Café Codiac - Cafe in Moncton, Canada
Best coffee shop where we can taste the freshness of their locally roasted beans.
I used to visit any time I was in Moncton - living here now and its my go-to place for hot coffees and beans (I think they have tea too...lolI love the lattes SO much, beans roasted in house, makes a huge difference. Lots of choices no matter what you want to drink or eat. We had no power after Fiona, and even though they were super busy staff were patient and quality stayed great. Love you guys!!
FINALLY, got a chance for another awesome Iced Americano from Cafe Codiac, its only been 3 years since the last one and STILL, ONE OF MY TOP FIVE.Shoulda got a 20 oz , next time. Finding any coffee place that can make it properly, is like finding a $100 bill on the sidewalk, Ive tried many, this one of my favorites..The other PLUSES: friendly, knowledgeable staff; great varieties of coffee beans, wonderful ambience. Got to meet a very kind gentleman and his sweet Airedale. Id highly recommend this place, if you like good coffee, even smells excellent. Ive not tried any baked goods, but if appreance is any indication, look great as well. A little off the beaten track for those of us passing through, but SO WORTH THE STOP...
1st time there and really enjoyed my Latte. Friendly and knowledgeable staff member answered my questions on the various coffees they sell. From what I observed, this is a very busy and popular place. Will be back.
Staff has improved but some are still short tempered and the dark roast coffee is sub par, but their medium/light roast is consistent. It’s definitely hipster service where the coffee sometimes takes as long to make it as it does to drink it. The carrot muffins are worth a second trip.
Very nice atmosphere, lots of choices for coffee and snacks.A bit pricy, but the food is top notch
They could do better in the soup and sandwich department. Soups are watery sandwich menu is very bland with little toppings. Youre eating mostly bread it seems.
Wow. Literally stumbled on this place, and will make it a regular spot when in moncton.great coffees, tasty food, knowledgeable and pleasant staff!
Great place to stop for a brunch on a morning bike ride, great coffee and delicious pastries
Great coffee. Friendly staff.
Awsome little restaurent. Great inside atmosphere and fantastic coffee
First time ever in this place. Loved it! And can sit outside on the patio. Even though close to St George Blvd, can hear all the birds chirping. I had a Dark Roast with cream, and just ate their cinnamon roll at home. Yummy!
Wonderful day after practice with the wow ladies for dragon 🐉boat coming up ,had a nice cup of ☕desert 🏜and a pk of green tea to enjoy at home..
Their coffee are good. Their room is big and there is too much noise with echo when they are busy
I lived in Moncton alone for 3 months in the dead of winter and this was the only thing I had to look forward to. 5/5.
We truly enjoyed our lunch here. The stew was amazing! Everything was nicely presented. Staff were very efficient and friendly. The decor has a food court feel but the food is worth a visit. Lots of parking available.
Decaf is close to caffeine you will get for taste! They have home made hot chocolate yum!
Thé coffee here is so tasty! Service is a little slow if you are in a hurry but I don’t mind when I go there to sit in. Clean and lots of tables so I usually find a table to study at:staff is super friendly!
Good coffee but sandwiches are smallest and expensive.
Great Cafe, friendly staff. New to buying roasted beans for coffee at home, was given recommendations that we loved.Love the breakfast sandwiches!
I love this place, but I truly do not know how they stay open with how incredibly slow their service is. Drive thru/sit-in/takeout. Often 5+ staff with 20 minute+ wait times even when its slow :(. Plan your visit accordingly because you may be there a while.
Slow!!!Service was sloweven with 6 staffCoffee is great... lots of options... a little pricey 😋Cheesebun DELISH!!!! Sooo yum🤗🥯The atmosophere is nice - a little loud tholocation greatNeed something to make it less echo-y..noisyPlants.. small wall partition/ benches /plantsThe kitchen staff needs a micVERY!!!hard to hear for convo... and when ordering and when they call order is readyWould like to go back... hope they make it more comfortable/ cozy
By far the best coffee shop in Moncton, they. Even roast their own beans on the spot☕🥐
Good coffee if you have time to wait for it. Drive thru service is very slow.
Stopped here for coffee and a bite to eat. Excellent coffee and food. And the manager and girls are so nice!
Friendly atmosphere, clean and inviting. Great staff very friendly with lots of knowledge of the products for sale. Great experience for coffee lovers..Highly recommend
Always love Codiac Cafe & the food is amazing. Sadly the hot drinks are hit & miss. They taste yummy but sometimes they’re perfectly hot & sometimes they’re downright cold. Our 2 drinks today were disappointingly cold. Barely warm. It was drive thru & we couldn’t go back due to our schedules. So sad to have a lukewarm coffee.
I had a great experience here. The coffee was amazing. I also had a vegetable sandwich which was delicious. Will go there again.
