Piazza della Consolata, 5, 10122 Torino TO, Italy, Torino
Historic locale serving chocolate-based drinks & desserts in a cozy, wood-panelled setting.
A must in Turin!A genuinely old cafe when you must try one of the most typical drinks of this town: the "bicerin" coffee chocolate and cream!
Extremely long waiting time. only 3 waiters for a full terrace. we waited 15 minutes just to get the menu and then 30 minutes more of waiting for them to bring us our order, which they didnt. We ended up leaving.
A disappointment and we didnt even have to wait in line...Disregarding the fact that it is overall expensive for Italys standards, the Bicerin was good - thick and creamy chocolate - but the toast with chocolate, dont ask for it. For 6,5€ you get just a piece of bread with chocolate inside, nothing else. Ive had better at home. The croissant had a citrus flavour, which was also a disappointment for someone expecting a good and sweet croissant filled with the famous gianduia. It only leaves us with the Torta Bicerin that felt like just another chocolate cake, not worth it (specially taking into account its price).
One of the oldest and best preserved Turin’s historical cafes. It’s a very small place but it also boast a nice terrace facing Guarino Guari’s baroque Basilica Della Consolata. It’s worth tasting the famous Turin “Bicerin” if you haven’t yet and a assortment of “Biscotti”
It is a tourist trap: overpriced, restricted menu, and the service is the laziest ever. Took me 30 min to get a toast and a coffee. Torino has so many better places. Avoid this! Oh, and the bicerin? Nothing special at all. Any cappuccino around town is better.
I came over to try their famous bicerin. There was no space inside so I asked waitress if I could sit outside. The waitress didnt want to serve me or let me sit outside because it was raining. Even though there was people sitting outside and tables are under big umbrellas. The waitress was shouting at me in Italian. I have never ever met such such rude waitress. I left regretting my decision to come over there. Shame on you Cafe Al Bicerin
No trip to Turin is complete without having a Bicerin. This cafe has one of the best ones in the city
Tried bicerin and loved it. Canadian here so tried the drink for the first time. Should have looked at price first. It’s € 7.5.
Bicerin is Fantastically Delicious and a quintessential Torino drink. It is a must have if you visit. This is the signature place to have the best in all of the city.
Excellent coffee, but given the prices and the location, the service could really be better. Staff was quite unfriendly and kept forgetting stuff: first, the waiter forgot to bring the menu, which we asked for three times, then the water we asked for twice, and so on. We didn’t feel very welcome here.
Tradicional coffee from Turin in a old coffee house, perfect Bicerin for a cold mountain weather
The bicerin coffee ☕ is a little expensive 7,50€ but its worth it because the history and tradition behind it and also is delicious! Sometimes you have to wait to get a table, they have English menu. Beautiful ambience and view of the church!
The bicerin is quite yummy but the prices are way too high for this place and the staff was very unfriendly. I would put it in the category of a tourist magnet with little charm.
Bicerin is the best invention ever. Well done Italy. Highly recommend 👍👍
Very nice experience! The ladies are so polite and the interior looks so classy, like youre in Orient Express. If youre a couple on a budget, order just one bicerin with cookies. Thats enough sugar and fat for both of you.
Tucked away and a little hidden but totally worth the walk. Get the biscotti with the Bicerin, nice to have something to dip in the chocolate. Enough cookies to share.
Went there with my mother on advice of a popular online guide. Was also initially impressed with the founding year of the cafe. The two waitresses were rude and unprofessional. The coffee drinks were subpar and overpriced for what they were. The platter of mixed biscuits was likewise subpar (supermarket shelf leveland overpriced.
Beautiful traditional place in the heart of the Roman quarter
Historical cafe in the heart of Turin where you can try the real bicerin in an unspoiled atmosphere. This is a must if you visit Turin!
We waited about 45 minutes to get a table inside, outside tables were available almost immediately. A beautiful place with marble tables and a counter from 1763 as is the wooden floor. We have the merenda for 14€ each, delicious and well worth it. Would certainly return.
Great waaaoooh, absolutely gorgeous coffee drink bicerin
It is not reliable. On the google maps, they mark that we can take away but when we arrive, and after 20 minutes of waiting, they say that they do not serve for take away. Then, when we ask for information, they are not friendly. We expect more for a traditional Italian coffee shop with a long history of existing.
Excelent cocktails in one of the most popular square of Turin at an affordable price.
Very nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, family-run place, very delicious offerings. A bit pricey but with a reason. The visit there made my day, strongly recommend !
Instead of Bicerin, I ordered summer special iced chocolate with whipped cream and it reveals how good their chocolate really is. It is dark, intense and smooth and with subtle bitterness of the Cocao. Not very sweet. Perfect! No wonder people rave about this place. It is really worth a try.Plus even the though I am alone and occupied a table that can fit 4 people, they didn’t try to cram other customer to my table.
Had the original bicerin which everybody should try out for sure but be aware that it is absolutely not a light drink! Go there with some space in your stomach or youll be overwhelmed by the mightiness of such a drink.
