy, but well worth the visit.
Something for everyone, whether it be a health concoction, Italian/French/Latin/Arab/American/Japanese coffee, or hot chocolate from around the world. All of ours were well made and the shop had ample seating. Ask for a brochure in your language, sit awhile to decide and enjoy.
Excellent collection of coffee, tea, with liqueur, hot and cold. They have coffees from all across the world. The place is packed with people. We ordered a couple of drinks of get an idea of what the whole hype is. But everything was really good. This place also has some yum desserts.
Probably had the best coffee i had in my life. The Tokyo drip coffee was aromatic and smooth. And wait till you see the price, makes all the cafe wannabe looks dumb. Genuinely upset that I only found them on my last day in Budapest. Ill really recommend any coffee lover to drop by. They have selection of cakes but we didnt try. Looks good though.
Such a LOVELY place. Really cheap, amazing coffee (loads of choices), great cakes and wonderful customer service! My coffee was much more spicy than what I was expecting and they offered me another option instead without charging me any extra. Definitely coming back. A must!!
This is the best chain of coffee. You have different flavors for countrys around the world and still not found one really good. Event the food is very nice. And the prices are fit in your pocket. Should be a mandatory stop for breakfast or a snack in the afternoon
Great choice of coffees from all over the world, nice interiors and good atmosphere. Much, much more interesting than popular coffee shops branches and at the same time prices are better!
The best possible place to spend our last local money. Never ending list of coffee from all aground the globe. We felt in love to this cosy Cafe.
Wish we came here sooner! So many different coffees on offer and they all look great! Strange Argos type ordering system but it seemed to work well enough, had to wait a while however it was a busy period.
Very cosy cafe with a colourful touch. Here you can lean back and enjoy a very good cup of coffee or tea. Order at the reception, pay, grab a table and wait for your number to be displayed. I’ve had an sweet Arab Kávé which was amazing. Good service, a warm atmosphere, friendly service and great coffee ☕️👍🏼
Very good cafe. Good choice of coffee form all over the world. Good desserts. Prices very ok. For to coffees and two desserts I paid 5 euro. We had also very good lemonade. I recommend this place.
If I want to drink a cup of coffee, I go to this place exclusively. This is the BEST coffee in the country. You can chose plenty types of coffees from different countries all around the world. You get your coffee from the best quality of coffee beans with fare trade and very low prices. You can chose from some of teas, smoothies and cakes also of the same quality of course. In summer time they have special natural ice creams too.So, if you have enough time in the city and you want to drink something special from the highest quality straight from homeland of coffees and all of it low prices thanks to totally fare trade, you have to try it.The Cafe Frei is a franchise so you can find it in several places in the city, for example in the malls.
Dozens of coffee types to try, all we tried were amazing. Nice, cozy place, very good prices. We tried Tokyo raspberry latte, Aztec chili espresso and Casablanca mint latte and they all had a very interesting taste, would recommend!