Selection is ok and staff are great. Prices are a tad high. Im not sure what happens with drive thru but Id recommend just going inside.
This coffee shop manages to provide ethically sourced products without the snootiness if a "high-end" coffee shop. Its roomy, a bit rustic feeling, and one of my favourite spots to pull out my laptop and pretend Im working.
Nice spot to meet friends and hang out. Dont drink coffee but they have a humungous variety that my friends enjoy. Also great homemade sandwiches.... yummy!!! Very popular and does get filled up. People tend to stick around. Good thing.
Vegetarian chili was on point ...cashews in chili ... brilliant!! Yum! Thanks for the great drive through option for lunch on the go.. delicious and convienient.
Food is amazing the coffee selection is impressive enough to make that "green Star" lady turn red 😉 if you like food and coffee made with love that is the place to be...P.s. that beef soup i had today was so chunky and healty 5h later i still feel well fed hahaha
Stopped by a for a coffee. Had a light roast which was given in a good size mug with the usual creamer and sugar options. Clean and well presented cafe with friendly staff
Hands down the best roast in town. Put aside your Starbucks and shop local with the added benefit of a vastly superior product. The one caveat is the chocolate covered coffee beans. Im pretty sure I might just have ODed on caffeine ;-)
Such a great way to warm up. Its not on the posted menu, but ask for warm apple cider. Locally grown and naturally sweet. Beautiful.
Busy spot, but for good reason. Good, consistent coffee. Broad selection and friendly staff. Average price for similar places. Keeps me going back.
Pretty good spot, seems to be quite popular though I dont go there often. The customer service was ok, the girl seemed like she didnt want to be there, but the latte was decent.
Love supporting local! It also comes with great service and quality products. My teen prefers their iced cappuccino over Starbucks.
Location: I think it was about 10-minutes away from downtown, by car. Parking isnt an issue. The place: Well. The place felt more like a church basement or cafeteria then it did a coffee shop. Kind of industrial-looking. I wouldnt say it was warm and cozy. The goods: We ordered lattes and they were solid. I think I prefer Duo, but this is still a decent place to get coffee if youre not a fan of Starbucks or Tims.Service: OK.Price point: I didnt pay so Im not sure.
The food and coffee were delicious and the atmosphere was cozy.
I really enjoyed the environment! They have wheelchair access for those who need it, they have an a/c indoors with plenty space & lots of variety of both hot & warm beverages. They also have an area inside that has tables & chairs for those who want the natural light but without being outside. My friend & I had the pleasure of sitting on the outside deck area which also had plant tables & chairs. It was like being out on a porch because there was a roof overtop, but you were still outside. My only complaint was that they werent open until later than five! But I guess we needed to get going, anyway (we were there for a few hours by the time they were closing. The experience was great & time flew!I will definitely make return visits!!
Love this place, if you like great coffee, the smell alone is worth a trip. They are roasters of a fine, variety of world coffees. I have not tried their food, but Zack made me an iced Americano, from their Zydeco Espresso. Awesome Cannot wait to go back.
The cashier/server, I dont think she likes her job much. Didnt smile at all and was short with me and a couple of others. Didnt catch her name but Im sure if she wasnt just having a bad day, something will straighten her out.....karma!
The best chai latte ever! All the coffee choices have a good strong flavour.Lunch and dessert items.Lots of seating available.Drive thru option.
Nice spot to have a conversation, relax, get a little work done and enjoy solid coffee selections. Might be 40 cents more and you have to add your own cream and sugar but it will always taste like really great coffee.
Not overly impressed. Firstly, it was difficult to find because the larger sign on the building says "Down East Coffee". I drove right past it looking for Café Codiac, which is a much smaller sign on the side of the building next to the entrance. The food is expensive for what you get. The Chai latte was huge, but that certainly didnt make up for its bitter flavour. The layout of the café is awkward and could easily be fixed by adding a few half walls, angling the tables, adding drapes to lower the ceiling, or all of the above. Their pastries are almost hidden, and I didnt notice them until after I ordered. Overall, there was nothing special about this café and I probably wont be returning. The picture I include is probably the coziest table in the place, situated behind a wall of sorts.
Great coffee...not a fan of the layout. After you order a coffee; you need to go back almost in the lineup to get your coffee... customers coming into the store kept asking if I was in the lineup. A bit frustrating..., then after you get the coffee..you need to go to the other side of the shop to get cream. Really backwards. But considering it’s moncton, it is a good coffee
Café Codiac is a great place to come for a great atmosphere and even better coffee! The staff have been the same for some time and are always welcoming. This place has won awards for their service to their customers. If youre looking for a non-franchised version of a coffeehouse and are into supporting local business, then I wouldnt recommend anywhere else in Moncton for a great cup of your favourite hot beverage.
Some of the best coffee in town, always prepared properly. Good food and nice atmosphere. Can be a tad noisy when its packed.