Delicious! Loved the classic Bicerin drink and the chestnuts with chocolate sauce! Perfect for a chilly evening.
WOW..... coffee chocolate creamWhat could make this better?Only the amazing people..Grazie mille......
Historic looking cafe with friendly staff, sat outside, people watched and listened to the church bells next door. The bicerin went down well, a chocolate and coffee concoction, smooth like Guinness. Selection of biscotti on the side.
Amazing stuff. We ordered the Il Bicerin. Everybody needs to have at least one cup each
Clearly a must when visiting Torino, the Bicerin drink will set you back some €7 but it is very nice and the small cafe (which has only space for 10 insideis super cute. They have seats outside also which must be nice during the summer.
A historic cafeteria, famous for the bicerin coffee since it was created here. It is definitely worth a visit. The bicerin was really tasty and the location is very beautiful.
Cosy spot, a bit too touristic for my taste..I had the sad chance to come on the day before their holiday closure and there was half of the menu that was not available.. A bit frustrating but I would like to try it again when they have the rest of their menu available.
A must!! They were getting ready to close but were nice enough to let us try their famous chocolate drink. I loved it! It wasn’t as sweet as milk chocolate or as bitter as dark chocolate. It was just right!!
Known for the drink "Bicerin" (hot chocolate). Very tasty. 4 Stars because of the pricing.
One of the best places in Turin to try typical from Turin Bicherin. Bicherin is typical and people drink it during the winter. According to history the drink was created in this place by the merchant, who on Sundays going out of church, couldnt find a place to drink that special drink that would make him feel good. It worths trying once you are here. If you are lucky, you can get a place in cafe, if not, you can always have a drink in the shop next to the cafe and drink it while standing in front of church. We tried it from the shop as the queue to the cafe was too long. Try it out once you are in Turin.
I was told it was a must do in Torino. Quite right, the bicerin itself is delicious. Very rich coffee/ hot chocolate topped up with semi liquid cream. The cookies (flat sort of waffleswere amazing. The queue is a bit insane but it was rewarding finally getting a seat inside. The ladies who work there are nice enough.
The place you have to go in Turin to try the famous Biscerin drink. This was my second visit and it’s always a pleasure although this time we had about a 30-45 min wait and an 18€ bill for just two drinks and some cookies. But what can you do?
You should not miss this wonderful place with amazing « Bicerin ». I love the taste of the Bicerin , one of the best drink that I’ve ever tried .The price is reasonable but not so cheap , compare to quality it’s worth to try it for sure . Be ready to wait in que at least for 20 min.Highly recommended
Nice small coffee in very quite and beautiful square not far from Turin center. Great for having breakfast and specially trying the famous Al Bicerin Café. I didnt like it much my self but I think its worth trying and at the end its matter of taste. But definitely I enjoyed having a breakfast there there.
If you are visiting Turin, this place is a must try! I ordered a BICERIN and chocolate croissant, both were very delicious. I’m told that this is the place that makes the best BICERIN in Turin.
Not really worth the money and the wait.Pasteurise are of limited supply, if you go there in the afternoon you won’t get any.Panini is cold and very average.Hot chocolate is not bad, but you have to wait at least ten minutes to get one. When I was there I saw a waitress knocked over one hot chocolate when bringing it to the table, the replacement was instant, which is a mystery to me.The overall experience was not good. Wouldn’t recommend it.
Very picturesque place with beautiful buildings around. This district is very specific because it transfers the atmosphere of Italy of 18th century. But the prices are high. Al bicerin was special and unordinary.
Simply a must for all who happen to be a visitor in this marvellous city. Al Bicerin is a small cafeteria with a long history and tradition of making "Bicerin". This drink is made out of three layers: chocolate, coffee and cream. Very low on sugar and super hot. It just the most delicious thing that every coffee lower will appreciate.
Lives up to and beyond its reputation. Small but perfectly formed. Please visit!
This is a must visit if youre in Turin! The Bicerin is amazing and the home of it here in Turin, why not go to where it all started. It is amazing and served with biscuits if you choose. You will want more, its that good! The cafe is next to the chocolate shop too which is beautiful, small and warm. The staff are friendly and helpful. Worth sitting outside on a sunny day. Enjoy
Historic cafe/bar with original bicerin. It’s a mix between chocolate, coffee and cream. They have some sweet treats but NO meals. There’s a perpetual queue outside for the tiny 6-table cafe. Unique experience though
One of the most magical / amazing places I have ever been to! Sitting in a 255 year old business was amazing, and the Il Biceein was deliciuos.
Terrific drinks from year 1763 with nice homemade cookie! Must visit for some travellers visit Turin.
Tasty, but not exceptional, original drinks and cookies. Place is very charming, with the marble table tops and view of old buildings across the little square, and service is very friendly too. That ambience could make it worth the about 16euro youll be paying for two; it certainly was for us.
