Café Babouche medina - Restaurant in Marrakech, Morocco
Nice and open people, who speaks english, spanish and probably more - it was no need for us, we but for some others might be.Good coffee, food, and good prices. Will come back next time.
Small restaurant with decent food.
Lovely vibes with soft guitar out the front, with no pushing, just warm welcoming vibes. We had two tagines and they were delicious
Really friendly and engaging service. The food was delicious. We really enjoyed our time here.
Friendly service. Nice and local atmosphere. Prices accordingly to quantity. Quality of food above average, but still not at the best level. Worth visiting.
We had the vegetarian panini, which is more like a shawarma or a toasted wrap here. It had a lot of eggplant in it. The prices were reasonable and the food tasted good.
We saw the place on Google with good reviews so we decided to try it and since then, we had dinner every night there (4 nights in a row!!Great food, good music and super friendly staff!
Really good place close to Jemaa el-Fnaa. Cheap and delicious food. The guy (which has long hairwas so nice, totally recommended!
Wonderful little place with super friendly staff. Really nice ambiance. Live music and the musicians were not only excellent but friendly. Food was pretty good and fresh. Prices were just right. I would recommend this place.
This is one of the bests restaurants that we have been in Marrakech. Fresh and good food, nice quality price and a space with an incredible vibe. And, on top of all that, Yasim is the star of this restaurant. A really nice guy and someone you can trust.
Tajin and chicken pastilla were amazing! Also the staff were super friendly
We came here because of all the other great reviews and they were completely right. A great little cafe in the heart of the medina, great food and excellent customer service from Yasim, who was warm and welcoming and made our lunch even more enjoyable. He also gave us local tea at the end of the meal.
Great place, good vibes and live music! 😁😜
Visited this cafe because of the reviews, disappointed no pizzas available and the chicken wrap was nothing special. The chips portion is very small.
Nice guys, amazing food. Very nice chicken tajine. Not pricy at all, good option to avoid the overpriced restaurants of the square.
Best restaurant on my trip through Morocco. The food and especially the salad are delicious. The staff is also very friendly. Went there twice because of the staff and the good food. Would go there again.
The food was awesome. The most delicious couscous I ever had. I was full and I wanted to still eat. Don’t miss the opportunity to go here. If you are a foodie lover this restaurant is a must. Great prices.
Amazing people, very kind and not pushy like a lot of other restaurants. If youre looking for a friendly place with a chill vibe you go here :thank you so much for a lovely time !!
great falafel, atmosphere and nice waiters :))
Falafel was really good (especially for the price), the waiters were great, and it was a fun atmosphere! Would recommend.
We found this in the street close to the square, we had 4 different tangiers , the taste are fantastic,
Delicious food for a great value 👍 lovely staff
Very nice place, waiters and food, with really good price.
Amazing food, friendly staff. cozy, quiet place with good vibe. Will come back definitely:)
Visited Marrakesh februari 2016 and Café Babouche several times. What a wonderfull small, very cosy place to sit, drink and eat something... Everything beautiful prepared and an enjoyment to try and be surprised. Loved the interaction with people there, those who worked there as well as guests... One of many beautiful places I never forgot and would gladly visit again☺️👍🏻I loved the green juice drink on the foto; unfortunately dont exactly remember the ingredients but dó know I liked it very much... (was it with lemon🍋 and advocado🥑?)
Excellent ❤️We came here 4 times in total and it was lovely, the food is good, the prices are very moderate and the service is perfect and friendly. We felt welcome every single time! PS: the music is amazing, cozy chart and film music interpreted in a typical maroccan way. We can recommend this place to everyone :-)
Best place to eat in whole of Marrakesh!! Very good food with excellent service! 10/10
Great food, great price and amazing host!
Very good food - authentic Moroccan (and for me a vegetarian). Lovely tangible, cous cous, salads. Been three times all very good. Very reasonable, nice atmosphere.
Tasty food at a reasonable price. None of the typical pressure or extra charges on tourists. We had a mix of couscous and Tangines everything was delicious!
Very friendly and nice staff in there.
No problems in communicating with the friendly staff. I ordered the vegetable couscous. The portion size is more than enough for one and at a reasonable price.
We landed here while looking for another restaurant and we are so glad we did! The morrocan dishes were really good (both the beef and chicken tajinesand the service friendly. The menu is varied and had a lot of options for our kids. Great value based on quality and will likely be back before our visit is over.
We enjoyed our first meal here so much we came back. Our experience was good both times. Attentive service. The soups are fantastic and the pizzas tasty.
The best place we visited in Marrakesh, really nice food with a mixture of Moroccan and western options. I had the chicken and veg Tagine which was the best I have had so far in Morocco (better than Nomad). €16 for two of us for lunch. Great service too.
Came here twice as a couple during our 10 day stay in Morocco. The food was amazing on both occasions and exteremly reasonably priced. We had the same waiter each time who was incredibly friendly and talked to us about Morocco and other places to visit when we come back. Would definitely recommend a visit here.
