Cafe - Cafe in Porto, Portugal
Very old-fashioned place and not very welcoming. Staff was rude, drinks were oke at best. Would not recommend.
I really enjoyed the drag queen performance. There is minimal consumption (confusing system with cards which you should not lose). Smoking is allowed inside
A classic in Porto. Always worth a visit
The place is nice and the music is good but the staff at the bar was super rude and it was total chaos when ordering drinks and trying to pay for absolutely no reason other than lack of planning and zero customer care. Hopefully will review again once they improve on both these points.
I just dont like these setups - you enter and get a card for drink stamps. Confusing and unnecessary. Why cant I just pay for my drinks like a normal place? Makes me feel like its a scam or a trick.
Rejected at the door because we only wanted a drink at 21:30. Despite the place being mostly empty.
Nice cafe restaurant but turn into a dance drinking club during the weekend. Laid back place nice indoor decoration.
One of my favourite spots in Porto. Great vibe, good music & a cool crowd!
The staff is completely racist and elitist. So its good to know beforehand. Unless you want to comply with this.
Top!
The place is great BUT and that’s a real BUT, they give you a piece of paper at the entrance and you need right away from that entrance point to ask to be added on the list for the show taking place later on. Otherwise, you’ll end up like us. First arrived but not able to see anything and vividly banned for no other real reason than receiving 0 information whatsoever.
The place is just amazing with a seating down area bar disco SMOKING AREA and another bar. The crowd is great, all sort of ages, drinks are affordable and a great place to meet people mainly gay 😍 but not just. Respect is abundant! Absolutely recommended for a drink or a few.
incredible food and live music 🎶 to accompany this wonderful new venue.
Cafe Lusitano is a great place to go. The staff was friendly, the staff queens were fabulous and the door man was very nice and informative. We were about to leave and he told us to hang out just a few minutes longer because they were about to start another set of performances. 10/10 will be back again!
The food was dry and overpriced for what you get. Besides that the music was annoying loud. The positive point was the waiters where nice.
The best!!!! Caipirinha Black is very very delicious and the atmosphere is very nice and this is a must for Porto..
This Bar was Awkward and unfriendly. Drag queen was oddly unfriendly at the door. Staff generally unwelcoming. Odd atmosphere. Drinks were nice at least. Impressive décor, just a shame it felt unfriendly.
Show up late , around 1:00 is the start time , lots of places near by for prefuncOld school gay bar and dance floor ,
Good atmosphere. Not advertised as a gay bar but at least Wednesday has drag shows at 23:30 and 1 am. Relatively empty before the shows.20s to 30s crowd.
Honestly, I was a bit too far gone to comment on the door staff. I had a great time with some exceedingly friendly locals and very obliging bar staff. Music was good, too
The woman at the door and the security guard were so racist. I didnt feel welcome at all. Inside was ok but a bit unorganized when I tried to pay. The show on the other hand was aweisome
Interior design is great. The music, however, is a real let down. You enter thinking youre going to dance til dawn and end up getting bored by lousy house mix of random not-so-well-remembered pop songs. I mean, who wants that in a gay bar? Where is the Saturday night fun?
Bad music, boring night, a lifeless crowd and the place is so outdated. It seriously needs a refurbishment and is very dull. I give 2* only because my friend liked it here but the owners have made little effort it seems to keep it up to date. I left after 1 drink
Cool, retro interior! When we were there, they had a Lindy pop event, so we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the dancers on the dance floor!
Very cool gay bar in the city! Amazing music, the crowd is around 25-40, pretty modern decor. Just dont go before 2 am (like anywhere in Porto btw)
Great night spot! Had a few drinks here with friends.Highly recommended.
Dont go to this bar its disgusting I went yesterday for couple of drinks and we wanted to go today and they stopped us for no reason pretending that there is a private party... the women she was in front of the door was so rasict
Entry is 6€ and drinks are in the price included (until 6€). Music is really nice, I liked the DJ a lot, he played from old music until todays charts (most of pop music). Is a huge place but at this Saturday was really crowd.
Exceptional music, awful environment with loads of smokers. I was under the impression smoking had been put on its place outside pubs and clubs in Europe. My clothes got that disgusting hellish smell.
