I love this place. The staff are kind and gentle and very efficient. The green decor is calming too. The food is brilliant. Vegetable tempora so tasty. Edamame perfect. But the chicken nutty curry is the nicest ever! Thoroughly recommend this place.

Cafe Amaranth really is a secret hidden gem. Firstly you come into the lovely restaurant which is so warm and homely with lovely colourful walls. The staff are very friendly and make sure you’re welcome in their restaurant. They don’t rush you and make sure your food is good. The food is very fresh, and you can taste every flavour in the dish. When I was in Thailand, I always ate local food. This is the closest I have had to that flavour. Vibrant, spicy and fresh. Definitely pop in and enjoy your food.

TLDR: Great food but order through Deliveroo.Amaranth offers fantastic Thai food - we’ve regularly eaten in the restaurant but more often order takeaway these days (beef Panang curry with rice and supreme mixed starters; highly recommended). We generally like to order direct, however, this evening it took two full hours from order to delivery despite living an 8 minute drive from them. When we called to ask after our food we were told it’d be 30 minutes, despite being asked for neither name or order number…We’ll carry on ordering from them, as the food really is fantastic, but we’ll use Deliveroo as they seem to prioritise those orders.

This place is our favourite local thai in south London. The food is always fresh and delicious and they once accidentally sent the wrong item in my deliveroo order and were so apologetic and did everything they could to get the right thing to me (with zero help from deliveroo whos customer service is always rubbish). They got their own driver to send me the item instead which was delicious as always :very kind and helpful staff

Really cozy Thai restaurant. The Thai food is done for very western taste but is still delicious. They use very fresh ingredients and had amazing service.Papaya salad was not too spicy. Pad Thai was really nice and spring rolls had a semi crunchy and soft consistency which was good.Interior and atmosphere was nice and it conveniently located near the station.

Thank you to the staff. The food was lovely and staff was friendly. It was our first visit to this place. We had chicken satay and duck spring rolls to start. The beef salad was excellent. Very reasonably priced. We will recommend this place to friends and family.

My friend is a vegan and asked for an Aubergine dish without the prawns. They picked the prawns out the dish therefore the dish wasn’t fresh or vegan friendly.I ordered a pad thai without the nuts as im allergic and it came with the nuts so it had to be sent back, it was also drowned in sweet chilli sauce. The waiter was apologetic and they expected full price despite the mishaps. When we complained we got 5% off. I wouldn’t go back, the one star is for the waiter.

Service here is awful, waiting hours for starters… didn’t even bother to wait even longer for what would probably have also been a cold and revolting experience. The owners are rude and aggressive and the cooks smoke cigarettes in the kitchen!!!!

I live locally and really recommend this restaurant. Atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, staff are very friendly and service is always fast. Most importantly, the food and drinks are well-priced and delicious! If you want an enjoyable meal where you can chat properly without shouting, its a much better bet than the surrounding pubs.

Incredibly tasty Thai food. Full of flavours. Their pad thai is one of the best I’ve ever had. Tried via takeaway during the c-19 lockdown but will definitely be back once they are open for dining in!

Ordered a simple 4 item meal through Deliveroo. The food was tied securely in a white plastic bag. The food was delivered lukewarm and missing 1 of the 4 items. I gave the establishment grace as it was a Friday night and called them up to enquire about the missing item. The kind lady on the phone committed to sending the outstanding item as soon as possible using their own driver to ensure rapid delivery.40 mins later and only 2 miles from the restaurant the simple item hadnt been delivered as promised. It was our first order and try of this establishment, unfortunately it will be the last. Id suggest whoever is in charge should go back to school to learn how to count.

Went to Cafe Amaranth last night, overall not worth the money. Service was generally good however they brought out the wrong starter and then delivered our main course to the table behind us!Food was mostly bland, particularly the vegetable dumplings. I had the tofu Pad Thai, in which the tofu was soggy and unappetising. My partner had the Pad King stir fry which was also bland. However, the cocktails were tasty and inventive.Although the service was swift, we continuously felt as if we were being rushed through. Overall not a great place, would not recommend.

Absolutely delicious. Portions were so generous, we were able to have it 2 days running. We loved the shared platter as a starter, Tamarind duck and green curry. Highly recommend for a Thai in Earlsfield. Will be back soon.

