Café Central Málaga - Cafeteria in Malaga, Spain
Overall, not bad for a quick bit. However, they were quite busy and I luck out getting a table rather quickly. Ordered a churro with white chocolate dipping sauce and a hot chocolate. Both were edible and filling.
Very popular with tourists and locals alike. Locals mostly go here between 10am and noon. All the other time its pretty busy with tourists, especially in the late afternoonand evening. They have good churros and dipping chocolate as well as a selection of other desserts that are ok.Id recommendgojng there earlier, right after breakfast for early afternoon churros and chocolate. The service is good but you need to wait longer and prepare for possi le mix ups if they are swamped which will inevitably happen.
Went for a quick break today at noon and everything went very smooth. Tried to go last night but when we were waiting in line for seating, people from the sidewalk got seating first. It was crowded but having one entry way to the place would be better for clients and staff.
Good cappuccino and fresh orange juice. In the midst of Malaga centre.
I went here for a weekend away with my girlfriend who became my fiance during the weekend. This coffe shop invented 8 different type of coffes what people drink in southern Spain. It was the best coffe Ive had. I tried the largo.Highly recommended.
Not a great experience. The server got our orders wrong on several aspects and the food looked too basic for the price. The club sandwich looked like something I could cook at home in 10 minutes. Not a pleasant environment to eat in if you’re sitting inside. However, nice staff, though they were kind of slow and did not understand the orders.
I have been there for breakfast with my friend first nobody wants to bring us menu so we went inside and took it by our own. Then they didnt listen our order. Churros were very oily and salsa was cold. Sandwiches were not enough tosted. Noone ask about Caffe con leche and at the end I get something that I didnt want. When we wanted to pay than they added things that we didnt order and when we told about it they were rude. We paid a lot for mostly waiting and being ignored. I will not recommend that place anymore.
Churros were oily and shallow.Fried fish platter was oily too but tasty. Not worth for 14 euro for fish platter.
Fab burgers, fresh, juicy and tasty. Real potatoes chips. Lovely house wine! Albondequellas in Almond sauce, beautiful.
One of the best Paellas we had in Malaga! But also the other dishes were great. Service is fast and the staff super friendly an helpful. They also have great cakes for dessert!
Had many enjoyable dining experiences in Malaga but this wasnt one of them.Ordered breakfast for two, simple nothing fancy. One of us got her Serrano sandwich in time, though it was dry, but I had to wait another TWENTY minutes for my omelet. Had to remind the waiter, Antonio I believe, a few times and also saw some omelets brought to newcomer tables! Finally I got it but it was as if out of the fridge--ice cold! Also no bread/toast on the side nor some salt or pepper on the table.P.S. Also noticed another table complaining about their orders not arriving at the same time.
Delicious breakfast at a reasonable good price!!! Fresh juice. Excellent service!!! I asked for some special specifications and they made them. We had breakfast there on Tuesday and Wednesday served by the same waiter (unfortunately I dont have his name), but on Thursday he was not there and the service was more caotic and more like a mess, although there were four runners on service and the other waiter. Its located on a nice square.
Fantastic! Great breakfast in a great location! Very good coffee. Loved it
Historic cafè in Malaga but the churros are nothing to write home about and the cafe y leche wasnt good. Great location and prompt service though.
Delicious breakfast with a beautiful view. The staff is very nice. There are plenty of choices on the menu. I highly recommend this place!
Place with tradition which is really worth to visit in Malaga. But unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with churros, i had better ones. Sandwiches was just okay.
Actually it was Sunday morning at 8. There was a procession going to the church. The cafe was packed ans there was only 2 waiter. It took me 30 minutes to be seen and 30 serve and another 20 minutes to have my churros and the woman did not bring any coffee at all. She was very busy and kind of overwhelmed and stressed. So maybe because it was Sunday but i was really needing a coffee. So, anyway after waiting for a coffee, i ate my churros without coffee, and i went to La Canasta instead which is also full of people and only one staff. So i am guessing because it was Sunday? Maybe in other days is not so busy.
Decent basic food, clean and pleasant atmosphere with efficient waiter service. Only minus point is passers by walk through the outside table area without masks (re Covidand when you are sitting and eating it is a little disconcerting. Suggest getting a middle table outside.
It’s a nice place to ve a coffee or typical spanish churros with a view! The service could be better
While you seat and order the waiter is looking around. No customer focus.Food has strange taste. Before I got the meal I have been served with dessert.
Good food, nice staff and prices are affordable
Very tasty coffee and churros. The portion was huge!
Had the Malaga breakfast, delicious! Best churros I’ve had so far. I would definitely come back here
The location is beyond good or bad -- here you are at the heartbeat of Malaga. Freindly staff. And I assume good drinks and food.In my case I had ony a Frappé and they served in a plastic cup with just a plastic straw -- that must not happen in a restaurant with just a little quality and style standard.
Excellent choice of healthy breakfasts/brunches/lunches, the cappuccino with almond milk is to die for. And their service is just great. 2 thumbs up, we went back especially for 2nds before our flight back home.
Amazing coffee, and the churros were good although not freshly made. Very slow and very inattentive service. It is the worst Ive encountered in Malaga so far.
