Café Brandon - Bar in Amsterdam, Netherlands
Café Brandon in Amsterdam
Description
Music is great but WAY TOO crowded on Friday nights. Its shoulder to shoulder
After seeing “Let’s go Brandon” on one of their pos screens…we went elsewhere. Gross.
MoreNice, fair prices, and a friendly bar tender try to chat 😉
A beautiful setting to watch the sunset over the canals whilst enjoying a beer.
overpriced and worst atmosphere ever. avoid this and go to other bar.
Very impolite owner. Avoid.
We first came to this place as a joke because we have a friend named Brandon and we wanted to say we had been to Cafe Brandon, but it turned out to be such a cool little local bar! There is not much for seating inside, but that worked out because it was so beautiful out when we were there. It is pretty clear that this a local spot to grab a drink after the work day which gave a little buzz to the air as we sipped on our whiskey cokes. It is right on a busy little corner so there is a lot of people watching to do as well.
MoreThe owner/manager/server without uniform laughed in my face when I asked for a non-alcoholic drink. Is this what you call service in this nasty bar?! Not surprisingly the sunny terrace was empty.
MoreRemains a classic across the bars in Amsterdam. Especially in the summer has a lot of sunlight so perfect place to have your beer while picking up some rays. Interior remains outdated as ever but has become somewhat of a guilty pleasure by now for most the people I know. Has a new owner!
MoreOwner is VERY disrespectful to women. Saw him get very aggressive with a women and put his hands on another that stood there in silence. Ladies beware
MoreGreat spot for few drinks
Great beer and really beautiful setting. Ideal for 1-2 hour chat and drinking with a friend.
MoreBit small, super crowded amazing historic venue
Lovely bar with super cool tribal techno playing DJs. Friendly crowd. Will defo come back 😍
MoreFabulous place. Glan the bartender is the coolest ever
Canty & chirpy, cosy & cool bar. Recommend to combine wirh a pizza next door.
Very nice bar with unique interior.
Had beers on the canal at this place and really great chill atmosphere
Nice atmosphere, but barkeepers not friendly at all
Friendly staff, good beer options and good qualities, a good view… what do you want more from a bar ?
MoreThe waiter was unapologetically impolite. He created a unpleasant atmosphere.
A typical dutch brown bar. Dirty (they will serve you ice with the hands), interesting interior, awful-and-not-friendly service but hey... full of locals having fun. So either join that concept or leave. The best thing is that you can have an ok pizza next door.
MoreGreat little pub. Beer only and no got drinks like coffee. The Hertog Jan is a great pilsner. Good spot to stop and people watch for a break.
MoreCozy locals bar with a long history. Good place to pop into for a beer or two. They dont serve food but theres a good pizza place next door and an awesome frits and snack place one canal over. The staff is nice and the regular crowd is friendly.
MoreLeffe Belgium beer on draught. Cosy bar close to the Anne Frank House site. Old world setting with comfy chairs. Dogs welcome. Ideal for a quick refreshment.
MoreVery cool vibes, nice personnel and the DJ in the middle of the bar really adds to the awesomeness.
MoreVery good local café. Friendly staff and services. No tourist prices. Recommended.
MoreVery annoying people who are very much into what they are doing, walk through people and step on other peoples feet. The interior is pretty fun though
MoreFriendly staff, cool interior. Nice beers
Great spot, full of character and lovely beers. Well worth a stop off, it will put a smile on your face!
MoreNice beer. The oldest bar in the city.
Amazing bar. Really friendly people, cosy, nice music and a really good atmosphere. Difficult to find something similar 😉
MoreBeen there on a Saturday evening. Very good music, great atmosphere and friendly people., most of them are locals.
MoreVery small, which could add to the charm. But the place seemed a little dirty, all the tables had some crumbs/dirt on them. The glasses were clean, but the prices were quite high for what I was expecting. Also, you have to pay 1€ to use the bathroom, so dont drink too much here!
MoreGreat Bar, great vibe!
On the outside looks like a basic brown bar. But on weekend nights it turns into a dance floor with some of the most random but good music.
MoreNot just your typical Amsterdam brown bar. Absolute local hang and 100% one of the best spots to spend some time by yourself or with others over a few drinks and something very delicious from their menu. Plus it’s in the heart of the Jordaan.
MoreBar filled with locals, there might be some dancing envolved on weekendnights. 😉 Obviously one doesn’t take photos here.
MoreReally great local bar with some tasty beers and lovely atmosphere.
Bags of character. Great location in a beautiful part of town by the canals. Large smoking room which becomes quite the party atmosphere at weekends.
MoreNice ‘bruin cafe’ with good selection beers and liquors. Only downside for non smokers is that the seating area is also the smoking area.
MoreIts the perfect pit stop when bar hopping around. First get your head right "outside" then grab a brew at the bar and go sit on the movie theatre chairs in the cool and eclectic lounge room. Oh your welcome!
MoreThis place is perfect. Good beer, wonderful old world atmosphere, comfy chairs, friendly staff. This is the kind of place that makes Amsterdam special. Not to be missed.
MoreUnique, traditional, proper dutch beer pub. Lovely. Great atmosphere, special place.
MoreGreat place for a beer. Quite busy on Friday nights.. but for sure very popular with locals.
MoreOne of the classic dutch Bruin Cafes. It has this old school atmosphere. Mostly locals come here, and its placed next to a great pizza shop.
MoreHighly recommended to visit Amsterdams oldest pub. Amazing find meeting some lovely friendly locals on a lazy Friday afternoon. After stopping for one drink at 7pm we left after 10.30pm having been shouted many drinks from our new local friends.
MoreTerrace (mostly standingwith a lot of sun in the summer time. Reasonable selection of beers, mixed crowd. Lot of business people gather up for after work drinks on Thursdays and Fridays. Big smoking room inside so if youre not in to that dont visit this place. Toilets are messy. But most important thing: place is original. As in really: nothing was done to the decor for the last 30 or 40 years minimum. Typical Dutch brown cafe! Very cool.
MoreHad a few drinks outside on a partially sunny Saturday after roaming around the Red Light District all day. Great location and a really cool cozy bar.
MoreThe perfect dive bar with great draft beer, Leffe. Just 15 minutes walk from Central Station, Cafe Brandon is located on the corner of a canal/street intersection. The interior is classic.
