Café Avellaneda - Cafe in Xochimilco, Mexico
Lovely place with the best coffee of coyoacan
If youre local run away from here, if you visit the city this is a tourist trap. It may be that the coffee is good but the customer service is classist and it is very expensive to be in the neighborhood.
Great coffee and also if youre adventurous, great "coffee cocktails" (no alcohol). Loved this place
Amazing, the coffee is the best I have tasted so far in Mex City. Cold drinks are heavenly. Pro tip: do not miss the drink of the day!!!Every drink is a piece of art...loved it...
Had a flat white and cold brew. Can’t stop thinking about both. The cold brew tasted incredibly fruity with almost no acidity. Best cold brew I’ve had! Flat white was perfection. Definitely visit!
Yes, one of the 2 best options in Coyoacán to get speciallty coffee.
Some of the finest specialty coffee in Mexico City. This space is an institution of beautiful Coyoacán.
The coffee here is a amazing! I ordered a double espresso and it is beyond amazing incredible all the positive words you can think of and the cold brew was to die for. I 100% recommend this place
Cool spot and great coffee. The guys are really putting in all of their efforts
Hand down, easy peasy, the best coffee in Mexico City. The guy who runs the place is a coffee guru and his flat white is the best in Latin America. When I come to CDMX this is one of my first stops. And if I am in another neighborhood I will travel to Coyoacan just to start my day with his flat white. I would give this place 6 stars if I could <3
This wonderful and unassuming coffee shop became part of our daily routine during our week long stay in the area. Met a few interesting folks who helped us bridge the language gap. Coming from a city with many local roasters (Victoria BC), we were really pleased when a local recommendation to visit this place was right on target. Bought some coffee to enjoy back home and share with some of our barista friends.
This is a very little but amazing place where you can enjoy a delightful cup of coffee, they have different drinks but the best is filtered coffee which is from different places and varieties the barmen are knd and they know how to prepare a nice cup
Came because of a recommendation. There was one barista. Wasn’t friendly at all and over charged me, which I found out later after seeing the menu. He probably thought I was just a tourist. I even tipped him.
Super cool little Cafe with the best latte I had in Mexico. The barista is wearing a suit and the service is super fast and friendly. Its just a very small Cafe, so you maybe have to sit outside. Highly recommend it if you are in the area.
I didnt think coffee could be mixed with such a variety of amazing flavours, but it really can!Had an Oat Punch and a Petunia, both really good - sit in and chill out whilst having a drink.
Always a great visit. Lots of character, cold brews are well made and unique.
Cute coffee shop, not too bad cortado
My favorite coffee spot in Coyoacan. The coffee is excellent and the pastries are delicious. It’s a small space and they do have to keep some distance because of COVID so there is even less space to sit.I do find it a bit strange that when you order your coffee to go, they don’t give you a lid. Not an ideal place to get coffee to go while you walk around and explore. They also have burgers from another restaurant you can order. Those are pretty good as well.I’d say this coffee shop is very much in line with artisanal coffee shops I’ve been to. The baristas take their coffee pretty seriously though it depends on who the barista is.I have a favorite who knows I’ve been going there almost daily for the last 2 weeks and as soon as I walk in, he knows exactly what I want to order.
Apparently forgot to give a review here. One of my favorite coffee experiences in CDMX or anywhere, really.(Visited in 2018)
Amazing coffee. If youre in the area it is a must try. Flat white, Juanito and Trago 1 were all superb.Definitely the kind of place to sit and enjoy but it doesnt take forever to get your beverage.
Really good coffee, lovely people ❤️
Too small place, but very good coffee. People who work there always forget what you order. Bad service. We ordered a few cocktails and v60, they just said that they forgot to prepare it. And they forgot to say sorry.
A very professional place; If not for somebody who likes coffee chains with a big name but lacking imagination and flavor; it’s a very small place with a big heart for coffee; very interesting menu with capable baristas. Good selection of artesanal Mexican coffee beans.
Love coming to this little crafty coffee shop. My boyfriend and I have made this our must go to place for our coffee every time we’re in town. Drink as are an experience and the baristas know their craft.
The coffee here is quite delicious and the prices are unbeatable. Would definitely recommend. If you like cold brews, make sure to order a double as the portion size is a bit small if you’re used to American style portions!
Come here every time I’m in Mexico City. Double down and get a cortado & a juanito; a super refreshing drink combining coffee and tonic water.
Attention to detail and interesting positions on the menu: coffee 5 stars. Unfortunately, I can’t give more than 3, maybe 3.5 in total for the service... One doesn’t have to be patronising to be hipster.
We tried Trago#2 & Té Sour, both are amazing!! Really enjoyed our visit. Highly recommended if you are in this neighborhood. Come get a drink after visiting Frida’s blue house.
