Café 103 at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong - Cafe in Hong Kong, China
Went here for the afternoon tea, it was a good experience. We didnt manage to get a booking for a window table, but they had a cancellation for a window table and they let us move to that spot. We appreciated that they were attentive to our situation and went out of their way to move us to the better table. The tea was also good of course, but the service is what stood out to us!
Decent but can tell the hotel’s struggling. Food, service, environment definitely not as polished nowadays and like another person said the furniture is surprisingly dirty. Hope the city’s re-opening can bring back some life to this place.
Its aftermoon tea but you only get one cup of tea. The food was ok but nothing special but presentation was cute. Its great being on 103 floor but there really is no view as the restauranth takes it. Service was good, nothing special. There are so many better options available elsewhere for less then $700
It was fantastic evening with excellent food and service. It was my wedding anniversary and the cake you gave my wife was such a nice touch. Thank you once again and we will see you soon.
i had a wonderful lunch in Cafe 103 that day, the staff arranged me a very nice seat. the food was very fresh, and tasty. I would like to praise the staff Practick, he greeted me as a titanium member, and he is very detail minded, he was not disturb me when i was in the call. And he was very polite when he talk to me, ask me if the food and the environment meet my expectation. Thanks him for giving me a high standard service in the dinning.
With a beautiful view of the Victoria Harbour, the buffet lunch here is not too expensive, and the desserts are also very attractive.
It is my first time to have the pre-ordered cake and it is very good. The mille feuille is the best i ever had😱.Very rich custard (u see the MF didnt collapse after cuttingwith vanilla fragrance and chocolatey aroma. They have thin layers of chocolate in between. And made with High quality fresh fruits.1lb = $468 = 5 peoples portion. Please reserve your cake quota for Ritz Carltons.
Overall the service from the restaurant are come to standard. But for my experience on 28 Jan for a lunch buffet, there are few area to be improve.- No. of food choice, especially for the cold dish of seafood like crabs or oysters- Roast Beef or hot food. Some of them are overcook and cant eat.Looking for an improvement for next visit.
Great view & service but food was terrible. We had the tea set and it’s the worst in town. Will nvr go back.
I genuinely cant believe the reviews of this place after the experience I had here yesterday afternoon (15/12/2021). The entire thing was horrible, from start to finish, made even worse by the fact we had booked for a birthday for someone in our group.First, we were sat at a table where the view was completely obstructed by a giant pillar, despite there being other empty tables available. Shortly after, a waitress dropped a cake onto the floor right in front of another table and picked it up with her bare hands. When our afternoon tea sets arrived, they had spelled the birthday guests name wrong on the plate, and when we asked them nicely to correct it, the staff didnt apologise (or say anything), they just begrudgingly took it back to the kitchen.Since there was no table space after the food had arrived, I propped one menu against the above-mentioned pillar, after which a waiter rushed over, snatched it back and inexplicably scolded me: "Dont do that. That is very dangerous."...What?After two of us finished our coffees, the same insulting waiter told us we werent allowed to change our drink selection, despite telling us at the beginning that we could drink anything. Then, when he returned, he was rude when our deaf guest misunderstood him, said we werent allowed any more drinks, and proceeded to roll his eyes when we asked for water. For the other guests with tea, the staff promptly stopped filling their teapots with hot water with an hour left to spare, so they too ran out. Seriously, your policy is just one cup of anything for the entire 2-hour seating?!And I havent even gotten to the food yet. I am not a picky eater. But if theres ever an example of a restaurant clinging to its companys name to justify the extortionate prices - this is it. EVERYTHING - I mean EVERYTHING - was bad. And tiny. How do you take dishes with such few ingredients and make it taste worse than the sum of its parts? Rubbery lobster tart buried in cinnamon powder (why?), egg sandwich that neither tasted of egg nor bread, the most watery, vile cheesecake wed all ever had (but I suppose the gold leaf on it was the value there), a black forest thing in a shot glass with a cherry on top that looked and tasted as if it had been sitting in a fridge for several weeks, and an array of other things that were so forgettable, I dont recall what they were. But you get the picture. To add insult to injury, it was $468 each and they had the audacity to charge for service. YOU, the Ritz-Carlton, have a duty of care to uphold under the company name and you only delivered offensive staff, awful food, and a terrible impression of Hong Kongs standards when it comes to hospitality. Shame on you. None of us will ever be returning to anything under this brands name again. We highly recommend W group, Fortnum & Mason or literally anywhere else instead.
