Cafe Cariappa - Cafe in Āndippatti, India
Amazing coffee with proper roasting..enjoyed Americano on my first visit and cappuccino on the second visit. Kids enjoyed hot chocolate.Small place and cannot handle 10+ visitors at a given time.. but if you are a small group for 4~5 people you can sit and relax on the small tables..Staff was very courteous, warmth and friendly making the time spent a memorable one.
Everything is Great here.Carrot cakeBurgerLemo TeaCold CoffeeAll of them were delicious. The cafe is on the first floor
The place and the food is too goodIf you are visiting kodaikanal must visit this place
Tried to visit the place thrice last week. Always closed, even at noon. Most disappointing.
One of the best and cozy place to hangout in Kodai, specially when its raining, have a sip of Coffee here
This cute and cosy cafe is next to a Tibetan Restaurant near Kodai International school. This place has absolutely delicious carrot and banana cake . The coffee is too good. It is sourced locally from their own coffee garden. The lady who runs the cafe is very cordial. Fragrance of coffee and hot chocolate lingers all over the place. Although they have limited options in their menu, but everything is so tasty and delicious. Definitely worth a visit.
This cafe is a small space where Ms. Kokila very passionately talks about coffee trivia as she serves her customers little snacks and beverages. Great conversation and extreme care for the art of coffee making. It was totally worth all the kilometres we had to walk uphill to get there.
I ordered hot chocolate and i got the readymade hot chocolate that anyone make at home, I instead suggest jeba’s for the hot chocolate.
Absolutely delightful wee place to have some home made pastries and hot chocolate. The lady behind the counter was really nice to us and we ended up buying some cookies, amla in honey and soaps, just because she had a great conversation with us and wasnt pushy in trying to oversell, whilst making good recommendations based on our needs.Cafe mocha, hot chocolate, home made chocolate cake and Tosca cake were divine. Definitely a thumbs up and defo a must visit in Kodai.
The caramel cashew cake is out of the world. The owner is a lady and she is so homely and suggests stuff to eat. One of the best place so far in Kodaikanal
Cute little cafe down the market street. The difference is that they roast/brew their own organic coffee and it is good to get authentic tastes here. We regularly buy their coffee packs for gifts which are well appreciated (incl the jute gift bags!... It would have been easier if they were on the ground floor ...
We loved this place....that made us revisit this place after 5 years...same flavor in the carrot cake and coffee they serve....but the behavior of the staff was not so friendly..... she shows discrimination between people.....
Good coffee! I tried espresso and liked it. My wife tried capuchino, which was good too. Very small place though with hardly any place to sit. But then they do offer take-aways.
A quaint little cafe, had the most pleasant conversation with the owner! Good coffee and calm vibes :)
Nice little hole in the wall patisserie. They have very few seating space. Their coffee is excellent! Also picked up some local organic Honey which was quite good !The pastries were good, although I suggest the pastries should be served warm. We had the Chocolate Cake and Almond Tosca ( which was okay)
More than the coffee, Mr. Cariappa is a purveyor of fine cheeses and dessert to die for. No place to sit, but thats ok, take a doggy bag.
Best espresso in kodai. Cafe Cariappa has its own coffee farms, roasted and processed by them. The lady that manages the cafe has a great knowledge of coffee. Had a really great experience and a good chat about coffee. What got my attention was the antique’s inside the cafe. Good service and good coffee. Will definitely visit again.
To Get some best coffee at Kodaikanal town and experience the friendly service. Then take a walk to Cafe Cariappa! 😎
Coffee lovers MUST VISIT PLACE. Coffee provided here is equal to the one we get in some high tech coffee shops. As suggested by some reviewers, we also tasted carrot cake here and it was really awesome. I actually ate a full size carrot cake with a cup of coffee immediately after full meals. Its so good.
Best place for coffee lovers. Must try carrot cake, they have shakes and different types of cheese
We had a great visit. We were met with kindness at the door. The lovely lady who took care of us answered all of our questions and was super friendly. It was so cute and cozy in there. A must when visiting Kodai. They sell great coffee, hot chocolate cake and much more! Even coffee beans check it out.
Small and cozy place for a cup of coffee. Locally made coffee, tastes good, we bought it to have at home. The lady managing the store was polite and nice. Also do taste the carrot cake. Amazing.
Always great to visit and have coffee and more. This spot is a Gem of a Coffee shop run and owned by a genuine coffee lover. The Cafe has an amazing vibe that enbibes the traditional coffee ambiance. The décor is so welcoming, when you enter this cafe, one feels like one is in an another world. Away from the bustle, excessive car horns... One has got to try their Organic coffee from their very own coffee estate.
Nice place. Great coffee wonderful host.
Its a nice and compact coffee place. Had the cappuccino. Also bought some of their coffee blend.
One of the good coffee place stop visit on kodaiMorning coffee with some baked goods would be nice to haveA small place with limited seatingAs spoke to owner : beans are there own and they sell tooAsk for the story of the store and beansTravel along the line for different other places too
Very small cafe with nice cakes and coffee. Dont have enough place to sit though. But the staff is very friendly and coffee totally worth it.
