Cafe Árabe - Italian restaurant in Marrakech, Morocco
Their rooftop is a great spot for the sunset, and their cocktails are good!
YumYumYumWhat a great place for local food!! Yes they have so Italian stuff too if you can’t see couscous anymore .. but it’s a great place and has a wonderful terrace upstairs !
We had Moroccan food which was very good, the interior design is top notch and the patio was beautiful.
Great place with mostly tourists visitors. Nice view on Botanical Garden and rooftops of Medina!
We arrived without a reservation and the guy on the front desk scales us saying they were fully booked. He lead us into the restaurant past a table "we have a group booking tonight" and then into a ln empty room. The room filled up with other walk ins after us and the group never arrived..!Besides that strange experience the food was nice and the setting was also very nice. We had Italian food which was all very nice. Had a bottle of wine too for a decent price.I would definitely recommend this place particular for some Italian food and alcohol and maybe book ahead to avoid the cold welcome that we received...
Love this place! Amazing food, amazing views, delicious wine! Right in the heart of the Medina. This was the only place during our visit that we came to twice!
Impressive. The food. The view. The cocktails. The ambient. Everything is just on point. Just great.
Great food, just a bit more expensive that the average, with more “European” prices. Lovely roof top terrace.
If you want to enjoy a food serve with the smoke of the cigarretes of other costumers, go inside... I cannot understand why I had to eat my food with the taste of a malboro
Went twice for drinks, once for meal. All ok, not amazing. Loved the mist to cool us down. Not much of a view and food ok. Good music and numbers of people.
Beautiful rooftop views of the city and nice setting for a cocktail. Food wasn’t great (the Moroccan dishes were ok and Italian dishes were quite plain). Would recommend for a cocktail and snack more than a meal
Food is well presented and tastes fine but had better and cheaper in Marrakesh, service is excellent, terrace has nice views on rooftops and is equipped with water misters to keep you cool, which is really nice. Ambiance is upmarket with cocktails and music in the background.
My husband and I came to Marrakech for 3 nights total and each night we found ourselves at Cafe Arabe to wrap up our day with a fresh, cold, libation. The service was wonderful, each waiter was incredibly friendly and smiley. They all remembered us each night and would come over to say hello. The location of Cafe Arabe is wonderful with a full rooftop view. Its directly across from Jardin Secret so the view is lush, green, and gorgeous. We stayed each night for the sunset and the view did not disappoint. The rooftop also has cooling misters to keep you feeling refreshed and not overheated. There was a continuous lovely breeze also keeping us cooled. The beer couldnt have been fresher or colder and the Aperol Spritzes were well-made and refreshing. We ordered appetizers to share and each time they were delicious with a slightly different flavor tipping us off that they must be made in-house each day. Definitely our favorite restaurant in the Medina, when we go back to Marrakech we will 100% find ourselves back at Cafe Arabe.
We were there end of June. Really enjoyed the friendly staff and service. We actually ended up going there twice. Food was excellent. Being vegetarians as well, had options. One of the waiters is a mirror image of Cristiano Ronaldo:Apparently lots have said the same to him.
Best authentic Morrocan food we ate during our time in Marrakech. Beautiful interior and absolutely first class service.
The best spot for a rooftop beer! We spent hours here. Drinks are really well priced (for morocco). They bring breadsticks and olives. Service was amazing! They have misters to stay cool during the summer heat. Pizza and pasta was good, but not wow.
Good environment, lovely service, but prices are very high equally compared to surrounding riads and hotels .in euros prices are equivalent to UK Ireland. Food is less traditional and more westernized, music & vibes too. If you want to have more a feel of where u get fed up n left and pay same prices , thats the place to chose.
Our pastilla and prosecco were great. However the mixed starter salad was tasteless. There was also a bad sewage smell in the restaurant. This is understandable and can happen sometimes in a few places. However we had to repeatedly asked for something to mask it .. fragrant candle/oil. As we finished our meal (we were v hungrythey brought out some incense sticks. Pricey meal a total of 900 dirhams or equivalent of £70. So basically can do better. By contrast.... Our meal at Al fassia cost the same, we got more courses and wine and a v pleasant service too!