Great gay /gay friendly bar, music was very good and recognisable, drink was reasonably priced, 5 euro minimum spend which is fair as no cover charge.definitely one of the better bars in Porto. Will be back
Music at New years party was quite boring. The space is nice and prices are good.
Stunningly beautiful bar with amazing music!!! Drinks are reasonably priced.
Nice place. Good music. Empty on a Wednesday but it promises for a Thursday and weekends
Amazing! Not that many girls but its still good music, nice atmosphere. I think it would make an spectacular date night
Coolest gay bar ever. There’s a unique atmosphere there, particular concept...very bohemian. I hope to come back next the summer
Upscale queer bar with dance space and oh so classic disco ball. Good spot for after dinner drinks. Wood decor not quite as intricate as the nearby Livraria Lello but nonetheless a refreshing change of pace. Comfy leather seats and tables. Collect drink card on entry and pay when leaving. Large video screens above the wooden panels together with abundant mirroring creates an 80s style nostalgia. Anyone who has seen Ettore Scola’s 1983 film ‘Le Bal’ will immediately engage. Music (both programme and quality of sound systema bit disappointing given the potential for this venue. Also, I think it would be awkward for single guys here - not much personal interaction and a few wallflowers looked lonely/lost. Was with my hubby so we admired the decor while sipping so-so port wine and left after about 45 minutes. A relaunch here could be a keen move.
Nicely appointed venue in an accessible spot. Bar staff were ok, door staff...not so much. We were there on a Friday and yet the place never really got going. I was there with my boyfriend but I think it would not be comfortable for singles.
Civilized LGBT bar. Nice selection of drinks. Acceptable prices. Staff attitude medium. 3 different rooms with dance floor in the middle. Gay guys a bit self-conscious and critical of others. Like Maus Hábitos, it is better not to go alone. Couples and groups will feel more comfortable.
The music and environment were good and the place seemed promising. However, when it came to service, it lacked immensely. The cocktail menu was short and uninteresting. We order some red wine, but none of the ones in the menu were available so they offered us an alternative. To our disappointment, the wine was cheap and tasted like vinegar. We returned both glasses still full and were still charged 6€ for something un-drinkable. We left only ten minutes after getting in. And they allow smoking inside, which I consider a big no-no. Would suggest anyone to look for other options before entering the Cafe Lusitano.
One main dance floor, but it has fun pop music and an overall great atmosphere. Also a cool easy system where you pay for your tab all at once at the end using a card.
Great gay bar/club. Here one can find a wonderful relaxing place to sit and enjoy a drink and/or conversation. A dance floor and another bar area at the back.
Amazing gay club with frequent events and parties. Awesome place to dance and rather affordable prices, meet people, socialize and have fun
A very elegant bar-club with fair prices. Always a very good atmosphere with mixed enough crowd. Smiles are everywhere.
Spacious bar with an old-fashioned yet stylish interior design. Youd expect to sit next to Humphrey Bogart if only he were gay. Or alive.
I usually dont give bad reviews but this bar really deserves one. A presumptuous place that doesnt live up to the minimum expectations. Expensive drinks, horribly prepared (a mojito made with lemon instead of lime, bad rum, little to no sugar, at least six huge ice cubes and a couple leaves of peppermint? Not even mixed? Six euros, in Porto? Come on!ancient music and rude staff that only speaks Portuguese. Only silver lining, a very nice bartender that was really attentive and helpful. Mixed crowd, coming in all shapes and sizes as its normal in what is supposedly "the place to go" in a closeted city. Too bad its really not a place where to go. We endured ten minutes, than we couldnt help leaving.
great if u wanna have a night out... despite the bartenders.. could be nicer and trying to pretend they like their job...
It is the only Gay crowd bar in Porto, but it is the best as well.Good service & great music.DJ & dance floor.Smoking & Non-smoking area.Drag shows some times.
Nicely decorated place with a fun atmosphere. Drinks are really cheap. If you want to have fun it might be a great option.
TERRIBLE. Horrific door staff who curse at and physically assault tourists. Expensive drinks and bad attitude- its the exact opposite of why people visit Porto. Stay away!
Gay friendly crowd, good music, centrally located intimate venue (a revamped old grain store), elegantly decorated... BUT *extremely* smoky, to the point your eyes will stink and your throat will be rough by the end of the night.