Really amazing HOTEL, VERY HAPPY & ENJOY in this hotel 🏨
Scary ambience, dirty furniture. Can’t imagine I’m at Ritz, didn’t even wana lay arms on!! Average food, can make more bad comments but was already shocked speechless by the chairs.
Easter brunch ... stunning view... friendly staff... good quality of food
Loved the lamb chop (very soft and juicyand butter chicken curry by indian chef Nek Chand at Cafe 103 lunch buffet. Also Nek was nice to chat with and gave special attention. The cost is approx 500 hkd per person, which is worth for indian, Chinese and western food with plenty of dessert options and a complimentary drink. loved this option in Ritz Carlton for lunch.
Food quality is good and staff is friendly and attentive. If you get a window seat, then its even nicer, otherwise you have not much from the views.Food selection is okay, but not as much variety as I expected.
Went there for a lunch buffet. They do not have a huge range of food but overall quality was good.Pretty impressive with the cold dish- shrimpsWe had also enjoyed the dessert very much especially the creme brulee
High tea here was the absolute best day ever!! The views, the beautiful dining area - just unreal like something out of a dream. If the price is concerning, ask to split one set. Totally worth it!
Amazing view from cafe 103 ! The ambience is very nice and I instantly want to act like a bourgeoisie lol . Mostly impressed by the glass wall and the high ceiling , not so much on the afternoon tea set . Every time I tilted the tea pot , tea came out not only from the spout , but from the lid too . Scones were very nice though . Staff were friendly and helpful .They are doing staycation promotion at the moment , so I was given a 50 % discount on B& B rate. Not bad ~
I recently did a staycation here with my husband and decided to try the afternoon tea. I was fairly disappointed as the whole experience didn’t meet up to the standards of the hotel. The service was lovely but the reason for the 3 star was:-The dessert cakes werent nice nor fancy-The savory were so small or for vegetarians just a piece of beetroot on a stick (we ordered fries on the side because we were hungry)-The teas were just bags that werent special-They served the scones as an appetizer before our drinks or teas even arrivedThe only thing that turned my experience around was that we asked for the scones to be brought out at the end of our afternoon tea experience and the scones were some of the best weve had in HK. I wouldnt recommend this afternoon tea for the price.
mazing view, the Christmas Afternoon Tea Set is a unique experience in Hong Kong, recipes and tastes are original and specials.
High quality dinner buffet with nice view. Very good and hearty service
Dinner buffect may not have lots of options, but most of it taste good.
Not a very great experience, we requested for vegetarian afternoon tea. When tea set arrive dessert were absolutely delicious but savoury snacks were like small one bite size bread piece with few cucumbers, chopped tasteless mushrooms. It was huge let down. Lack of taste and creativity in savoury snacks.
Came here for the Sunday lunch buffet. Good seafood offering especially the oysters and the shrimps. Good roasted pork skins and juicy prime rib, then finished with a hot bowl of laksa. The dessert is ridiculously delish too. Also youre on the 103th floor so dont forget to enjoy the view of the harbor either.
I am glad to be here with my three of my friends today to try the buffet lunch at the chain hotel Ritz Carlton. The price of the buffet lunch is $598 +10% service charge and we are fortunate to get your hotels $1500 cash voucher, so we first set foot on Ritz Carltons Cafe103. I really cant imagine that there were so many food styles for the buffet lunch. The seafood also provided lobster and oysters, and it was also very fresh. There was no selection of low-quality ingredients for this prestigious hotel. The quality of oysters is also comparable to the taste of we had in Australia! In addition, there are many styles of hot plates, and there are all kinds of international cuisine! The number of desserts is also very refined. We have compared the sweet quality of Ritz Carlton and other hotels, and Ritz Carlton is even better! Therefore, we feel that even this lunch is expensive, but we are impressed by the food, the waiters attentive service attitude, the constant addition of water to us, and the change of dishes. Of course, it is worth mentioning that this Victoria Harbour landscape is really unforgettable and unforgettable! At last I would like to thanks Ritz Carlton HK for giving me and my friends a very important memory of life!