It is a half italian half morrocan restaurant. The view is lovely and they have morrocan music as well. Staff is lovely as well, speaking various languages. I would definitely go back. However if youre looking for pastilla maybe try a different restaurant. I recommend the morrocan soup.
Great decor. Attractive staff and customers. Prices not unreasonable. Ordered the frutti de mare pizza and it came without cheese. Fine if its seafood pasta, but pizza should always have cheese, no? Also ordered an Old Fashioned cocktail and Im pretty sure they used scotch instead of bourbon. Maybe I was unlucky and I ordered two things that werent to my taste,. Im glad I went despite the not-quite-right food and drink. This would be a great place to go on a date.
First night we ate there was fantastic, decided to go back the next night as food was amazing unfortunately one of the waiters was quite rude on the second visit as we arrived at 21:45 and was surprised we wanted to eat! Completely put me off and left not sue why he had a problem.. maybe because we could afford a second visit? And didnt like that as I assume wages arent the same as in Europe, I even left a good tip the first time round
We had a wonderful meal here one afternoon! It was raining and windy so we chose to sit inside rather than on the terrace …but the terrace looked amazing! The waiter made suggestions and we each got a different tagine and I got the taginia….a lot of meat, but flavored very well! I would have liked some vegetables with it! I would highly recommend! We all enjoyed our meals here!
Nice place and friendly and welcoming personal specially Yahya.Good food
This place is great. Lovely decor and excellent food and good service. I would highly recommend a visit but you would be advised to book in advance.
Dropped by for drinks and lunch after Le Jardin Secret. Great vibes, great food, and tons of cocktail options. Definitely go to the terrace.
THE WAITER SPIT ON MY SALADI went there with my wife. The terrace is beautiful and the food is ok, but we had a terrible experience with a waiter.I asked for a Caesar salad to a waiter. Another waiter by mistake brought a Caprese; no problem with that, I just told him that I hadn’t order that, and he said no problem, that he would change it. Everything good. After a minute, the first waiter comes angry and starts shouting that I ordered a Caprese. My wife and I were shocked with his reaction and said I definitely asked for a Caesar salad, but he kept shouting in front of everyone that I had said Caprese, and he was stubborn that he was right (he wasn’t, but it wasn’t a big deal, his reaction was). When he brought the food, my salad had a clear spit on it. The waiter was looking at me laughing and defiant all the time.We paid, and left the place with the worst feeling ever.I would definitely go to some other cafes or terraces around, where they treat you well and the food is much better.Sorry for the rest of the service who aren’t responsible for this waiter’s unacceptable attitude.
Multilingual staff make you feel very cared for. Menu is a collaboration between an Italian and Moroccan chef. Beer, wine, and cocktails are also available. The lamb couscous with vegetables was divine, and the ricotta and spinach stuffed cannelloni pasta was luscious. Sophisticated decor and beautiful views of Marrakech. Makes a lovely destination for watching the sunset.
We had milanese and pasta. Food was great. Service was good even though they were really busy. Nice atmosphere.
We had breakfast here and it was very nice but also substantive,l. We ordered the light and the Moroccan breakfast between two of us, but really one breakfast on its own is sufficient for two people. There was great service, with nice staff. The fruit salad the harira were particularly nice.
Lasagna was really nice, but the cheesecake was from a supermarket. Overall it was OK but so many better places to eat.
Friendly staff and excellent food - they do a mixture of local Moroccan and Italian cuisine, plus some of their dishes incorporate a bit of both styles to good effect. Pleasant roof terrace, although most of the tables are uncomfortably low for eating. Reasonable prices for the clientele (definitely touristyand type of venue.
Very good place for lunch or dinner. We stopped for relaxing while walking around the big Marrakech bazaar. It was really nice sitting on the terrace that has very good view. Staff was friendly and kind. I have to say that I think toilets were the cleanest toilets in the Marrakech that smells bleach feels very good for me. Definitely recommended.
We had our 35 anniversary and enjoyed a great evening at the Cafe Arabe. Thank you so much for the wonderful dinner and the special peace of cake. You were great.