Maybe one of the best places for coffee in Coyoacán. Really small place, but the service is good, coffee good and they also serve some pastries. Overall great sport to stop a d have a coffee while discovering Coyoacán.
Best coffee probably in Coyoacán!!Lovely Arabica coffee and chat maintained with an experienced and well instructed waitress about coffee species and properties! Its a must if you are a coffee lover!
A perfect coffee experience - I went here every day I was in Coyoacán and wish I could go again. Delicious coffee, prepared with love. Also, an added bonus, the drinks are served in beautiful ceramics - I even went to the Taller de Cerámica to buy my own.
Great Mexican coffees. The barista was very friendly and knowledgeable about the coffees. Highly recommend this place.
Our experience at Café Avellaneda this morning was exceptional. The barista really took great care in preparing our coffees. This little shop prides itself with the small details of coffee prep and making which makes the difference. They know their stuff - the coffee was amazing.
Ok, so this adorable coffee shop wont jump out and grab you but it was amazing! We went 2 times and the same pleasant gal made is amazing coffee and her presentation was amazing.
If you love coffee, this is a must-do in Mexico City. One of the best coffee drinking experiences Ive ever had, the attention to detail, and the quality of the unique Mexican coffee is one-of-a-kind. Also the environment is extremely special, go early when they open and try and sit at the bar for the best experience.
One of the best coffee shops in Coyoacan despite being a small place. I recommend the Flat White
A magical place in the heart of Coyoacán. Its super tiny and cozy. Coffee beans are Mexican and the baristas are superb. Make sure you buy some grains on your way out, and also experiment with other quirky beverages. Oh! And they have non-dairy milk available!
With a small place and far more people visiting this it, Cafe Avellaneda is simply the best coffee shop in all hole Coyoacán: you can come and ask for all the amazing coffee beverages that the baristas make with precision and love. And also they have options if you don wanna drink coffee like four varieties of tea and other infusions. What are you waiting for come and live the experience of specialty Mexican coffee in an icon place than this?
Café Avellaneda is a referent of coffeehouse in Mexico City. The place is small and tight but do not try to have a sit, however the coffee is excellent. They have different extraction methods and mixes, from Oaxaca, Chiapas and Veracruz mainly. The repostery is good and they also have different drinks with alcohol and coffee. Do not hesitate on ask for an advise to Baristas, they know what theyre doing.
Little cozy coffee shop in Coyoacan. The staff is super friendly and efficient. Loved their coffee. The drinks are also very original and tasty. The pink pepper and cranberry cookies are very good too. A must for coffee in Mex City. Prices are good as well.
The place is very small: some bar stools and 3-4 tables with bench seating. Had to wait for a little bit to order, but after I got my double espresso, the small space and the wait didnt matter. One of the best coffees I had so far in CDMX.
One of my favorite coffee shops in all of CDMX. Quality coffee and quality service!
Very cozy cafe that serves excellent coffee! Coffee were served with water, a costume that I have only encountered in Italy. Foam stayed in tact until the last drop of coffee. The foam from the milk matched perfectly with the coffee in harmony. This is a place you should sit down rather than take it to go.
My favorite coffee shop in town! Their V60 and some creative drinks are well performed by the hand of their professional baristas! And the tiny place can leave you with peace and relaxation.
The place is small so you are going to have to stand in line. The coffee is SUPERB and you would be hard pressed to find a better batch anywhere in the world. They have some really interesting cocktails but I am kind of a purist and always go for the espresso and a bag of beans.Worth the trip to Coyoacán just to get a bomb cup of coffee. These guys are kind of famous within the national coffee scene. Get it while its hot!
Small Alliance with some of the best baristas I have met. The coffee is good, and the alternative methods are very entertaining and enlightening. It does get very crowded at times, so bring your patience.
This is my go to coffee shop for v60, the smell of coffee in my favorite more acidic blend is my favorite of the city. They serve it over a cute tray that includes a small cookie if you just get Java but they have other options for your personal fix or pastries as well. Only about 5min from centro Coyoacán
great 3rd wave cave vibe - service, nice little bar. however, even though the barista executed a expert ritual in presentation, the espresso itself was quite disappointing. the coffee was thin and bright as when the grind is too coarse, although some of that may have been attributable to the coffee itself. still, for DF, it is one of the best ive found - more attention to the espresso itself could make this place a hidden star.
Super cute artisanal coffee shop that specializes in pour over using coffee beans from Mexico. The presentation is beautiful, your coffee is poured into glazed ceramics; and the ambience is lovely. I was there for an hour and only saw locals come in. They also offer small pastries, espresso type drinks, and a bag of beans to bring home. Prices are awesome.
Great coffee and service. Serving great options of local specialty coffee in espresso and pour over options. A bit tight on space if youre there with a few people.