I loved the vegetarian Laksa noodle soup and will go back for it. Quantity was huge, fairly priced... could not finish...each spoon was full of flavours the best Ive had. But a bad experience some confusion with the vegetarian wonton soup order... realised it was prawn midway my daughter was eating it...she felt queasy when realised it was prawn and the staff just did nothing about it. When it appeared on the bill too staff member showed me the menu how no vegetarian option is there and I had to playback my discussion of checking with waiter that if the vegetarian option was there and after that confirmed the ordered. Eventually the manager removed it from the bill but yes it did made me feel sad as I was simply loving my laksa soup. The desert was over priced and not great. But yes, it was just a one off experience...the food is great and I will surely go back for the laksa soup.

Fancy and cosy at the same time, with green touches. Lovely to go during the week, for a quick bite at lunch or any evening for cocktails and nibbles with friends. Despite being delicate, the food here is very tasty and well balanced. Most of the dishes tried so far, have literally been delicious. Portions range, satisfying everyone and the price is honest.

We arrived at 19h30, the first meal was served at 20h30, and only me got my plate, so I was eating alone for about half an hour, my friend had to watch me eat until her first plate arrived at around 21h00. Besides, none of our instructions were taken into account. They seem to prioritize deliveries over the customers present on premise. Worst experience ever!

Nice venue and service but the food was terrible. Bland, oily and salty with a real lack of variation on the buffet menu. Another reviewer said it’s like Iceland supermarket food and I thought that was spot on.

Gone seriously downhill. Satay chicken and prawns arrived with no satay sauce, starter “platter” incomplete. Called to follow up and got a very rude response. Sorry that say that this 15 year+ customer will be going elsewhere from now on.Customer satisfaction key when there is so much competition on your doorstep.

Absolutely loved the food, the last time I had Thai that tasty was in Bangkok! The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. We went in when it was quiet at 7pm but the restaurant soon filled and I can see why it’s a local favourite. I cannot wait to go back!

Food is usually good but I left before I sat down today. Restaurant was half empty but they refused to let us sit anywhere other than right by the door. Its 3 degrees outside so there was an icy blast each time the door opened. Customer service #fail.

Very tasty and great value for money! The starters (chicken satay, prawn crackers, fish cakes and spring rollswere good - not too oily unlike at other places. Mains were really good. The lamb shank massaman was delicious, but arrived slightly colder than I would like (but I like my food piping hot). The beef panang curry and the duck pad krapow (my favourite dishwere lovely. However, these dishes were labelled "three chillies" and so did expect it to be spicier than it was. The coconut and lemongrass rice is a must! Had dinner for four withstarters, mains, wine and service that came to £102 total. Will definitely be going back (or getting delivery!)

I come here regularly and am never disappointed at the quality of food, or the excellent service. Some dishes are very spicy which I love! Enjoying working my way through the menu. Not sure why there are many mixed reviews. The food is delicious and restaurant is casual. Perhaps people were looking for something else?

If I could give this place zero I would. Avoid. The food is straight from a freezer section of a supermarket. We had the chicken dumplings for starters which were at best average. My spicy pad krapow&safe was bland and the chicken was from a freezer. Tasteless and rubbery. The icing was the beer was also warm. Avoid

Popped in hear on a recommendation from a friend who gets the take away from here. Over all I found it disappointing. The venue is nice, clean, comfortable. The service was quick and friendly but none of this made up for the food. The mixed starter was pretty average, didnt feel much different from what could be had from the frozen section of the supermarket. The main was a pretty uninspiring mixture of prawns, some veg and some sort of sauce with rice.maybe it was a bad night but im not going to be hurrying back. Its no longer BYO either.

This place is a great little Thai restaurant. First off its BYO - so theres a saving right there - the food is still really well priced though, so you dont get stung in other areas, theyll even put your drink in their fridge to keep it cold for you. This place is next door to their own Thai supermarket, which im told is where many of the local and not so local Thai restaurants source their ingredients from, so you know they are going to have the freshest and largest range of ingredients.Service is polite and friendly, however due to the factors ive just listed you generally need to make a booking if youd like to come on a Friday / Saturday night, and im talking ideally a good few days in advance. Try and get them to put you upstairs is you can, downstairs can be a bit dark.

We came here because of the positive reviews. The chicken starter was processed chicken and there was no taste of lime or lemongrass. The texture was like stale fish finger. The blast of fragrance and flavour when you sip some tom yum broth just wasnt there unless you concentrated hard and imagined it. The noodles were soggy. Again, the chicken in the chicken curry was processed. It was expensive for what it was. Baffled as to why there were so many people there.