I am happily to be here with three of my friends today to have a lunch buffet at Hotel Ritz Carlton. The price of the lunch buffet is $598+10% service charge and luckily one of my friend got $1500 cash voucher , so we can have a unforgettable lunch at Ritz Carlton Cafe103. There were many kind of food for the lunch buffet. The seafood was very fresh and I recommend lobster and prawn it is delicious. The quality of the food was high , the customer services was good and we feel very comfortable. Even tough the lunch is expensive but we can enjoy the view of Victoria harbour , the delicious food also the services, everything is worth. At last , I would like to thanks Ritz Carlton Hong Kong for giving us a unforgettable time and memories !
Fantastic place for a special occasion located sky highat Ritz-Carlton Hotel. We went there for all you can eat seafood buffet and were not disappointed. There was a good variety of seafood, including sushi stand, but also more traditional Chinese dishes, like bbq duck, pork belly and mapo tofu. Spectacular views of Hong Kong make this experience pretty special.
Nice service and food! Will return soon 👍🏻👍🏻
Don’t come for the food. Tried buffet for lunch on a weekday, it was not meant to be cheap and it wasn’t. You won’t find great food in buffet and rightly the food weren’t great. I like buffet for the choices although I don’t really eat most of the food. I just like seeing all the food there and I could live with “not-so-great-food” as long as they were fairly OK but I’m afraid I couldn’t even say they satisfied my pretty low threshold. Food fell far below standard in terms of choices and taste, even giving no thoughts to a supposingly fancy restaurant in a 5-star hotel. One of the worst dining experience in terms of food. Service was alright. Desserts were decent. View was stunning. Have never seen Hong Kong quite like this. Understandably you have to pay extra bucks dining here just for the view, still it was not simply overpriced, it’s like hell when the food were not edible. Good for people on serious diet or not eating at all who have no place to give away their money. Just a small note, eating here don’t earn free parking at Elements.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed our first visit to Café 103 at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. The seating area is quite nice and serene enough for you to take in the amazing views offered from the 103rd floor overlooking Victoria Harbour. Food selection is debatable. Although quality was definitely on par, variety needs improvement for the lunch buffet. Prices are what you would expect from hotel buffets in the city center. All in all, the overall experience was good.
Great value with all things considered (dinner buffet had unlimited lobsters, crab, oysters, shrimp, custom sushi bar, at least 20 different micro desserts). Drinks not included besides water or coffee/tea but you can pay an additional 100HK dollars to have unlimited drinks like wine.Restaurant has a beautiful backdrop being on the 103rd floor. The staff was super friendly. If you want a seat by the window, you may have to do a formal dinner service instead of the buffet as we were on the second level. They also include a 10 percent service charge.
Great experience, food and service. But there are only a few tables besides the windows so you wont be able to enjoy the breathtaking views while eating even if you seated at most of the other tables. But even the bathrooms provide a great view.
A high tea that was worth the experience. It was a worthwhile indulgence and was much appreciated. Enjoyed the presentation and had great photographic opportunities. Service was superb. Friendly staff. Ambience...quite cosy and relaxed. Great family time and casual conversations. Shame Hong Kong didn’t have clear skies on our visit. View was still amazing especially at 103rd floor. Whew! For special occasions...commendable.