I loved to visit this place during my time in Marrakech. The food is delicious and the staff gives their very best to offer a good hospitality and experience. You taste the Arabian World with a little extra. I recommend this place.تقديري وشكري الخاص للطعام الرائع والضيافة والخبرة
Sit on the rooftop terrace, take in the sunset, and enjoy a delicious meal of either Italian or Moroccan cuisine. They serve alcohol or fresh, tasty juices, if you would like. Service was attentive and prompt. The pasta plates were large portions and the bruschetta was worth ordering. We saw many a pastilla go past our table and they also looked quite delicious.
We stopped here for lunch and drinks during a very busy day and this welcoming roof terrace was great. The food was fresh and tasty, the service slow and it took us a few attempts to get the correct drinks (language not a barrieras the waiter was rushed off his feet.
Rapid service, amazing food, great wine and affordable! Loved it here, during the day and especially for dinner on the patio. So romantic and also kid friendly. Highly recommended!
One of our favourite restaurants in Marrakech. Food here was quite authentic and tasty. The service was a bit lacki, the staff seemed slightly preoccupied but we were looked after. Reasonably priced and a must go. They also have an amazing terrace!
Had lunch here in the cooling ground floor courtyard. Service was good and the food was in general good. The warm fried chopped eggplant entree was delicious (what spices did they use???but the vongole pasta was a disappointment(lack flavour, lack salt and clams were very tiny). The cafe affrogato I had was yummy. Prices are higher(closer to prices in central EU)
A very nice and clean place to have your drink or something to eat. On the ground floor there is an indoor garden and upstairs a terrace with a stunning view. Tryied the bruschetta, the kofta with beef and the pasta. It was a decent meal. The best choice for ice coffee in Marrakech, among others places that ice coffee was a disaster.
Great little location with beautiful views over the rooftops of Marrakech. We had a lovely time with great cocktails and fantastic food but the best part of it all was the staff who were nothing short of perfection! So friendly, polite and helpful. We went without a reservation, however it is probably better to have a booking as the wait time was a little bit long (absolutely fine though as we were able to sit at the bar whilst we waitedbut perhaps not ideal if you are looking to eat immediately.Would definitely come again!
Service was quite slow but really worth the wait. A range of dishes prices differently, so could order something more fancy and therefore more expensive but they have some more affordable options too. Staff very nice and helpful.
We stumbled upon this delightful place and booked a table. It is one of the few places in Marrakech that serves alcohol and has a friendly atmosphere. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious. The dining area and toilet facilities are very clean. The price of food and drink is a bit more than other places but worth it. We have visited a couple if times now and have not been disappointed. Thank you!
Lovely design, excellent service and the food was very good. I was looking for some a bit different after being in the country for 2 weeks and this definitely satisfied that. Italian primarily but they also offer traditional dishes. I though the pricing was good compared to many tourist restaurants here. I enjoyed a main, fruit smoothie, water, and dessert for only 210.
A very interesting bar restaurant in the heart of Medina. With indoor and outdoor sittings, arabian style ambience and luxurious alike environment. Adequate food options, local and international. Good variety of wines and cocktails. Encountered staff both polite and not that friendly. Fair prices There is wifi. Cards accepted.
The rooftop terrasse is nicely laid out with a variety of seating areas. It had been raining when we went for lunch, and was a little windy so the plastic sidings were all down. Cosy atmosphere. The food was good, except for the veal chop, which was very tough. Rather older than a calf I think, as it was also very large. The briouates mixtes were tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed the tanjia de boeuf. Although the place was getting busy, it took 15 minutes to get the bill, and despite asking twice, I had to go to the bar to remind the waiter. Bathrooms were clean. OK for a one-off experience.
Went in for a few drinks on a few occasions and ate there one night.Been there before on previous visits and food has always been fine. But Fillet steak this time was overdone which is a pity as the rest of the meal was good.I will return but wont order Steak 😊
The patio and rooftop in the evenings are such a great option to relax. I would recommend to book a table in advance to avoid constant table shifting because of other reservations.Staff is nice and very polite. The prices of drinks are moderate. You can manage to get some tapas and bottle of local wine for 30 euros what seems to be reasonable.
Rooftop bar is very relaxed with a good selection of drinks including Moroccan beers. The views arent that great but the service is very good. Beautiful building and courtyard. Well worth visiting to relax in the evening and watch the sunset.
Not a bad view from the top storey. Food was ok, but not especially spectacular. Service was fine too. Soup was quite appetizing, even though it didnt look like so.