The Cute n Chotu cafe...you will get the aroma of their coffee right on the street itself...lookout for the even smaller board on the first floor of the small building full of smaller shops. Cakes and other accompaniments are available. We had Tosca n Carrot cakes .. and picked up almond Biscotti for nibbles later on...
This place is a small cozy place to drink coffee. The lady on the counter, named kokila told us that she cooks cake that are offered by this cafe. We had carrot cake and tosca cake with our coffee which were delicious. If u r coffee lover, then this place is a must visit as coffee tasted very good as it was made from the coffee beans manufactured by cafe cariappa only.
A very good carrot cake they had. It was really good. Small setup, but a cute place. Missed the coffee due to power cut. Got their little overpriced coffee bag. but worth it. Best coffee in kodai
Must visit place; it is the best coffee I had till date and if you by chance get to meet the owner sure do spark up a conversation; also do get some of their unique coffee back home ; your welcome in advance 😌
Wonderful coffeeshop with delicious arabicas grows fully organically by the owner but a few kilometera away. Wonderful place
Nice place - tiny bit cosy. Open 1100 - 1830. Great coffee. Nice cakes to go with it. Good service.
Small place but beautifully designed and the taste is awesome. Carrot cake and their coffee is a must try.
Head here for a quick snack and coffee in central kodaikanal. Very close to the central town so a good choice while walking along the city.Try the banana cake and hot chocolate, it is to die for. Only downside is the place is quite small and cannot accommodate bigger groups. If you call that a downside.
They claim , this is a good place for authentic Coffee …This is a small Joint in the first floor of JS Heritage Hotel , very next to Royal Tibet restaurant …They offer Cakes also …. This place is like , sip your Coffee , and slowly pass your time …Went for Cappuccino …. It was so lovely , so Coffeistic ….. It was for Rs 100 … ( fancy price for the quality and ambiance 😀😀Then went for Hot Chocolate , which was for Rs 130…. It was nice , but not so admirable as Cappuccino
Its a cozy little cafe. The owner is very friendly. Do try the Carrot Cake here! Its delicious.
Opens at 11 (way past coffee time but...locally grown Arabica coffe beans, very good. Their cakes are made with half fruit juice / sugar and NO SWEETENER! Theyre great.
Very cosy, clean, small cafe. Coffee was good but not quite worth 90rupees for an americano. The carrot cake was very delicious but, again, overpriced at 140rupees. Very friendly staff. They have free WiFi, but youll get told to stop using it after 30 mins! Overall, a lovely cafe but a shame that its so expensive and you cant stay on the WiFi for very long!
A small cafe . But very good coffee and the owner is a very friendly and resourceful man . A must try place in kodaikanal for coffee lovers . Should try whatever the owner suggests everything in the shop has its own unique speciality. From a South American chocolate to US made cheese . Everything is nice about the place.
Regularly visited this establishment while in Kodiakanal in Summer 2016. It was fabulous. I loved the latte and hot chocolate. I also enjoyed the carrot and Swedish cake
Best place in Kodai for continental food. Love the setup and atmosphere (mini library, board games, toys for kids etc). Has wifi, could be a good place to work on your laptops. Theod fired pizzas are fine but their lasagna is among the best Ive had in India.
Small place on first floor.easy to spot.cozy little place fr a cloudy eveng! Sip their hot coffee n pastry n owner is a chatty guy who ll give u some insight bout coffee.
Small and cute cafe. The barista has the sweetest smile in the world.
Ordered a Latte, Hot Chocolate & Carrot Cake.Latte was just too awesome maybe the best I have ever had... Usually its way too Milky at most places but here the flavor of coffee and richness was what made it a great drink.Carrot Cake was delicious but a bit overpriced for the size.Hot chocolate was averageNice owner who if present would surely involve you in some nice talk on various topics and was a pleasure to have a word with him.Place is small and seating limited... Maybe instead of chairs having small stools would help the place to utilise space more efficientlyTosco cake was the other stuff that deserved a 5/5 apart from the LatteCappuccino was good but Latte steals the show hands down
Spent several days here when we visited Kodai. Great coffee. Get the carrot cake!
The place has limited seating, but food is so good! The Tosca cake, Carrot cake, Biscotti, Hot Chocolate, and Coffee are all awesome
Recommended on the back of the menu of a neighbouring restaurant, the coffee at cafe cariappa didnt disappoint! I had the cappuccino and my husband the americano and both were the small cafe☺☕☕☕🍰....
Small & cozy cafe...few good collections of coffee & simple cakes. Appreciate the way they effectively use their space
Very cute, cosy place. Tables are upturned barrels and i was pleasantly surprised to see brown sugar on the tables! Their cappuccino is not bad, and you may ask them to make it stronger or lighter as you wish. They also sell their organic arabica coffee as beans or powder, for Rs. 360/300g.