***Expensive(HK$500BUT stunning views and good food***At HK$500, Cafe 103 might just be one of the most expensive lunch buffets I’ve had (but not by a big margin though😊).But the stunning views might justify the price. Food didn’t disappoint either 😋. Of course, in order to enjoy that view, it’s important to request for a table near the window...while making the reservations over phone 🤔 .Important to note that Ritz/JW Marriot membership got me a 10% discount (gold level membership might get bigger discount)😊Coming to the food....some of the STANDOUTS 👍🏻were:- Oysters/Lobsters- Fried Shrimp Rolls- Mini Burgers- Wok Fried Beef with pumpkin and Truffle sauce- Indian Fish Curry- BBQ Pork and DuckThe Oysters and Lobsters looked super fresh and they were the first things I pounced on 😃.The FRIED SHRIMP ROLLS were really good! 😋. The outer layer was super crunchy, with the softer shrimp inside it.The Mini Burgers were also good, with the crunchy mini-buns and a beef patty that could’ve been somewhere between Medium and Well-done.😍The WOK FRIED BEEF with PUMPKIN and TRUFFLE SAUCE was certainly worth multiple trips. The beef was soft and literally melted in the mouth.😋The INDIAN FISH CURRY tasted great😍 but some people might want to add just a little bit extra salt. I think they made it that way to suit a the diverse taste-requirements of a large buffet crowd.👍🏻The BBQ PORK and DUCK had a nice caramelized skin while juicy meat below it. I made sure to pick 1-2 pieces of them each time I got up.😃The desserts section had a wide variety of cakes, pastries, fruit cups, chocolates, etc.😋The service was also top class. The staff were attentive enough to suggest I pay with HSBC card as it would get me 10% discount🤯👍🏻....but then I revealed that I’m also a Ritz Carlton member (same membership number as JW Marriot).... so they suggested I don’t need HSBC card because the Ritz membership itself would get me same discount. ⭐️ So I was able to use my other banks card which had Asia Miles linked to them😍! Without the staff’s advice, I wouldn’t have known this info. 🌟
Ive been here for afternoon tea with my wife to celebrate our third anniversary. The wether forecast was typhoon, but luckily it was sunny and we have really precious time here. As you can see the photos, the view of Hong Kong is really, really great and the staffs were very kind and professional. You can enjoy one tea with free, limitless hot waters. The Machino bear shaped food server was so cute, and my wife was very very exited with him.One small tips here - if you want to take a good picture for the Hong Kong bay, go to Mens toilet. Among the places, I think its the best place to take a beautiful Harbour side. Also, you can bring the rest of foods if you want. Just ask to the staffs.Anyway, thanks for the all kindness of the staffs again and again.
Discovered Cafe 103 as a top listed place for high tea; chose it for offer of grand views and a Ritz Carlton experience.Views were good not grand, service friendly but under-attentive, and food satisfactory but under-impressive.Best views are at either end of floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows. We were grateful to get a table at the balcony edge, as we did not have a reservation. However, decorative metal grating obscures the majesty of Hong Kong Island; pity they cant be retracted or a less obtrusive feature put in place. Got a pleasant downward view of Star Ferry terminal and visiting cruise ship.Service was welcoming and friendly, with an introduction to the Godiva biscuit offering. Tea and food arrived in reasonable time, and waitress kindly took a photo of us. As subsequent waitress topped up my partners tea pot with more hot water, I regretted getting hazelnut hot chocolate -- while it was delicious, no refill offer here! Yet theres only so much hot water you can refill a tea pot; complimentary fresh pots of new tea should be provided (considering the price of this service). The sweet biscuits and savoury sandwiches were good, but nothing to write home about. The chocolate scones with chocolate raspberry jam stood out, as did the green tea biscuit. We werent in a rush, but had to wait a while to get our bill. But I left with a high note -- the views from the gentlemens toilets are jaw dropping awesome. Best view Ive ever had from a urinal!
I believe it’s one of the highest restaurants in the world! The view is incredible!!! Make sure you come there in the evening before the sunset and stay for the dinner, while watching the night changes the view! Our waiter was very punctual and polite! Service wise this one of the best places in Hong-Kong! Food was nice as well, but not really filling... maybe shouldn’t have come here feeing that hungry!!!