Brilliant food but let down by poor service. So firstly the food here was probably the best Ive had while in morocco, the chicken pastilla was amazing and so were the fries. The only thing stopping this being 5 stars is the service. We got seated and our order taken. Waiter was very friendly and asked about where we were from and where we had been ect, very nice. We ordered starters and mains. Me and my girlfriend both ordered that pastilla. For some reason one pastilla got served with the starters which is a little weird anyway, after we finished our started the second pastilla still hasnt arrived but we were assured it was coming. We awkwardly picked at the first pastilla as it was going cold, eventually the second pastilla arrived. I had also ordered a side of fries as I find the pastillas to be sweet so I like to balance them with the fries to stop the flavour getting too much. The fries didnt arrive until until we had both finished our pastilla which sort of defeated the point although the pastilla was very nice and not too sweet like some others I had had so I didnt really need them anyway, but still disappointing. We ordered crepes for dessert, after a few minutes the waiter came back out and told us no crepes, a little disappointing. The waiter was very apologetic about the delays with the food and without prompting your complaining from us took the fries off our bill as a gesture of apology. Despite the service I would still wholly recommend this place and would go back because the food was so nice and the prices are so good, the chicken pastilla is around 4-5 euros! I assume the service is not usually like that and we just got unlucky and the food and friendliness of the staff made up for it but I cannot give it 5 stars simply due to the food being messed around, but if youre in Marrakech this is definitely a spot to go. They also do pizzas of youre missing a bit of home food although I dont know how good they are
Really loved this place. The food is really good, the prices are much cheaper than other places. We went back several times! The waiter was very friendly!
Food is good. Pizza here is different from the typical pizza. The dough is crunchy and little bit harder, but still enjoyable. We had the tuna one and Quesadilla here was also very tasty.
My girlfriend and I came here after reading the reviews and spotted the prices were very low compared to surrounding areas and the place was really busy! Great sign! The portions looked generous and the food looked delicious so we waited about 10 minutes and got a seat.We waited at least 20 minutes after ordering our food for it to come and we were dissapointed to say the least, the food was all cold but we were hungry so we dived in and i have to say it was absolutely lovely, such a shame they didnt manage to bring it out hot - the fact that it was still great cold is impressive in my book!!The staff were an absolute delight, just a shame about the wait after ordering - what was realistically fast food - and the fact that it was cold. If the wait was shorter and the food hotter it would have been 5 stars across the board!! Very possibly just an off evening. We might come back later in the week for a second try!
Dinner was really good especially for the price. Very friendly personnel! If you dont need a luxurious atmosfere but great food and like a housecat then this is your place.
Great music. Great food. Friendly staff. Great prices. I recommend.
Rastaman vibration goes Morocco! We were having lunch there today. My girlfriend found this café via Google. And let me say: just go there and feel well. The guys really care for their guests. Due to some food allergies, they completely cooked something individual for us. The Tajine they made was really tasty. Shukran! Also the couscous we additionally ordered was very tasty. And yes, the background music was a rare Bob Marley live recording. Perfectly fitting to the laid back atmosphere.Merci beaucoup et à la prochaine!
We came here due to the good reviews but were somewhat let down by the food. Front of house was friendly and not pushy which makes a change to some of the other neighbourhood restaurants trying to pull in tourists.Bread was stale and chicken tagine was average. My partner had the omelette- for him it was a forgettable experience bar the music.Occasionally a live band will come round, play for 10 seconds really loudly and then ask if you can contribute into a drum.
Cute little cafe/restaurant in Morocco with great traditional food for a very very fair price. I had the chicken Tajine and it was lovely. The owner is a very cool guy, super friendly and hospitable. There is something very chic and modern about this place, yet the beautiful Moroccan culture is still present. Would definitely go again!
Nice relaxed atmosphere in the café, a welcome change from most of the pushy cafés in marrakech. The vegetarian pizza was great, the pasta was okay. Great prices for the food though. Would definately recommend for people that are looking for a tasty cheap-eat.
A bit doubtful at first, but the food is very good, and the staff very friendly. In comparison to most restaurants in near the medina square, the price is also good. Decoration is also very cozy. Unfortunately no nice view or terrace. Also the waiters are not so pushy as to get you to come in, as most restaurants are. Overall very good!
get a juice!! moroccan salad was really good as was the vegetarian couscous. Found the vegetarian tagine as well as the vegetarian soup to be like spiced yet somehow unflavoured. Service was fast and the staff were super friendly! Would return :)
Im not sure why this place has a good rating, its cheaper than the other restaurants nearby but its the worst food Ive had in Morocco. The vegetable couscous is completely plain couscous with bland soggy vegetables on top, and the chicken pastille was so hard and dry I couldnt cut it with my knife. I think it must have been several days old.
Each time I visit Marrakesh, Morocco, from the United States I visit and dine at the most wonderful cafe. The service, food, selections, and staff are welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Not only do they go above and beyond to provide exceptional service, but they ensure that yours is an unforgettable experience where it concerns dining.Marrakesh has become my 2nd home and Cafe Babouch is my number 1 choice for dining! :Great service!!