Had a great brief visit here. Coffee (I had a cortadowhich was terrific from first taste (virtually no bitter tasteuntil the end. I spoke with the barista and he told me that the coffee was a proprietary 100% Arabica blend (not sure organicfrom 2 Central America countries. So I cant agree with others on this message stream maybe they are used to the more bitter Robusta.
Poor quality food and coffee. Charged almost twice the prices on the menu, "because the menu is from last year". €4.50 for a €2.50 sandwich is one hell of a price increase! Slow service when not busy. Certainly wont be going back.
The bread was fresh, the coffee obviously delicious, and wow that orange juice! Everything about this place hit the spot for us.
My overall opinion: a bit expensive (coffee, I didnt order anything elseand not really friendly (or unfriendly- maybe waiters were simply not interested. The place is present in every Malaga guidebook I think so the expectations are much higher than the reality. There is a board on the side of the cafe showing all the coffee possibilities the place serves which is helpful. Additionally it is located in a nice area, locals say the Constitution Square is one of the most charming. Maybe this is the reason for the price.
I would have preferred my Churros golden cooked. Ive asked for "cafe cortado" and they brought an espresso macchiato. Sad for the size
I went there for breakfast and we ordered toasts with bellota jam, simple toast and a sandwich. In terms of the bellota toast not very good jam so if you you I would order a simple toast. The restaurant was quite busy at 10 am and its not very well organized in terms of setting. We just entered and tried to find a table. The waiters are very busy so it takes a while for them to take you order and the check. The other dishes look very normal but for a simple breakfast or to take a coffee in the plaza it can be a nice option.
Great location, the coffee with milk was ok, churros were disappointing, there are other places with much better churros. Fast and friendly service.
Decent food, decent service ... it’s convenient but for tourist looking for a decent meal in between touristing. If that’s you, come! If now, keep searching.
The bagel I had was very nice (salmon, egg snd avacadoand huge! Also came with waffle fries. Service was very efficient but staff a little intimidating
Must try. Coffee strong and good (for the half halfand churros with chocolate were great. Not the typical Disneyland churros, very plain and more savoury which was great dipped in the dark thick chocolate
Good food but was surprised to be charged for bread rolls which should ordinarily be part of a meal. No waiting period for a table.
Nice place, the oldest cafe in Malaga! Food was good as well, big portions!
Beautiful location but not the best churros i’ve tried.. they somehow tasted salty which was kind of weird. I also had a tuna omlette sandwich, which was okay as well. All in all you can say it is a nice spot but in my personal opinion not the best
Fantastic location in the heart of Malaga, a restaurant with long traditions. We enjoyed the sunny terrace in March, however the food was nothing special and the service really slow.
A great place in the center of Malaga. Classic decor with the addition of many historical photos on the walls give the character of this place. Waiters are very nice and helpful. The served churros and chocolate were delicious.
Great cafe for anything from breakfast to drinks in the early evening, with tables on the square and super friendly staff(Good sandwiches to go too!)
we liked the Churos but not so much the coffee. A busy place with nice view to the square.
Great Breakfast. Fresh Juice. Superb Coffee. You can sit inside or outside. You need no reservation. I will come back next time, when I’m in Malaga. The crowd is mixed - young and old people (it was Monday Noon in November).
I had paella and my wife had pea and pesto pasta. The flavours are typically Spanish, clean and very filling. Will go again. It overlooks the alacazama and the performance area - where Antonio Bander as began his career. He owns the top floor of the same building too.Very helpful staff and big, nice loos - nice bar too! Good place to get the sun on a windy day and eat overlooking some historic views showcasing moorish architecture. Will come again. 😊
We came to Malaga at 9:58AM and decided to go to this Cafe, because it was the first one we saw. Some tables outside werent clean. The morning menu was great, and I decided to order this baguette, with ham, etc. (you can see in the pictureand orange juice. The baguette was supposed to be in oil, and so when it came, there was too much oil. It was disgusting, I couldnt eat even a half of the baguette. We decided to come back to this place to drink later on that day, and had to wait 20 minutes for them to give us the menus. We ordered cokes and had to wait 10 minutes for them to bring us the cokes. Also, they never took the menus away from us. We waited for a waiter to give us the receipt for 10 minutes...We were here on July 16th.
Lovely breakfast in the heart of the city. Friendly waiters although service was slowish as they are run off their feet. Try a pitufo with jamón íberico. Tomato a must. Order your coffee the malaguenan way.
Cafe Central was our favourite place to have a breakfast and coffee on the way to the beach. They have a variety of delicious coffees and nice spanish food.Busy and heap Plaza de la Constitucion is a great localization right in the heart of Malaga.
Good cafe in a great position right next to the square, perfect for a coffee and a snack and some people watching. Service was just okay I had to attract waiters attention to get served twice and to get my water they didn’t give me, same to pay.
Cafe Central is a place worth a visit for every tourist who wants to know Spanish customs and history, as the coffee you drank 70 years ago has not changed to this day, still, coming from the same supplier. It is also a good place to taste the typical regional dishes (perfect for breakfast, luch and dinnerbecause the Cafe Central, it is also a restaurant and patisserie.