If there is a negative star rating, I would give -10 stars. Maybe it should only stay to be a cafe that only serve coffee, not a restaurant serving buffet. I went there for a dinner buffet on 12 Jun 2018. It is worse than the buffet at a 3 star hotel or even average Japanese buffet in HK. We got 5 people and all of them agree that the food there is terrible. Not sure how it earned the stars from, may be it was once a good restaurant, but right now it is a totally irrelevant. Dont trust the ratings.Seafood was not fresh. It was very dry and taste as plain as rubber. Food choices were minimal, only 4 types of sashimi and plain as well. Seats were limited where only a couple with window side views. It is technically a runway rather then a restaurant.Services are comparable to an average HK style canteen. We were asked to fit into a table for 4 given that we have 5 people. The waitress still insisted that it can sit 5 people, but it is obvious that the fifth table cloth was covering half of the other two. We were only provided with an extra retractable table to the original one. Can you imagine this with a so-called five-star hotel restaurant?Maybe suitable for a cafe only, but definitely not for a dinner buffet. It cost HK$7xx, I wont go there again even if it is free.
For the price, the W kitchen buffet is a much better choice. There are only a handful of tables with views at the 103 Cafe, and there are quite a few of tables placed right next to busy walkways, with pretty much no view.Food was alright, but compared to the W hotel that is right next door, choices were very limited. If you insist on dining at the Ritz Carlton, book early for a nice table.
Incredible. We did the tea service here and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Its on the 103rd story of the hotel so the views are ridiculous. We had nearly the entire place to ourselves, and the tea and food choices were ridiculously diverse and incredibly tasty. Its definitely a must-see if youre in Hong Kong. Make your reservations through email and you wont have a problem.
Amazing views, great service, really good desserts, decent buffet. Expensive but worthy.
We had a wonderful brunch buffet here. Elegant and really high quality food. My favorite items were the roast beef and the salmon sashimi. Both were extremely delicious. The desserts were also fabulous. Items such as the cheesecake were not too sweet and did not leave me feeling too heavy. All in all an amazing experience.
I went here for afternoon tea. The service was good, food was good but it is really overpriced for what we got.
Great view and delicious food. The service could be better and the food could be a little less expensive. There are hundred of places in Hong Kong where the view is breathtaking so I do not think payer 600$ for a few pastries and a tea is reasonable. I recommend for the experience of eating that high in the city, not for the food and service.
Love the aerial view from Cafe 103 sooooooo much!!A nice place for gathering. Gorgeous afternoon tea set and excellent service.
The servers were nice and the signature chocolate tea set was just wonderful. If you need a sea (window side )view table, you are suggested to reserve two months ago especially for weekend or Sundays.
The view is breathtaking. I had an afternoon tea all with chocolate and mandarin due to the new Rooster Year. It was good, but you just cant help but to take pictures of the view - its way up above sea level. My Sophie bag by Josefinas looked incredible.
I am probably being a bit picky but first is first: you have to go here for the views!Second: dont go here for the afternoon tea! It was very disappointing, I was expecting a perfect English tea, but it was meh!!! At a 5 star place... meh shouldnt be applied. Everything was with chocolate and mandarine, I guess I understand the concept, we are at Chinese New Year... but where were the scones? The sanduíches were simply not that good, the sweets were ok, but not as I expected... well overall I payed for the view and that fill me up... as we leaved almost everything else ... :)
Great location, amazing views and good food... though I still think that The Chocolate Library (preceeding this same venueserved a nicer dinner and tea set!Wonderful place to dine and tea with family and friends though! Be sure to book there early for the fireworks display!
We went for afternoon tea. The view was great and the quality of the food was too, however I couldnt understand the chefs singleminded menu. Six separate deserts, all passion fruit themed and the recommended tea was also. Having such a narrow variety of flavors was disappointing and ultimately detracted greatly from the experience. We couldnt finish all of them, not because they werent good but because of the sweetness level and fact that they all tasted so similar to one another. Not recommended at such a high price. Better to look elsewhere for your Hong Kong high tea experience!
